Nightmare in Royal Park Acapulco and Emporio Acapulco Hotels...
BABAKBOB A.
Aug 05 2018
Purchased all-inclusive package from Apple Vacations, was a nightmare that caused us serious health issue besides ruining our two-weeks vacation in Acapulco. You sold us all-inclusive package without informing us the hotel (Royal Park Acapulco) did not have airconditioner! Over two weeks prior to our arrival, aircondeioner of this hotel broke and failed to work. Unfortunately it has never been repaired or replaced and they were expecting this situation would last for several months! All the hotel's restaurants, lobby, and public areas were suffering from heat, lack of airconditioners and proper ventilation. We have faced with this disastrous situation right after our arrival and had sever suffocation and dizziness over our stay in this hotel. We could not breath, had headache and weakness and also my blood pressure drastically went up. We called immediately to your company and asked for help. We even asked to be returned back to USA right away. Apple Vacations ignored our health concerns and your representative in Acapulco was too busy with FIFA football game that he asked us to call him after game. Our continuous phone calls to your company and asking for help, finally we were transferred next day to another hotel (Emporio Acapulco). Your company did not move us before collecting significant extra money. We ended up to pay $4,591.50 to Apple Vacations, whereas according to Apple Vacations' website price for Emporio Acapulco hotel including airfare and transfer was less than half of our payment!? Despite of the fact we paid for all-inclusive package, but we have been charged for everything during our two-weeks stressful vacation. After having our first meal in the restaurant of Emporio Acapulco hotel, my wife and I got food poisoned. We almost died on our second day of our stay in that hotel. We continuously vomited, had diarrhea and struggled with suffocation. Onsite hotel doctor prescribed us with antibiotics and other medications. We were under medication and pain through our two-weeks stressful vacation. Your company seriously ignored and jeopardized our health over profit and money in addition to ruining our vacation. Apple Vacations provided us with services of improper quality that threatened our lives and health. Apple Vacations is fully responsible for everything happened to us and must fully refund our money back and compensate for all these damages, stresses caused during our two-weeks vacation.

Guillermo, Bartender at the main pool bar was exceptional. He even provided me with a chair poolside over the lounger for my sore back. Over and above was this man. Many thanks.

Im afraid the Park Royal was a huge disappointment. The position of the hotel was difficult as it was very hilly. The rooms were very old and cramped. No fridge, no kettle etc. Very basic. Ice machine was broken. Felt very cut off from facilities. The lift from the accommodation to the main part of the hotel was very old and smelly. Main lobby bar had only plastic glasses!! I could go on. On the plus side the staff were very friendly and courteous. Loungers around the pool (which was reached via a cable car) were good. Could not recommend the accommodation at this hotel.

Went in November ahead of Mexico Independence Day and found the Hotel resort very, very disappointing. It is described as a beach resort OK! It is really a hllside Hotel Camp with a beach at the bottom. The food tended to be disappointing except for the trattoria and indeed all a bit canteen-ish. There were no towels in the room when we arrived and the size of the room was cramped with en-suite even moreso. The staff were very helpful and willing but the lack of in-room fridge in hih 30s Heat and an icemaker around the corner out-of-operation made a challenged stay even more trying.

Horrible

HORRIBLE. ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE. Never again at this hotel. W went there Tuesday through Friday. there is nothing to do in the hotel after 8 pm. EVERYTHING CLOSES AT 8 PM. and they rent the beach area to others so the hotel customers are not allowed to use that area. AFTER 8 PM ALL YOU CAN DO IS GO TO YOUR ROOM. it is so far from the center of the city that you need to take a taxi every time you want to get out of the hotel, which is almost all the time. AND GET READY TO PAY A HIGH PRICE FOR IT. the food is always the same. they never change the menu. the waiters would never come and ask you if you want to drink anything other than the water they have outside at the self serve. AND IF YOU ASK FOR SOMETHING, THEY SEEM TO BE ANGRY. I TALKED ABOUT MY PROBLEMS MANY TIMES, BUT THEY NEVER TRIED TO HELP ME, THE LAST TWO DAYS OF MY STAY, I LEFT THE HOTEL AND WENT TO BANYAN TREE CABO MARQUES. PARK ROYAL IS CHEAP, SO YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR, PAY A LITTLE EXTRA AND GO SOMEWHERE ELSE, ALL INCLUSIVE IS NOT WORTH IT.

Very family friendly, secure and secluded place

Amazing hotel with excellent location and use of space to put in everything needed for a memorable family vacation. On the food end the Italian restaurant is most recommended but the seafood restaurant should provide more options. The breakfast and dinner buffet was good with enough options to select from and the bar (at the swimming pool as well as in the reception lounge) has good options to select from.
