First all inclusive trip, had a fabulous time!

This was my sister and I's first all inclusive trip and we absolutely loved it! From the moment we stepped into the hotel, we were greeted with a specialty drink and taken to a room for elegance club members only. There we met our butler, Arling, who was the sweetest thing! Our first night he reserved a spot at the Japanese restaurant for us and it ended up begin the best restaurant at the resort and we had a blast with chef Alex!! The bartenders were great and the Funjestic team did a fabulous job entertaining during the day and at night. Each night my sister and I ate dinner then went to the plaza to listen to live music and dance. The entertainment crew pulls you on the dance floor and let you have just a great time! Overall, I didn't want to leave and will definitely be back soon!

At nearly the last possible minute we booked this trip to Punta Cana based on price and reviews of the resort. The name says it all, this place is Majestic. We could not have been happier with the accommodations and the travel arrangements. All in all a perfect trip in paradise. Can't wait to go back!

Fourth trip back to Majestic Elegance
DAVID B.
Mar 14 2017
Flight out of Portland, ME was cancelled due to weather in the mid-west not allowing our plane to arrive for our departure. United was very helpful in getting us booked on Delta but we had to cab it to the bus station and bus it to Boston. Delta flight was delayed twice with an already tight connection at JFK. Our connecting flight took off 5 minutes early so needless to say, we never had a sporting chance to catch it. That was the last flight for the day to Punta Cana. Delta got us scheduled for early the next morning and paid for the lodging. Hilton Garden in staff were very pleasant and the room was more than adequate. Dinner next door at the Sheraton was exceptional and should be paid for by my AVOK insurance. Landed in the DR and we were on the resort by 2:30. This was our fourth stay at the Elegance so we knew what we wanted. Check in for the Club members was a little slow and off in a back room. Felt more like I was waiting to be approached about a timeshare. Got the same Butler as last year, Santo, so that was pretty nice. He was able to switch our room to the Elle side of the resort which is the side we prefer as it is closest to our favorite bartender, Maxima! We met up with two other couples that we met last year at the resort and a great time was had. The weather was not the best we have had in Punta Cana but we did not let that dampen our spirits. Room had a leak in it from the jacuzzi in the room above us. They wanted to switch our room for us but wanted to move us to the opposite side of the resort for the last day and a half. Wasn't worth packing up and moving so we politely declined and stayed in the room for the last two days. Will return again next year. See no other need to visit a different resort on that island.

First Time in Punta Cana, Will Come Back!

Traveled with another couple for a pre-holiday craziness getaway and had a blast! This was the first time either of us had stayed at a Majestic resort and was overall happy with the accommodations. We've stayed at a Secrets (Montego Bay, Jamaica, AMAZING) and a Sandals (Bahamas, terrible experience) and found Majestic to be right up there with Secrets. Couple pros and cons, listed in no particular order: Pros: -super comfy bed, great pillows -quiet rooms -stayed in the Elegance club and it was well worth it, snacks and drinks at your fingertips whenever you need a quick bite -amazing butler, Emmanuelle who brought professionalism, humor and charm to every conversation -good liquor in the Elegance Club pool bar, well liquor at other bars -as a wine drinker, they offer 3 house wines: chardonnay, merlot and rose. All were decent. -plenty of beach chairs, cabanas and personal space at the pool and beach Cons: -as a wine drinker, found it unfortunate that their wine list at restaurants wasn't stellar. Not in quality, but variety and quantity. I typically drink dry riesling (they had 1), sauvignon blanc (1) and prosecco (one listed on the menu but didn't have any in stock the entire trip.) -sounds silly but ended up being a consistently annoying feature: there isn't a handle on the outside of the sliding glass door in your room...meaning you need to use your fingertips to pry open the door if you are sitting on the balcony. The AC turns off automatically if you leave it open slightly to help with opening the door, annoying and weird but not a huge deal. -multiple restaurants (Flavors, the Sports Bar) were under construction so we had the option of 4 others which were all decent/okay. -the smoke detector in the room flashed a VERY bright neon green light all night so my husband and I ended up putting band aids over it to mute it Overall, great service, beautiful beach and fun time!

