Had a good time, but will never go back

Let me start by saying to believe all the reviews you've read here. Prior to arriving, I obsessed over the reviews and wondered how a place could be so horrible to some, and so horrible to others. If you are a huge stickler for perfection or are snobby in any way: don't come here. This isn't the place the for you. I'm not a stickler for anything and am overall pretty easy going. I also traveled with a group of friends and all-in-all had a good time. That being said, staying here made me realize that I should start shelling out a bit more coins for the real all-inclusive experience. This is a budget hotel. There's no frills or bells and whistles. The grounds are very beautiful and maintained day in and day out but the rooms are dated and dirty. The shower head was molded, the jacuzzi could've definitely been cleaned better and the beds were incredibly hard. Again, I dealt with all of it but the fact that I took note of it made me a bit uncomfortable. The food is hit or miss. I love food, its one of the things I look forward to most when going on vacation. We ate an a la carte 4 out of the 5 nights we were there and the buffet for breakfast/lunch. One thing they really know how to cook here is meats, all the meats were cooked pretty well. As for the a la cartes El Olivo: I truly do not know why this place was so highly recommended, it was easily the worst meal of the whole trip. We wanted to eat at Don Pablo but it was closed due to construction. Garden Grill: The best meal of the whole trip. I still think about that ribeye from time to time. Teppanyaki: The show was decent and the food LOOKED like it was going to be delicious. However, he put so much soy and hoisin sauce that it was the only flavor you could taste. Bella Italia: I genuinely don't even remember my meal from here. What I remember was my friend had to try two different meals and one was under and the other over. She was very disappointed The buffet was very touch and go. I would definitely recommend checking when they open for various meals, because of that's when the food will be hot. They do have a lot of made to order items like omelets and pasta so I would capitalize on those too. One thing Bahia does right is serve drinks which are readily available pretty much everywhere. One thing that's also kind've spotty is the service. There are some people who really seem to genuinely enjoy their jobs and others who will ignore you or give you an attitude. It was actually pretty strange. The ones who did enjoy their jobs were very fun to be around. We went during the big seaweed issue, so we did not go in the ocean, but we did sit on the beach at night so that was actually pretty fun. We also went to the disco every night, because we just wanted to party, but its literally just techno and smells like pure vomit (EVERY NIGHT haha). All in all, I had a good time, because my friends and I make anywhere a great fun time, but Bahia itself left a lot to be wanted and made realize that I need to start aiming a bit higher when it comes to my vacations because I'm tired of subpar experiences. If you have any questions, please contact me because I know what it's like to read reviews and still want to know more, I'd be more than happy to help!

We had a wonderful time at Luxury Bahia Príncipe Amber Green. The check in process was fast as Eduar at the front desk was very efficient, friendly, and helpful. The rooms are spacious and clean and beds are comfortable. Bathrooms are large, bright and have no issues with hot water or towels as we experienced at other resorts. Food is delicious and the buffet has variety of items. There are several La-Carte resturants that require reservation. These include but not limited to Japanese (our favorite),Brazilian, Italian, and Mexican. Swimming pool is lovely and very clean with many chairs and umbrellas. The beach is ok except there are seaweed but it is beyond the resort control. I woul like to acknowledge the friendless and the help of the resort staff. If I visit Punta Cana again, I will definitely stay at Amber Green. Thanks to everyone who helped us to enjoy our trip.

Very nice

Resort is very nice. Rooms are clean, people are very courteous and food was good. The a-la-carte restaurants are amazing. We were there to relax so did not get involved in any activities except the gym.

We arrived at the hotel not to disappoint, they brought our cases to our room and showed us the safe, mini bar, iron, the room service. The mini bar is replenished every day,In our room it was a special occasion we were greeted with a bottle of wine and chocolates, The bed is massive and very comfortable, I’m used to hard pillows so I downloaded the app off the hotel website and ordered hard pillows. PERFECT. The maids were in every day cleaning and then they come back at around 6pm to 7pm to see if you need any towels.when you download the app you can book room service. It takes them around 45 mins to get it to u so bear with them , you can also book the restaurants off the app, do this in advance or you won’t be able to get in. Men only have to wear long trousers in the French restaurant at the amber green all the rest you can wear shorts . Pools , there are three mains pools and a jacuzzi pool , the main pool near the bar is where the entertainment is , it’s very loud and they will only get you involved if you are round the main swim up pool they don’t go to the other two pools , at the jacuzzi pool you don’t hear the music , the waitresses come to u and get you drinks and please tip these ladies they r good and cheerful. I was told you can’t get snacks at the pool bar only sushi I went to the reception and asked where can get a snack they said down at the beach. The second week they were serving toasted sandwiches. At the pool there is a towel centre where you can get fresh towels every day from the nice man there . The buffet restaurant is very good always something for the fussy eater and you can eat here at night but I strongly advise you try the a la carte restaurants they were all superb Beach. The beach is a better place to sunbathe, there’s a breeze, plenty of sun beds in the adult area section attached to the hotel and a buffet to eat and the waitress comes round. The seaweed is a pain they are raking it and if u swim out probably wouldn’t feel it Entertainment at night , this is not aimed at anyone only the Spanish ! I asked the man playing music if he could play some English , feel on deaf ears , again the entertainment team don’t include everyone , In the hotel in the early hours it’s very noisy with late night party goers we tried to ring reception but no answer. But we reported it so they will be onto it. Theme nights in the buffet ! Again cater for everyone crept the English , they have American , Italian, Spanish and Dominican nights. NO ENGLISH NIGHTS ! Trips , we went on three trips, the outback safari, terra cross and Sanoa island. All fantastic trips . The only bad thing about this country is the excessive mosquitoes, you really need to protect yourselves from them . There are some negatives on this review but the management and the staff are working really hard to please , if you have any complaints. Speak to the complaints manager whilst you are the hotel and he will do his utmost to help you. His name is Michael, All in all a great country , lovely people and the hotel is fantastic, they just need to tweet some things about it but I know they take reviews on board and go out of their way to help everyone. Every day you are asked if everything is ok with your room , please tell them while you are there cos they will help you

