Ler me just say, we hade ordered a superior room with a partial ocean view and balcony and did not get that room. No balcony and no view of the ocean. We paid for the balcony room and it wasn't until 5 days in to the trip they were able to get me another room.

The staff was friendly, loved the contemporary style. A window in the celing was open so it rained on the bed. I was immediately moved to another room. Loved the personalization and feeling of welcome. Two thumbs up

Terrible Room
Jun 14 2017
We were given the worst room, street view with workers across from the room looking directly in at us made me feel very uncomfortable when we asked to change rooms we had to pay an additional $210.00 because they said they had nothing else to give us, no Apple representative around to help us out.

This was our second time there and I can't wait to go back. The hotel is awesome and there are plenty of things to do in the area.

Convenient location

This hotel is located near the shops and restaurants that we like to visit, and is right on the beach. However, it does seem to be crowded, especially the pool area. The weekends are the worst.

Great location, very noisy

Loved being in Romantia zone but rooms were small and need updates. Family oriented and very noisy. Rooms all go around the pool and music is very loud. Food ok but we loved sampling the local restaurant

Sunscape Hotel

We got a fantastic deal. Overall, we were happy with Sunscape although there were a few negatives: namely, the sewer gas odor that pervaded the guest corridors and the poor service and food at the Da Mario Restaurant. We were very happy with the buffet restaurant, the World Cafe, and its staff. The two Luises and Alberto were just great with friendly and efficient service throughout our stay. At the pool, Mario and Stephania kept us in drinks with ready smiles.

A very nice hotel with nice people. The conciërge Magda Gómez helpt us very good, we did some trips bij Vallarta Adventures. De hotel is very clean. They clean our room every day. Food is also very good. Nice place, there is a lot to do by day en also by night. Good for every one, young people or old people, it doesn’t matter. Nice swimming pool, nice beach! You have to go to this place. Thanks a lot for this amazing vacation!

This is one of the least expensive places to stay in the area, and we've loved it all 3 times we've visited. First, Victor at Bar La Iguana is the very best! He serves everyone quickly while making delicious drinks. He remembered our drinks quickly and we had fun getting to know him. We miss him already! To be frank, if you require a lot of pampering on vacation, this may not be the best place for you. If you're happy with extremely attentive and kind staff, tasty food that isn't super fancy, nice amenities that have charm but aren't state-of-the-art, you'll be quite pleased here. Everything is clean, everyone is kind, and you can't be the location.

Not how I remember it

I was very excited about my return to this hotel since it had been 14 years since I had been there. I had such wonderful memories of PLA so it was naturally my first choice when deciding to return to PVA this Summer. Firstly the noise created in the pool areas was far more excessive than that of just children and families having fun. I felt on checkmin that I had entered a theme park or circus. The noise from the ‘entertainer’ went well into the night resulting in me having to wear headphones for my first night in the hotel room. Then I awoke in the middle of the night to a huge pool of water in the middle of the room that had come from either the very old and run down refrigerator or the aircon unit that had also seen better days. Although the view was still as I remember it the furniture and fittings were very much in need an update and overhaul. Wardrobe doors did not shut properly as the had come askew and a very dark bathroom with little lighting available made it difficult at times. All in all sadly Los Arcos seems to have lost that authentic charm it once had. Whilst ok for families with young children, I would not recommend PLA to anyone who values a decent nights sleep.

Review of the day pass
Caitlin V,

We live here in PV and like to spend a day at a local resort on a day pass. It is almost impossible to get a day pass here, they are always "at capacity." But the few times we have been able to get in there, we liked it. But unfortunately, we probably will never go again because for reasons beyond all comprehension they started heating the adult infinity pool (the only pool worth visiting if you don't have kids) to a crazy hot temperature (over 100 degrees F), in 100+ degree weather. There is a hot tub/spa if you're interested in swimming in hot soup. I can only guess that the heater is just broken, and it is stuck in the "on" position, because who in their right mind would think that is a good idea. We walk by there 3-4 times a day, that pool is always EMPTY. Wonder why? I've sent them messages over the last month stating we really want to come back, but if we can't use the pool it is pretty pointless to spend $30 each to hang out on the beach. The other pools are normal temperature but, as a childless couple we definitely prefer going to places that have an adult area. Anyway, as far as resorts go I did like this one because they don't have as many "rules" as the other places do. They let you drink in the pool, let you enjoy a snack poolside. Every dollar you paid for the day pass is reimbursable in food and drink. Seriously, turn off the pool heater.

Professional, accomodatiing staff

The hotel staff was professional and accommodating. Magda, the conceirage, did an excellent job if dealing with a last-minute change to our schedule necessitated by a family emergency. Magda, at the front desk accommodated all of our requests. They were both always smiling and eager to help.
