Golf by the sea

Golfer's bucket list. This review is only for golfers of any level. Why waste time on crowded golf courses? Play any time you want...no waiting. Just watch the weather report, compare it to your other wonderful options in this town and on this beach, and play when it works for you. Every hole is memorable. Most have ocean or inland water! Rent clubs. Rent a cart or not. Grass driving range for $5. Have fun, relax. PS They invited me to the "Friendlies & Employees Scramble" hosted 6 to 12 time a year. Put in plenty of peseos; Perfect. I won dinner for 2 in town!

Nice hotel in outstanding location poor maintenance

First the good Located in Nopolo bay the views of the sea of Cortez are really nice. At least in January the place is not crowded and most of the people wandering around are nice canadians that come to pass the winter in the nearby village. The arquitecture of the hotel is very nice a combination of modern mexican and colonial. Access to the beach is a plus just a few steps from most rooms Staff is very friendly The not so good Manteinance is very poor which diminishes the experience The gym is a joke they just used two independent guest rooms one for weights and the other for cardio very old equipment. I used one of the kayaks that they have for guests to use. In the middle of the Sea it tipped over and a nice Canadian had to help me. The reason it did not had a valve and water so water came in and there was no way to take it out. Although hotel staff apologized and went to rescue the kayak and said they received a report about the problem after several days no one fixed it. If you are strict about cleaning this is not your place, they will not clean thoroughly and as it seems they are understaffed they will do it past 4 pm Food was ok but not great Don't get me wrong we had a great stay but if what you expect is superlative service and attention to detail you should look somewhere else.

Winter holidays in cold water

I came to Baja to spend some warm winter holidays, running away from the cold European weather. Hoping to find a decent Jacuzzi where I could relax under the stars, instead, I found a Jacuzzi with colder water than the pool where I could not stay more than 5 mins before freezing. When I asked the receptionist if there was a way to "turn on" the Jacuzzi he told me there was no way and that the actual temperature was the only one, there was no way to regulate the water temperature. Then I went to take a shower and I could not get hot water there either. During the day I am out, doing on some sightseeing tours, but it's sad not to be able to end the day as I wish in the hotel.

Excelent resort at front beach

This is an excellent alternative when visiting Loreto. My wifw and I stayed for 4 nights on November 20th. Special rate of 80 dollars for two per night including bufett breakfast with very good food. Snorkeling at the beach of the hotel is very good. Golf court has some excellent views of land and sea, mountains backward and sea at front. The village built around the resort is really nice, mix of Arizona and México style with good restaurants and coffee shops. Sea is a little cold on November so probably Cctober will be somehow better. Tours for seeing and swimming with Sealions are available and excellent to experience.

First Wedding Anniversary!

My husband and I celebrated our First Year Wedding Anniversary at the Loreto Bay Golf Resort & Spa. It was our first time to visit Loreto and we immediately loved it! We stayed in a Deluxe King room, on the 2nd floor which faced the swimming pool and Sea of Cortez. My husband fished off shore, right at their beach, which was conveniently located just a few steps away from the resort and caught many fish! We spent every afternoon at the swimming pool and enjoyed having drinks and food, served by the most friendly and helpful wait staff. We loved it there because it was never crowded, which made it so easy to find plenty of lounge chairs to relax in the 90+ degree sunny weather! The rate includes complimentary use of their kayaks, paddle boards, snorkel gear and mountain bikes. We found that the resort location was perfect for what we were seeking: away from the crowds, yet close enough of a drive, (15 minutes), north to the quaint town of Loreto and south to beautiful Puerto Escondido. Everywhere along the coast was picturesque, it is worth renting a car to venture away and see the sights. The food options at the hotel and in town were plentiful, delicious, fresh and inexpensive. If you are looking for a romantic and relaxing place, this is where you'll want to stay!
