OUR FAVORITE RESORT!

Everything about this resort is fantastic. No complaints at all. We always go in January for 2 weeks and there has been nothing but improvements done in the last 10 years. The grounds, staff, amazing food, beach, cleanliness, make this resort our number 1 choice. We stayed in the levels adults only section and enjoyed the new amenities that it offered, such as the roof top bar and the levels restaurant (Quimera) exclusive for levels adults only guests. Felix Fana and Angelica Santana always make our stay special. They go out of their way to make sure your vacation is great. Ubalda, Danya, and Candida made sure you always had a full drink at the levels bar. Want to thank Felix Santana and William from the pool bar , Adrianna, Lynarda, and Bieveano from the Caribe Lobby bar for all their hard work and service that they provide. We will be back next February for our daughters wedding.... can't wait to see our Melia family once again!

Stayed in Adults Only section. Stayed 3 weeks. Excellent choice for relaxing and reading. Overall, the resort is excellent. Employees are quick and efficient but more importantly are friendly. Used the Business Center - the best one ever with up to date equipment and service. Leticia has very helpful. Liked the shuttle service. No waiting. Food and drinks are very good. Plenty of restaurants to chose from. Top notch free wi-fi. Overall: excellent value. Great holiday , Thank you Melia!!

we where a large group of 75 people and I would say for the most part we very much enjoyed our stay at the Melia Caribe. The check in was pretty darned good considering how many people we where. They offered our group drinks while waiting which was appreciated. We upgraded our room to be close to the beach, which we thoroughly enjoyed and felt was worth it. The only complaint is other people in our group did the same and the prices where all over the place, which made it seem a little shady on the resort/employee's part. We found the food to be excellent in the buffet with a ton of food choices. The a la carte restaurants are "ok" there is room to improve for sure with the quality of the food, the service for the most part was very good in the a la cartes. One night was an extreme miss in the Mexican, but we just laughed about it, it was that bad. My only major complaint about the whole thing is the beach vendors. There is a never ending pass through of these people. If the Melia really cared about their guests they would make it a NO VENDOR policy. If the guests want to shop they can walk down the beach in any direction and shop to their hearts content. I hope more people make this comment, perhaps the resorts will get the hint we don't want to be bothered on our "relaxing vacation"

Trip of a lifetime!

This was our first trip to the Dominican Republic, and Melia Caribe exceeded all expectations! The resort is stunning, filled with expansive pools, exotic wildlife, and eclectic restaurants. This was all made possible thanks to Edward Nunez, whose attention to detail and unparalleled professionalism made for the perfect vacation. Unforgettable trip and we can’t wait to come back again next year!

Stayed at this resort because friends were getting married . We arrived around 3:30-4pm . Checking in was a slow process but this was mainly because we were a large group. There was a little mix up with being told we were given an upgrade and not actually receiving the upgrade upon arrival. This was okay seeing as we were a large group and all of our rooms were relatively close to each other ! The lady who took care of us at check in was absolutely wonderful.. her name may have been Rosa (?) .. she made sure we all had something to drink and was patient with all of our check ins ! After a long day of travelling , she was absolutely a dream to work with! The restaurants were wonderful, our favourite being the Italian restaurant . The Mediterranean restaurant being a close second. With some restaurants we found the portions to be small and the waiters did get annoyed if we were a large group ordering double the order of something . For example ; in the Italian restaurant, you only get four pieces of the gnocchi as an entree .. most people eat more than this and would want 2 or 3 orders of the gnocchi . The lamb at the Italian restaurant was very delicious. The Mexican restaurant was the only one open late for a late night snack .. and the food was mostly the same every night . The beach and pool area were very well maintained . We were always able to find somewhere to sit , even with a group as large as ours . Every evening around 8:30 ish there was a show going on in the main lobby near the bar .. but you unless you asked a staff , you wouldn’t know that . Our cleaning lady was amazing and very very kind ! Unfortunately neither of us got her name.. she always made sure we had plenty of water and towels . She was very patient with us if we were still lingering in our rooms when she came to clean . The resort is huge , be prepared to do some walking . They do have a tram that provides rides around but often times we spent far too long waiting for it . Staff in golf carts also were very generous in helping us get to where we wanted to go . We stopped in the store near the sports bar and there is lots to see in there . If you forget anything for your trip (medications, shampoos , deodorant , pool toys, etc), take a look around in there . They’ll probably have it ! Lastly ! The staff who took care of us on the wedding day were wonderful! The couple chose to have the reception on the beach and as we arrived there for dinner , it was pouring rain . The staff were really patient and really amazing at keeping things together despite the rain! Thank you ! I would definitely travel to this resort again!
