Beautiful resort- great staff

There were 8 of us in our party. We had a wonderful Time. The staff was wonderful specially the entertainment staff. Rooms were very clean but ours was a bit damp. The only negative I would say is the water treatment plant next to the resort. I would highly Recommend this resort.

The food was very good. The bathroom has been updated and was nice. The room needs updating with new linens, pillows, drapes and paint. Maid service was good and the entertainment people and activity staff was very good. The beach has good shade but is very rocky.

Excellent service at the restaurant & bars. Great staff. Poor quality liquor at the bars. Average food - nothing special or outstanding. Pool water temperature was too cold to even get in. Weather was also so bad that half of our planned scuba dives were cancelled. Was supposed to have $500 in resort credits, but only received a room upgrade. No romantic dinner, no credits toward wine, & no message credits that were promised by Apple.

We stayed here right after the resort first opened. They hadn’t even finished all the details. This trip was better then we remembered the first one being. Great staff- friendly, helpful and courteous. Ample food. Decent variety. Great drinks. Fun family atmosphere. Easy with or without kids. Will definitely be returning.

Hotel and food services were excellent. Food quality was very good, but limited for a 5 star property, e.g., no lobster, limited fish choices, etc. Note: Their $500 discount package was useless, given that their massage treatments, gift shop products, etc. are overpriced.

This was not our first visit to Cozumel, although it was our first visit to Iberostar. This resort exceeded our expectations and we enjoyed ourselves during the visit. Dressel Divers on property was a added feature and we enjoyed all the dives we had with this company. It was very convenient to have the dive sight on property. The staff and Apple representative were extremely helpful with all requests. If traveling to Cozumel, give this resort a try, it will be worth it. The food, drinks and spa were excellent.

Iberostar Cozumel is phenomenal!

Our family stayed at Iberostar Cozumel for a week. We were all impressed by the entire staff at the hotel. The service was excellent everywhere you went in the resort. The atmosphere is so warm at this hotel. I have never had this type of experience and I have traveled all over the world. They had so many great activities for the kids including games like darts, bingo, pool volleyball and basketball. They even had disco night every night for the kids and had different activities planned for them. The food was amazing! They offered buffets for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. They also had a steakhouse and Chinese restaurant. My husband and daughter love to dive so they booked 3 dives with Dresssel dive shop that is located right there at the resort. The master divers took such great care of them and were always so friendly and enthusiastic. My son and I went out on the same boat and went snorkeling every time. We saw a sea turtle, baracudas, stingrays, a nurse shark, and 7 black tip reef sharks. The reef is breathtaking. I highly recommend staying at Iberostar. We have already decided that we will be booking another vacation out to Cozumel and it will definitely be at Iberostar.

Nice Vacation

The Resort was nice. We enjoyed our stay. We were not happy with our room. We booked in Jan. 2017 for stay in Nov. 2017 and we did not get the King bed we booked our room had 2 double beds. Room was small but clean. Little disappointed that we only could go to 2 specialty restaurants for a 7 night stay. The buffet food was cold most nights. Selection was pretty much the same every night. Beach was nice but rocky but we knew that before we went. Water was warm. Drink servers on the beach were really nice. Pool was clean. Had a beach grill and soft serve ice-cream all day. Everyone who worked there were really friendly and nice.

Dressler Dive Shop
VONDA D.
Nov 13 2017
Iberostar uses Dressler for all onsite diving. The staff at the front desk is extremely rude. We will never dive with them for this reason alone. They also load their dive boats to full capacity, go to the same few sites, and the trips are only 40 minutes. Could work around everything but the rudeness

Relaxing Vacation

Resort was awesome ... love the bungalows, the path through the mini forest, the pool temperatures, the white sandy beach, the incredible service by all the staff, the care for the resort animals, the great cocktails, the relaxing atmosphere, the entire experience. The only negative I would say is you cannot walk into the water at the beach due to all the rocks. I would definitely return to this resort. Oh, and my Apple Representatives were also great...very helpful and super friendly.

