My husband and I just returned from a 5 day stay and I wish it could have been longer. The resort is absolutely beautiful. It is away from the hustle and bustle of Puerto Vallarta. We spent our time at the beach. I don’t think we even made it to the pool. The service was exceptional. From the moment we checked in until the moment we checked out the staff was exceptional and very accommodating. We never passed one employee who didn’t acknowledge us and say hello. The room was beautiful and faced the ocean and to hear the waves at night was amazing. If you are looking for someplace out of the way and want to relax this is the place. I would highly recommend Iberostar Playa Mita to anyone.

We flew to Puerto Vallarta from LAX on November 21, 2017. Here are some observations/tips for anyone going for the first time. We arrived at the airport and got through customs rather quickly. Where you get hung up is all the vendors that you run into after customs that get you. We told them we had already made arrangements for a pick up through Expedia and they kept sending me to different desks under the pretense that they were sending me to the Expedia desk. DON'T FALL FOR IT!! By the 4th time, we're angry and finally made it out of the airport where our Expedia representative was waiting for us. I highly recommend Airport Concierge Services for your drive to the property. We were pleasantly met by Alicia who walked us to our car and made sure we were taken care of. Our driver, Jose Lopez, was the greatest!! He picked us up in a beautiful, clean car and spoke with us about the country and gave us a few pointers. We even requested that Jose pick us up for our return. Jose said that Airport Concierge Services is also starting tours for the southside of Puerto Vallarta which includes seeing the countryside and a private lunch. The next time we hope to take the tour with Jose. We arrived at Iberostar safely and walked into the lobby. To be quite frank, this was Iberostar's last chance with us since we had stayed at a couple in Cuba and we were not impressed. I'm glad we gave them another chance. This is a beautiful property and all of the staff couldn't be more helpful and kind. We upgraded to an oceanfront room and had beautiful views. The room was certainly big enough for the two of us with a balcony where you can sit and listen to the waves and have a beer out of your mini fridge. The beach is nice and they bring out chairs, umbrellas and they serve you on the beach. The only problem with the beach is you are hit up every 5 minutes by local vendors with anything from jewelry, cigars, sarongs, etc. After a while, we decided to go to the pool. It was a huge pool with a swim up bar. There is a separate kids section although they can also swim in the large pool. There are daily activities. We didn't attend any of the shows unfortunately because we were beat and just wanted to relax. Later in the week, we purchased a Star Prestige pass that allows you access to the cabanas and the hot tub area. They have premium liquors in this area. You have a private concierge that will make spa reservations, dinner reservations, etc. It's a quiet area and a great alternative to the vendors and the noisy pool. It also had great views of the whales. This property has 4 restaurants in addition to the buffet. We tried each of them. The Pacific Express (French) was good but if you are a true lover of authentic French food then you might not enjoy it as much. The Japanese restaurant was good also. The Mexican restaurant was good but to tell you the truth the buffet was just as good. Luckily we were fine eating later in the evening so we had no problems with getting any reservations. The earliest reservation we had was at 8:00 p.m. It was a very pleasant and relaxing trip and we do plan on going back. I highly recommend the property and I recommend you making reservations with Airport Concierge Services for your transportation.

Great place for kids!!

We travelled to this region for the first time with my family. We have 2 kids one 4 year old and one 18 month old. This resort was great, and it is a place that i am wanting to return to soon. Hotel: The hotel rooms were clean and modern with great wifi access that was included. Our room had a partial view of the ocean and the golf course and had a great view of the sunset. My only con is the fridge in both my room and my in-laws was not very cold and it was on the coldest setting. Food: Food was great and selection was nice. No body in my family had any complaints of quality and was always satisfied. My only feedback would be is sometimes the reload on the food dishes was a little slow but not much of an inconviencne. Golf: Me and my father in-law golfed twice at the litibu golf course right by the hotel. The golf was reasonable with costing 89 USD per round (we had our own clubs, not sure of cost with renting) to golf in AM and 59 USD to golf in afternoon (after 11pm it is really hot, would recommend the am!!). All in all we had a great trip!! The staff were great, and super nice. My kids loved the entertainment and the kids area with the watersides and wading pool. They also have kids club activities that are run all day. I highly recommend this place and like i said i am already planning my next vacation here hopefully soon.

Very relaxing vacation😎

We spent 10 days on a Sunquest vacation via Westjet at this lovely all inclusive resort. It is 45 minutes north of Puerto Vallarta airport The resort is beautiful with lots of attention to detail. We had a 3rd floor ocean front junior suite and it was stunning. The balcony was very private, the crashing waves and view amazing. The beach stretches for miles and is very walkable when the tide is out. You can also walk very safely around the resort as a golf course surrounds it. Housekeeping is top notch -morning and evening service with always a nice touch of fresh flowers or towel animals. Our concierge Derek was so pleasant and helpful. The whole entertainment crew, Marco, Victor, Marina were lots of fun. Pool side service was great. All the service at the resort was great. The food was good, very fresh vegetables but it was a bit boring. Drinks were good and the sparkling wine was good too. The specialty restaurants were ok, nothing exceptional. The resort has shuttle service for a fee to a few places. You have to reserve a few days in advance. We took a taxi ( all set prices) to Sayulita - great place. Go to San Pedro's for pizza ! We also took a taxi to Nuevo Vallarta to visit friends. We walked to Punta Mita but not much there. We would return, in fact we met a few couples who keep returning to this resort. It is also very family oriented, lots of weddings and groups but also great for couples. If you want a relaxing all inclusive, this resort is a great choice.