If it is a relaxing holiday you want, then this is the place. I will begin with the positives, The rooms are very clean and ample size, the beds are queen size and very comfortuble, there is an option of a pillow menu so that you get the pillow that you are used to. The aircon in the room is very sufficient to keep the temperature down and makes life at night a lot easier to deal with. The balcony is of average size, although we didnt sit out due to lowering the risk of being bitten by the mosquitos. The bathroom has a rain fall shower cubicical with the hand held head to make life a little easier after being on the beach. There is also a bathtub with with jets, we didnt use ours but i presume this would be relaxing. Room service is every morning and then again in the afternoon you are offered more clean towels if required. There is an all night butler service to your room, yoiu can order food or drink, the minibar in the room is topped up daily and no extra charge is applied. There are also little extras available to make your stay more personal, you can order these on the room phone or on the hotels app. The pool area is equally as impressive, split into 3 large pools they are maintained every day and kept very clean, there are claen towels available every day to use at the pool or beach. Being an adult only hotel, you do get a little more peace and quiet than the sister hotels where children are allowed. One disapointing issue about the pool area, depending on what you want from your holiday, is the entertainment, it is very loud at times usually between 11am and about 3pm. You can minimize this by going to the far end of the pool where there is the option of the jacuzzi area, the distance makes the loud music not as annoying. The majority of the music is also aimed at the Spanish speaking holiday makers rather than the English speaking guests. The beach is a short walk or even quicker you can jump on one of the hundreds of trolly buses available to everyone to get around. There is an adult only section which does not get to busy at the moment but i should imagine this will change once Ambar Blue reopens in November 2018. also by the adult area is the beach BBQ, where there is ample choice of food between certain times. The sea is nice and the sand is really fine and soft, there was an issue with seaweed while we were there, but the hotel is attempting to keep this at a minimum by having staff rake it away as it lands on the beach. There are numerous a la carte restuarants on the whole resort which have different themes, such as Dominican, Brazillian, japanese Tepenyaki, French, Italian, Asian, Italian,Grill, Fish.and many more, all are very good, we were not fond on the Dominican option but all the others are top quality. You will need to book your table in advance, i suggest strongly getting the app and using that, but do try and book a week in advance to get the time slots you require, do not wait while the day previous you will not get in. There are also various buffet restuarnts around the site. The eveneing entertainment is where the resort fails in my opinion, every hotel has its own lobby bar with entertainment, the qulaity of entertainment was poor with the exception of maybe 3 or 4 nights, again it is mainly aimed at the Spanish speaking holiday makers which is a massive let down in my opinion, often only Spanish type music is played. The entertainment team are not to exciting either, i often thought the evening was to please their personal desire to dance the night away, often the only people on the dance floor were the entertainment team, spontainiously nipping into the audience to grab the hand of a lady in an attempt to get her to dance, 95% latin music, is again why i feel this is an area the hotel needs to work on improving. our visit was our Honeymoon, we were treated to a few niceties on arrival, with a ribbon and balloons on out hotel room door and a bottle of bubbly left in our room for us, we also had the sprinkling of rose petals on our bed in the love hear shape, Nice touch.. Our room was on the ground level of the 84 block, which unfortunatly means you will be woken up every night around 3am by the late night drinkers who are returning from the beach bar, this is a big problem as the corridorts are so long and the marble consruction means the sound travels all the way down the corridors, request a room on the 1st or 2nd floor to avoid this annoyance. What the resort needs as well is a conveinience store, for the basic things in life, there is always a need to visit the shop for something, we had forgotten a very basic everyday item, but could not purchase one anywhere, you can leave the resort, but there is not really anywhere to go shopping, i undserstand there is a shopping mall back towards the airport, but we didnt go so cannot comment, but still a long way to go for a hair brush. We travelled with TUI who do some great days out which are bookable through the visiting rep. we went on the outback tour which is very good, there are the buggies which is also a good day out, but the one you need to do is the Saona island visit, its an all day trip and takes you to an amazing natural pool in the middle of the ocean, where the water is around 4 ft deep, you can see the starfish on the sea bed. The tour guides are all great and very informative, and give you lots of other information on local life outside the luxury of the hotels.