I just returned from my sixth visit to this resort and I cannot say enough good things about it. The staff is extremely friendly and accommodating, the resort is beautiful and so is the beach. We stayed in the Club section so we had a butler and an adults only area to swim and enjoy the beach. This was a "girls" trip and we had great fun!

Amazing Resort, Great Service!

I was married at the Majestic Elegance in September of this year. I was there from 9/15/17 to 9/21/17 (married on 9/18). We have been to many resorts, and we immediately felt like we found "home" when we arrived at the Elegance. We have no plans to travel to other resorts in the Dominican Republic (and will return here over Mexico resorts as well). We stayed in an Elegance Club one bedroom swim-up suite, room 2155, and it was perfect. It was a swim-up but also had an ocean view, we were steps from the Elegance Club lounge, a bar, and the Sea & See Restaurant. It's the farthest building from the lobby, but it's still only a 4/5 minute walk, and I would much rather be beach front! We checked in at the private Elegance desk, and were escorted to our room by our butler, Santiago. I can not say enough good things about Santiago. He was kind, funny, and always helpful. He took care of us throughout our stay, making dinner reservations, drawing us a special bath on our wedding night, and regularly just checking in. He really was great! The day before we were to leave, Hurricane Maria hit the island and put a damper on things, but we still had a great time. We did have to move rooms as we were too close to the ocean to be safe, but we knew if was for our safety. Besides on long night of high winds and cabin fever being stuck in our room, we made the best of it. We were delayed going home an extra day, but all was well in the end. All of the staff was great, the bartenders were friendly and fast, and the drinks were strong. Rosa at the Elegance Club pool bar was my favorite bartender, and person, at the whole place. She's the best! The food was so-so - the steak house was great and the Sea & See was good, but most things didn't blow me away. Nothing was bad, just not mind blowing. Braudy in the Italian Restaurant was great though - great service! We had special wedding wrist bands that allowed us access to the other Majestic Resorts during our stay (Colonial was under construction so we could only go to Mirage). We had lunch at the Mirage sea side restaurant and it was GREAT, I thought the food there was better, but I liked the environment of the Elegance more. The wedding team at Majestic is amazing as well. We eloped, and had a very small group, so there wasn't much to do, but they made sure we still have a wonderfully special experience. Ileana was our wedding coordinator and she was fabulous. Our wedding photos were shot my Junior Cruz at Tropical Studios and he did a great job, too. There were a couple shots I wanted that I forgot to ask for, but they are very accommodating, so if you get photos taken and there's something particular you want, be sure to speak up! Overall, we had a wonderful trip, a wonderful wedding, and a wonderful experience all around. We can't wait to go back!

