Terrible!!! Never going to any Lifestyles Resort anyplace.

We were a group of 30 plus. Had issues from the moment we checked in. Our rooms and clubs smelled like mold and is filled with mold, the toilets had dry urin on the seats and they sealed the toilet as if it was already cleaned, old vomit was on the sides of the toilet when we checked in. When we went to complain they gave us serious attitudes. Our floors were mopped at 9am and still wet at 10 pm, our clothes and beds were damp. Huge language barrier and tons of fights. To make matters worse after complaining management sent a moldy food tray to our room. The food on the resort was horrible, they lie to you about what’s included until you get there. Security is useless they speak no english so in the event of an emergency you are on your own. At night they allowed locals onto the resort and drugs were sold in front of us. It was just a terrible experience! Oh and no wi-fi unless you want to pay $25.00 per day.

Lovely resort, not exactly *all*-inclusive

I stayed here for a week with six friends in four rooms. We found an excellent deal on cheapcaribbean.com during hurricane season, which turned out to be a great gamble since the weather was sunny and gorgeous the whole week. The look and feel of the resort was very nice--relaxing, luxurious, and beautiful, with meandering paths to walk on and a nice architectural style that felt true to the Caribbean location. The peacocks wandering around were a nice touch, and we loved the outdoor beds sprinkled around the pool and beaches. Everything was clean, and our room was large and pleasant, although the bed was incredibly hard, and we found it odd that the bathroom walls were glass--especially in the Caribbean where our American stomachs weren't used to the food, this was a bit awkward at times basically being in the same room with your partner while you used the toilet! It's important to understand that all-inclusive doesn't really mean all-inclusive. There are many different levels of guest status at this resort. Our cheapcarribean tickets provided us with blue bracelets, which meant we were entitled to two dinner reservations at certain (non-VIP) resort restaurants, we could eat all our meals at the buffet, and we could access any non-VIP areas. While this would have been fine, it's not what I expected from the all-inclusive label. To me, all means all. You can upgrade to VIP status by purchasing a future stay at one of their resorts (earning you a gold bracelet), or to an even-higher VIP status by becoming a member of their vacation club (getting you a bigger gold bracelet). The salesmen are extremely pushy, but the tour of the fancy houses is fun. The even-higher VIP status gives you as many dinner reservations as you want at all of the open restaurants--but only two restaurants are open per night anyway. None of this was made clear before our stay, and details only became apparent throughout the week while we were there. If these things had been made clearer before and during our stay, I would have been perfectly happy and rated this resort 5 stars--it's just the unclear communication and the extreme pushiness to buy into their club makes it feel sketchy. There is also only free Wi-Fi in the VIP Tower--although you can purchase Wi-Fi for use elsewhere. Three families from our group bought future stays, and one became a club member, so we ended up all being upgraded to the higher VIP status. The VIP areas are much nicer than the non-VIP areas, which are fine but much more crowded. The VIP pool was lovely, and the hookah bar is a nice touch. Serenity Beach was the nicest beach we visited, with beds right up to the water and a fantastic crepes bar. Overall the food and drinks were excellent. My partner and I are vegetarian, lactose-intolerant, and I'm allergic to shrimp, and we were pleased in general by the variety of options available to us. The buffet is nice and they try to do a good job labeling things, although the language barrier sometimes made things confusing. The VIP restaurants are all excellent--we especially enjoyed the Indian restaurant and Simply Gourmet. The people working at the resort were all very friendly and accomodating. They seemed happy working there, which was important to us. I was surprised that many people did not speak English, and since we know very little Spanish, that made communication challenging in certain situations such as when our toilet backed up. The area outside of the resort seemed a bit depressed, but not moreso than expected for the location. The people in our group did several excursions--my partner and I did only snorkeling, which was delightful and a lot of fun. It cost $90 per person, but included a day of travel to a nice beach, a lunch, fresh fruit snacks, and drinks, plus a boat ride to a "sandbar" (which was nonexistant due to the rainy season) and of course the snorkeling. Our snorkeling guide was especially helpful, and towed me around with him as he lead the others, since I am not a strong swimmer (even with my life vest) and I also normally wear glasses. He was kind enough to tempt the fish with fresh food right in front of my face so I got an up-close view and could see them despite not having my glasses or contact lenses. I would definitely recommend staying at this resort, especially if you can get a cheap deal like we did (our flights, transportation, room, and all-inclusive week-long stay (with blue bracelet-level status) was only $732 per person for 2 people). Be aware of the access level you will have, and be ready to be accosted to persuade you to buy what basically amounts to a less restrictive timeshare in order to upgrade your status and grant you access to more and better aspects of the resort.

Beautiful Hotel & Amazing Entertainment

Puerto Plata beach is clean, serene and beautiful. The hotel's customer service was great. I brought my mom for a short vacation there and it was our first time and we were worried about how it would be...There was always staff around to assist with anything we needed. Everything inclusive so great food and drinks whenever we wanted. This hotel is attached to others so we got access to other beautiful hotels with different restaurants, bars, and pools so that is another big plus because you get 4 nice hotels for the price of 1. So you never need to leave the hotel even though you can. My mother and I were worried we would get bored from staying 5 days in the same resort but I can honestly say it is impossible to. There are awesome events going on every night and during the day the entertainment center people are always making sure everyone is aware of the activities, and getting involved. I was very pleased with their service. If you go to this hotel I recommend getting to know Shaggy, Chocolate, Julio Nice, Blacky, Prince Roys and the rest of the entertainment team. They will make sure to keep your vacation filled with laughter and fun. They sure made our vacation unforgettable, especially Chocolate and Julio Nice. Also, not only are they fun and friendly, but they are all bilingual and will make sure you are never left out throughout the activities. I look forward to coming back with my whole family for all the fun they can give us.

Beautiful Resort - Spanish Speakers get preference :(

Beautiful resort, perfect weather. Only problem is most resort workers do not speak English, HUGE Communication barrier for Non Spanish Speaking Tourists. We found our Favorite Waiter Day 3.......Ronny Burgos! He made our stay a joy! No Room service and unfortunately some people have their pets lounging on the beach beds so smelly sometimes!

A resort you much go

It was a great experience. We had such a great time. It was a location I will never forget. Lifestyle Holiday keeps you entertained. They have many very fun parties. It was like no other resort I have ever been. If I could I would go again. Can not say enough about our experience
