Very nice and great service, the hotel is beautiful and comfortable. The food is very good. I prefer going when the hotel have less guest, because it is quieter. I'll be back at the next opportunity I can.

Breakfast buffet.....sad.

We were hungry for breakfast and learned that on a Sunday, this was one of the few places serving. We got there about 10:30 am. and the buffet ended at 11:00 am. I am sure that coming at the tail end of breakfast had some to do with the quality. However, using my imagination where all items would have been filled to the rim and fresh and hot, I still wasn't impressed. When the yogurt is the best thing to eat at a buffet, something is wrong. I must add however, that the service was attentive and friendly! We were seated quickly and served our beverages quickly as well.

Golf buddy and I booked 1 week at LBR&S early April. First time to Baja so we were impressed with the speedy reception at the airport, no hassle time share BS. $20US to the resort, no shuttle. Apparently the taxi cartel is most powerful... Nice hotel + layout, staff very friendly, English.speaking. Room comfy enough, bottled water provided in room plus coffee, located beach side, right beside 16th tee box. Liked the 1 hour free kayak. Pool temp set at 90F, a bit warm for me, gym w treadmills on site. Best deal for us was the $150 US for a full week of golf: course very walkable, no charge for pull cart (thanks Carlos). Played 7 rounds so we got our money's worth! One round costs $85US by the way. If you want to check out the town aite of Loreto the rawback is the lack of shuttle to town $15US one way trip via taxi. Worth a trip, especially to Mi Loreto restaurant for the mole. So "stuck" in resort, buffet breakfast $200 pesos ($12US), custom omelette available. reasonable selection of food for start of day. Resort is at the S end of a beautifully laid out complex, like an instant villa. Flowers and landscaping is remarkable. Cars from all over US and Canada. Drawback is the prices, more like Phoenix rather than Mexican. Limited dining options, only 4 restaurants. Best beer is the draft at the Wine Cellar ($7US/pint).

The most peaceful vacation

If you are looking for a quiet place to relax, unwind and get close to nature this is the place. Loreto is a small town in Baja with lots to offer but still a secret to most. I think because it is harder to get here via air, it has not yet (and hopefully won't) become commercialized like many Mexican vacation destinations. The views from the entire property are just breath taking - From the Sierra Gigante mountains to the beautiful waters of the Sea of Cortez. The community consists of apartments, condos, inn, and many lovely homes along with beautiful golf course, several restaurants, coffee shop, small convenience stores, rental car, spa, activity rentals, kayaks etc... The community is built for walking and you can take some lovely walks in the morning and at sunset. Lots of birds to see, and we even saw a native fox on a walk one morning. The waters are mainly calm and there is an abundance of beautiful sea life to explore. The town of Loreto is very quaint with the first California Mission and many good and reasonable restaurants along with a few small shops. The plaza in town is a wonderful place to people watch and you can see the warm friendly family atmosphere. There are several near by islands to explore which offer beautiful beaches and great snorkeling opportunities, along with good fishing opportunities.

Wonderful, a relaxing stay

My husband and I had a great experience at Loreto Bay Golf Resort and Spa. We found that the staff were very friendly and went out of their way to make our vacation a lot of fun. We enjoyed using the kayaks, bikes and trying the stand up paddle board, all free of charge. I spent an hour snorkeling, all within a short walk to the location. We ate at the resort and found the food and staff to be very good. It was also nice within the immediate area. It was very clean, and there were a few other restaurants a small store and coffee shop. We took a 15 minute taxi ride into the town of Loreto. The town was so clean, it was impressive. There are many restaurants, little shops , and it was also interesting to see the mission. I also wanted to mention Paco (his nickname) he is the manager of the food and beverages at the resort. It was fun visiting with him, we enjoyed his sense of humor. The front desk people were very helpful and were able to answer all of our questions. It was also nice communicating with one of the cleaning staff, Aleyda. We look forward to returning in the future.
