Pictures of resort beautiful. Upon arrival was expecting more. No flower arrangements or decor to make it feel Bahamas. There were no cook outs on the beach or 🎉 party. There was not karioki in lobby really bad. Should of had servers around with exotic drinks. Men always work g and painting my on the grounds. No pictures hanging again no feeling decoration we have been on many Apple vaca and I also included my twin sister and brother law to join had rooms next to each other. I just feel the feeling was t there. At this resort for 8 days.

Very Disappointing

I booked my vacation through your travel agency hoping that this would have been a great experience. I am so disappointed in the rating that Apple gave this hotel because it was no where near a 4 or 5 star hotel. It was a 2 star hotel at the least. The Hotel was under construction, so we had to deal with the fire alarms going off for hours first thing in the morning, construction workers working right in front of our room first thing in the morning. The first room we had, there was something leaking near the sliding glass door, the door frame looked as though it was coming apart, the water faucet would not turn off once we turned it on, and mind you the room was so small and smelled like mildew. The customer service from the staff was amazing, with the exception of cleaning staff. They were not changing our sheets as requested because my sister found a dress that did not belong to either of us in her bed. This happened in the second room we moved too. The food was horrible !!! I am very disappointed with Apple because I would think that you would inspect these hotels/resorts yearly to make sure that the resort was up to the standards that you are advertising. I went through your travel agency because you guys came highly recommended from a family member of mine, and to see what I got for the amount that I paid is upsetting and very very very disappointing. Your company needs to do better by inspecting these hotels, knowing if they are under construction (and if they are they should be offered at a lower price and informing the customer so they can make a decision on if they want to proceed), my mother was a hotel inspector for the airlines and when a hotel didn't meet the criteria any longer those contracts were severed. I am very frustrated with the whole situation, but Dorrine my agent has been amazing to me throughout the whole ordeal. She wasn't aware that the resort was under construction , but she made phone calls as soon as i called her and tried to do what she could at the time and i appreciate her efforts. I feel that this resort should have been offered at a way lesser price (Like $2500 less). I thought i was going on vacation to a 5 star resort which to me says alot !!!, but sadly i did not , so I had to make the best out of the situation, which I am happy that I didn't go for my boyfriends birthday because I would have been so embarrassed with these accommodations, and I was still embarrassed with my sister being there.

We are used at staying at 5 apple all inclusives and I believe this was a 4 and that is not correct. The hotel should be rated more of a 2 or 3. The hotel is in disrepair and the staff/service were terrible, not to mention how horrible the food was. This resort was very disappointing and the only good thing was the pool and beach area.

We went to the Bahamas for our 25th anniversary. It was perfect. The beach and pool area were beautiful and very relaxing. We appreciated the beach umbrellas and nice beach chairs. The drinks were yummy and bartenders were friendly for the most part. The food was mediocre. Each dish needed a little something extra to give it a better flavor. Fresh herbs would have helped a lot. We enjoyed the restaurants more than the buffet.

You can not call a resort all inclusive if there is upgrade charges for drinks ,food exc. The game this hotel plays is with their restaurants ,they limit seating capacity to direct guests to the buffet where they recycle food from one day to the next (example one morning they had turkey and cranberry sauce. Try visiting Palace Resorts to full understand an all inclusive.

This was my second trip to Melia hotel in Nassau, and the first trip was 3 and a half years ago and the hotel has a special place in my heart and is where i met the girl i fell in love with. The hotel is currently under some renovations on the outside and from the inside pretty basic rooms and a bit dated and plain. The restaurants were o.k. and the beach is very nice. i am a contractor and deal much with decor and the finish side of projects, so maybe a little skeptical more than the average person. This is not a super upscale place but for the money was good. The staff was very friendly and helpful and over all a nice stay. We then went to Emerald bay at a Sandals resort and you really notice the difference between the two places. Sandals in Exuma was simply stunning!! the beach perfect!! the restaurants bars and landscape also perfect and had decent entertainment. Was an adults only resort and was very nice in every way. In all everything went well with some delays in checking in and getting in the room, but is one of my favorite things to do in life, and at the current time is the only way to see my girlfriend from Russia. So very special times for me and i have nothing at all negative to say. Thanks for a great trip and look forward to many more times. i would tell anyone is worth it to go and these memories last a lifetime.

Nice place, but...

