Stay away from this hotel poor service, we were put in a building that was closed and under construction not what we asked for at all the water does not drain properly, the rooms are filthy,no hair dryer or iron they charge for wifi and the safe box from ur room and if something gets stolen because it's not in the safe box they are not responsible🤔Really 😡Not cool this hotel is the worst I have ever been to starting with the poor service at check in over 2 hrs to top that the rooms aren't even ready when they say and to get your key after check in it's another 60 min. You are on ur own for any problems because there in no manager u can talk to to solve ur problem I had the worst stay of my life NEVER W

No dressers in your rooms made living out my suitcase for 7 nights became extremely anoying. On the 2nd day the house keeping woman left the floor wet where I slipped and fell, and fingers on each hand are still swolen today. The food was terrible. 4 out of the 7 nights I left the resort for dinner. Including on my 50th birthday. I stated at check in that I was here for my 50th birthday, hoping for a time I'll never forget. Since I'll ony have one 50th birthday. I didn't remember I mentioned that until the day before I left I heard someone being sung happy birthday to at their hotel room doo on the morning of the 8th. How nice I thought, wish that could've been done for me 2 days ago on my birthday. The only thing I truly liked was the beach.

Two classes of service.

The problem with the Oasis Cancun Lite is that it seems to be the stepchild of the main hotel. Unfortunately the staff at one hotel didn't seem to know what the left hand was doing. For instance. When I asked where I could print my boarding passes at the Lite desk, they sent me to the main pyramid desk. When I got there the person at the desk basically said well you should have went to the concierge at Lite. Then he proceeded very sarcastically to say well you have 2 options--you can stay here and wait for others to get off the computers or you can go back to the concierge at Lite. When I asked hey why did they send me 1/4 mile here in the first place. He just looked at me and said well sir you have two options quite sarcastically. By the way gthe concierge at the Lite was not in the lobby area but somewhere down a long hallway at the end of a string of guest rooms-- really in the middle of nowhere and hard to find. I guess that was my firt clue that guest services were not a priority. To be fair the concierge was very helpful though--when you did find him. The maids and other staff seemed very nice and helpful. Upon checkout I was told to check out at the main desk at the pyramid because the Lite desk wouldn't be open at 5A.M.--again second class citizens I guess. When I checked out I was told that also airport pickup was also at the pyramid and not Lite lobbies. I protested that I'd already walked a quarter mile to the main lobby and had to walk 1/4 mile back again and I wasn't going to lug 3 suitcase another quarter mile back. I have a bad back and that just wasn't going to happen. Again if you stayed at the Cancun Lite area it seems you got second class service. I prevailed on the desk to tell the airport transport to pick me up at the Lite lobby. Many aspects of the hotel were very good but it was quite apparent that Oasis Cancun Lite was second fiddle yo the main hotel. It seemed like they were running two different classes of service and two different hotels. And one hotel didn't seem to know what the other was doing. In short I felt like I was a second class guest and would not stay at the hotel again.

The resort grounds are gorgeous and well maintained! But, we were placed in a wing where there were renovations going on, despite having made our reservation 3 months in advance. Despite many pleas the staff refused to move us to another building. We woke up and went to sleep with the sound of hammers and drills. This building also seemed to be where all of the large groups were housed - and most were 18-20 year olds. They partied outside our door until 4:00 a.m, screamed and ran up and down the halls. I was with my family for a Thanksgiving holiday and would've prefered being in a "family friendly" environment.

There was no water pressure in the shower. The room smelled like paint fumes from the repairs going on in the next room. The food wasn't very good. Staff was friendly, and the pool was great.

This hotel was alright. The biggest problem that we had was with the service that we recieved. We called to have bottles of water delivered to our room, but we never got them. Otherwise, the beach and the pool facilities were great.

