All Inclusive

Turn your vacation dreams into reality at a gorgeous Mexican resort facing the Pacific. The all-inclusive Plaza Pelicanos Grand Beach Resort is located in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, near the Puerto Vallarta International Airport and 1.5 miles from downtown. This pleasant resort rests upon Las Glorias Beach, dappled with colorful, tropical vegetation, and provides excellent personalized service and a landscape as beautiful as the Pacific.

The all-inclusive package includes 24-hour food and beverage with access to three restaurants (one buffet and two specialty), snack restaurant, three bars and non-motorized water sports. Several private hideaways ensure tranquility and relaxation, while entertainment can be found in the resort's infinity pool with swim up bar, mini-club with children's pool, numerous watersports and an activities cabin. Enjoy exchange privileges with Plaza Pelicanos Club.

Only a short walk from the resort is the town center. The Old Town echoes the cultural trends of a marvelous fishing village, with cobblestone streets scuttling past whitewashed houses with tiled rooftops. Many of these homes have been converted to shops, galleries and restaurants, presenting guests with an even greater range of things to do. Isla Rio Cuale, a narrow island of Vallarta, features a cultural center, a shopping strip, museum and fine dining.

Spent 12 nights at Plaza Pelicanos Grand just after Christmas Day. Rooms: We were initially in a 1 bedroom suite with pool/ocean views. The suite was spacious, with 2 full bathrooms, large terrace, kitchen with fridge, microwave, stovetop. Really everything we needed. Maid service was excellent. We were moved to an oceanfront suite after a problem with one of our bathtubs. Same amenities, great view! Plenty of hot water and excellent water pressure in the shower. Food: Breakfast buffet was very good. Many options, including made-to-order eggs and omelets and French Toast. The woman who was at that station almost every day was pleasant, always asking how we were and taking time to chat (I'm sorry I can't remember her name). Lunch options: Burgers and hot dogs at the pool bar. That was ok. Fresh pizza from wood-burning oven by the pool was very good. Pizza maker worked very hard! Main restaurant- did not use this for lunch until the last couple of days and regretted that I had waited so long. Not a big fan of buffet, but this one was quite nice. Did not get the sense that it had been "picked over". Area was kept very clean and food was fresh. Every day there was a station near the pool area that offered different things. Ceviche some days, tacos on other days, fresh churros (very yum!). They did advertise crepes on 2 different days, but they never came... La Flor de Calabaza: Dining room with service. We ate here almost every evening. Rotating international theme nights. Service here was excellent. A very special thank you to Karen (hostess), Humberto (waiter), Samuel (junior waiter), and especially Riccardo, who went above and beyond to organize an extra-special menu for our last night. Can't say enough about this staff. Food was also very good every night. Sky Bar: Beautiful setting and ambiance. Spectacular sunset views. Again, the staff made us feel special. Live entertainment (singers/guitarists) on some nights should have been better advertised as there were usually only a handful of people present during the entertainment...too bad. Jaccuzzis on this level were not terribly inviting. Plastic tubs looked dirty (more from use than actual dirt), and the water was not hot. Despite signs saying "no food", the one time we used it, there were dirty dishes around the deck. Beach/pool: Plenty of loungers and umbrellas with great bar service throughout the day. Pedro was exceptional. Pool never got full sun, but water temperature was good. Plenty of entertainment poolside. Mario, one of the activities directors was a lot of fun and made you want to be involved. Daily beachfront yoga classes under the palapa and led by Zarete, activities director at Sunset Plaza next door were appreciated by my husband. The beach was one of the larger ones on the Bay. Plenty of vendors, but that didn't bother us at all. We watched a couple of evening shows from our balcony, but did not really attend them. Suggestions for improvement: Jaccuzzis, Sky Bar, and La Flor de Calabaza were advertised as "Adult Only". We would have appreciated it immensely if that was enforced. For the restaurant, they could open early hours to families with children, but many people brought young children in as late as 9pm... Include body wash as part of the room toiletries. Bar soap just seems like a waste. We took the all-inclusive option and were disappointed that, on New Year's Eve we were not offered a discount on the special dinner and party (over 100$CDN per person, whether or not you were on the plan). We went into town instead. The party was still going on when we returned and it did look like a lot of fun. Overall, we enjoyed our experience at Plaza Pelicanos Grand. The staff is the factor that would most make us want to return. The hotel is about a 30 minute walk to the Malecon and you can walk the entire way on the beach. We used the city buses (about 50 cents each way) without incident.