Resort even better than before

I am always trying to find a deal anywhere and Iberostar Playa Mita always comes up at the top. $1455 Canadian for Oceanfront room, 1 week with Air Canada Including the same day connector flight from Vancouver Island. 3 minutes to load up the provided mini bus with a few people and arrived non stop at Iberostar in 40 minutes. Easy check in with drink and warm cloth and complementary upgrade from oceanfront room to oceanfront jr suite. As good as it gets for any unobstructed beach front ocean view in Mexico. Easily booked specialty restaurants for every evening with choice of times and restaurants. All food and service even better than before. All restaurants and buffets improved from before. Steak, Octopus, Lamb, soups, lunches salads and drinks. We rarely had a normal coffee anywhere. Always a special coffee like cappuccino, espresso, latte etc. Star Caffe is now open 24/ 7. Never any waits anytime. Drink service as usual was great around the resort. Live shows in the Litibu Theatre were amazing with 7 piece band. This is an actual indoor auditorium with state of the art sound and lighting. Sunday night Rock Show is as good as it gets as well as Monday Pop and Saturday Broadway Boulevard. This is not someone lip syncing to a Michael Jackson CD like some Nuevo Vallarta resorts. Arrive anytime at the Litibu Theatre. You sit down with a perfect view and drink service. We would always listen to the live band in the Adalita bar. Never again having to get up for a drink. Again even with the resort near capacity there were hundreds of empty chairs around the pool. I happened to read a review the same time at the Riu Vallarta and a person said they could not find one chair around the pool. Not one! I would not go to a resort like Riu even if it were free. Went down to the beach and a guy ran towards us to put in a free umbrella for us. No problems front row unobstructed view of the ocean with the water a few meters away . Not sardined 100's of feet back from the waters edge several rows back under a palm tree like some Nuevo Vallarta resorts. The beach was beautiful every day and calm enough for children to be in every day. Walk a few minutes down the beach ,look both ways and see nobody. Hardly any rocks and nice and flat. No sea weed or Caribbean Sargassum. I was surprised some days how many fish were banging into my feet. This was late November. They had a turtle release one evening. Lots of nice little things that make a difference like free WiFi in your room( this is 2017/ 2018) and resort wide, basic 24 hour room service, free umbrellas on the beach, pool open from 8am until 8 pm,. No problems exchanging towels, they even refresh your towel around the pool. My room was cleaned twice a day, always turn down device, beer fridge always full. Check out time is noon. Extra bottle of tequila. Can't beat the sunset views and sounds from the Sea Soul Lounge overlooking the beach. Washrooms are everywhere around the resort. 3 sets by the pool. Even washrooms by the swim up bar. What a concept. Washrooms also at the beach. I love having 2 choices for breakfast. Nopal indoor in the lobby and La Bahia open air by the pool. Another reason I choose Iberostar Playa Mita is because of the location. LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION. All outdoor activities are close by and without the crowds. As good as it gets. Fishing , boating, sailing, whale watching, snorkeling, SUP, surfing, diving, hiking, biking golf etc. Dressel Divers leaves right from the Iberostar beach bar ATVS, RZRs, horseback riding and the largest zip line area by far in all of Puerto Vallarta only 8 minutes away. Picked up at the lobby and dropped off. Book in the lobby through Iberoservice wth Felipe . Bus stop out front and Iberostar will shuttle you right to the bus stop. Higuera Blanca, Punta de Mita, Sayulita, San Pancho, La Cruz and Bucerias all from 5 to 25 minutes away. From Iberostar there are over 200 restaurants within 15 minutes and 300 within 25 minutes. Do not believe anyone who says Iberostar is isolated except for the Walmart ,Costco and McDonald's lovers or for people who like cruising the bars of Puerto Vallarta until 5am in the morning full of old guys in rainbow speedos. I ran out of time to do more things again but always find a new bar or place to eat. Took the shuttles in to Bucerias and Sayulita. Went horseback riding and zip lining with Vista Paraiso 8 minutes away. Went to the new Rhythms of the Night - Savia. Vallarta Adventures rep met us at the Iberostar Lobby and it was a 35 minute drive. 45 minute boat ride and 45 minute show followed by buffet dinner. It was all ok but we actually enjoyed some of the entertainment at Iberostar just as much or even more. Overall a great trip and will be back again.