Some "howevers": The Melia is situated on a beautiful stretch of beach; however, the walk, although fine in one direction, was limited to a couple hundred feet the other way. The hotel is nice; however, there are renovations in progress (good news) resulting in one restaurant being closed (bad) and the largest of three pools being closed as well (more bad) - not sure there is any warning from Apple on these things (and we had paid extra for a pool side room)!? The good news is that they arranged to have us moved upon availability the second day to a nice room with both pool and ocean views. One whirlpool (of 2) was closed down and one had no working jets or hotter than lukewarm water. Our room was nice; however, be warned that the thermostats seem to work marginally well - difficult to get a real change of temperature. Overall, the place was nice, the food was terrific, but there could have been some forewarnings about some of the deficiencies.

I booked this trip as a girls getaway for me and my cousin. We stayed in the level. We checked in at the level check in, but did not receive a towel as it states in the website. Once we got into the room we had to complain about hair being all over the bathroom floor and sink. I do have to say that when we did complain about things they made sure they were fixed right away. The next day we went to complain about our tub, the water wasn't going down and was filling up the tub. My travel agent informed us that at the level it was adults only. NO IT WASN'T! There were families on the level with toddlers. So I thought maybe our side of the beach would be kid free....NOPE! There were children at the level side of the beach also blowing into conch shells. The food was nothing to be happy about. The buffet was nothing spectacular. The drinks I have to say were on point. The activities team weren't really very involved, at least not that I saw. Last year I stayed at the Majestic Elegance in Punt Cana and honestly I should've went back there. Everything at that place was phenomenal. Nothing like that at the Melia. They do need to update the resort. Next year I think I'll try Breeze's at the Bahamas.

We spent 4 Days in this resort. I read many reviews from good to horrible. I suggest that you make your own opinion about this resort. We had a fabulous time . The drinks were excellent name brand liquor and domestic beer. the service was exceptional. I need to recognize a few of the staff members : Nikki the activities of what a blast we had at the pool with her, Callen, Fredrick, Philip, Carlos, LIL Moe . Richard the waiter at dinner at the Ogrill . The entire wait staff at the Ogrill were very pleasant and made us feel very welcomed . Concierge Claramarie was excellent whit directions help with the WiFi checking in for our return flights and boarding passes . The hotel is making upkeep, quality improvements . Yes the one pool was closed but the are installing new tile. There are 2 other pools and a ocean . The Aqua restaurant was closed do to the improvements to the staff cafeteria. The Baha Mar is within walking distance the Melia has a shuttle to take you there as well . The hotel was very clean. I had hot water and-great water pressure any time I showered. The beach was clean. There were vendors on the beach. But if you have issues with that type of thing , maybe spend the little extra for the next level . We even ventured into Nassau that was approx 15-20 min from the hotel by the 10 bus. That was $1.25 per person per trip . I have to say for my first time to an island . This experience was truly a great one . I have to thank the staff at the Melia for that . The only thing that I can say that wasn’t a positive was the one restaurant The market . The staff acted like it was painful to wait on you and it was a buffet. My experience at the Melia as a 4.3 Star

The food at the market place was always cold. I have no problem paying for a nice dinner. The only meal that we got that was good cost $170 for the steak and lobster at the Italian place. The staff didn't seem to care. Some of the staff went above the call of duty. However, one person our group bought a hat from the gift shop that broke within an hour of purchase and they refused to provide a replacement or refund.

The Melia is nice resort and the staff was very friendly and professional. Our room was on the ocean view side with a terrific view of the ocean, but, the two elevevators in the building were on the opposide of the building. To get to them we had a long walk. The one elevator of our side was not working. The biggest disappoint was the food. It was quite ordinary even for an all-inclusive. We went to the Italina ala cart restaurant once and was disappointing. I don't plan on returning.

Fantastic stay!

First time at Melia! Really enjoyed our stay! Rooms were fine- I agree with other people’s posts- some beds comfy some not as good... still fine to sleep on! Food was good! Italian restaurant was probably my least favourite which was disappointing. Never got to try Mexican. We paid for steak restaurant (I probably wouldn’t do it again) it was great but not for 300$ Canadian (though we did have a 80$ bottle of vino!) My biggestttttt suggestion if traveling with kids and enjoy them revolving around YOUR schedule is upgrading to the “level” side- for 65$US a person (kids are free) you get a day bed (which my son slept on for 2 hours every day for nap time) which meant we didn’t have to miss any of the sun by going inside for naps. They also serve you from an exclusive menu (gyro was amazinggggg) and serve you all your premium alcohol! I would def recommend this resort and would def come back! If you want to switch it up you can always walk to the new Baha Mar and have lunch/dinner there or take a 30$ taxi to Atlantis (just stay away from rush hour) what should have been a 30 min drive turns into an hour at 5pm!!! Happy Vacationing!

