Wonderful stay at Now Sapphire!

Just got back from the Now Sapphire. We could not have been more satisfied with the resort! The resort was just beautiful, very clean and the staff was so accommodating. The food was outstanding!! We loved the employees, they made you feel so welcome, they just do enough for you! We wanted to give a shout out to Victor Marcial, our server at the pool. Victor was great! So professional, and a great sense of humor! Would definitely recommend the Now Sapphire!

THE HOTEL WAS AT 100% CAPACITY AND IT SHOWED. YOU HAD TO BE UP AT DAWN TO GET A BEACH CHAIR BECAUSE PEOPLE LAID OUT TOWELS TO CLAIM THEM THEN NEVER CAME BACK. WE TOLD THE BEACH STAFF ABOUT IT AND THEY SAID THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO. THERE WERE EMPTY GLASSES/BEER BOTTLES ON THE BEACH AND IN THE GARDENS AND SEVERAL TOILETS WERE BACKED UP. THE STAFF WAS SUPER FRIENDLY BUT THEY STRUGGLED TO STAY ON TOP OF CLEANLINESS. I UNDERSTAND THAT SEAWEED IS AN ACT OF GOD BUT NO ONE WANTS TO HUFF DEISEL FUMES FROM TRACTORS CLEANING IT UP ALL DAY AND YOU HAD TO SMELL THE PILES OF ROTTING SEAWEED IF YOU ATE IN THE MEXICAN RESTARAUNT, THE BUFFET OR BLUE WATER GRILL. OUR 2ND TIME HERE AND I DON'T THINK THAT WE WILL BE BACK UNFORTUNATELY.

Staff and food were excellent!! As a shorter person it was difficult climbing in and our of the bathtub to use the shower with all of the tile/brick surrounding it. Some seaweed on the beach but a non-issue for us, we love the pool. Pool entertainment staff were fantastic, did a great job of getting people involved, had events for all age group. A few too many "spring break seniors" for us...glad we were leaving when the second group arrived, they were not as polite as the first group. Again, the food was fantastic and the staff went out of their way to welcome us and make us want to return!! Nicely done!

Due to beach conditions at the time of our stay I had to grade this resort lower. Have to single out Hector Perez (rooms manager) who made sure that room accommodation was outstanding.

This resort was absolutely beautiful meeting our expectations. Our on ly concern was the buffet dining area which had a stale smell all week. The buffett was beachfront so the smell most likely was from the piles of Dead sea weed on along the beach. There was a tremendous amount sea weed along the beach for as far as the eye could see. The resort had a crew cleaning it away form their beachfront area which was a futile task from what I witnessed. We love to walk the beach and could only go so far because the sea weed was so nasty and hard to walk on unless we had our tennis shoes on....but who wants to wear shoes while walking the beach! I would say they the sea weed is going to be a problem for a long time for the resorts in Cancun.

We’ve been to at least five different all inclusive resorts in Riviera Maya and Now Sapphire is, overall, the best. Staff, facilities, food, beach, comfort and relaxation level are all superior. Preferred level is a definite advantage and worth the extra cost. Close to the airport, well maintained and the above plusses all add up to a great resort.

This was my first trip after breast cancer treatment. I was given a room on on the 3rd floor to climb. In order to get a room on the first floor they made me pay $360 . I would like to get my money back. It was the cheapest trick I have ever seen, but I had no choice.

Maintenance

We loved the hotel but had issues that went on the whole week after calling maintenance and the front desk. Our ceiling fan never worked and the tv only worked the first day. Our biggest issue was water coming out of the light fixtures in the bathroom. We came in from lunch on day 2 and noticed water everywhere on the sink and our toiletries. We called the front desk to report and moved our stuff. The next day I went to the room and found water coming down again in the bathroom. I called the front desk and moved our toiletries again. The 3rd day we came in water was gushing out of the lighting, the soap was floating in the dish... I moved our toiletries and went to the front desk. They said they would send the head of maintenance. We came back to the room at 5 and the sink was now covered in towels and still leaking. We checked out the next morning and I tried to tell the front desk it wasn’t fixed but they told me to fill out a survey. We would go back to this hotel but they should have taken care of the issues!

Overall our vacation was excellent. However, we were very disappointed in the food. There restaurant service was extremely slow causing our wait to be over 2 hours, even when we would put our name in 30 minutes before opening. The buffet had the same foods every day and very little that interested us. Breakfast was the best meal of the day. Overall disappointed in food options.

Arrived at about 5pm and checked in within minutes, no line up at all. Room was a deal of the day tropical view, so didn’t expect the greatest room but it was good but not really close to anything (900 block). Didnt really utilize a la carte restaurants other than the Mexican for supper once and bluewater grill for lunch twice. Both were good. Grounds at the resort are near immaculate. Kudos to Beach waiter named Lemmy, fabulous service. Felix and Luis on the beach were also great. Moises and Alberto in the buffet for breakfast and lunch were also terrific. Lobby bar is beautiful and large. No seaweed at all for first 4 or 5 days. The last few days it piled up pretty heavy on the beach but water was still ok (not great). Staff worked hard to clean it up but near impossible to keep up to the seaweed. Sand on beach was great, sun was hot, drinks were cold and plentiful. Can’t complain about anything really. I would recommend the resort.

