I was refer to different hotels in the area that are in the town of Loreto. Loreto bay resort is about a 10 minutes drive from the town and about a 45 minute drive to San Javier. For the money is the best place to stay in the area of Loreto. Your stay includes a couple of free activities, you got kayaks, paddle borders, bicycles, and snorkel gear.Rooms are clean and spacious. The food is delicious and if you go in April kids under 11 eat free, big plus. There is also a bunch of villas around the resort, there is a small coffe shop El Corazon, also delicious. Last day there was hard to leave specially for the kids. We met the GM of the place the last day too, Rene Huitron. Great person super nice and to top it of he gives a parting gift which will never forget. Thanks again for the great experience we had and for the machaca. More>

Golf Course Only review

This is probably the worst course that I have played more than once, however, because there is no other place to golf in the area, and because of their pricing, it is better than nothing. The back nine actually isn't too bad, much better design and conditions than the front, but still is lacking. The front 9 has mixed grass/weed fairways, rough sandy/muddy paths and is quite spread out. The bunkers on the whole course are terrible, no sand in them, some full of water and others growing weeds & rocks. The greens are all pretty good and consistent. I bought a week long pass but only went 3 times as I had no desire to return. Essentially, it becomes a 9 hole course because the back is where everyone plays. I recommend walking for a couple reasons. 1) it's not a hard walk & 2) the power carts a terrible. Sometimes they only last a hole or two. If you make it through 9 holes make sure that you change to another one because you won't make 18 holes before it dies. More>

One night stay after return from whale camp. It was okay and the rooms were spacious. It is a little way off of the waterfront area and that is the reason i would not want to stay here again. It is good value and the staff were very helpful and welcoming. More>

This is a nice enough hotel. It is not nearly as plush and high end as it appears on the website. The rooms very basic. It is also not close to downtown. Check in was disorganized and not allowed until the room was actually ready, making it less convenient to use the restaurant and bar as we could not charge things to the room. That said the rooms, the grounds of the resort and the beach were very clean, the staff was accommodating, the views from the rooms were excellent. We only stayed two nights and did not use the spa or golf although another guest told me they had an extremely good deal on a golf package. A plus in Baja as golf in most places is expensive. There are a number of restaurants walking distance from the hotel. We would consider staying here again although would prefer to be in town. More>
