Nice hotel, but needs work

I visited Jamaica April 21-25, 2017. Traveled with my hubby and 2 other couples. Upon arriving the grounds are gorgeous, entrance to the hotel is just as grand as the pictures detail. However the rooms and hallways to the rooms need work. Walking along the hallways you see a lot of patches of paint and discoloration. During our entire stay we saw maintenance guys painting all over the entire resort in various places, but still would see some areas with odd patches of paint. The room is nice, the bathroom is large and amazing, but the temperature in the rooms are stale. While the room does get cold 19.5C, the air is stale and mildew-y. It's livable, but noticeable. We had a swim up pool, which was an awesome upgrade at no additional charge, but the only rooms available during our stay had double beds. King bed with swim up pools are available however. Throughout the room and hotel you'll definitely notice where maintenance is needed for sure, but nothing to ruin your day. The staff onsite are extremely helpful, kind and go out of their way to ensure your stay is truly enjoyable. Our group's favorite restaurants were Japanese, French, Italian. Majority of the staff recommended surf and turf, but don't waste your time. It was our least favorite. We didn't get a chance to eat the Jamaican restaurant, although you do eat there for breakfast and lunch since it is outside facing the beach. I'm rating this hotel Excellent because the staff and overall appeal were incredible.

My husband and I got married here the first week of April joined by twenty members of our friends and family. Mostly couples, everyone stayed between five and eight days. We had perfect weather all week. This resort was amazing! The staff was super friendly and accommodating, every meal was fantastic, grounds were gorgeous... And the wedding was absolutely beautiful - Everything we could have imagined! Wedding coordinator Syrecka went above and beyond to make sure our experience was perfectly memorable!

My wife and I have been at the Iberostar Lindo in the Riviera Maya on 3 occasions. This is the first at the Grand. Great food, nice beach, immaculate rooms and property. Service is very good. We didn't really use the butler service other than a restaurant change. The room service is ok. Chose the Grand over Secrets which was the correct choice. We would definitely go back.

My girlfriend and I had never been away for a real vacation by ourselves without family etc.( other than weekends to Niagara and the like). We were really looking forward to a relaxing week.Although the property came highly recommended by our travel agent and a few people we work with, we still were not prepared for what we were about to experience. From the first second we stepped off the bus to the moment we left we were treated like we were a King and Queen. We were immediately greeted with warmth and humour by the irrepressible Chadwick. While the Concierge desk was temporarily busy he immediately took us to the lobby bar. Very intuitive man! He then handed us over into the very capable hands of Chenice, our concierge on duty at the time, who immediately booked all of our a la carte dinners and explained everything to us.Chenice, Moesha and Denique were indispensable in keeping us organized and on track , not an easy task at all! Chadwick took our luggage to our room and no sooner had we started to open our bags to unpack , literally , when there was a knock on the door and we were greeted by our superstar personal butler Sanjay. He gave us a tour of our wonderfully appointed and large room with an awesome view of the garden, pool , beach and ocean. He told us all we needed to do was call and he would look after anything. He was absolutely true to his word throughout the whole week. When he was off we were treated equally wonderfully by Denston and , for one morning , Romando. We had not been on the resort for 1 hour yet and we were already astounded by the attentiveness and true warmth of the staff. There are not enough superlatives to describe the food. The dinner, lunch and breakfast buffets are second to none in my experience and I have travelled extensively especially for business and some for pleasure. The French Gourmet and Jamaican a la cartes were our favourites. The beach was beautiful, the sandy bottom was welcoming, the gentle slope was appreciated and the water a perfect temperature. The service on the beach was also top notch with special shout outs to Hakeem, Jay-Von, Lisa-Ann , Patrice and Jodiann. We were also treated tremendously well on our yacht excursion by Captain Delroy, Julie and Orel. The Star Friends kept the fun flowing at the pool and at the shows in the theatre especially Jessica and Thunda, truly fun people. The attention to detail ,cleanliness etc. was astounding. One afternoon , while back in the room before heading out on an excursion, I answered a knock on the door by a gentleman from maintenance who told me he was here to replace a light bulb. I said he may have had the wrong room because we didn't call about a burnt out bulb. He said no, he was told by the housekeeping staff that one was out in the bathroom and sure enough it was true. In all my experience that was a huge first. All in all we can't find find any negatives with this hotel , such is their attention to all things. The property was beautiful and well maintained, the food was outstanding , but most all of the people made the vacation absolutely unforgettable. -KT

Spent 5 days here recently and was very impressed with the resort. Rooms were very nice. Large bathroom with double vanity, shower and whirlpool tub. 2 double beds with separate sitting area and then a very spacious and private balcony with a double hanging chair And love seat all overlooking the pool and ocean . Food was very good at all locations and best of all are the people. Very friendly And always accomadating . I would definitely recommend and will go back
