Hotel is under construction, overbooked, being sent to All Inclusive Oasis Palm

I originally booked this hotel because of its easy access to downtown Cancun, ADO bus station (15min walk), and a supermarket nearby since I have one night layover at Cancun. However when I arrived at the hotel, they said that the hotel was overbook (during spring break season) and was under construction, therefore they gave me an upgrade to the All inclusive Oasis Palm palm instead. At first, I thought it was a great deal, however I later found out that it was not the best choice. The all inclusive Oasis Palm plan did not include transportation from this hotel to Oasis Palm (had to pay 7USD additional for taxi) and the wifi was not given free ( had to catch up with work). End up paying extra then what it should be.

Staying in cancun

Choose this place on wotif. Looked good and right in Cancun. The price is reasonable and the hotel staff are friendly and welcoming. Not to far from the airport. The rooms are tidy and clean , the showers and facilities are great. The place has a downstairs coffee bar , also a nice outdoor pool with jacuzzis. Nice relaxing atmosphere. Check in is 3pm , we checked in earlier and they looked after our luggage whilst we went sight seeing. This place is walking distance to shops, malls, markets and places to eat. Thanks

Good place if you don’t want all inclusive

Me and my husband stayed here for three days as a last stop in the Yucatan Peninsula. This is a great hotel if you’re not looking for all inclusive by the beach. Near down town so you can browse around locals, go to the mall “las americas” and if you want take a cheap cab out to the hotel zone. We enjoyed the pool area with live dj and nice hang out. Decent drinks and breakfast buffé. This is not a hotel where you wanna hang out at all day long, but has everything you need.

Average, too expensive

Stayed 2 nights + clean, good shower, comfy beds, wifi worked in rooms - fairly pricey considering what you get (stayed in a cheaper private hostel room when we first arrived in cancun which was as good as this hotel), very loud a/c, average breakfast, at checkout everyone had to leave their luggage in the lobby since there was no luggage room, staff at reception didnt know there was a shower at the pool (would‘ve been good to know after a day at the beach and before the flight home)

Very bad experience.

I have reserved thru Expedia for just one night. I arrived at 8 pm, checked in, and the receptionist said "a small detail, the elevator is not working, so you will have to use the stairs". My room was on the 6th floor. I asked "really???" She said yes, with the best poker face I have seen in my life. I asked for another room. She said the hotel was full. Rude, careless, uninterested. The 6th floor was under construction or refurbishing, so it was dirty, filled with construction materials. As soon as I closed the door, I heard screams outside. I opened the door, two maintenance guys were having their blast with a very loud conversation that included jokes and loud laughs. It was after 10 pm. 7:30 am I heard a lot of noise outside of my room. Construction people were working, laughing, singing, screaming to each other, having fun, and not caring about anyone or anything. Same thing with the cleaning ladies and their radios, that were too loud. Suddenly, slamming hammers and slamming things started to take the scene. I exited the room to check out, there was a lot of people outside in the corridor, not caring about anyone or anything. For a very short business trip (one night) the location is very good. Free parking, in an open lot. Free internet, that doesn't work well. There was a noise coming from the corridor, like an elevator motor that activated itself every ten minutes, throughout the night. I would never go back. You should stay away from this hotel as much as you can.