When we booked our family vacation back last June for Christmas, I was excited but had no idea what to expect. Luckily, we had a great travel agent who had JUST visited the Grand Oasis and was able to tell us like it was. The first thing she told us was to book the Pyramid. It seemed that it was the nicest hotel option on the property. It certainly was the hub of a lot of, restaurants, etc. It IS outdated. Be aware, but keep perspective. It says it's luxury at the Grand Oasis, and maybe it is comparatively speaking. Just keeping it real. Our refrigerator never seemed to be very cold, but it was stocked daily which was lovely. I will complain that when we checked in, we booked 2 rooms: one for my husband and me and one for our three teenage girls. The girls' room had 2 double beds. We specifically asked for a rollaway cot be brought up for our 3rd girl. They told us it would be done. This was Saturday morning. That evening, still no bed. We went back the next day to concierge and asked again. Again, it will be done. It never got done. We gave up. In the grand scheme of things, our 14 year old survived and smooshed in with her sisters, but I would much rather be told it couldn't be done from the get-go. I am big on following through with one's word. That being said, any other time I needed to arrange something, the concierges were always kind and helpful. Our travel agent also recommended to pay for the upgrade fee for namebrand booze (yes, totally worth it) and freedom to dine at any of the restaurants on the property (yes, totally worth it). We also enjoyed use of the cabanas on the beach (lovely!). But you need to get up early to "reserve" one. I usually was awake on on the beach by 8am, but even then the selection would dwindle. If you like to sleep in, you will miss the boat. What I LOVED--the staff: *Luis the bartender who was stationed at the bar in front of The White Box. Always smiling. Always patient. Always kind. *G-O and Daniel, the best Zumba instructors ever! My 20 year old daughter and I showed up right before 11am each morning. Often we would be the first there and the only ones (awkward). Day one, Daniel came right up, asked us if we were there for the class, smiled, fist bumped us and we were hooked. Both these guys are super nice and friendly and boy, can they dance! Don't be intimidated to try the class. People would join in randomly and always the stage would be full with folks of varying ages, capabilities and footwear. Just try it. It's fun. You're on vacation. G-O also hosted the karaoke night at Coyote Loco. He was delightful. *Roberto the manager at Careye's restaurant. Very attentive. Always wanting to make sure you were having a good experience and seated as quickly as possible. *The wonderful female pilates and yoga instructor who led classes every morning . I regret I never got her name, but she led her classes in the most patient and relaxing way. Very inspirational. Thank you. We loved staying at the Pyramid and getting a latte first thing at Coffee & Me. Heaven. We adored eating at The White Box and picking and choosing myriad small courses of exquisitely prepared food. Reservations could only be made the day of at the restaurant between 2-5. Be aware there was a line prior to 2pm. Don't dilly dally. We loved eating at Careye's and finally wised up that we could eat there for lunch in addition to dinner. Brilliant. We loved wandering over and playing beach volleyball from time to time. Again, the staff at the Beach Club would sometimes show up and join in. Fun! We loved the Black Hole for a date night. Be sure to pack black clothing for the night. Such a cool experience. We loved the beach. The scenery. Breathtaking. The ocean was a bit rough, but it made it fun and exciting. Just be alert not to be pulled out to sea. If you need a change of scenery, you can take a bus to Market 28 in town and haggle with the locals for souvenirs. We also took a day trip to Tulum which included an exursion to swim in an underwater cave and also go snorkeling. Have fun. What I also will say is this: we did not experience the nightmare of checking in and checking out because with our upgrade, you have a totally separate (exclusive) area to check in. So we barely waited to check in and luckily kept our bloodpressure intact. We did see the checkin area where others were standing in long lines. This is the check in for ALL of the hotels at the Grand Oasis as I understand it. No wonder there are lines and stressed out travelers. We visited December 23rd-30th and there weren't nearly the number of people at the start of the week as the the end. Clearly this is a happening place for New Year's. I would suggest if you are coming over any major holiday, be realistic that you will have lines most likely for everything. Again, not a bad reason to upgrade. Good luck.

The nightmare that never ended NEVER GO HERE

This place is the worst I have ever stayed in, in my entire life any hotel would be better than this the hotel staff was nice but under trained and can not handle ANYTHING we were booked and grand oasis for New Years and after waiting in line for 3 hours just to check in we are told they over booked and we are being sent to another property that is smaller and that was just the start of an awful trip fridge never worked for my medicine and never replaced it and didn’t care hang the phone on you all the time and the food and drinks were awful ...they don’t care at all not even a little, the bar tender picked up the empty drink cup my buddy left on the bar and poured my drink into ...unwashed I was blow away the whole trip NEVER GO TO THIS PLACE .

NOT a 4 star resort for sure!!! Long lineups and noisy

This review is for Grand Oasis Cancun, not for the Pyramids (upgraded black wristband). Long lineup in the morning for buffet. Long lineup at coffee shop. They don't take dinner reservations for special restaurants; so long lineups at lunch and dinner unless you lineup before restaurant open. Building has terrible Soundproofing. It traps all the noise in, good luck if you have a connecting door in your room.I woke up a few times every night by drunks shouting or inconsiderate people chatting while walking up the stairs. The noise echos! Specialty restaurants are just so-so, most dishes are salty. You won't get the A La Cart restaurant feeling as you get at other resorts. Even if the food quality is OK, such as Spanish and Italian restaurants, the service is not as good as other resorts. The good thing about this resort is the beach. It's right down the building. The peacocks and gold fishes are lovely. If you like Maya culture, go to Riviera Maya instead. We stayed at Bahia Principe a few years ago. It was really nice.

Amazing staff, friendly and so willing to go above and beyond for guests.

Got upgraded to a beautiful suite. Outstanding view of the Ocean from the 8th floor. Beautiful marble and big comfy bed. Very clean. Food was incredible especially by all inclusive standards. I've stayed at middling all inclusive hotels in Cuba and D.R so I was not expecting all that much from the restaurants but the food here was top notch. Especially the a la carte restaurants. Incredible wait staff that make your meal lots of fun and they have great recommendations. The beach is pretty calm but not quite as pristine as further down the strip towards playa del fines. Lots of entertainment at night, multiple music options. Would definitely recommend this place!

The peacocks are the best part
Mon Jan 08 14:32:25 EST 2018
So I’ll start with the positive ..the resort has a fun upbeat atmosphere ..and they have several beautiful peacocks on the grounds . The hotel is fairly clean but very outdated and needs quite a bit of updating. The food was of poor quality and the cheap rail alcohol was even worse. It’s not the quality that I’m accustomed to when visiting Mexico but its a good deal for the budget conscious or the student looking for an affordable spring break trip. I personally wasn’t bothered by noise but if your looking for quiet and peace this isn’t the place for you’s probably a first and last trip to this resort for me
