Playa Mazatlan Beach Hotel

Very clean hotel, Nice Beach and good security. Food was good and they offered several restaurants as options over the buffet. Hotel staff was friendly and helpful. The pools were in great condition and clean. The kids activities were good but not well staffed while we were there. We would stay here again.

We have been there many times and like the hotel very much as long as you stay away from the side (south) that Joes Oyster Bar is on. Our first night against our better judgement we had room 129 nd the music finally stopped at 4:58 a.m. My husband went to the desk first thing in the morning and they moved us to he other side without any problems. Alex the trainer in the gym is very nice and has been there 24 years. Great place to stay.

Our first time in Mazatlan

We were pleasantly happy with our whole visit at the Playa. Although when we first checked in and got to our home and realized that our room was ocean view, which we requested, but above where everyone sat and the bands were playing very loudly. We requested if we could change our room and very quickly were given the opportunity to look at another room...which was a great location. All the staff at the resort are very friendly and helpful...thank you to Elisabeth at the concierge counter and Denisse at the bar who was always helpful and always had a smile on their faces. I would recommend this resort and have since we have been back home to experience Mazatlan, they will love it. It is definitely remaining on our list of a place that we will return to. Thanks to all the staff from the time our feet landed on the ground in front of the resort to unfortunately the day our feet had to leave the ground to go home.

Even Better than Before!!!!

Well this was our second time at the lovely Playa Mazatlan it was wonderful they have made many improvements since our visit in 2014 . I had emailed the hotel prior to going and requested the same room we had in 2014 room 411 and we got it !! It is in my opinion a perfect spot Ocean View lovely.. Since our last visit they now have added safes in the rooms which was a big plus as well as a coffee maker very appreciated :) they have built a beautiful new pool that felt like it was my own private pool as the water is quite fresh a little cool not heated but lovely .. I swim in lakes at home s I was absolutely fine with it .. they have several pools a couple of children's as well as an activity pool that are heated .. they were also working on a swim up bar near the new pool but it wasn't quite ready while I was there so will have to return :) I had the opportunity to meet the owner if the hotel a lovely man who showed me around the man made cenotes as well as a beautiful hidden pool we had chatted about the escaped pregnant Iguana who they had to lure back into her pond where her turtle buddy lived and He had his employees make her a sand box so that she could have her babies. She still hadn't had them when i left another reason to go back ! The food had improved immensely since our visit in 2014 lots more choice ! the service in this resort is impeccable from the dining staff to the beach waiters to the housekeepers I cant say enough , The entertainment is excellent The Beach at Mazatlan is gorgeous ! We me so many great staff I cannot remember them all but shout out to Jesus Aguiler & Julien , Ernesto, Ramone, Julio, Joel to name a few I am really hoping to be able to bring my whole family here if all works out maybe for Christmas 2019 ...fingers crossed !

Great 2 week all-inclusive holiday. A fantastic location, an easy 9km walk along the Malecon or a short bus ride and you are in the heart of "Old Town" Mazatlan which is a must see for historical buildings, restaurants and shopping. Or take a Pulmonia taxi which are everywhere and loads of fun to ride. The beach at the hotel is great with beautiful sand and safe for swimming. There are a good selection of restaurants and buffet and friendly staff. It's the perfect size resort. Off the main road so it's not noisy but still close to all the action. I would definitely stay here again.

Love thiis hotel and keep coming back

We rarely return to the same hotels, but we make an exception for this one. This is a beautiful resort with lots of activities, good service and great food. The hotel is only a short beachwalk to the Malecon. The hotel caters mostly to Mexican holidaymakers, but extra effort is made to make foreign guests feel welcome. We found the food particularly good this year. The 'postres' at the buffet are not to be missed; the mostly Mexican dishes freshly fried for you at the buffet are also excellent. A couple of things to try - the ceviche bar near the beach is really a treat; the Italian restaurant is also very nice (try the Spanish coffee, which is a work of art!). The hotel bar was also a quiet place to regroup after a busy day of swimming and sightseeing (don't miss the cathedral and the central market in the old town - we take the bus marked 'Sabalo Centro' for 11 pesos). Our ocean front room was just beautiful and exceptionally well cleaned each day. The only minor weakspot might be wifi; we had to go out to the hall to get a decent connection and you can only connect two devices - this can be controversial when travelling with teenagers.

Nice Getaway to Mazatlan......

Late with my review, but thought I would mention my experience. Visited Hotel Playa Mazatlan February 23-26 for a nice weekend Getaway. Arrived at the Hotel with an easy check in. The hotel staff is very friendly, I would like to especially thank Alejandro for his service at the gym. The hotel atmosphere is very relaxed, most visitors where a mix of Canadians and Mexicans. The food was great, never a complaint about the service or options to eat. Unfortunately for the time we where there the weather was actually cool in the low 70’s, but the facility heats the pool. We stayed in one of the older rooms which is dated but kept clean. Right now the hotel is remodeling their rooms, so it could be noisy depending on where you stay. I would recommend this hotel simply based on value and customer service. Interesting fact is that the US consulate sits right across the street from the hotel and Your open to tons of shopping right in front.
