Older than expected
May 04 2017
The hotel room was in need of paint and plumbing issues. Towels were old and thin, sheets and bedspread were old and thin. The grounds, pool, and beach were excellent. The food was good with fresh cooked items. The service was excellent and we did enjoy our stay.

Great Place for the Price!

My husband and I found cheap flights to Cabo San Lucas, and decided to search and see if we could find any all inclusive places that were cheap and nice to stay at. We searched on apple.com and came across Posada Real. We didn't have high expectations, knowing it was a three star resort, but we were looking for a budget trip with a beach. We were so pleasantly surprised by Posada Real. It is a dated resort, but everything was clean and well maintained. The staff was extremely helpful. It is on the ocean, and it is has a wonderful beach. You can not swim in the water, but you can still walk in the water and enjoy the massive waves. Also there is a beautiful pool with a swim bar, and we never had a hard time getting a lounge chair. We paid for a garden view room, and we had a 3rd floor room facing the garden and could see the ocean from our balcony. It was beautiful. The room was very clean. We had two full beds, and it would have been nice to have a king, but for us we were just happy to have a beautiful view. We aren't ones to spend a lot of time in the room, so we really didn't mind. The food was good. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner were a buffet. There were many choices, and all though some of it weren't my favorite, there are enough choices you can find something you like. We also order from the pool side menu daily. They had many great choices. The drinks were great! In past experiences, and what I have heard, people say at all inclusives the drinks are weak. That was not the case here! Over the course of 5 days, I tried many different drinks and loved them all. Again, this is a great budget trip. We were able to relax and enjoy a beautiful location without breaking the bank. I would highly recommend Posadas Real, and I could definitely see us coming back.

I don 't even know where to start. I will say we had to change room three times. The rooms were filthy, hotel filthy, and no room service. The photos on apple were deceiving, the ratings were false, and someone has lied. The buffet was HORRIBLE, food was the same breakfast, lunch and dinner, and pretty much the same everyday. The beverages were watered down tremendously. No elevators, had to lug our own luggage from room to room and brought down our own luggage at check out. There are water stations around the hotle grounds and are dirty and disgusting. I did not drink out of them. When we prepared to shower or use the sink faucet we found there was no hot water, not even warm. When we acquired about the water, the hotel staff looked at us as if we were crazy about having hot water. The response from the staff is "we don't have hot water." Really? If i had known even half of this stuff I would have NEVER NEVER booked this resort. I can't even go on as I don't know how to continue. I would expect some compensation from this stay. I have to say this was the most horrific vacation, waste of time, and most importantly waste of money. You were contacted the first evening we arrived, the second evening, and I believe the third. We were contacted and only asked if we were okay. We were okay, but not satisfied. It was difficult to understand the individual on the other end of the line and not sure if she would have been able to comprehend all the problems.

The cleanliness of the hotel was very poor. I did not expect a five star hotel for the price I paid but was expecting the hotel and pool to be cleaner. All I wanted for my vacation was to swim in the pool, tan and have some cocktails, but the pool was very dirty and no way did my friends or I want to swim in it.

Posada Real is one of the hidden gems in San Jose del Cabo. If you're looking for luxury, this is not the right place. If you're looking for amazing hospitality and a place that feels like home with wonderful staff, this is the place to be! Idel from the bar, Benito and Victor from the pool bar and all the lovely gentlemen at the buffet have been so wonderful to me and my family.

Revisited posada real at the end of nov for a two week visit. After enjoying our visit in March so much we decided to return for two weeks this time. We knew we wanted one of the full ocean view rooms at front of resort so I contacted the resort by email ( we usually book a package deal) and asked the price of oceanfront. Raul told me that since we were coming for our anniversary they would upgrade us to oceanfront for same price. They placed our reservation back in April with no credit card confirmation and when I contacted them in early November they also set up massage bookings ahead of time for my husbands birthday. We arrived in our oceanfront room to find balloons, fruit and choc cake for the birthday/anniversary. My brother in law was 2 resorts over but was allowed to come in and spend the day with us for a day pass charge for his drinks/food. Anytime we ventured over to his resort looking for him (our cellphones wouldn’t work despite being told they would) but we found the welcome at his resort to be far from friendly. So while we already knew the staff was what posada “our place” in Cabo our experiences down the street proved it. Once again the food, pool and staff was amazing. Even after two weeks the food continued to delight Front oceanview is definitely the way to go. We enjoyed our partial view room in March but view so much better on the beach esp in the morning watching sunrise colours from bed and enjoying my first coffee in the sun on the balcony. If it rains you better close the patio door though. There was a downpour one night and room got a little wet but one call to front desk and they were there right away with new towels and to help me mop up. While everyone is amazing here’s a special high five to my favs Victor and brother Jeremiah in the buffet and Bernardo my favorite pool bartender who knew I loved my lime margaritas Thank you for helping us celebrate our anniversary

