Great stay

Enjoyed 9 days at this resort. Staff were very friendly and offered great service. Everything was kept very clean all the time. Although you had to take the shuttle to the beach club, there was never a wait. Would be nice if they had a couple more restaurants to choose from. I would not recommend the Italian restaurant. Food at the buffet was very good.

Pleasantly Surprised!

We booked this trip on a last minute knowing the beach and weather were going to be excellent. This resort is not on the beach but has a beach club and getting to and from the beach is really not a big deal at all. Room: We paid for Sunwing's Premium Ocean View room. Please note that there is no early check in or premium section on the beach that was advertised with our Premium package. Also absent was bathrobes and slippers from our premium package. We tried to enquire about this but just got a blank stare from the front desk. We did see a Sunwing rep and explained it to him but it went no where. This did not dampen our vacation but just be aware you may not get what you paid for. The room itself was very good and the view was amazing. Really good bed, firm but not hard. The room had a huge deck and shower. Toiletries and towels were very good quality. The room was clean, had a coffee maker and a fridge. The fridge is empty (this resort does not supply beer in the fridge or at least we never got any). Our package gave us a fruit plate and sparkling wine. The fruit was 3 apples, 2 bananas and a strawberry. The sparkling wine was not terrible and made good mimosas. You will get 2 bottles of water per day in your room. At check in you will be lost because there is no map or orientation of where "stuff" is on this resort or how to even get to your room. This aspect frustrated us because we felt lost after being up early (3am) to catch our flight and no idea where or what to do. That said by day 2 we were all good. Staff: The staff are great and work very hard to make your vacation memorable. Also i have to mention that this resort is 90% Canadian. We found during our week, folks just looked out for each other. If you wanted to go for a walk down the beach and leave your stuff, it was not an issue, someone kept watch. Even the vendors were very respectful and non-aggressive. Food: average 3* food. We noticed a lack of pastries and desserts. It all seemed repetitive but the soup was always delicious. The wine (red and white in the bottles) was quite good. The drinks were the best we have had at an all inclusive. All top brands (the real deal) and as heavy as you like. Beach: Very swimmable especially down in front of the Dreams. We swam all day every day. The sand is coarse and gets crazy hot mid-day. Lessons Learned: Bring refillable water bottles, the bar has filtered water available and safe to drink. The beach chairs are hard plastic with no pads. Pack to cheap yoga mats to lie on and just leave them there. Your bum with thank you. Try going out to eat. The buffet gets boring and repetitive. Take a taxi to the in town grocery store called Chedrai (Super Che). adding grapefruit juice to beer makes great breakfast radlers! There is a shop on the other side of security at the airport that sells coffee, chocolate, vanilla and cheese. His prices are excellent and the same as in town or on the beach. If the chance came up and the price was right, we would absolutely visit this resort again.

Great staff, friendly, enjoyable and they will try to accommodate you the best that they can. Wonderful entertainment, pool staff friendly and did not push people to get involved if they did not want to. Variety of pool games and quiet time. They are still upgrading rooms and we were on the 4th level and it needs a little work but very clean. Would suggest that they install ceiling fans in the lobby and lobby bar, very hot. Overall a very good experience and would recommend to friends.
