Older than expected
May 04 2017
The hotel room was in need of paint and plumbing issues. Towels were old and thin, sheets and bedspread were old and thin. The grounds, pool, and beach were excellent. The food was good with fresh cooked items. The service was excellent and we did enjoy our stay.

Great Place for the Price!
Apr 24 2017
My husband and I found cheap flights to Cabo San Lucas, and decided to search and see if we could find any all inclusive places that were cheap and nice to stay at. We searched on apple.com and came across Posada Real. We didn't have high expectations, knowing it was a three star resort, but we were looking for a budget trip with a beach. We were so pleasantly surprised by Posada Real. It is a dated resort, but everything was clean and well maintained. The staff was extremely helpful. It is on the ocean, and it is has a wonderful beach. You can not swim in the water, but you can still walk in the water and enjoy the massive waves. Also there is a beautiful pool with a swim bar, and we never had a hard time getting a lounge chair. We paid for a garden view room, and we had a 3rd floor room facing the garden and could see the ocean from our balcony. It was beautiful. The room was very clean. We had two full beds, and it would have been nice to have a king, but for us we were just happy to have a beautiful view. We aren't ones to spend a lot of time in the room, so we really didn't mind. The food was good. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner were a buffet. There were many choices, and all though some of it weren't my favorite, there are enough choices you can find something you like. We also order from the pool side menu daily. They had many great choices. The drinks were great! In past experiences, and what I have heard, people say at all inclusives the drinks are weak. That was not the case here! Over the course of 5 days, I tried many different drinks and loved them all. Again, this is a great budget trip. We were able to relax and enjoy a beautiful location without breaking the bank. I would highly recommend Posadas Real, and I could definitely see us coming back.

I don 't even know where to start. I will say we had to change room three times. The rooms were filthy, hotel filthy, and no room service. The photos on apple were deceiving, the ratings were false, and someone has lied. The buffet was HORRIBLE, food was the same breakfast, lunch and dinner, and pretty much the same everyday. The beverages were watered down tremendously. No elevators, had to lug our own luggage from room to room and brought down our own luggage at check out. There are water stations around the hotle grounds and are dirty and disgusting. I did not drink out of them. When we prepared to shower or use the sink faucet we found there was no hot water, not even warm. When we acquired about the water, the hotel staff looked at us as if we were crazy about having hot water. The response from the staff is "we don't have hot water." Really? If i had known even half of this stuff I would have NEVER NEVER booked this resort. I can't even go on as I don't know how to continue. I would expect some compensation from this stay. I have to say this was the most horrific vacation, waste of time, and most importantly waste of money. You were contacted the first evening we arrived, the second evening, and I believe the third. We were contacted and only asked if we were okay. We were okay, but not satisfied. It was difficult to understand the individual on the other end of the line and not sure if she would have been able to comprehend all the problems.

The cleanliness of the hotel was very poor. I did not expect a five star hotel for the price I paid but was expecting the hotel and pool to be cleaner. All I wanted for my vacation was to swim in the pool, tan and have some cocktails, but the pool was very dirty and no way did my friends or I want to swim in it.

my fiancé and i went here for my birthday trip last week and within 1 hour of being in this dump of a resort we called a different 3 star resort down the road and paid again to get out of there. rooms stink like ammonia and are very dirty with box springs and 1' foam mattresses food is almost inedible, with weird smells and no appeal chefs didn't speak any english or understand you enough to order so unless you had decent spanish you went hungry. check in process and staff were not interested in helping you unless you spoke decent spanish this resort is mainly enjoyed by locals not by travellers. pool was very dirty and there is only one the hot tub wasn't heated also the pool was low on water. the river you see in the photos is stagnant water that is on top of blue painted concrete. entire resort is repulsive to say the least. we were not the only ones with issues at this resort we met multiple other people within the few hours we were there that expressed the same concerns with the management and still nothing was being done to help any of these people. these pictures are very deceiving its not what you will see when you get there. all in all DO NOT BOOK THIS RESORT. many others for cheaper that are way better. cannot swim in the ocean here at all.

Yes, truly our Go To Place!!!

Okay, rooms not at all fancy, so if that's not your thing....don't go there. Also, if you love to swim in the Sea of Cortez, don't go there...very rough, no life guards. But, it you want a very HOT DEAL ....go there. I overlooked the rooms and surf and still gave it top rating......the food, lovely, the drinks...very good...but the servers are the very best, and now we are friends with them. Benito, drink server on the beach....the very best! Edwardo, and all the others is why we go back twice a year....for many years. So, San Jose has had some bad press w/ violence, when we were there in Nov. 2017, shocked by how few Americans there. Canadians and Mexicans on wkend keeping this place a float. We found it as safe as ever, took buses to quaint city center of San Jose to watch Seahawk games, walk through the old church. You can not beat the price on this property, especially all-inclusive. Go there, you'll have a ball. Already planning a trip in the next few month!!!

The service was amazing

We only stayed here one night at the end of our trip, but enjoyed it. From check-in to check-out, this hotel had charm and a very warm, caring staff. We experienced great service from Brenda at the front desk. She was accommodating and even offered us a free room upgrade.

Posada Real staff very nice,

Posada Real is one of the lower priced "all inclusive" we looked at, as subsequently booked in for 9 days in early Dec 2017. Staff were very friendly and helpful, and upon arrival we we immediately upgraded to a ground floor garden , ocean view room. Rooms were spacious enough , clean and had a great view. We noticed the latch for the sliding patio door was just hanging there, and there was water staining on the ceiling of the shower, but was just fine otherwise. Walking the grounds, the garden was meticulously maintained, the beach was right there with a million dollar view, it was great! There was a poolwith a swim up bar, and employees readily offering to bring you a drink. It was nice, not great, but no real complaints. With the good, we must add the not so good, but still keeping in mind it's one of the lowest priced hotels that offer all inclusive. It was not really hot and we were looking forward to relaxing soak in the hot tub. It was not going to happen! The temperature was under 100 degrees and was filled with kids using it as a wading pool. It was not usable as a relaxing spa as the temperature was too cold and too many kids jumping in and out. Many in diapers! Enough said! In the evening we tried to get to the hot tub but we're warned by other guest not to go in as the temperature was so high. I stuck my foot in the pool, and burnt my foot. It was around 115 degrees, so hot you could really burn yourself if you just jumped in. I reported it immediately and advised them to close it down so no one would get hurt. As non smokers, we were happy the rooms were non smoking, but they permit smoking on the patio. The people beside us constantly smoked, one after another, after another,.... starting a 6 am, going strong till late in the evening. We couldn't enjoy the patio, and if we left our door open, our room would stink of cigarettes. Smoking is allowed in the pool, and due to the wind, we saw cigarette butts in the pool many times. The beach swim up bar closes at 6pm, but many times couldn't get a drink after 530pm, then the only other bar is in the hotel lobby. The food,...ah yes the food. I understand we are in Mexico, but the food in the dining area I would give a 2 out of 10. Most of the time the food was cold,...not just warm,...it was cold. Even the tub of hot chocolate was cold. I advised them, and they did nothing. In 9 days we had one good meal, and I'm not a fussy eater. We did go out for dinner a couple times after looking at the evenings selection. The food at the taco bar by the pool was really good, no problem at all. Someone had broken a glass in the hallway during the night. I reported it and was dealt with right away, but when we came back there were still lots of glass on the ground. They had only liked up the big pieces. These are really the only complaints, but other than these we enjoyed our stay. Not sure if I would return, but it was good for what we paid for.