Excellent location in San Jose del Cabo

My husband and I travel to San Jose del Cabo regularly and love this region. This is our first visit to the Posada Real Los Cabos and we booked this resort due to the very low pricing and good reviews. We were skeptical prior to arrival but were quite surprised and found many things to enjoy. The location is excellent. We do like to leave the resort to walk to the small village of San Jose del Cabo, to the grocery store, coffee shops/ bars, etc. It is sandwiched between some mega developments and we had never noticed this hotel on prior visits walking by. The resort is very small and this makes it very convenient for pool / beach / restaurant / guestroom access. It is easy to find pool chairs and/or beach loungers and we did not struggle to find vacant chairs when we wanted to. The restaurant and beach bar/snack bar staff are lovely, helpful and friendly! I do enjoy mojito's and after finding out the hotel did not have mint I had no problem buying mint at the grocery store for the hotel to distribute with the bars. It is a very small cost and I was thrilled that the staff was pleased to make mojito's when they had the mint. My husband has a very sensitive stomach and eating on vacation has not always been easy for him. We were both very thrilled at food at the resort. We always found something delicious, there is lots of selection and the food seemed to be fresh vs some of the larger resorts we have been to. The breakfast treat was either a freshly prepared egg or omlette and there were loads of other items prepared if you don't like eggs. We had lunch at the pool / snack bar and it was great every time we enjoyed it! The rooms are worn and could use some TLC. The room attendants did a great job though and our AC worked wonderfully. We always had everything that we needed. The public areas and reception/front desk areas also could use some TLC. Some paint and new light fixtures would go a long way. This did not hinder our stay in any way, just an observation. The only negative staff person I encountered was at the Front Desk. He was our first contact with the hotel and unfortunately our last person at check-out. Angel, I am sorry but you are not well suited to your role. You do not seem to like people and your attitude towards us at arrival was surprising. When guest services treat people in a warm and friendly manor they have the ability to provide a very positive first impression and last impression. He was definitely going to make us wait for our guestroom even though it was ready and other staff casually intervened. Upon departure he took our keys and did not say good bye or thank you for staying with us or make eye contact. We truly did not meet anyone in the hotel with this energy or attitude. The staff at this property are overall exceptional. It is a basic resort with some very excellent surprises. In speaking with guests there are many, many people who have returned over years. They want to keep it a secret...

Great Hospitality and Service

Out stay at the Posada was marked by outstanding staff service. They met all of our needs and then some. Everyone was unfailingly polite and helpful. This is an older location so it's a bit dated, but its location is fantastic, great pool and beach. Also, we were greatly helped in scheduling some specific activities by Vanessa. She made all the calls, got all the arrangements and transportation aligned. Really added an extra plus to our trip. Oh, and their food is pretty good and each evening they have enjoyable entertainment. We're looking forward to our next visit here and are already planning a longer stay.

Authentic Mexican Hospitality - Exceptional Service

We loved our 15 day stay at the Posada Real Los Cabos, and look forward to coming again. From the front desk to the restaurant to maid service, we received friendly happy service. This boutique style Mexican hospitality is for people who genuinely enjoy the company of world wide travellers. We had no need to travel outside the resort area to find night entertainment. Each night there was a different venue of exceptional live miriachi, mirimba, salsa, cumbia bands. All danceable music which is our primary goal when visiting another country. Our Meals were a wide variety of fresh local food. Beautiful presentation on Christmas and New Years Eve as well as every day. New Years Eve celebration was memorable as we saw a variety of exceptional dancers. The Hotel Management has made all attempts to provide service and staff that is friendly , gracious and happy. That made our stay amazing.
