My wife and I booked the vacation using Lisa at Beach Bum Vacations. She has booked many of our family's trips, and again this time did not disappoint. The quality of the service was absolutely outstanding. The butlers were there for us to do whatever it took to make our stay pleasurable. The food was also outstanding. We had some difficulties with the rebooked reservations, but Jared, our Butler, got everything taken care of. The room was very comfortable, mini bar always stocked, amazing food at every turn, and clean and relaxing pools plus a great beach. I will be back for sure!

We were attending a wedding in Jamaica but wanted to stay at an upscale resort so we chose the Iberostar Grand. It was a beautiful property with spacious rooms and large bathrooms with 2 sides so you can get ready at the same time! The pool and beach were wonderful and the buffet had so much variety it is like going to 5 restaurants at once! The lobby was beautiful with floor to ceiling windows. The butler and staff were helpful and kind. I loved the large balcony with the swing and lounge. I spent alot of time sunning myself and relaxing while looking at the ocean - I would recommend an ocean view! The hotel was easy to navigate and I would definitely return! We love the quiet upscale adults only atmosphere.

From the ability to customize your wants and needs prior to arriving this resort exceeded all of our expectations. Arrival and check in was smooth. The lobby is beautiful and welcoming. The check-in staff was friendly and efficient. Our room had an ocean view and was spacious and nice, the swing on the porch is a nice touch. The butler (Donovan) was great and gave us a warm introduction to the resort. The grounds are lovely and it's the perfect size, not too big or not too small. Let's start with the staff. Everyone we encountered has a smile and is exceedingly friendly. To name a few Shevard in the lobby bar is my new favorite bartender. He came in early the night before we left to say goodbye. Clive is also great. Keion, Jerry and Jerome at the pool bar made the day floating in the pool extra fun. The entertainment staff was great....all of them but we were particularly fond of Hashtag. He was a riot. Finally a shout out to our buddy Junior who was instrumental in us joining the Iberostar Club. The food was top notch. We ate at all of the sit down restaurants for dinner and had the buffets for breakfast and lunch. The breakfast buffets were amazing and featured anything you could ever want. Lunch was so-so depending on the day. We actually preferred the grill at the pool bar to the buffet. The service at dinner was top notch as were the meals. I would rank the Surf and Turf #1, we went twice and both meals were great. Filet one night, rack of lamb the second, appetizers and desserts were good as well. We also liked the gourmet restaurant and the Italian restaurant. The food at the Jamaican restaurant was good but the service was not. The first night at the Japanese was good but the second night was the only true bad experience of our visit. The bars are lively and fun both in the pool and the lobby. The shows at night were both fun and professional and as I said above the entertainment staff was welcoming and fun. The pool staff was fantastic accommodating every desire with both towels and floats. They even had extra lotion if you forgot yours or needed a higher SPF. We had photos taken and both Derrick and Wayne were funny, very professional and took great pictures. We have stayed at Secrets, Sandals, Excellence and Valentin....Iberostar was the overall best we have stayed at. If I had a tiny gripe it would be the smell in the hallways and the elevators going to the upper floors. It smelled like a meat smoker??? The towels in the bathrooms could have been softer especially after a day in the sun. Thank you to everyone at the Iberostar Grand for making our stay so wonderful.

Small hiccup but great hotel

Well i'll get the hiccup out of the way... we originally were booked (party of 6) at the suites but when we arrived they told us we had been upgraded! yay! they moved us to the grand, which was beautiful! two of our party was arriving the second day so we checked into ours. The second day when we went to make sure their check in would be smooth they said they had no record of more people and that we would have to purchase a third room because the grand only allows two per room instead of the 3 per room allowed at the other hotel. While I'm not disagreeing with their policy of two per room, if we were three per room at the hotel we originally booked and the hotel itself decided to upgrade they should have done so to accommodate everyone in our reservation.... not happy about all of that and we are still trying to get it worked out but the rest of our trip was great. The food was amazing at all of the places we tried, the buffet food (Quick tip you can do buffet breakfast at the main restaurant AND the beach restaurant which we didn't know until the last morning) was even amazing! the room service spaghetti was awesome as well which room service food can be a little hit and miss at times. The floors have dedicated butler and maid service and they are all on point!! you will ALWAYS have what you need from them with some exceptions, but beware of the guest service lady you have to call at night she's a little testy... and they won't have basic hygiene products you need you have to purchase them yourself from the store (and the hours vary!!!) the pool bar is amazing and the bartenders and star service are so attentive and friendly its crazy amazing!! overall I would go back but would make sure I have absolutely every little hygiene thing I need and would triple quadruple check any changes they make to my reservation. OH! and our safe was broken and they couldn't replace it if thats important to some people.

what a disaster -- guests subjected to high handed behaviour by staff and management (twice)

we were 'upgraded' from the Suites due to overbooking; what a disaster. they are more concerned here about their routines and preferences than anything the guest wants or needs. The management is surly and rigid in their thinking and actions. our room was changed 3 times over our 4 day stay to try to get us into the room category that we paid for. They have butler service but it is not at all effective; e.g. when we were moved from one room to the next there was not communication of the wants/needs so therefore we either got no turndown, no afternoon snack or drink or both. we asked for a simple cheese tray twice between 5-7 (i.e. before dinner) and despite the butler and manager's assurances, we never got it at all. We were subjected to several upsetting and embarrassing incidents with staff that left us feeling victimized and scared. The food isn't bad but they limit the number of reservations to half full for their convenience so you eat at the buffet a lot. Don't take the late seating because they will be cleaning up and resetting tables instead of serving you. Suffice to say we won't be back and we would be leery of going to an Iberostar ever again considering that this is their highest level of hotel in the chain's hierarchy