The staff makes this resort great!

Now Sapphire is a great hotel. There is a few things that they need to work on when it comes to food but other than that everything was great. I went there with my best friend and we had a good time. During the time I went (April 20-25th) there was a lot of kids. It's more like a family hotel. I'm giving an excellent rating because the staff here really love what they do and everyone is so friendly. Ivan,Jonathan (Johny) and Isaac - Thank you for the bike ride experience to Puerto Morelos and for always being so kind. Luigi (who I call Mario) and Katherine- Thank you for your exciting activities in the pool. Keep it up!!! Indrid, Jose, Diego and Victor- Thank you for always being on point with your service in the pool area. Natividad- Thank you for always taking care of us during breakfast in the buffet! Always on point. You guys rock!!!

A very chill week of sun and relaxation.

This was an amazing vacation. I needed a chance to unplug, unwind and enjoy the sun and the beach. The rooms are very nice and very clean, the food was so good (especially the breakfast and luch buffet and the French restaurant Paramour) and the staff was so great. Alfredo is my favorite waiter. He brought service to a whole new level. No one acted like they were entitled to tips but they really deserved some compensation for their efforts. The service was first class. The entertainment staff were energetic and entertaining. They really standout over the staff at many other resorts I have been to. I liked hanging out in the lobby and enjoying a glass of wine in the warm summer breeze. The beach was also great. It was my favoorite place to sit and enjoy the ocean. There is a seaweed issues. Most days were ok but a couple of days had lots of seaweed piled up on the beach. I would go back.

This place is great. The staff are what makes Sapphire stand out for us. We got in early, got checked in, room wasn’t ready, oh well we got changed and hit the pool and had cocktails. Room was ready at 3. Cesar, Antonio, Gabby, Felix at the Sandbar are AMAZING. They greet you everyday with smiles and cold drinks. The food is good and always someplace to grab at least a snack. Room was great(preferred beachfront). Clean, great view. My understanding is the rooms are being renovated, yes some things need attention but, this happens over time. If we had an issue it was immediately taken care of. The beach cleaning crews work like crazy to clean the sargassum every day in a sometimes losing battle, stop and say thank you to them as well they appreciate it they keep your beach view pretty (as best they can). We’ll be back as soon as possible.

Great stay but would recommend a few changes

Just as a prefix, we've stayed at about 6 other all-inclusive resorts in various areas and usually try to pick resorts as close to the same caliber as this one 4 to 5 stars. We are a family of 5 (3 kids) and went with another family of 5. I'll summarize the pro's and cons: Pros: -Easy fast check-in, not much waiting in line. Room was not ready yet but we got there early and expected that. -Grounds were very nice, great large pool, maintained greenery, and nice walks to your room -Very friendly staff all over the resort from bartenders to bell hops to waiters, everyone was very friendly and nice -Above average food. Compared to the other all-inclusives we've been to, the food here was better. Fresh seafood such as sea bass, fresh vegetables and other entrees and great grilled hamburgers. Restaurants were all good as well. -Rooms were fairly nice, had no complaints about the size or the amenities. Cons: -Biggest complaint was the outdoor bar hours. We got there the first day and were hanging at the beach and wanted to have a drink but the outdoor bars closed at 5pm. We then went to the pool area and they closed down at 5 as well. Really??? We had to go all the way back in to the lobby to get a drink and walk way back to the beach, this was ridiculous. Even one day we were in the pool having a great time and wanted a drink and the pool bar closed at 5 and everyone around us was also dissappointed. -Second biggest complaint was the whole non reservations for the restaurants. The first couple nights we made it a point to get to the restaurants no later than 6:15 and we had no problem getting in. However, the 3rd night as we were trying to get to the Mexican restaurant, we got there a little later and the wait was about an hour or so. We came back the 4th night and same problem. I read you can offer to buy a bottle of wine and they seat you sooner, so that's what we did. Spent $40 at an all -inclusive to get seated 30 min sooner -Third big problem wasn't really the hotels fault but the seaweed there is terrible. Makes it almost unbearable to swim. To the hotel's credit they were working hard to clean it and haul it away but it was just too much. We went to Cancun on one day for a scuba trip and almost none of the resorts we saw there had seaweed. Must have something to do with the location on the peninsula or the current, or maybe it was just their lucky day -Outside food bar closed way too early. There was a gap it seemed when you couldn't find food if you were hungry. Yes, you could go into the cafe inside but they didn't offer too much that we were interested in. When the grill was open, there was usually a long line to get a burger. -Gym was ok, nothing special, nothing bad, a little small for my taste but doable. -Liquor quality was average to below average. They tried to up-sell us to premier members to get better alcohol and other amenities but we declined, so I can't speak to that. -Nightly entertainment was average to below average comparing to others. Nothing special or exciting. The Rock show was decent. The magic show was boring. Kids fell asleep. I could go on but those are the top points that come to mind at this time. I'd give this resort a 3.5 to 4 star. Despite my negatives, we still had a great time. Hope this helps.
