Beautiful Hotel
JAMES F.
Apr 17 2018
This hotel exceeded our expectations. It was absolutely beautiful. We marked the entertainment as "good" because everything was in Spanish and we don't speak Spanish. We were limited on what entertainment we could see. The pool facilities were also marked as "good". They were beautiful pools, but the water was always so warm that they were not enjoyable. Other than that, this facility was "top of the line" in all areas.

2017 was our fourth visit. We love this place. The personnel, service and facilities are absolutely excellent. The breakfast and lunch buffets are excellnt. The food at the 5-6 restaurants available for dinner is a little disappointing. This year we had a bit of a problem getting access to equipment for snorkeling. Otherwise all of the activities were great as well.

Change from a couch potato

I was recovering from a broken neck. I just got out of the cervical collar the middle of January. I didn't realize that this hotel was full of so many steps and that the hotel was on the hillside. You will be doing a lot of walking if you stay at this hotel there are a lot of steps that you will have to go up and down. There are shuttles if you choose to wide. I however found that this hotel was excellent to make me go from a couch potato back into shape. For me I could not have chosen a better place. The staff was excellent they try to meet your every need. The beaches were outstanding. The hotel and facilities are extremely clean. The Kasbar restaurant is outstanding the food was terrific and the belly dancer very entertaining. ting.

The hotel has a lot of personality compared to others on the bay. The staff tries very hard to please and most speak English. The Seafood restaurant is outstanding. Well worth going twice. Room was clean, bed comfortable. Room staff provided nice touches every day. Beach Club staff was excellent at night and in the morning. Will go back for sure.

The resort was beautiful, but many steps and the air conditioning was very poor, the resort is very spread out so it made it difficult to get around with out a ride from their transportation.

room air conditioner could not keep up. The airline ( Sun Country) gate agents deceived the passengers on the departure flight with the reason for the 3 1/2 hour delay. The pilot was truthful with why there was a delay. Our plane was given to a group headed to St Thomas.

The person booking the excursions at the hotel was not knowledgeable, and did not charge us the correct amount when we booked our excursions, so we had to pay her more the next day. She could use better training on how to serve customers.

The only negative was the dinners at restaurants were only fair. Otherwise breakfast and lunch buffets were great, service was excellent. Las Brisas is on a hilly area dependent on cart transportaion between locations and the avaiability was excellent. Never waited more than 5 minutes. Amenities such as boating, snorkeling and poolside service was excellent.

Super relaxing holiday

Beautiful scenery, interesting landscape details, easy snorkeling, cheerful and attentive staff, spacious room, clean, food and drinks similar to many all-inclusive hotels but we did not lose weight! We liked the Mexican feel of the hotel. Choice of 3 beaches. Some food service on the beaches and coffee bar would be nice. Will definitely return hopefully in wintertime.