Beautiful ocean and people!

My husband and I, along with another couple, just spend 5 nights at the Melia, AI, in Nassau. We booked our trip with Costco travel which included airport transfer, ocean view room, $220 Costco cash card, and hotel taxes and fees at roughly $2700. This was cheaper than the actual Melia website and every other travel website, plus as Executive Members we got back 2% and 3% with the Costco Citi Visa. We were able to book a few minutes prior to boarding our flight, since we fly standby, which was an additional perk for us. We have all traveled to many countries, but this by far was the friendliest! I can't emphasize enough how wonderful the people of the Bahamas were, including taxi drivers, customs agents, tsa, but also everyone at the hotel. The beach was soft, whitish sand and gorgeous teal water with little to no waves, clean, and warmish(I'm a wimp). The resort had plenty of chairs by the beach during the day and near the adults only swim-up bar area the chairs were available in the afternoon. This pool was a good temperature. The hot tub was a nice temp as well. We have stayed at AI resorts in the past, including Melia in DR, and the food here was some of the best. Our only complaint was that we couldn't get into restaurants the first 2 nights of our stay. The first night we ate at the Tapas bar near the lobby and the second night we took a taxi to the fish fry area and ate at a local place we found on TripAdvisor. Conch and ceviche are very popular on the island. Taxi was $26 each way. Most places only take cash. We ate at the Japanese, Mexican, and Italian restaurant(reservations required) and the food was super yummy. The Italian place was our least favorite, but still good. We ate breakfast at the buffet every morning and lunch at the O grille by the pool. This resort also has a Starbucks, but they don't accept the app or gift cards so expect to pay cash or I heard they take credit cards too. We brought 60 $1 bills with us for the 5 night stay for tips, but extra cash for excursions. We did a glass bottom boat and snorkel trip (tent with rep just right on the beach where you can book) that cost $50 cash, lasted 1.5 hrs and snorkeled with turtles & lots of fish and coral. Nothing like Belize or Great Barrier reef, but still pretty and cheap. Definitely worth the money. It was a short boat ride from the resort. We will definitely come back.

Fantastic Staff but hotel not the greatest I have been to

The staff was fantastic!!! From the receptionist to the bell person to the wait staff. Our room was ready at noon even when the hotel was sold out. Food is very very good. Yes, the buffet is limited but what is there is excellent. We enjoyed it everyday. We also ordered a ton of room service. If you are not a "Level" guest, you have to pay $10 US for delivery fees plus tip. Not bad for 24 hour service. If you are not "All Inclusive" then you have to pay menu prices. The pools were nice sized. They are not heated and why would they be. We went Dec 21-29 and there was a storm somewhere so both the pools and the ocean were very very cold. Not many outdoor activities. We played a lot of ping pong but its by the ocean so the wind plays a bog factor. They have one Basketball net outside that we used. The beach has a volleyball court, small soccer nets and a Bocci pit. We used all of them and enjoyed them. The pool with the bar is adults only. It seemed fun but I did not go in there since I was with my kids. I cannot comment about their drinks but u drank their local beer and it was nice. Overall a good experience. I would recommend this place for all - inclusive. They have nicer resorts there, Atlantis and the new Bahamar resort. They have a lot more activities for their guests but they are pricier and were sold out. OOH yes. Our room was tiny. After two double beds and a small table (with no chairs), I could not really walk around without bumping into the table. I had a nice ocean view but very small balcony. Also our bed was broken BUT I did not complain and they did not fix it. I won't take points away for not asking but I do believe the bed was so broken that the daily cleaning staff should have noticed it. No points taken away but no points given here either. I am happy with my stay. My wife wasn't too impressed (but then again what else is new :)) We tried 2 off their restaurants. Italian and Japanese. Italian was good but Jap[anese was fantastic. Their Chef's speciality items are not included in the all inclusive so I paid $60-75 per meal for one speciality dish at each restaurant. I loved the Lamb shanks at at the Italian but the Snappers did not make my top 10.
