Nightmare in Royal Park Acapulco and Emporio Acapulco Hotels...
Aug 05 2018
Purchased all-inclusive package from Apple Vacations, was a nightmare that caused us serious health issue besides ruining our two-weeks vacation in Acapulco. You sold us all-inclusive package without informing us the hotel (Royal Park Acapulco) did not have airconditioner! Over two weeks prior to our arrival, aircondeioner of this hotel broke and failed to work. Unfortunately it has never been repaired or replaced and they were expecting this situation would last for several months! All the hotel's restaurants, lobby, and public areas were suffering from heat, lack of airconditioners and proper ventilation. We have faced with this disastrous situation right after our arrival and had sever suffocation and dizziness over our stay in this hotel. We could not breath, had headache and weakness and also my blood pressure drastically went up. We called immediately to your company and asked for help. We even asked to be returned back to USA right away. Apple Vacations ignored our health concerns and your representative in Acapulco was too busy with FIFA football game that he asked us to call him after game. Our continuous phone calls to your company and asking for help, finally we were transferred next day to another hotel (Emporio Acapulco). Your company did not move us before collecting significant extra money. We ended up to pay $4,591.50 to Apple Vacations, whereas according to Apple Vacations' website price for Emporio Acapulco hotel including airfare and transfer was less than half of our payment!? Despite of the fact we paid for all-inclusive package, but we have been charged for everything during our two-weeks stressful vacation. After having our first meal in the restaurant of Emporio Acapulco hotel, my wife and I got food poisoned. We almost died on our second day of our stay in that hotel. We continuously vomited, had diarrhea and struggled with suffocation. Onsite hotel doctor prescribed us with antibiotics and other medications. We were under medication and pain through our two-weeks stressful vacation. Your company seriously ignored and jeopardized our health over profit and money in addition to ruining our vacation. Apple Vacations provided us with services of improper quality that threatened our lives and health. Apple Vacations is fully responsible for everything happened to us and must fully refund our money back and compensate for all these damages, stresses caused during our two-weeks vacation.

Guillermo, Bartender at the main pool bar was exceptional. He even provided me with a chair poolside over the lounger for my sore back. Over and above was this man. Many thanks.

Do not stay here

This resort smelled had bad odor. The room we stayed only had 1 towell for all 3 of us. We paid for partial ocean view which we had no view .The bathroom lobby was out of order. The snack bar closed 5 min earlier. In America a place will close at correct time not 5 minutes earlier. The only working bathroom was dirty with fesses all over the floor. Never going back to this place again it robbed me from my money. I recommend Princess Hotel regret ever going to this place beach area is small

My worst nightmare

This hotel has some of the worst personnel I've ever seen. And the beach is so small!!!! The distribution of this place is tortuous, very inclined, but don't worry, there's a diagonal elevator (but it doesn't work all the time). So, if you want to go there, good luck.

I was there for a week, not too crowded during the time I was there. The place was clean and kept in good condition. Not too far from the airport or the other local attractions. good deals in booking tourist excursions with them could improve on the food. overall it was a good stay.

Equivalent to a 2 star in the U.S.

I would characterize this place as a solid, middle class Mexican family vacation place. Paying more for an upgraded room merely gets you two basic rooms with the adjoining door open so it’s twice as big (still pretty small). One rom had two queens, a run down dresser and a hard backed chair. The other had a small chair, small non-matching couch (with a broken leg) and a Murphy bed. And the same run down dresser. I’m sure the dead cockroach was an added bonus.Food is meh. Hardly any of the staff speak English nor want to try. Friendly enough but you can’t really talk to them. As mentioned elsewhere, pretty dead at night. And everything requires lots of stairs. Six flights of 220 stairs daily is what I think I did. If all you want is quiet and not to speak Spanish to anyone, go for it. And Alcapulco in general is kind of a dump. Returning won’t find its way onto my bucket list.

Just a little suggestions to be better...

We stayed here during weekdays and it wasn't so crowded, so service was pretty good. We booked a romance type room and I have to say that I was expecting some more features for this kind of room, for example a mini bar or buroes with drawers next to the bed. In the room, AC worked good and all the amenities with no problem, just that TV signal often isn't so strength, didn't try the Wi-Fi service. Talking about the hotel, service and facilities are very good, huge and one suggestion is that in the pool bar, there could be more variety of drinks, the extra activities staff is a kind of shy and sometimes you have to look for them to enjoy an activity (we had this while we wanted to do the kayak), music can be more varied not only 80s pop hits, and beware that it hasn't lifeguard service (but the beach is commonly very calmed). In my opinion, staff is very insistent on you for taking a 60 min speech about a membership which can be a little annoying. Food in restaurants is OK but it can be more varied specially for breakfast, special thanks to Mr Jorge, who helped us a lot! And maybe doing shows could be daily not only on weekends. Finally, I've to recognize the program of taking care of sea turtles eggs! Is amazing