Second Visit - Wonderful Time Again

Travelled Sunwing - never again. They need to improve in every area possible. Understand it is a charter however their plans are out of date; their check in was terrible; allowing psgrs only to check in on line 4 hours in advance is ridiculous - ensures everyone pays the 20$ to preselect seats. Did not enjoy the flight either way. It was on time both ways however really lacked in service. Very much prefer WestJet. Stayed at Las Brisas for a second time and it did not disappoint. The weather was stellar - not a cloud for 7 days straight and was high 30s low 40s Food was fine - nothing spectacular but quite good. Breakfast always the best meal of the day - the fruit - fresh mango every day - was great. Did not have anything that was not good. Service was great all the way around. However there were some language challenges when checking in/out - at the front desk. When they know pssgrs are arriving before 3pm they really should do more to have the room ready. Our friends got their room right away however we had to way almost an hour for our room. It is an inconvenience. Maybe some creative scheduling could help in this area. Beach/pool chair service is amazing. Very attentive and always pleasant. Was an issue with saving chairs - had to go down early to the middle beach and the one by the Mexican restaurant. Then folks would save palapas and chairs and disappear for the majority of the day. I just find that rude. Did a bird tour with Cornelio Ramos - he is very good and really knows his stuff. I am not an avid birder - more the hubby - however I really enjoyed it and the birds were amazing. We saw a lot and learned so much. Got some great pics. The tour however could improve - we were told there would be water and fruit/lunch provided. Thankfully we grabbed some water from our room as we did not get any offered. The morning had hot chocolate and a pastry which was very nice (but I do love my morning coffee) and for lunch it was Mexican made fresh - quesadillas I believe. They were delicious - a bit too spicy for me but enjoyed all the same. In addition lunch was at a coffee plantation which was a bit less than what we expected. Maybe not a plantation. They were very friendly and hospitable and we saw a large variety of birds in this area. The tour was 6 hours and Cornelio is very pleasant and accommodating. Well worth it but again some minor improvements. The tour allowed us to find birds right on the resort site. We went out early in the morning and spotted so many - it was quite fun actually. Apparently there may be a birding tour hosted by Las Brisas - we however did not hear or know about that. The sunwing rep was never on site to ask. Rooms were great/clean. This time we had a balcony which we paid extra for and well worth it. Need a balcony. We were in the Mountains section - closer to the lobby area which is nice. Lower area and our room did have a bit of a smell to it but it wasn't horrible. Location was good - we walked all the time - rarely took the shuttle. My legs definitely got a good workout. Lots to do it you are interested - just a bit too hot to do most of them (tennis, pickle ball, soccer, etc). Ocean was great - snorkelling was good - better than last visit. Spent most of our days at the beach in front of the buffet - the ocean was calmer and less of a drop/undertow. Preferred this one. Went into Town for a walk about and some shopping. It was extremely busy - it was their school break - but felt very safe. No issues at all. cab in and out - easy and very safe. All in all a great holiday and I would return both for the resort and for the weather. Great memories!

We just returned last night from a week`s stay at Las Brisas. Check in was very quick. It took only 5 minutes and we were off in the shuttle car to our room. This place is very large. I could stay there for two weeks and still wouldn`t be able to remember where our room was and how to get to it. LOL. Suttles are available anytime. Sometimes they came quick, sometimes had to wait, but it wasn`t that big a deal. The room was nice. Basic and clean. Bed was very comfortable. Good shower as well. We were in the Stars section. Our room didn`t have a balcony. Was disappointed, at first, but once we realized how hot it got at night it didn`t bother us. We would have never sat out on it in that heat. The window opened wide enough and had a bar across that when opened made it feel like you were on a balconey anyway. We had a part ocean view, so it wasn`t too bad. We don`t spend alot of time in the rooms when we go to places like this, so this wasn`t a big issue. Staff was very friendly. Drinks were good. Good margaritas, mojitos and a wide selection of other drinks. We are not picky eaters so we found the food good. There was always something to find to eat. Guacamole and nachos were our go to meal for lunch. Wish it was served at night, but never wasn`t. The ala cartes were ok. We always like to try a few, just for a change of pace. The Mexican was good. Nice view of the beach while you eat.The Kasbah was different. We`re not big Moroccan food eaters but wanted to check it out for the experience. There was barely anyone there the night we went. There was a belly dancer performing for the few that were there. It added to the experience. Appatizers weren`t that great, but the chicken dish we had was good. Aslo did the Steak House(Solarium). Nice location, looking out into the ocean. Rib eye I had was good. Cooked the way I asked. Beached were great. Something for everyone. We mostly stayed at the middle beach. Drinks brought to you was awesome. Most of the time only had to wait 10 minutes to get your drink. The water was the calmest and clearest of any place I`ve been to on the Pacific side of Mexico. Temperature was perfect. The snorkle beach was also great. Saw tonnes of fish. Even swam next to a school of hundreds of fish. We had perfect weather. It was HOT! We found we could only last a half hour, at the most, before we had to head back to the water to cool off. All in all, this was a great trip. We love Huatutco. Will be planning on returning again. May not return here, only because we always like to try new places. But I highly recommend this place
