The best all inclusive you'll ever experience

Our stay at Paradisus was by far the best of all inclusive. The property is immaculate, the food is excellent-so much variety, the rooms and grounds are tastefully decorated and Zen. Fernanda and Javier from guest services were the best...their service went beyond what we expected. Service at the Paradisus is exceptional-smiling faces and very thoughtful. Ariadna and Tatiana, along with Fernanda &Javier made our stay very memorable. This is what service looks like, exemplary. Thank you!

We visited the Paradisus La Perla July 7-14 with a group of 10 people (5 couples). 3 of the couples had Royal Service, 2 of the couples didn’t. I will try to provide a comprehensive review of all elements of the resort. The Room: great. Bed and sheets very soft. Nice, big living area. Huge tub in the bathroom and on the balcony. Awesome, massive shower with two rainfall heads and Wands. Dual sink. Nice TV and good speakers. Also have all the essentials - safe, robe, slippers, hangers, drawers, etc. The mini bar is included and is well stocked with snacks, beer, soda and water. Maid service was outstanding as was turndown service. The Pools: very good. Nice and big. We had access to the main pool and RS pool, and enjoyed both. The main pool can get crowded and rowdy. But not bad. Most chairs by the pool are reserved by 9 AM. Cabanas are great and cushions comfortable. Included for RS. Swim up bar is great but can get busy. Service is good depending on where you are. We spent most of our time in the pools, so when swim up bars close at 5, and upper bars close at 6, that’s a bit early for us. Pools close at 7 - wasn’t thrilled about that either. Water was clean for the most part but some days there was quite a bit floating and stuff in corners of the pools. Could do a bit better there. Most days the main pool had some fun activities as well. I like the volleyball net there too. Swim up rooms are awesome. Great job there. The Beach: major disappointment. We knew what we were getting into, reading reviews about the seaweed/sargassum. Nothing the hotel can do about this. Just a bummer. Most days the water was black. Couldn’t get in at all. Anywhere. They do have kayaking, hobie cats and paddle boards for free. We did kayaking and it was very fun. They could promote this stuff more though. The chairs and service and area are very nice. But we love the ocean so this was merely a shame. I hear it’s everywhere in that area. The Bars: excellent. Alcohol everywhere. During the day we drank around the pools and in the RS lounge. In the evening you have many options. Our favorite was M Bar. They made an assortment of excellent martinis with top shelf alcohol. SO great! There is also the South Avenue Bar, Gabi Club, Red Lounge, and every restaurant has a holding bar. You can even drink on the La Esmeralda side. My man Edwin (South Avenue and red lounge) made the BEST drinks! Major props! The entertainment: this was one of the highlights of the resort. Every evening there was a performer of some kind at the South Avenue Bar and almost every performer was top notch. The Hot Dog Band (hire them more often and let them play more than an hour!!!!!) was amazing, jersey boys was fun, but even the salsa band and light up violin player crushed it, among others. Late night consisted mostly of a DJ in the red lounge. They did have karaoke twice while we were there. But they could have had it EVERY NIGHT. Especially for more than an hour. The karaoke band was AMAZING and it was packed both nights. We didn’t make it to any shows at the theater. The restaurants: the other highlight of the resort. In a word the food was: AMAZING. There are tons of restaurants. I won’t run them all down. Breakfasts - the buffet is fine, room service is awesome (used the RS door hanger for steak and eggs twice! Bravo!) and La Palapa was very good too. For lunch, pool service from Sunset Grill and around the RS pool were both outstanding. We also did The Grill which was so-so. Pizza could be improved. Dinners? Oh my. I will highlight two, but they were all fantastic. Except Mole, which I don’t recommend. Bana was our favorite. It’s Asian food and its split up into sections. We did the main place and had so much awesome food (shrimp and noodles and sushi to die for!) and we also did the teppanyaki/hibachi show. That was also utterly fantastic. The beef melted in my mouth and the shrimp and veggies were so so great. All of the food we had was top notch and better than any All-inclusive we’ve ever been to - by far. If I was to go back here it would be for the food. Period. Great seafood too. Royal Service - highly recommend. No one single feature makes it worth the extra money but when you put it all together it’s so worth it. Access to the pool, private beach, lounge food and drink, no $5 charge on room service, etc. But also, the butler service was excellent. Christian did a great job. Filled up our tubs on request, handled dinner reservations, checked in on us, and put in some very special touches like champagne and strawberries as well as tequila in the room. So great. THANK YOU CHRISTIAN! Overall: they did an excellent job accommodating our large party. Most meals were family style so we could try all the stuff on the menu. Loved that. Service was fast and efficient for the most part. We had an absolute blast all week. Very few complaints. That said, we will probably not be back due to the beach. Not their fault but we will most likely either try Jamaica/Punta Cana or go back to Cancun. We prefer places with better views of the ocean and an infinity pool with said view.

