Good hotel for family vacation

Complete hotel with very good rooms, decent food, services and their own beach. Pools are adequate and they offer palapas at a reasonable price with consummation going toward the price of the service.

Palacio Mundo Imperial - Acapulco
Thu Apr 11 18:48:52 EDT 2019
We are a family of 4 and had a pretty okay time at the Palacio Mundo Imperial in Acapulco. We didn't go w/ the all-inclusive and had no trouble finding delicious drinks and foods around the resort area! Everything that is needed is within walking distance. We also took advantage of the shuttle services and visited the Princess Mundo Imperial & the Pierre Mundo Imperial. We went w/ a tour guide for the Acapulco tour w/ the Cliff Diver Show and also went w/ a tour guide for the Lagoon tour w/ Baby Turtle Release.

Family vacation, location better for business, poor service

This hotel was built beautifully and is relatively well maintained, but the staff service is generally very average and the hotel is not set up for families. Specifically there are no activities for kids and few families with children present other than smaller children. Many items have additional cost which is reasonable, but when the service is fair at best that is not ideal. This would be perfect for a business meeting, but not for a family vacation. We will not return, but found the beach and hotel property beautiful. Management needs work...

Great Service!

We were not staying at the Princess, but they allowed us to buy a day pass to use their beautiful facilities for the day. Everyone was great and very friendly! We especially loved Marco Gutierrez at the lobby bar! And the spa was fantastic.

We stayed several times at this hotel when it was managed by Fairmont. We stopped going because we found better service elsewhere. After 10 years, we returned with Sunwing Vacations. We could not have been more impressed. The service was excellent. The staff responded immediately to any need. The buffet wait staff were very attentive. The hotel finally realized that people need bottled water in Mexico & we were able to get several bottles each day. The amenities were greatly improved, such as the Nespresso coffeemaker. You can rent a mini fridge for your stay. The buffet food was the same as 10 years ago. It is geared to Mexican/Latin tastes. They have a real struggle keeping the grackles out. The Italian was over-burdened as the only a la carte restaurant open. The only bar is also over burdened. However, they include all domestic drinks in the Sunwing all inclusive package now & that enabled us to enjoy a few evenings there after dinner listening to good live music. We were REALLY impressed with the palapa reservation system and all the palapas that were available. By reserving there is no need to get up at 7am & throw towels all over the chairs. These are HUGH 12X12 PPpalm & wood palapas each with 2 loungers, 2 chairs & a small table. Excellent. They even have lights! The three pools were very well kept. They size & shape of these areas make it hard to find shade but they do have many umbrellas. The water slide was cleaned twice while we were there & there is a life guard to monitor the activity. We were also very happy that the advertized FREE WIFI throughout the resort actually worked! The golf is no longer a package but you do get 1 free green fee per week. The course is much improved from 10 years ago. The carts are electric & they give your ice & 2 small water bottles. You can leave your clubs for free & they are safe. We had excellent service at the course & they always accommodated us when we wanted to play. We went by cab to the mall nearby & found it to have many interesting stores, bars & restaurants. There is a huge store near that mall selling fresh fruit, all groceries, liquor beer, clothing, toiletries.. everything imaginable & better prices than the Walmart nearby. We felt very safe at the hotel and we are really glad we decided to return to a hotel we have previously enjoyed.
