We returned from a 9 day vacation at the Now Sapphire it was our first time at a Now resort but it won’t be our last. First let me say that this isn’t a new resort but it is well maintained. Please don’t hesitate booking this resort you will not be disappointed. Loved that we didn't have wrist bands and no reservations required for dining. Rooms are large with plenty of space. Couch area with two chairs and a desk very spacious. The bathroom was a small negative because the shower and tub is combined so that means you need to crawl over the tub to get in and out. Bike Tour is a great way to get introduced to the village of Puerto Morelos every day at 9:00. The bikes could be updated (handle bars are very low which cause you to be leaning over) but it only takes 25 minutes to get into town and then you can walk around and shop for about 30 minutes before biking back. If you wish you can walk via the beach to Puerto Morelos also about 40 minutes. Beach is nice but right now the Seaweed Sargassum has been in full bloom. The resort does a good job cleaning it up every day by hand and removing with a tractor! I was surprised because their sister resort Dreams has a tractor that picked it up all in one process. The resort has a nice big sandy beach area. Food was excellent! Breakfast is available in the Market Café (buffet) and in the Cibu restaurant for ala carte breakfast. Our only complaint was bacon was in short supply most days on the buffet. Bluewater Grill is open for lunch and dinner and is great with outdoor seating. Lemongrass hibachi is the typically presentation and is the only restaurant that you needed a reservations but it is fun for groups of people, you can also eat in the front part of this restaurant without reservations and they have a full menu. Fresco also is great and Able is a fabulous waiter, it’s hard to find this restaurant (through the buffet)! Paramour is the only restaurant that needs long pants and closed toes shoes for the men, also excellent. The Barefoot Grill is right by the pool and has burgers, hot dogs, chicken, meat balls, and nacho’s most days. They also set up a grill for chicken or Spanish seafood rice every day- you won’t go hungry! Service is above and beyond our expectations! We do at least one all-inclusive a year so you tend to expect good service but the NOW staff is unbelievable. I can’t tell you how many times I was carrying towels or a plate of food and someone came up to me or one of our friends and said let me help you with that. A shout out to–Front Desk - Karina Marron who handled the check-in of 4 rooms quickly, and Edgar at check-out. Armando market café manager who met us the first day and called us by name every time he saw us! Yury who helped seat us every morning. Alberto “Mr Happy Feet” and Luis who gave us great service in the buffet. Pool Bar – Pedro and Aldolfo I miss the cherry bombs! I must say I’ve never had better swim-up bar service considering it was normally just those two at a full bar and we hardly waited for a drink, sometimes I would walk up and they had my drink ready! Aldolfo enjoy your vacation! Micteha also gave us great service around the pool, my husband would whistle, she would make eye contact, he pointed and the drink was on it’s way! Lobby – Luccoro (Lucy) we missed seeing you the last few days and your sister Manuda. One shock was they allowed spring breakers, the last two days they took over much of the resort most times this is only allowed in Cancun, although the NOW was not the only resort in the area that they were at! It didn't change my over-all vacation but just not what I expected. It did make me give some tips to my college student leaving for Cancun this week, to respect those around them. Thanks for the great memories!

Me and my boyfriend stayed in this hotel for seven nights in March 2017. We both had amazing time. Food was delicious (our favourite restaurant was The Bluewater Grill - it has beautiful sea view and food is excellent). Our room was cleaned every day, towels changed daily as well. Staff in this hotel is working very hard with smile on their faces. Overall this holiday was one of our best ones and we are definitely coming back to this hotel again.

Very good for the money!

