I'm not one to write a negative review, this is actually my first. I'm so appalled, disappointed, disgusted and confused I'm not sure where to even start.... There's one thing to need a makeover or facelift (which it's in dyer need of) it's another to be dirty! I could have overlooked the necessary TLC, but to have garbage scattered around the grounds and trash on the beach is mind boggling! It's hard to wrap your head around the cleanliness of downtown when its nonexistent at your hotel! Especially when there is ample staff hanging around doing nothing! And I mean nothing! Both days we decided to relax at the beach - despite the cigarette butts, beer cans and bottle tops and the service was none existent. I wasn't thrilled about getting up to order a beverage but it certainly wasn't a deal breaker. What really upset me was being ignored by the employees once I arrived at the bar. No one seemed to care. We spent an entire afternoon at the beach with ZERO service...only to watch two servers walk past us to climb the mountain! We finally left the beach and at that moment decided not to give the hotel another dime. After going into town for dinner we received a phone call staying we didn't sign our bill! I stated it was after 8:30 and we were in bed, could it please wait until the morning? Mind you we had a beer, margarita and a water...not a big bill and clearly I had provided my room number when I ordered. She said no and at 8:45pm the same young man that reluctantly handed me 3 beverages, climbed a mountain was now at my door needing a signature! On a side note keep track of your spending as you're not provided with receipts - even after signing nor will you receive an itemized bill at check out. Front desk is less than helpful either. Basic info regarding pool towels and key for the refrigerator where ignored. I understand we traveled during their low season, but we did NOT pay low season prices!!! This resort is lacking basic hospitality, customer service and is on the verge of looking abandoned. Beat up and dirty beach chairs, broken fountains, rotted potted plants, dead grass, overfilled garbage cans...etc. What a major disappointment! Every penny spent on a taxi to town and not at the hotel was a penny well spent! I will say the bed was comfortable, the AC worked well and the nachos were tasty. I am so sorry we stayed here!

Loved it!

We went in the off season and loved it. Peaceful, beautiful sunrises, excellent breakfast buffet, clean clean room, excellent service at the pool bar, the Spa is gorgeous and the grounds were stunning. Very safe place. We wanted to move in and never leave. I only have one small complaint and that is that the shower didn't get very warm but after getting sunburned I was grateful for lukewarm water.

Great staying

Excellent hotel. Staff is friendly and helpful if you ask for local places to visit. Price was good for what the hotel offers. With no additional fees you can use the bikes, kayaks, extra beds and some other things, just ask to the front desk. Highly recommended. Would definitely stay here again in my next trip to Loreto. My family fully agree with my review.

Beautiful bit of paradise

Friends of ours bought a condo in Cabo San Lucas and we're tired of always having to rent a car when they flew down. So they bought a car and asked us if we would like to help drive it down through Baja........after careful thought we said yes. A great trip and one of the highlights was Loreto bay and golf resort. In its own compound south of Loreto city is a new community of condos, houses and this resort. A beautiful location, great drinks, great food, kayaking and snorkling. A group of guys next to us at the restaurant come here every year to go fishing. Sure enough the next morning the men in their Pangas showed and whisked them away for a day of fishing. Breakfast was included in the reasonable rate and was delicious. I am just sorry we didn't have enough time to golf as the course looked wonderful. Attached is a view of the beach from our room. Enjoy

Terrible Service - Left Resort for other location.

WARNING: Booked this resort for our 25th and was very excited to arrive. Check-in was easy thanks to Luisa M. and Carlos D., great customer care, always smiling and attentive - the resort should be thankful to have them. I was amazed at how nice this place must have been 10+ yrs ago. Today, the pavers were dull and warn throughout, patch-work and mis-paint everywhere, the lawn was in dire-need of water or just replaced with sand and local flora. The room was about as clean as it could get; after many yrs of quick cleaning you could see much was in need of replacement. Sheets & towels were clean, bed was comfortable and the A/C worked well until one nigh it made a terrible noise and leaked water all over the floor. The balcony was odd, with a picture frame view almost boxing you in with a vine plant obstructing the rest of your view and cheap chairs. The room had a mini locked fridge that I’m sure was once used at a 7-11 - additional key deposit required. Floors, countertops, shower were all in need of replacement after yrs of poor repair. Two pools were green, beach had a great view with palapa’s. The lounge chairs were old and someone will bust through them soon. Good signage about stingrays – shuffle your feet upon entering the sea. The free-usage equipment: Kayak, SUP, etc. are poorly maintained. The sand had many bottle-caps, cigarette butts and found plenty of old rusty 16 penny nails, "stingrays and trash, be careful." Had dinner at the resort one night only – The chile relleno had the taste and texture of soaked–up old oil (which it did – gross). The guacamole and chips were OK. Beers were cold, margaritas are small but flavorful – bartender was awesome (forgot his name but very social). Breakfast buffet was slim pick'ns. I would say the local soup kitchen serves better products and has a better presentation. The wait staff lacked in their abilities, I had to get up multiple times to grab the coffee carafe and condiments from the waitstaff work station. The breakfast hall was not busy for the amount of staff, a lot of standing around wondering what to do then not doing it. Tried the breakfast twice since I only had coffee but was charged 11 US dollar ea time for a complete buffet. After these poor experiences we chose to eat outside the resort and find other activities so our disappointment level wouldn't get any lower. THE LAST STRAW: Chose to hangout under a beach palapa and take dips in the sea. It was a hot day as they all are this time of year but noticed the beach runner servers had skipped our palapa multiple times, why??? Even a family of non guest that entered the resort from the beach were getting service??? No longer taking the heat without some sort off hydration we went in the bar/dinner area and waited about 20 minutes before we gave up. I had reported the day before that the lack of service was unacceptable and reported it again but his time we are checking out! I now got the attention of the Management – they offered a free room upgrade, sent us a bottle of local wine and said they would address the staff. Nope... I’m done... This is not how we wanted to spend our 25th anniversary as paying/tipping customers!
