This hotel sewage and water had major issues. Different locations in the hotel smelled as if you were walking in a sewage tank. Occasionally the water in the bathrooms would not work so you could not flush the toilet or shower. I think this hotel charges way too much. I would tell people not to go. At the hibachi restaurant my 9 and 8 years olds asked if we could leave because it smelled like sewage. It was the restaurant they were looking forward to the most.

We had an OK experience- Got "suckered" into the sales talk to see the other resort that would be an upgrade, and promised an upgrade to those rooms for the week for a small fee. When we returned and had said "no" to the sales pitch, the opportunity for an upgrade for this week was suddenly gone. Staff at the pool bar and entertainment staff were good. Front desk staff and concierges, not as much. Room was kept clean and well kept. Upgrades needed to the pool. Wish we could have had more than 2 nights at a "top" restaurant instead of buffet most nights. Steakhouse is OUTSIDE and very hot. Hibachi was delicious and a good "show"

I visited in April 2018. The bed felt like you were laying on springs. You could hear them when you sat down. My bathroom smelled like urine. The mini fridge didnt even cool the drinks in it. The daily housekeeping staff didnt come consistently. The food was just OK. The beach was very nice.

The views and on the beach hotel was great. The all inclusive food and drinks was even greater. The staff/bartenders/entertainers were the greatest. Definitely a great experience. I was very surprised how over the top they treated us. This was my first resort experience which has set the bar high. They food was probably the lowest point, the quality wasn't the greatest but it was a buffet so I'm not complaining.

Lovely break from winter

The rooms were clean and the food was absolutely delicious. The staff members were absolutely delightful, helpful, and efficient in their work. We got to know one of the vendors on the beach, Paula. She was lovely. We felt safe within the resort grounds but were quite aware of being 'trapped' there due to danger outside the gates. We usually like to venture out to experience the culture but you can only do that during an excursion (which is not as full an experience for the most part but is better than nothing) The Iberostar Club Membership pitch was interesting, but it would only pay off if you were going to take this type of all-inclusive resort holiday once to twice a year. We do not usually travel in this fashion so it was not worth it. We did get $70USD to use on the resort or for an excursion along with some coupons and certificates to visit the sauna, jacuzzi area.

Did a package deal with Orbitz for 5 people 6 nights about $6800. Paid for round trip private coach to hotel and driver is very entertaining. Remember that $10 US = $1280 Jamaican. There are 3 distinct hotels and we stayed at the kid friendly one (not knowing any better-no kids) but that was fine. When you check-in, the front desk sends you to one of the concierges who will set up your dinner reservations. There is a buffet for breakfast, lunch and dinner and depending on length of stay, you can eat at the “upscale” restaurants nightly. Honestly, the food at the buffet was better than the upscale options. They will try to set you up with a “free” breakfast at the top-notch portion of the resort as a “special invitation only” breakfast which is nothing more than a sales pitch for the IBEROSTAR CLUB Membership, AVOID AT ALL COSTS. I declined to even go after I read the plethora of complaints and rip-offs regarding the “Club Membership.” It may make sense for some, but most felt cheated, with bait-and-switch tactics a foot. Off site excursions to the Falls, Luminous boat ride and zip lining, etc., can be made at the concierge. Rooms were fine (dated) with daily service and turn down service, No issues with crime. Free shuttle takes you to nearby tourist shops and there are plenty of locals selling their “stuff” on the beach. Kayak, parasailing, scuba, snorkeling options available. I played golf 4 times and the White Witch was a stunning but challenging course, hilly course with spectacular views of the ocean and never an even lie. Book on-line with Tee-Off.com and you can save a lot. Normal rate of $170, came down to $83. The sister course is Cinnamon Hill, which is flatter and more forgiving, but pales in comparison to the Witch. I did not play Half Moon GC. Shuttle service runs $40 round trip to the Witch, and $30 to Cinamon Hill. Lots of entertainment daily and nightly and man are the people friendly and accommodating. OVERALL- Clean, safe, friendly & reasonably priced place for golf and relaxation in the dead of winter (from Milwaukee) and I would recommend for families as the non-golfers have plenty to do. I stayed 6 nights and 3 or 4 is what I would do on a return trip.

