I haven't finished vacation yet but, sadly have time to write so here goes: Having a great time but day 5 in and wondering what we are going to do for the next 2. Small pool and not much goes on besides a little bingo and some late afternoon antics, (which is OK by me, actually). Beach is 2 long sets of stairs away from the main hotel (including the banos). There's a bar and limited wait staff there. Beach is nice but tiny. A few waves to bounce around in. No activities. Meal time is very well served by the main buffet restaurant. Again steps everywhere, at least 2 or 3 sets of 2 or 3 steps for all 3 meals. The food is awesome in my opinion for such a small hotel. Service a bit hit or miss but most of your needs will be served. Don't bother with the alacartes. We only tried Italian (which is all we could book for the whole week with the "wonderful" app they want you to use. Left the alacarte still hungry only to find lobster and other such tasty items at the buffet. Lobby bar is great and the evening activity hub. Roberto runs everything well but if there is Canadian Club on the bar menu, the hotel should make sure its available. Our room was nice. Bathroom could use a larger vanity, hard to get his and hers stuff around the sink. Get a room with a balcony. We had a great ocean view but could only observe from inside. Something missing there, my choice at booking not the hotels problem. Only other item of note is the tours we booked through the hotel. El Valle Zip line was great, will review separately but also booked Los Haitses National Park and Cayo Levantado Beach whole day tour. This was sooo disappointing. I had hoped for an educational and inspiring trek through one of the greatest gems of Dominican history and throughout the long ride there only got a rum tour with a guide who made sure we had lots to drink and though he spoke 3 or 4 languages only talked to us with the boat drowning out him out and shuffling between languages so we mostly missed anything useful that may have been spoken. We never did go to the "typical" Dominican house. Such a disappointment. So beautiful an area and so much geography and history all went down as a foot note. Not to say don't go here but do your homework and don't get ripped off. The beach part of the tour was pretty much cookie cutter. Beach lunch and afternoon bouncing around in lovely waves. Nice, but hotel has shuttles to Cayo Levantado every day. Don't spend money on a "guided" tour. This hotel is beautiful. Beware of a lot of stairs. Also very small and limited activities. Amazing food. Great to go once, nice area but the food isn't enough. Going to different hotel next time.

Nice resort but boring

This was a nice hotel with friendly people and beautiful views. The only problem entretainmet super boring and evrything shuts down at 11pm including bar. Perhaps is because employees work crazy hours abd 12 days straight until they get a day off all were exausted. if u looki g for a place to relax sleep n go under the sun this is it really nothing else to do there.

Super Excellent!

We stayed for 7 days, from Nov, 10 - 17, in Rm. 2110, which was a marvelous experience! The entire hotel staff is absolutely fabulous! Animation folks - Barbie, Daniel, as well as others were fantastic! Our servers, especially Jose Antonio, but also Mr.Green and Felix, as well as other staff members were so accommodating to our every desire. The entertainment was unique and absolutely wonderful - everyday different, but extraordinary! Also and very importantly, this hotel is kept spotlessly clean! We will definitely return!

A Great Escape

Five days in Samana was a needed respite. While looking for a beach vacation we wanted to avoid the crowds. Bahia Principe fit the bill. The hotel was like being on a cruise ship. The food was good, hotel not overcrowed. Just enough beach to share. We chose a Junior suite. It was comfortable and on an upper floor. Staff were nice too.

First time in Samaná and Luxury Bahia principe. You cannot compare to hotels in Punta Cana. (Party town) this place is a peaceful resort with incredible views of the ocean wherever you are. Sitting at the buffet or sitting by the pool, the view is just spectacular! The beach is well maintained, very clean. not very big but just perfect nonetheless. Everything is clean and well maintained. The Food was amazing at the buffet. Best buffet that we ever had, lots of choices grilled meat, fish and lobster with themed nights (Mexican, Italian) Our favorite was the Rodizio, Brazilian. Only downfall is that we could only make one reservation per restaurant, so we couldn’t go twice to the same. I say downfall but in Fact the buffet was even better. It’s an adult resort so if you expect a discotheque and party on like in Punta Cana it’s the wrong place for you. You can have you own fun dancing at the pool at night We had lots of fun. The employees are so nice and you get always a hello and a smile from them. They work hard and deserve a tip !! Animation crew were incredible, special thanks to Daniel. very nice and attentive. Ramon the pool bartender is amazing ! Yonelphis at the reception is so kind and patient. Special mention to a few servers, they were are great but these stand out Eliu, Jose, Wendy. I would definitely go back !
