Fairly disappointed

Had a 7 day stay, not once was I able to find a chair to relax on on the beach, not once. Everything is already reserved by towels that belong to people that aren’t around for hours. I could not take 3 steps in any direction without someone coming up to me trying to haggle me into buying something. One night after going for a walk thruought the resort I got mixed up in directions, asked for assistance and got laughed at by a group of employees when all I needed was a simple point in “that direction.” I will not be returning nor will I be reccomending.

Rooms and Japanese restaurant

Mar 01 2018
The rooms were clean and spacious our only complaint was very hard pillows so bring your own if you prefer soft flat pillows they do not provide another choice. All the food was good to wonderful except the Japanese restaurant was less than desirable and felt a little ill after. The food was overcooked.

The restaurants are "full" even upon check-in. When walking by there are only a few tables-never "full". I was unaware I needed to get reservations before getting to the resort. I wish I would have had better orientation to the facilities. Overall, the hotel staff made great efforts to give us a great time...and we did.

Good Fun Trip for a week

I liked the hotel in general. The staff were very courteous and friendly. The day entertainment programs were good. The biggest letdowns, based on our stay in other resorts, was the quality of food and the nightly entertainment programs. They can definitely do a lot to improve on these 2 counts.

Great vacation

Feb 25 2018
This is great resort. The staff was fun and very friendly. The food was about like you would expect at an all inclusive. It was good but not great. Although there was a very wide selection of foods in the buffets. The rooms and the resort was very clean and appeared to be pretty well maintained but there were some areas the looked old and worn. With that said, they were doing repairs and updates when we were there. The beach was huge and clean. The pools were nice but they were much deeper than I have ever seen at a resort. The pools had an area where you walk in but quickly went from pretty shallow to nearly 6 ft deep. The the majority of the pool is an average of 5 ft deep. Overall was a great vacation and would definitely go back.

Gorgeous Grounds, Rooms getting tired looking

Do not accept rooms ending in 87 thru 96. They face the inner courtyard, which is a nice view, but there is absolutely no air movement. Couldn't sit outside in the evening at all. Also, thou rooms are No Smoking, my room smelled like cigarettes. There were butts left in the plant (3rd floor) and never picked up by housecleaning. They must run out of King Sheets, so put queen size on. You feet, if your are over 5'8", are laying on the actual mattress. We ripped the sheets off the bed, and she did put on the correct size on the next day. Though you will not go hungry, my family thought the buffet, especially at breakfast, was so so. The beach and grounds were kept beautiful. My favorite was the House Band that played nightly at the Star Band area. This is between the Punta Cana building and the buffet. They were awesome. Nightly, a nice size crowd would come and we danced to Latin music. They only play till 10:45 pm, so don't miss it.

Really had a good time. We had stayed there before. Had an ocean view. Alittle deceiving. If u sat down on the balcony it was a ocean view. If u stood up, you had a top of a restaurant and trash container view. But all in all a beautiful resort

Hi, Apple Vacation team, I complained three times about my room air condition. Was so noisy, that was NOT possible to sleep, hotel management did nothing (one time I spoke front desk, two times I spoke to hotel manager name Johnly with no result. Late last our stay in this hotel night front desk called as to offer another room. We refused to take it, because it was too late for us.Room maid service was terrible too.Three days was good, but after next day only haf (no beds), next day nothing at all??!!! Had to complain room service manager too. Definitely, I would NOT recommend this hotel to my friends and will post my review on trip adviser and hotels Website. It was not first trip to Punta Cana and my wife and me totally dissatisfied of our vacations. Sincerely, Arturas Dudonis.

As usual all was great. Staff as friendly as ever. Francisco at lobby bar remembered what we drank. Everyone is so friendly and always ready to go out of their way to make things better. Great place if you have problems with gluten. Chefs Yineiry, Stephanie, Yuneisy will actually prepare special gluten free meals for you. They were delicious Pizzas, spaghetti, crepes, muffins etc.Unbelievable service. That's why we keep going back every year.

Decided on this Iberostar after staying at the Iberostar Lindo in Mexico last year and felt confident all the Iberostar hotels would be of a high standard. However we felt let down by this hotel. The hotel itself has the potential to be one of the best on the island as it’s location is superb but it needs some work when it comes to attention to detail. We were staying at the hotel with our 3 children and therefore requested an interconnecting room (we had one at Iberostar Lindo and it was perfect). On arrival we had a family room which was basically a normal bedroom with a small bedroom off it. A bit disappointing as we expected similar to before but it was Ok, apart from there were only enough beds for 4 people. Not a great start. We had to start requesting another bed, something we felt we shouldn’t have to do really! Rooms a bit dated and in need of a revamp, especially the bathrooms which were small and a bit scruffy looking. Pool area large and great for everyone. We enjoyed spending our days at the pool and on the beautiful beach. Food was ok but the service in the dining room was our biggest complaint. Service was TERRIBLE. In fact, we are fortunate in that we holiday 3 times a year and this hotel was the worst we have stayed at service wise. It was asthough the dining room was run by sloths! Plenty of empty tables but none cleared when people had left. They were just left dirty. If you asked staff to clear the table it felt asthough you were causing them a huge inconvenience. In the end I actually cleared a couple of tables myself just because I got sick of waiting! Not good and it is because of the dining room service that I have dropped this hotel down 2 stars. I totally understand there are hundreds of guests and not just us, but there was simply no service at all and certainly never with a smile. I imagine the poor staff are paid very little for long hours and so I don’t totally blame them but I do think it needs looking into as it’s not fair on paying guests. Oh and tourist tax is $10 USD pp to enter the Dominican and $20pp to leave! Something TUI failed to inform us of and having 5 of us in our party ended up costing us $150 USD which was annoying. All in all a great holiday destination. We will return to the Dominican Republic however sadly we will now try another hotel chain as we feel let down by this Iberostar.

Pretty Good

Nice stay. This hotel is not a palace though, and expectations should be reasonable. It needs some work (the main pools need resurfacing, for example) as it's a little "tired." The grounds are beautiful though and well maintained. The staff is friendly and helpful and don't give you the cold shoulder like other places we've been. The hotel has a great layout and it's easy to get around and figure the place out. It's a comfortable place. We did have some issues - our tub wouldn't drain and it took 2 days to get fixed, but, it did get fixed! The food is not very good. We didn't think that was a big deal. I mean who goes to an all inclusive expecting good food??? Overall the good outweighed the bad for sure. The beach is nice, there are plenty of huts. They maintain the cleanliness of all common areas. A decent amount of activities are included which is nice! Tip: don't go to the Seafood restaurant. It's disgusting! We had a really good meal at the Steakhouse though! Our room was situated perfectly, with a nice view. Give it a shot. It's easy to get around and not nearly as overwhelming as other places we've stayed. The staff is awesome!

Clean, pretty, good beach but disappointing food.

A very pretty complex, spacious and very clean - staff constantly cleaning grounds. Beach is great and so is the pool. Rooms and maid service good too. The reason for my three star is that the food wasn't great - flies on buffet food and we got a tummy upset. Also the entertainment shows started at 11pm, which is late for families, so we missed out, out children are too big for starkly stuff, but 11pm is late.