Lovely resort. The quality of the food is second to none, incredibly good. The staff are extremely friendly. My complaint lies with the service - the iron in the room was not working and I asked 4 times for a replacement - it never came. There is a coffee machine with sugar, cream etc. but no spoon to stir with, I asked for one and it never came - in the end I brought one from the restaurant, but that is not how things are supposed to work.

Excellent Resort and Vacation

We just returned from a week in paradise!! The Iberostar resort and staff made this week fantastic for our family! Our group consisted of myself, my husband, our 14 year old son and my mother! First, the food was great!! Between all of us we tried everything from fish and seafood to chicken, beef and pork! Everyone enjoyed every meal and no one ever felt ill or had an upset stomach! We loved the eggs made to order at breakfast!! The best lunch is the daily bbq at the beach!! It is set up from approximately 12:30-2 (not to be quoted as we were on island time) but the food is fresh, delicious and a new menu each day... from Jamaican Jerk chicken, beef, fish and pork, patties, plantain and rices one day to amazing Mexican the next and some days are amazing homemade burgers and hotdogs! Don’t miss this bbq!! Sometimes a live steel drum band is even playing during this beach bbq! All the dinner choices were amazing with the Japanese experience being our favourite! The pool is alive everyday! The entertainment crew is the best of any resort!! They have activities going all day everyday from 11 am to 11 pm. The activities are in the pool and On the beach in the day and in the theatre and disco at night! There is something for all ages from young kids to Adults! My son had a blast playing volleyball, beach Olympics, dancing, magic carpet, karaoke etc!! Sparkle, Chocolate, String Bean, Macaroni, Sponge Bob, Kevin Hart and Angel keep everyone entertained! We all LOVED the FOAM PARTY!!! What a great pool party that was for all ages!! The pool bartenders Steven, Santino and Richard were great!! If you want a good martini head to the lobby bar and see the martini master!! Our cleaning lady was the friendliest and nicest lady ever!! She was always smiling and our rooms were immaculate. The air conditioning in the room worked so well!! We had rooms 2222 and 2221, the views were amazing!! Overlooked the ocean and the pool and resort grounds!! It was so nice sitting on the patio at night, listening to the resort music! The people selling items on the beach were very respectful. They would ask you to look at their items and if you didn’t want to they were respectful of that. Security watches them well and they don’t come on the resort. We did buy stuff from them and they were very nice people who were interesting to talk to about island life!! Thank you to the entire staff for making our trip so memorable! Can’t wait to come back to Jamaica next year!! Yah Mon!!! PS Tay says String Bean is very good at Volleyball!

Christmas Vacation 2018
VersatileAng, Independence, Missouri
Sun Jan 06 13:30:37 EST 2019
Family vacation with my 2 teenagers for Christmas. This was our first visit to Jamaica and I thought Iberostar Rose Hall Beach was our spot. Upon arrival, there were no welcome drinks or towels. Checking-In was basic. Front desk staff not very welcoming or attentive. No one showed us to our room and we were pretty much left on our own to figure out the resort for ourselves. Our room was 1329, Ocean front Junior Suite and it smelled like mold and mildew. This was hard to endure but after 3 days we got immune to it. As for the pros... the food was good. I was very pleased with the quality of the buffet and the Japanese restaurant was good also. Did not try the Cajun restaurant and only had Uncle Tony's restaurant during lunch. We didn't think it was that good, so we never went made reservations for dinner. The drinks were always on point. The bartenders did a great job in coming up with new ideas if you wanted to try something new and they were pretty friendly. The entertainment team was nice and tried to get all engaged, so that was a plus! The last but most important issue that I found most upsetting, we were there to celebrate Christmas. There was a beautiful Christmas Eve dinner reception that we had no idea about, and had heard nothing of and we had been on the property for 3 days prior. We went to dinner in shorts and flip flops at the buffet from a long day in the sun, and all we wanted was to eat. We arrive and everyone is dressed in their nice clothes and dresses and we looked plain and out of place. We were allowed to be seated as reservations or some ticket was required, however this was so embarrassing to not have this info passed along to us. I think management and staff should have made sure this information was passed along to all guests!! We will definitely be prepared now that we know if we ever decide to give this resort a second try during Christmas, but good customer service is key and communication vital in retaining guests for future visits.
