Great Resort, Terrible Staff

The resort is great but the staff could use a little assistance in their communication, professionalism & ability to treat the guest as "king". Kathia (event coordinator) was rude before we even arrived at the venue. She threatened to cancel the wedding on more than one occasion, told me that the vendors didn't like me due to my lack of Spanish and inability to get information for bank wires, and never took blame for her mistakes that she made on more than one occasion. She forgot to make changes to contracts which in the end we suffered for because of her lack of followthrough and her communication was very terrible. Lesson: Read every contract every time. You never know when they will remove something or change a number on you and up-charge you. Also, don't believe them when they tell you that you will have help with the event. I was promised an "assistant" to help run the event that night and he was only there to setup his sisters decorations then left as he was told by the vendor/Kathia. Carlos is supposed to be your point of contact when making reservations at the resort. He is very nice at the front desk but does not go above and beyond. He would unlock the door for me but getting me a bandaid when I cut myself on glass took 45 minutes. If you got lucky and he answered the phone then you could make your reservation but if you missed him then he rarely returned the call and almost never responded to an email. It is Mexico but if you want to be a high-end resort, then your staff needs to act like one. Lesson: Copy other staff from the resort on your email to Carlos so he is held accountable. Housekeeping staff was very nice and spoke a small amount of English but couldn't remember anything you told them. Everyday, I reiterated to the front desk and the housekeepers that I did not want anyone in my room yet everyday they cleaned my room for me. It took me finally yelling at them on the last day to get it through their heads that they weren't supposed to be in there and they gave me a 'Do not disturb' sign for my door finally. How is it that difficult to understand NO CLEANING?! And how is it appropriate for Kathia to enter my room during the event on the last night to put an apology gift in my room?! I had been running crazy all day and thrown supplies/clothes/shoes all over due to the time crunch we had to prep for the ceremony and reception so at the end of the night, it was quite the surprise to find a package in my room that was not wanted.

Wow - What a disappointment !! Be forewarned !

We selected this place based on Tripadvisor reviews. I don't know what the recent people were thinking or experiencing when they went to this place but it was clearly a great place at one time. In general the whole place feels neglected and under cared for. Check in was easy. Our room was clean but dated. The sink did not drain properly. The exhaust fan sounded like a freight train. The room was sterile with nothing on the walls. The floor could have used some small rugs. We tried to have diner at the restaurant but it was closed so we were pointed to the pool restaurant. The wind blows day and night and it was too uncomfortable to sit there. We ordered our food to be delivered. It came in Styrofoam unappetizing containers and plastic cups for beverages. Wow how classy. The tacos were tasty but the Cesaer salad was pathetic but we were hungry. Oh and the outdoor night lighting is terrible. We almost could not find our way the pool restaurant at night. The personnel were very nice. The reason we stopped here was to play golf. Clearly the golf course was very nice at one time but it has been seriously neglected. It was clear from the outset as the golf cart was filthy and the brake did not work. The tee boxes were a mess and lacked grass. There was no signage to tell you where to go to the next hole. The fairways had many bare spots as did the greens. At $80.00 USD it was a ripoff.

Beautiful Loreto!

This is a lovely hotel surrounded by nice homes and on the beach. I had a lovely room on the oceanfront which was wonderful. There is a great restaurant which served local food and a nice swimming pool. There are lots of outdoor activities offered of which you can choose one per day included (1 Hour). I will return to this hotel the next time I am in Loreto!

We enjoyed our recent stay at Loreto golf and spa with a few exceptions. We had a lovely ocean view room with a spacious patio. However, the furnishings on the patio we meager, our local friends had nowhere to sit or place drinks. Our biggest disappointment was our prepaid breakfast. The custom omelets and fresh fruit were tasty, but the other offerings were mediocre and dull. The only bread was bland whole wheat sandwich bread- never a pastry or variation. The orange juice was watered down, we stopped getting it after two days. There were typical Mexican breakfast side dishes, but no bacon or sausage other than cut up hotdogs. Steamed cream for coffee would be a nice accompaniment typical of other hotels of this class. We give high marks to the attentive staff and activities offered, just avoid breakfast as there are great alternatives a short walk away. PS good bloody Mary’s!

Old appliances!

Even though the hotel is very nice with a grear view the AC is so old, OMG! Makes lots of noice in a place you want to relax. Same in the bathroom, super noisy, can't take a relaxing shower with that vent that sounds like a plane... Can't believe such a cool hotel has this issues. Personnel are attentive but wouldn't come back here if they don't get a make over.