Royal service at La Perla-amazing!

My wife and I are checking out today after a wonderful week here at Paradisus La Perla. We chose to do royal service and were in a junior suite. Our last all inclusive experience was Paradisus Punta Cana royal service. While that was a nice hotel, we enjoyed La Perla much more. The staff here just can’t be beat. They are so friendly and always wanting to help. In Dominican Republic I felt more obligated to tip. Here it seemed much more sincere and they care about the hotel guests. We still tipped when we had great service. Check in: went extremely smooth. The entire airport experience and shuttle to hotel also went smooth. We booked with Costco and BD travel drove us to the hotel promptly and without any glitches. We were taken to royal service and allowed to check in an hour early. The entire royal service warmly greeted us and we were given glasses of cold champagne. Our butler, Gilberto, was ours for the week. He did an amazing job always checking in with us and always made sure we were ok. Hotel room: perfect. The AC always worked and we always slept comfortably. The bed was great and everything worked perfectly. Food: the buffets were not good at all. But we really enjoyed Bana, Fuego, LaPalapa and Mole. Beach: surprisingly, seaweed wasn’t much of an issue. The few days it washed up, it was cleaned up by noon. I walked the beach many mornings and swam in it a few days. My only complaint is the floor is rocky and treacherous in spots when you walk in. My advice would be swim near Esmeralda side or go south to the public beach. Nice and soft sand and able to swim. The water was so warm and perfect. But we spent more time at the pool. I preferred the beach in DR over this one, but this resort offers so much more. Royal service pool: awesome. Bigger and nicer than the one in DR. Bartenders Lorenzo and Ramon always had smiles on their faces and happy to serve. It’s a nice and quiet pool, again the main reason we opted for royal service again. It’s mostly couples just relaxing and everyone was enjoying themselves. The pool wait staff also kept checking in and always made sure we were good on drinks or food. The royal service pool concierge staff were also great. Luis, Daniel and Carlos were the first smiles I saw every morning going to the pool. They always made sure to set up our Bali bed and also kept my beers cold by giving me nice buckets of nice. These guys are easy to talk to and I found myself chatting with them about life many days. Paradisus is lucky to have them! Nightlife: we enjoyed many nights of live music at the south bar. Just nice to sit and relax. Again, staff here is just fantastic. Always asking if we need anything. We went to the Michael Jackson show, Elvis show and the circus show. We enjoyed the circus show the best however it was packed with the Esmeralda kids. Our last night we did the beach party, Day of the dead theme. It was so much fun. Well done Paradisus! This was my first time in Mexico and to anyone who is hesitating on coming here, Give it a chance. The people here are so friendly. We also left the resort a few times, once to Playa del Carmen and the second for an excursion. I never felt unsafe. The hotel arranged to call us a taxi and helped us greatly. The taxi ride is super short, only 10 minutes or so. Overall, we are very satisfied with our stay here. We will be back, either just as a couple to La Perla or we may bring our kids next time to Esmeralda side. Thank you Paradisus for delivering the epitome of customer service. For a week, I felt like a King.

Amazing Rooms and Royal Service

We spent 5 days at La Perla and chose to upgrade to Royal Service when we heard the beach/weather might require us to spend more time at the resort. What a great decision! La Perla is the adults only side of the resort and choosing Royal Service allowed us access to a butler, top shelf liquor, a comfortable "club house" with food/drinks/tvs, access to a high end restaurant and separate pool area with unbelievably friendly and attentive service. I didn't think we would use a butler, but Alexander was very helpful in booking our excursions, helping with dinner reservations and coordinating our trip back to the airport. Royal Service was well worth the cost! We had a swim up junior suite at the main part of the adult resort (since the Royal Service rooms were all booked by the time we upgraded) which allowed for late evening dips, which was nice because the pools close at 7 pm. The room was spacious and beautiful. I highly recommend the La Perla resort and Royal Service.
