Very Good & Convenient P.V. Hotel
Mar 17 2017
This is a good hotel for the price, with excellent staff and easy access to town and the Malacon (walk or bus). The large warm pool especially nice. Beach and access not so great, but these are not the Caribbean beaches. Caution: find out and avoid any overlap with Spring Break which can certainly affect the quiet, family oriented atmosphere.

This was my second visit there, adore this resort

This was my second visit to this resort. I always feel welcomed, and very safe here. The staff is outstanding, and help every way they can. The food is very good, lots of local veggies and fruits, main dishes are very good.

Don't ruin your vacation here!
Aug 15 2016
This "resort" is nothing like I had hoped for. It was so bad that I checked out the next day. They barely spoke English. They refused to sell me a Wi-fi card due to the rain crashing their internet service. The bottles of alcohol were below bottom shelf (I couldn't even recognize any of the names). They required me to hand over a "towel card" to be able to get towels from the pool. There were kids and families everywhere, which I specifically wanted to avoid. The food was very undesirable. The "all inclusive" meant that I could eat at the buffet, and they gave me 2 paper vouchers for the "nice" restaurant they had. I don't eat seafood, and that's mostly what they served at the buffet. Most of the fish still had their head attached. The most I could comfortably eat was the rice, potatoes, dessert, and the salad bar. The room itself was ok (having dead bugs in various places), but the bathroom area was killer. Not only was it small, but the bathtub itself was so curved that I almost fell several times. The air conditioning in the room worked, but smelled bad. Then they wouldn't let me just check out early, but demanded to know why I was leaving, and delayed my vacation from actually starting.

Awesome friendly staff overall, but a very loud hotel! This hotel must be a great price for the locals as I would say that 90% of the people there were from Mexico. Lots of families and very nice people, but like to stay up all night and party. This is not a hotel in which you wish to get some quite down time and a good nights sleep!

The Staff at reception and all the bars and the restaurants were excellent! Very friendly and helpful. Unfortunately the cleaning staff didn't do the greatest job cleaning the room and they didn't know what washcloths were and of we did get them they only gave us 2 and there were 3 people in our room. The beds were so uncomfortable we couldn't sleep. The beach was so small that if the tide came in you couldn't even walk along it. Also we were not aware that the resort was made up of two buildings and that you had to walk across the street to get to the beach and main theater area. All the lounge chairs need replaced. The are either so old that when you sit on them they sink almost to the ground. Some where even ripped. This staff is worthy of such a better resort! Marco, Ivan, Raul(outside activities personnel) ,Eduardo and all the other bartenders were so Awesome!!!

The room was quite nice. We had very comfortable beds and the tvs got English channels. The AC worked great, and there was a nice sitting area by the windows that overlooked the pool. The grounds were well maintained and landscaped and there were pretty flowers in a box outside our windows. The bathrooms had nice travertine tile and were very clean. The service in the restaraunts and bars was good whether we tipped well or not. Drinks were fine, not terrible strong, but easy to get another. The breakfasts were good. Hamburgers and anything from the grill area was good. We never made it tto the specialty retaraunts, although they had sushi at the regular buffet. I never used the safe and felt comfortable leaving my passports in the room. We kept out cash on our person. My son left his phone in the bathroom one day and the guy cleaning it returned it.

The service was great, the rooms were comfortable and clean. There was not much variety of food and it wasn't that good. The drinks were very weak and I'm not a drinker. The beach had many rocks and it was very small.

Every thing is near, restaurants grocery stores, gas stations, pharmacies and even downtown. You can walk from one place to another and be there easy. The Hotel in an average one, has old built parts and new ones mixed, employees are not so friendly. Pools are good for swimming not more than 3 feet depth. At nights view from the beach is really great as well sun set, but nights are full of bugs inside rooms.

Great family oriented occomodations

First I'd like to mention that my wife and I stayed here as a couple with no children, and that while I feel we should have stayed at a resort more adult oriented, I can appreciate what Plaza Pelicanos has to offer a family. The pool area is quite extensive and there were plenty of child friendly activities to participate in every day (and night). The cabanas were my favorite feature, which are located just far enough from the community pool to make them seem private. Their proximity to the bar is also a plus. The public beach is a stone's throw away when you need to get away from the bustle of the resort. Here are my only 2 issues I had with Plaza Pelicanos; While the staff was extremely accommodating, beware of the concierge. Their sole purpose is to get you to attend a timeshare seminar under the guise of a "free" special meal in the exclusive members only area. DO NOT FALL FOR THIS! Unless you're into being manipulated. The 2nd issue we had was finding an ice machine. The front desk gave us directions to 2 different ice machine locations (which were on the other end of the resort from our room) so after what seemed like a death march the first machine was not there, and the second had a bucket of water under it but no ice. All things considered we had a good stay, but would probably opt for the Hilton next time we're in PV.

Disappointed, will not be back

We recently spent 7 days at the Club Beach Resort. Check in was ok, we were the only ones checking in; however, they were not very friendly and didn't provide a lot of information. The rooms are a little older but still very nice and clean. The beds and pillows were comfortable and clean. There is no fridge. The food at the buffet is not bad, but definitely does not have the 'wow' factor. I would never do all-inclusive in PV again, there are so many cheap restaurants with fantastic food within walking/bus distance. This was not a place to relax either in the day or evening. There were so many children, the pool was packed and noisy with no supervision. There was no way that you would even be able to relax and read a book. The No diving rules were totally ignored. Kids running up and down the hallway at all hours of the night, yelling and screaming, absolutely no respect for other guests. I have stayed at resorts where there were kids before and have never experience this mayhem, I will definitely be looking at adult oriented venues after this. We were on the 1st floor with walkout to the pool, but other people took over our patio, or took any chairs that were there. Even if you wanted to stay at the pool, there were no chairs to be had and people had drinks sitting all around the pool. The patio door's locking mechanism on our daughter's room next door fell apart when she opened it. They did come and put a screw in it, but not very safe. Pictures online shows that you are on the ocean, you are not. You can walk to the sister resort and use their pool and it is on the ocean and the pool is a bit bigger. I gave a 3 rating only because the restaurant staff were so friendly and both them and the cleaning staff are doing a very good job. Otherwise, I would rate this at a 2.

Good Value All Inclusive Property

First off if you book this property don't expect the Ritz, this is a value all inclusive property. We enjoyed our room and the pool that was bay side. The drinks were okay and easy to get. We ate breakfast every morning at the buffet, one lunch on property and dinner. After that we decided to eat all our lunches and dinners elsewhere. Which we didn't feel bad about since we got the resort at such an inexpensive price. We paid about $850 each for flight from KC and a week at the resort. There are plenty of great, cheap restaurants within walking distance from the hotel. The best place for drinks at the resort were in the evening at the Mojito Bar. The staff was great and the resort was clean, the food was the only thing that was lacking.

Incredible Service

At Plaza Pelicanos I received amazing service from all the staff. Claudio in the pool area went above and beyond to ensure that my friend and I felt comfortable and taken care of on the trip. It was great as there was two pools to choose from and once with an ocean view. At dinner we received great service from Carlos and Mario and they were always offering drinks and hot sauce. The tequila bar at night was always fun and the bartender Fabriccio made us feel welcomed and was overall the best! Lots of areas around the resort to hangout and walk around, but the reason the trip was so great was because of the staff!
