Wonderful Vacation!!!

Stayed here 1st week of September. Sometimes i wonder if i stayed at the same resort and if people are reviewing the wrong hotel. Overall, 8/10! Worth the money for sure! Let me break it down: Us: we are a couple, in our early 30s, not into partying but more into serenity and enjoy some live entertainment. Beach: we saw seaweed on 1st day. After that, it disappeared 90%. Which is weather/ocean permitting so we were lucky. Our beach was cleaned in morning and all through out the day. Last 4 days we had almost 0 seaweed in water and on beach. We would reserve our umbrella/chairs at 8am no problem. If you want front row then yeah, get up at 6am. If you're ok with 2nd or 3rd row, 8am is fine. If you dont care at all, then through out the day there are at least 10 empty beach/umbrellas which is amazing! Room: room was spotless everyday and most night they would do turn down service while we were out for dinner. Chocolate on pillows was much appreciated. Mini-fridge had beer, pop, chips, and small bottles of vodka/rum. All free and re-stocked daily. Loved the huge tub. Water was hot everyday, all day, and the water pressure was amazing. I would take bath and my boyfriend would do shower at same time no problem. AC worked very well, were freezing some nights so we had to turn it down. Food: buffet was great on first few nights then we got bored. 1st world problems right. Plenty of fish/meat/chicken to choose from at lunch/dinner. Even for breakfast they had chicken and fish. Lots of choices. Tuesday is seafood gala (lobster, crab). Breakfast was omelette station, hot porridge, all kinds of other stuff. Restaurants: French, Brazilian, Peru/Asia - my favorite was Peru Asia just because it was a very interesting mix and food was delicious. Chicken at Brazilian was to die for. French had amazing lobster. Entertainment: you can visit other hotels (except Fantasia) for nightly entertainment. We suggest Michael Jackson and Disco night at this resort. Both are shows and you sit and watch but lots of fun. Lion King at another resort was ok. No straws at all at this resort so bring your own metal one that you can keep using if that's an issue for you (it's a bit hard to mix alcoholic drinks so i had to drink a bit and then swish it around). Also, the Prestige Club or what ever it's called - oh my gosh, dont go please - they'll grab you and offer you a free gift (bag with towel/tshirt or Dominican package with rum, etc.) in exchange of 1 hour of your time for a time share type of thing. I've been to only 1 other time share and this one almost made me cry. The Girl was fine who talked to us first but her "Manager" is this big body builder looking dude and he was so rude and mean - kept asking us how much money we have, and if we plan to buy a house and have kids. When we said we don't know he said "What do you mean you don't know, it's a yes or no" so then my fiance got mad and... that put a damper on our day. If we only knew... they said they will give us a Tour of Fantasia Resort and that's it... but that never happened instead we sat in our semi wet bathing suits and were harassed. Shame. Overall good experience, and i would come back!!!

One of the cart drivers, Angel, was amazing. Dropped us off at restaurants and then picked us up after. All the staff friendly and seemed happy to be working there. Everyone joined in the dancing. Food was unbelievable. Especially the Peruvian restaurant

Tranquil, relaxing, beautiful....delicious

We really enjoyed our stay at the Ambar Blue. Everything was so conveniently located. From the beach to the restaurants, everything was within a few minutes walk. The food was fantastic, both at the buffets and the restaurants. We traveled there last April and we are planning to go back again next April (2019).

3 days of heaven now Hell
