The vacation of a lifetime.

I definitely recommend this resort. We stayed there from May 6-12, 2017. My family and I have traveled to Mexico many times and expect good service as we believe in general, the workers in Mexico tend to work harder and take more pride in their work than at home in the US. We booked three rooms for this trip and there were seven of us in all ranging from ages 17 at the youngest to 73 at the oldest. Weeks before arriving to the Iberostar Playa Mita, we were in frequent communication with Aaron, then Mildred, concierges at the resort. They ensured that all of our dinner reservations, transportation and other details were arranged well ahead of time. I thought that this was a great touch and really appreciated the hard work both Aaron and Mildred did prior to our visit to help make it perfect. On the day of arrival, as we were getting off the highway we had to pass though security at the entrance to the Litibu Golf Course (The resort is located inside the golf course). Our driver was checked again at the entrance to the resort. As a law enforcement professional, I appreciated the dual layer of security from the start. Once out of the car we were greeted by Mildred, our assigned concierge, addressed by name and welcomed to the property to check in. At the entrance to the huge open air lobby with marble floors, guests are treated to a breathtaking view of the resort. The check in process was effortless and quick. On a side note, we felt that every employee we came in contact with was personally committed to ensuring that we had the perfect vacation. Room accommodations: Arriving at my room, I was pleased to see that the room was spacious. Our room had two double beds, a sofabed along with a chair for inside seating and a seat for the desk. In each of our rooms, we were greeted to a chilled bottle of sparkling wine, and an assortment of fruits nuts and cheeses. All three rooms were also equipped with a telephone, flat screen television, mini fridge stocked full with and assortment of beers, water, juices and sodas. On the counter above, bottles of both red and white wines, candy bars, lemon salted peanuts and a Nespresso machine with pods ready to brew. In the closet; two robes, a safe an umbrella and iron & ironing board. In the bathrooms; another telephone, two sets of slippers, lighted magnifying mirror, blow dryer, toothbrush with toothpaste, shave kit, sewing kit, vanity kit, shoe mitt, shower cap, upgraded shampoo, conditioner, soap, bath gel, and lotion. Air conditioner and ceiling fans are standard in the rooms as well as balcony or patio with outside seating and expandable drying rack for your bathing suits. The rooms are kept up twice a day. Dalila was assigned to keep our room up. We appreciated her good attitude, hard work, attention to detail and willingness to ensure that we were comfortable the whole time. Iberostar Playa Mita has much to offer. The resort is home to several premium restaurants; French, Steakhouse, Japanese & Mexican. We went to all of these except the Mexican restaurant because of our schedule did not permit. I will write separate reviews for the three restaurants we did attend. On top of the premium restaurants, the resort has buffets going for breakfast, lunch, dinner and midnight snack overflowing with delicious food and a wide assortment of deserts. The wait staff at the buffet was exceptional especially Julio, who remembered what we liked and made sure to have drinks ready so that we could start breakfast off right. If that’s not all, they have a coffee shop stocked with snacks. The resort hosts a premium spa (I will be writing a separate review for the spa), cigar lounge, library, teen club, & kids club. On the grounds there were 3 pools (not counting the one in the spa). Tennis courts, archery and air rifle ranges are located near the entrance to the resort. We tried the Air rifle and Archery tournaments. Nancy did a great job ensuring safety and helping with anything we needed. She even joined the archery competition to even up the teams. Although she is an expert shot with the bow, I was able to get her to laugh enough when it was her turn to help another team get the upper hand. Thanks again Nancy for a great experience and a fun time! On the beautiful deck overlooking the beach and ocean, we spent time in the prestige area which hosts two Jacuzzi’s, private lounge chairs and its own bar. The staff in the prestige area were extremely attentive. Mario made sure that our drinks were filled and our snacks were plentiful. Daniel helped with the drinks and food as well as perfect lounge chair and umbrella placement. Astrid, the concierge for the area, made sure to coordinate anything we needed and ensured that we were not wanting for anything. The team in this area worked seamlessly to make our stay enjoyable. Thanks again Astrid, Daniel & Mario! In the prestige lounge, we were treated to snacks both savory and sweet as well as a private bar tended by expert mixologist Armando who made sure that we had the best tasting drinks. During the week he taught a mixology class sharing some of his expertise with us. In the prestige lounge Mildred was available to help us book excursions and reservations outside of the resort. She is truly a gem to work with and paid attention to all of the details. Thank you Armando & Mildred! I know that I am not covering all of what this great resort has to offer because our goal was mainly set on relaxing and unwinding. Notable thanks go out to Samir El Sharkawi for teaching us how to get the most of the membership, pointing us in the direction of the best places to go and things to do while here in Playa Mita. Not only did his great advice save us lots of money, we had first class experiences and memories that will last us a lifetime! On a side note, his guidance is continuing to save us money outside of Iberostar. Wow! Thanks again Samir. I must take the time to mention my appreciation for the work of other staff members at Iberostar Playa Mita. First, Alex, he is truly the host with the most, always ready to help out and make sure the events are going strong. You are a fun MC! Secondly, I must throw a shout out to Miguel, who was assigned to keep the lobby area in pristine condition. Watching him smile and dance while he was cleaning lets us know that he genuinely enjoys his job. This also tells me that Iberostar takes care of their staff. The general mood of the staff is upbeat and happy making it an ideal setting for great service. Again, thanks to the staff at Iberostar Playa Mita for giving us the perfect vacation!

The resort was beautiful and very clean. The staff was friendly and efficient. The specialty restaurants would be recommended for your evening meals. The buffets have plenty of choices but get boring. The beach side bar burgers are the best during the day.

Beautiful resort!

This was my first time in Mexico so I don't have anything to compare it to, but I can't imagine a resort being any nicer than this one for the money. The staff was very friendly and accommodating which is a key to a great vacation. We were upgraded to a room with a walkout to the beach which was very convenient and nice and quiet. I think any room would have been good, even the rooms facing the pool were situated so they were still private enough. The food was good, especially the Japanese restaurant. We liked the location because it was somewhat secluded, not full of neighboring resorts. We would definitely come back!

From the time we arrived, this was a great experience! Check in was a breeze, room was centrally located, food was great and drinks were wonderful. We would recommend this all-inclusive in a heartbeat.
