We had a really nice stay at Jewel Cove. The staff was very accommodating and friendly. The food was all good. Our room was nice and between our excursions and the on-resort activities we had plenty of things to do. The grounds were very nice and the resort didn’t seem very busy. The room we booked was an Ocean Front Concierge room. It was a nice room with a small balcony over looking the ocean. Everything about the room was nice with the only complaint being the jacuzzi tub. It was a single person tub and wasn’t installed well, so that whenever you took a shower the floor got soaked. There was a minifridge stocked with beer and soda. We were able to get a champagne each day, but sometimes we had to ask a few times. The concierge rooms include free room service but we never took advantage of that. The house keeping staff did a good job taking care of the room each day and put the occasional towel art on our bed for us. We were able to sample each of the restaurants over our stay. The Aquamarina provides poolside food. We had good jerk chicken, fries and salads there. The burgers were not to spectacular but it was nice sitting outside relaxing with drinks and food. The Coral Café is the buffet dining room. They were open for breakfasts and dinners. The food was ok but not spectacular. Court Jesters makes fresh pizzas and we enjoyed a few of these. They were surprisingly good, better than some of our local NY pizzerias. For more formal dinning they have a few other restaurants. The Golden Saber Sushi was a pleasant surprise. I’m not a big fan of fish but found the sushi here very delicious. We went there twice enjoying some sushi with a little bit of Saki to help wash it down. In the same room is the Jade Samurai. They provide teppanyaki style dinning around a hibachi table. They cook up salmon, steak, chicken and shrimp for you here. You wind up with a huge pile of food on your plate. The food was good but the main draw is the entertainment factor provided as the chefs cook and entertain in front of you. The Platinum was the “white glove” restaurant on the premises. We went here our first night. The menu supposedly changes each week, but the week we were there we found the tenderloin was really good. In fact we went back for dinner there a second time and got tenderloin again. After the meal we let our waiter know we really enjoyed the food and wanted to compliment the Chef. He told the chef, Lorenzo, and he came over to talk to us. We complemented his cooking and chatted a bit. We wanted to come back the next night but he informed us it was his day off and the restaurant would not be open. He offered to have the chef at the Moonstone restaurant, Terrance, take care of us the next night. Lorenzo said he’d make sure we got steak and lobster the next night. The next day we went by the Moonstone before dinner and they verified that we were going to get surf and turf for dinner! That evening we showed up to the Moonstone and got he VIP treatment. Our waiter Patrick seated us at a prime table overlooking the ocean. The head chef Terrance made sure that everything was perfect. It was an amazing memorable last meal in Jamaica for us and we really want to thank Lorenzo, Terrance and Patrick for making it so. The resort is all inclusive so all the food and drinks are included. The bars had a reasonable stock of liquor but the bar tenders didn’t seem to have much imagination trying to make drinks that weren’t on the resort drink cards and the drinks were kind of weak. The resort itself was very nice, clean and not packed. Anytime we wanted a lounge chair by the pool or on the beach we could easily find one. The pools were nice and had swim up bars. One pool had a water slide which we tried. It was pretty fun. There are a few hot tubs around and they weren’t busy at all. There are two beaches at the resort. One is fairly small and has snorkels you can borrow. We were surprised by the number of fish in this area and even ran into a small barracuda. The other beach is a little bigger and is the home to the water sports building. The staff there was very helpful to us. We tried out pretty much everything they had to offer. One day we asked to go for a Hobbie cat ride. They were starting to close down, but still offered to take us out on a shorter ride. We also wanted to go on the glass bottom boat snorkeling trip. You need to reserve your seats the day before the trip, but we were leaving the resort early that day to go on an excursion. The staff was nice and let us sign up early before they were really open. The snorkeling trip was fun. They take you out on a glass bottom boat for a short ride. Then you get about a half hour in the water. We spent some time at the beach. You can order food and drinks and they’ll deliver them right to the shore for you. We booked two excursions from the resort. One day we planned to go to Dunn’s River Falls and then shopping in Ocho Rios. The bus went to Dunn’s River first but the place was packed! Three cruise ships were in town. Our guide told us to stay on the bus and we’d go shopping first. After a few hours of shopping the bus pulled up and we went back to the Falls. Now the place was empty and we got a nice tour up the falls and almost had them just to ourselves and our small group. The second excursion we went on was to visit the Blue Hole and then do some river tube rafting. We were waiting at the resort for a typical tour bus when a small black Honda minivan pulled up. To our surprise that was our ride. It picked up one other couple in Ocho Rios and we had our tour group. The ride through the countryside was fun. It was nice to see some of the country that isn't shoreline. The Blue Hole was fun with a little fear factor built into it. You hike up a small series of water falls and then proceed to jump into the pools of water. Two of the jumps were 20 or more feet high and took a little mental coaxing to make the plunge. The second half of the excursion was a float down a little river in tubes. This was really fun and our guide “John Wayne” kept us entertained the whole time. If you couldn’t tell, overall, we had a really nice trip to Jamaica.

This resort is just the right size. Two small beaches, one is a good spot for napping, reading, partial shade from the “willow trees”, and snorkeling. We enjoyed water exercises with Oran every morning in the main pool. He is so pleasant and genuinely cares for us. The piano bar was fun each night. Take the nature walk with Donovan to really appreciate the beautiful landscaping of the resort. He is very informative. Be sure to make a reservation at Jade when you first arrive. The meal was outstanding and the chef very entertaining. A half day trip to Konoko Falls is a must. The food is very good at all of the restaurants and the servers are friendly. Be sure to watch the sunsets from the Sunset Bar for a good view. The cocktail party and dining under the stars was really nice with good entertainment and excellent food. Our room was cleaned each day and had a patio with an ocean view. There’s food available any time, with serve yourself nachos and popcorn at one of the pools. We felt very safe here. Great vacation- thank you Jamaica!

The Staff was very accommodating, warm and friendly. Thanks to Kemarley, Chefs Amond, Trevor, Calvin and Terry, servers Patrick and Terrence. My husband has a food allergy and we were introduced to Chef Trevor immediately on arrival, he wrote down everything that he could not eat and this was circulated to all the restaurants. kudos to the serving staff, we felt like royalty. We would recommend this location to anyone.

my husband and I had a great time at the Jewel Paradise Cove. We loved the small size of the resort and how well you got to know the other guests. The food was good and the staff friendly. We particularly liked the abundance of watersport activities that were included. The Beach drink service was a bit inconsistent so if that is important to you you might want to take note of this. We didn’t mind getting up to get our own drinks though. The water slide was lots of fun as well. Certainly worth trying out. The grounds are very pretty with lots of foliage. The maintenance and grounds crew do an excellent job with this. The water aerobics everyday at 11:00 with Oran was great. He really provided the guests with a good workout in the pool. We would certainly consider a trip back to this resort in the future.