We stayed at the Majestic elegance club for 5 nights in October. First off the property is gorgeous. Everything is meticulous and clean and well taken care of. We took the option at booking through Orbitz for the Club portion and I think it was only $20/night more for that option. On the fence if it was worth it or not. We got additional Club lounges that had sandwiches, snacks, and drinks available. There were a couple of extra bars and a separate area on the beach. Maybe if you went during the busy time of year where these extra options would really pay off but I with no wait at any bar ever, I don’t think it was necessary. You did have separate pools with bali beds which is good but I’m there for the beach – I have a pool at my house! Our room was a junior suite and very nice. The lay out was great and our room overlooked the main pool. You could hear the music in there but honestly who spends much time in your room? The “butler” was Jacob and he was outstanding. Very kind and accommodating. Our room smelled so heavily of rose petal perfume it was nauseating to walk in. After you got used to breathing in the sickly sweet smell you forgot about it until you went out on the balcony or left the room and came in. Jacob did everything he could to help from offering to switch rooms to bringing in extra aroma therapy oils (which did help). I read bad stories of people switching rooms and wasting half a day to get it done so I was afraid of trying that. He helped with making dinner reservations and refilling our fridge with desired items. He was always around from the beach, to the different lounges. Check in was easy if not lengthy. We sat in a private lounge drinking their Majestic welcome drink and having a snack waiting for them to put together our paperwork. Once we got to our room we must have waited another 30 minutes for bags. I honestly could have and should have just wheeled my own bag to the room. The whole process was probably close to an hour when all I wanted to do was run out to the beach! There are plenty of dining options to make anyone happy. There wasn’t very good communication regarding this however. I got a flyer at check in giving us all of the dining options and that was about all that was said. We went to the buffet on night two just to find dessert and it was closed. What? Another guest told us it was shut down for now and we could use the Mirage buffet – that was never told to us. On Saturday night I was so excited to try the Sea and See for dinner as I read all about the lobster! We get there and Saturday night it’s turned into a BUFFET. So no lobster. Then our last night on Sunday was a beach party – so another buffet. We missed out on the lobster dinner. As a club member you are supposed to have this: Exclusive access to "Il Botaccio" restaurant for breakfast and lunch a la carte service (straight off their website). We went there one morning for breakfast before an excursion and it was closed up tight. So we ran to the Mirage for BUFFET. Coming back another day from an excursion I asked someone where we could eat that wasn’t BUFFET. She told me Limited gourmand (which is the French restaurant at night). Okay – so we went there and it was good. So the lack of communication on hours and availability and what’s going on was frustrating. Many times the buffet food was luke warm or cold but you could always find something that was decent. The steak place was okay, the French place was really good (dress code to some was jeans and tennis shoes) and the hibachi was fun and tasty. I enjoyed most breakfasts at See And Sea as it was on the beach and you could sit right out in the open air and have an amazing view. It’s funny, they would always try to sit us inside by the food – no! I want to smell the air and see the ocean! The brochure and website says breakfast is at 9:30 but every day we ate there early. More lack of communication. Service everywhere was outstanding and you never had to wait long. Again – maybe because it was a down time for them. Several days at the main pool there were 10-15 people only. Now on the foam party day – it was packed and a lot of fun. The animation team walks around and recruits people for games and activities both on the beach and at the pool – they did a great job. The beach is beautiful but unfortunately they cannot win the war on seaweed. There was always a crew out there bagging it up. The water was filled with it so swimming right there was icky. Funny, tho you could walk about ¼ mile north and there wasn’t any seaweed. Must just be where the tip of the island is and the location of this resort. The nightly entertainment never starts on time but is really enjoyable. Except the one night it was audience participation night (I thought I was going to see a real show and all I saw was a bunch of middle-aged, overweight guys taking their shirt off and dancing awkwardly trying to get the audience to cheer for them). That was disturbing and I left. The crew of singers and dancers have a lot of talent and the shows were great. We never made it to the disco or sports bar. After day drinking, sun and activities we were done after the music shows! We went to the casino a couple of nights – it is TINY! Not what I expected for sure. There was construction to the other resort over there and their Caribbean street with shopping was closed. The only other thing I had an issue with is the smoking. There didn’t appear to be any non smoking areas. And while out on the beach party enjoying the dinner and music you’re coughing on the smoke at the table next door. I can’t stand cigarette smoke and having it anywhere is buzz kill. I didn’t really see much to do outside of the resort – you stay in the gates of the compound and can walk up and down the beach. The island area is very sad and you don’t realize it beyond the glitz and glamour of the beautiful resorts. So over all tips: don’t trust the brochures for dining options/hours. Bring a Yeti style cup and the bartenders will refill those for you instead of getting the tiny paper cups or plastic cups. We brought papasan spring floats and those were awesome in the pool and ocean. Don’t forget your sunscreen – that sun is INTENSE! (We didn’t experience a bug one even though others had mentioned the severity of mosquitoes). If you take a tour – take one by Punta Cana Mike and learn more about this island, Haiti and the people that make your vacation awesome. I love to learn about where I am and not just be in my ignorant glitzy compound. I would definitely recommend The Majestic Elegance!
