All Inclusive

Turn your vacation dreams into reality at a gorgeous Mexican resort facing the Pacific. The all-inclusive Plaza Pelicanos Grand Beach Resort is located in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, near the Puerto Vallarta International Airport and 1.5 miles from downtown. This pleasant resort rests upon Las Glorias Beach, dappled with colorful, tropical vegetation, and provides excellent personalized service and a landscape as beautiful as the Pacific.

The all-inclusive package includes 24-hour food and beverage with access to three restaurants (one buffet and two specialty), snack restaurant, three bars and non-motorized water sports. Several private hideaways ensure tranquility and relaxation, while entertainment can be found in the resort's infinity pool with swim up bar, mini-club with children's pool, numerous watersports and an activities cabin. Enjoy exchange privileges with Plaza Pelicanos Club.

Only a short walk from the resort is the town center. The Old Town echoes the cultural trends of a marvelous fishing village, with cobblestone streets scuttling past whitewashed houses with tiled rooftops. Many of these homes have been converted to shops, galleries and restaurants, presenting guests with an even greater range of things to do. Isla Rio Cuale, a narrow island of Vallarta, features a cultural center, a shopping strip, museum and fine dining.

We booked through the hotel's website, as we have several times before, and when we tried to add Friday over the phone bad went to the worst! We love the staff here but the management and reservation dept are horrible. Several staff members advised us to call if there was no availability on a day, as we have stayed other resorts for one day just to complete our trip with Plaza Pelicanos because we love it there. The last time we tried this it created problem, after problem, after problem. Now we are 3 months in fighting with our credit card company to remove an obvious double charge that the property claims is legitimate. The dates line up and we have the documented evidence to prove that this is an obvious oversight by the hotel. After 10 stays here we will not be returning. Bad business practice, poor reservation agents, and worse handling of the matter. The only party with more blame in this is the idiotic credit card company "customer service" reps who have yet to resolve this with the property. ** The resort itself is average across the board. We have been put in time share rooms and they are okay but leave a lot to be desired. The food is average at best, HOWEVER the regular egg/omelette/waffle lady is amazing and so are Victor and Pedro (servers outdoors). The gym is small and only 2/3 of the equipment actually works. Lots of kids and the last couple of times there have been party goers in the hallways at night being extra loud. The last time a small child was crying for hours on end in the adjacent room and the hotel did little to put a stop to it. TO BE CLEAR- The resort has basically stolen almost $600 of our hard earned money and that is 100% unforgivable. I emailed the rep who "booked" our room (Karla Solis) and have gone 0/3 on responses. Thanks...

They gave us the best room overlooking the pool and beach. The bed was really comfortable. The bathroom was really nice, marble. The couch was a little uncomfortable, not a big deal. The kitchen was a great size and layout. It was the cleanest! They were nice every day and helpful. Food was okay. All-inclusive optional, good price. They had great activities and directors that made it fun! My husband played beach volleyball most days. Can't wait to go back. They have a beautiful rooftop bar with two Jacuzzis.

My stay at Plaza Pelicanos Grand Resort exceeded my expectation. The resort staff very were friendly, courteous, helpful and professional. The resort was very clean, pool exceptional, food staff amazing, nice rooms and a great selection of food alternatives during my stay. Fernando in the dining area and Victor in the snack bar were exceptional. I will stay at the resort again. The only one negative was the poor WIFI service.

Clean. Average hotel.

My daughter and I stayed here for a week. The staff was super friendly and helpful and the room was clean. We had the all inclusive package. The food was good though you couldn’t take it to your room. Drinks were good though there is only one bar. Snacks are at certain times of the day are are more like a cocktail. The pizza bar was ok at best. There is only restaurant (changes their menu each day) on the property other than the buffet. The hot tubs were not heated at all. They have a show every night around 9pm and it is loud! It was easy to catch a cab and go wherever you need to go. We got bombarded by staff asking us to go through their timeshare program. I did and saved on my excursions. Overall it was a good experience though I have been to much nicer all inclusive resorts for the same price.

We had booked into the Plaza’s sister hotel Club Pelicanos which was fine but we asked to change rooms as there was no elevator and we had a baby in a stroller. Our room also faced the nightly entertainment stage area so not ideal with a small baby. There was no ground floor room available so they very kindly suggested we move to the Grand. (I should add here there was absolutely no issue from either hotel when we asked for a more suitable room etc the staff were fantastic and super helpful) We are so happy we did. The Grand is far superior on every level. Our room at the Club was old, dated, dark and ugly. In the Grand it was huge, bright, spotlessly clean, modern and comfortable. We’d a huge balcony also. The rooms are very well insulated so the noise from outside the room is kept at bay. The bed was king size and very comfortable. The shower was very powerful with no shortage of hot water. We also had a baby crib. A standard pack and play. Did the job but our son wasn’t overly pleased with soft mattress (at least he got one, at club the same crib came with only the standard base no mattress). There is a baby service area on the second floor, with bottled water, a sink for washing bottles, a microwave and sterilizer and a fridge! Amazing. (No such service in Club) Despite being very busy while we where there we never had an issue getting sun beds. The pool was busy at times but again never an issue. There was also never an issue waiting for a table in the restaurant or to get a drink at the bar and no shortage of high chairs. The food was really great. I was worried before going especially for our baby but there was no need. There was amble options at all meals. Plenty of very fresh fruit and veg and we never once got sick or anything similar. The soups were especially good, especially for the baby. We were fully prepared to have to leave the hotel to eat and in the end never did once. We ate in the Al Carte restaurant twice and the food here was excellent. The staff were the nicest staff I’ve ever come across in any hotel I’ve ever stayed at. Honestly they were so friendly and warm it was unreal! There is only wifi in the public areas - lobby/pool/restaurant and it worked fine all the time. The spa was ok. Again the staff were lovely and It was a relaxing experience but it’s not a spa - it’s two small treatment rooms and more expensive than the same treatments in similar environments just outside the hotel. There is daily pool and nightly entertainment. I didn’t find they disturbed those not wanting to get involved too much, maybe some moments of loud cheering but that’s about it. They were fun activities. The beach is nice but the sand quite rough and the water very very rough. We didn’t do more than dip our toes. It was still beautiful, especially at sunset or early in the morning. The rooftop bar was a great place to get a drink again beautiful at sunset! The whole establishment is very very well run and managed. We’d happily go back.