The tone of this review should not be mistaken for a negative review. We loved this resort. There was just one issue that the resort cannot control. There are so many ways to explain what a great place the Now Sapphire Resort is. If not for the entitiled, drunken, picture taking teens ( can someone say Des Moine, Iowa), this would be the best Mayan vacation resort we have ever stayed at. I will get to the teenagers later. The service was fantastic. Friendly and efficient. We had some small issues with our room early in the week and a quick phone call and someone was there to resolve the issue. TV would not go on. Apologies and it was resolved the next day. Restaurants were really good. No reservations. If there was a wait, it was short and not an issue since there was often a musician playing live music in the lobby. We never once went to the buffet for dinner. There is a spectacular view from the Bluewater Grill (steak) which made it our favorite but the Paramour ( French) was a close second, followed by the Lemon Grass Hibachi (Japanese). You need a reservation to sit at the grill but it is a fun and social experience. I had a truly awesome piece of grilled fish about three times during the week for lunch in the buffet. We did not spend much time at the pool, but there was a lot of room and although it was a busy week, someone could always find a chair. The beach was spacious and had a plethora of papalas. The bar was handy and there are many walkways which came right down to the sand. The ocean was not rocky at all but warm and refreshing. It was pretty windy all week but that is the small price you pay for such a fabulous view. I cannot say enough about the lovely and attentive senoritas serving drinks. Gabriela's, "My pleasure" was such a warm daily greeting. The young men raked the seeweed off the beach all day long. It is a much more environmental and less invasive way to keep the beach looking so good. The grounds are wildly inhabitated by tropical plants. There are two ways to get everyhwere. The outside circuitous route which got you anywhere directly. Or the winding cobblestone walkways which ambled through the vegatation and got you there in an indirect although much more scenic way. I think the planning that has gone into the lay out at Now Sapphire is the best we have seen. The workout room looked out on the ocean and had good equipment for the average person. Yoga on the grass outside was a great way to start the day. Puerto Morelas is less than an hour walk. Bring some cash. The vanila is much cheaper and the beer ( although you have to pay for it!) is cold. The lobby is big and spacious and there is almost always some form of live music playing. Couples felt free to dance or sit and talk. The nightly entertainment seemed to start earlier than most resorts but they worked hard to create a positive atmosphere throughout the lobby at night. Magic, casino night, kareoke, rock show, cultural entertainment and local vendors. We were impressed with the efforts to make the experience fun for all. If everything was not overun by drunken teens. Which brings me to the 'Army' of American Midwesters who overtook everything with such little regard for others that it sullied an otherwise awesome week for more than just ourselves. The teenagers overran the beachand lobby bars with their loud, boorish behavior and took pictures....and more pictures. What they did not do is pick up one towel or drink cup or water bottle. They left everything at their backside as they raced away to be loud and obnoxious in other parts of the resort. Was there not one parental unit who could tell the teens to pick up their own towels and clean up their own mess or watch their language or stop them from abusing the locals selling their wears on the beach. Didn't seem like it! I am sure they are lovely people in small groups but when you travel in 'packs' of 20+ and when each kid had a t-shirt that says 'Keep your friends close but your drinks closer', what do you expect? We are not old, rich people who expect too much...We are just normal people who try to enjoy our time away. These teenagers compromised this. You could not escape them....and this is coming from a high school teacher! Overall, What a great place the Now Sapphire Resort is. We loved the no wrist bands We loved the no reservations for dinner. We loved the many live musicians everywhere. We loved the service. We loved the food. We loved watching the sun come up at the beach. We loved the beach. We loved morning yoga. We loved the short walk to Puorto Morelas. We loved the cold cans of cerveza. We loved the little Corinitas in the hotel fridge. Not sure we like the unrestricted towel access. I know we are on vacation but can we not return our old used towels to the proper receptical. This was abused by more than just the teens. Also, not sure we loved the hard sales pitch for the 'Unlimitedvacation.com' speel which took much more than 90 minutes...but it did get me an 80 minute massage and spa and my wife $70.00 at the gift shop. But (spoiler alert) I am not dopping $ 50 grand on a whim.... My last tip from a fairly fit 50+ year old who drinks and eats his money's worth. Make sure to start the day with the All Bran Cereal to keep everything flowing! Man, I could go on forever. Despite the pubescent drinkers, it was a wonderful resort experience.

Great place even at school break

This was our second visit to this resort chain, our first visit to a Now resort. We were pleasantly surprised at how similar it was to the Secrets brand in terms of restaurants, layout, and services. This made it super easy to get in and get relaxed fast. While the resort itself was really busy with kids and teens because of school break, the preferred club adult pool provided a fantastic escape from the crowds. The restaurants were great, lots of variety with food, and we also really enjoyed the entertainment in the lobby bar. The rooms are clean and comfortable and also offer room service. Would definitely recommend the preferred club to get the private cabanas and other offerings. The beach is great for walking but not for swimming as it was stirred up and had lots of sea grass on the beach... that may just have been our timing however. A great report for families and couples, and only 15 minutes from the Cancun airport.