Stayed here with a friend to ring in the first days of 2018. Small all-inclusive with lots of daily activities. Breakfast buffet generally good, included food during the day was hamburger and fries, hot dogs, not ideal for me but perfect for kids. My friend and i left the resort every night for dinner to explore new restaurants, but usually came back to a late night taco bar and/or desserts. Beach area small but pool area larger. No fridge in rooms. Ac in our room was very light, WiFi was unreliable. Had an issue with smelling smoke in our room although it was a non-smoking hotel? Not sure I’ll be returning since there are so many other great options out there!

Spent 2 weeks at Plaza Pelicanos Grand Beach Resort "All -Inclusive" = Nov.24 - Dec. 8, 2017. Enjoyed our stay very much, and would return. ROOMS: - Everything was in good working condition!! (plenty of hot water, AC, TV, coffee maker) - Our room was quite large, with a nice size balcony and walk-in shower, safe. - Pillow top king size bed - very comfortable. - Enjoyed having a coffee maker in the room. - Kept very clean - wonderful maid service. FOOD: - Buffet - small, but everything was very tasty. - breakfast , fresh omeletes/eggs were by far the best. - staff was attentive when serving/refilling beverages, cleaning tables. - Pizza - fresh, hot pizzas, baked in a stone oven were a great choice for lunch by the pool. - Ala Carte - **FANTASTIC** food & service!!!! - Everyday the menu changed: Mexican, Brazilian, Italian, French,Asian - Humberto and Ricardo (sorry forgot the names of the young gentleman & lady that work there) went over and beyond to accomodate. STAFF: - Hard working and all were very friendly and helpful. - Lots of fun with German & Mario from the Activities team. OVERALL RESORT: - Small, but quaint and very clean - Nice pool area with swim up bar, good loungers with umbrellas, and loved the Bali beds. COULD USE IMPROVEMENTS: - Lobby area -space could be better utilized ...... 24 hr. lobby bar/coffee station would be nice. - Decor in lobby and rooms. Very dull, boring pale colors .... Mexico is so vibrant when it comes to colors, culture, tradition and artifacts ... that should be imposed into the overall hotel decor!!! - Mini fridge/bar in the rooms would good. - Better maintenance of the roof top hot tubs - the were neither clean nor hot.

This resort is smaller and quiet. The room was nice and clean, a/c worked great, beds were comfy but did not have a balcony. The buffet food was good, and two a la carts were also good. Pool bar had great fries and burgers. The roof top bar was nice in the evening for drinks. We did not use the hot tub though. Had to get up early to get good pool chairs as the one side of the pool doesn’t get much sun. The weather was hot and the service was great!

We booked this resort for our Christmas getaway to Puerto Vallarta based on the raving reviews creating an illusion that this is a 4.5 Resort. We were disappointed upon arrival. The lobby was lackluster and the desk behind the check in counter had a random mess about it. . However, the hotel desk clerk was so very nice and welcoming, so it disarmed us and we went in with an open mind. We did get a nice refreshing hibiscus drink though upon check in. Next we were directed to the Concierge desk, where we were aggressively encouraged to go to the timeshare breakfast to get discounted actitivites. It was extremely uncomfortable. After that, we were escorted to our room, which yes, did have an ocean view, but was so completely outdated and run down not to mention smelled very strongly of mold or mildew. The shower curtain reeked and there was no hot water whatsoever to even take a shower after a long plane ride. The bed and pillows are so old and uncomfortable. The pool water temperature was very nice. But the infinity pool that looks so nice in the photo is just a very small dipping area that gets over crowded quickly. And what 4.5 resort doesn't even have a hot tub/jacuzzi ? They state it has a swim up bar, which indeed it has but they don't even utilize it. They block it off with plants so you can't have access to it while you are in the pool. You have to get out and walk all the way around to get your over sugared cocktails. The food quality is mediocre at best, and from our expericence the servers did not interact with us happily. It was like we were a burden to deal with. They did have a nice activity director though, for those who like water aerobics etc, or volleyball. The roof top bar had an amazing view, however, again the drinks were not good, and there was no organization to the appetizer they had which were just a few tossed cold vegetables on a high table. They did have a very nice guitarist up there though, but not many people were even there to enjoy him. I can go on and on, and it's really a shame because it's really a prime property on a great part of the beach. We could not bear more than one night there of our 4 night weekend via Hotels.com. so we were not refunded our money when we checked out early and still had a remaining 3 nights left.. We had to basically pay for an entire new vacation at another resort. I just can't understand how you can give this a rating the same as the Sheraton, or Now Amber or Secrets or Marriot just a little down the beach. There is absolutely no comparison to the quality these other hotels have and offer.