Very Fun Family Trip
J P, Dallas, Texas
Wed Feb 21 11:48:14 EST 2018
We were a group of 16 family members, ranging in age from 11 to 80, coming from the Southwest and the Northeast. We stayed for 6 nights, from December 22 to 28. I am usually a bit nervous when booking for this many people and range of tastes, but I should not have worried. Everyone had a blast. The rooms are part of smaller, two story buildings, each with two rooms on each floor. We had a king sized bed, decent sized room, okay TV, decent sized bathroom (shower, no bath) and good hot water. The room was clean and kept clean by the staff (with nice towel animals posed on your bed). Much better than a mid rise we had been to previously. We were six or seven houses from the water, but that turned out to be a benefit, as it was much quieter. This is a smaller property, kind of a long thin strip from water to the entrance. The grounds crew was cleaning it almost every moment--the place felt well groomed, with a bridge over a flock of flamingos and turtles, with giant geckos in the trees. The pool was good sized, with a very convenient swim-up bar. The beach had white sand, and they were good at getting chairs out for people to lie on. The water was a mix of stones and sand, and was very shallow. There is a dive dock at one end with a constant stream of dive boats pulling up (this is a big diving facility), and there were hundreds of fish lurking under the dock if you wanted to see wildlife. Next to the water was a bar, a snack bar for lunch (burgers, fajitas, and a mix of other salad items), and a dive facility (we did not dive, so I only went there for snorkeling equipment). The bartenders were friendly and would make whatever you asked--I liked the limonadas (lemon juice, lime, syrup, soda and mint if you ask), so I would not be in an alcoholic stupor by lunch. This is a smaller facility, so the dining was not as extensive, but we enjoyed it. It is NOT a gourmet experience, and there is some repetition, but I found a couple of go-to items and enjoyed those. There is a covered space next to the pool where we went for lunch, with a range of hot and cold items (I liked the ceviche and the coconut ice cream). The main dining room was nice, and had a broad range of items. The Christmas dinner was beautifully done--great decorations, nice setup of the room, printed menus and whole, cold lobster(!). It was really fun for our entire group. The desserts were beautiful. There are several specialty restaurants. The steakhouse (the evening venue for the poolside dining area) was the best, and they would grill whatever you asked. The Asian place was a beautiful room, and somewhat pedestrian Asian choices (noodles, sushi, grilled meats, etc.). The Tex-Mex place (and late night bar/food) was the weakest, with okay food, but slow service. I used the exercise room daily, with a couple of treadmills, a couple elliptical trainers and various weight machines. It was clean, with decent TV. We also purchased services at the spa. I enjoyed my massages in particular, if not cheap. There were various activities to try (archery, riflery, tennis), and you could compete and receive medals for your performance at the evening presentations. There are a bunch of activities around the pool, and our group did the pool aerobics every morning. They also demo diving in the pool twice and day, and I tried that out--you can get fully PADI certified for a fee. I found the evening presentations the weakest part of our experience. The quality was all over the map, along with mixing in kid and very adult moments. The staff was very friendly and full of energy. There is a small craft shack--you can buy hats, license plates and other tschotkes, or paint wood and clay items. I had them do a customized plate for me ($40 all in, with all our names), and it was great. I would recommend this for families, and I think we would go back.

Somewhat disappointing

I'd first like to say, we've stay at the Iberostar 5 other times. The best thing the resort has going are its employees and the cleanliness. Everyone greeted you with a smile, a hola or hello. The resort grounds are well maintained. Our room #8111 was very clean also. The location of our room was great, next to the pool, the beach and Steak House. The Steak House also serves a buffet lunch. The main dining room is in the lobby area and near by are the Asian and Mexican Restaurant. We ate at the Steak House one time and had an enjoyable meal. We also ate at the Mexican restaurant twice. The first time the food and service was great. The second time was a disaster. We waited 10 minutes for someone to take our drink order. I ordered scotch on the rocks and the waiter returned and said they don't have any scotch. C'mon no scotch? Then we waited another 15 minutes for someone to take our order. Our meal was served in about 30 minutes and it was cold. That's when we left. As far as the alcoholic drinks go, I thought they were pouring "short" drinks in all the bars and restaurants True you can all the booze or wine you want, but it will take a time to be served. Bottom line...will we visit the resort again, we doubt it.

Had a great time with so many laughs with the people we met. The staff are friendly and will help you anyway they can. The rooms are small but adequate. Ate at the buffet the entire vacation as we found enough choices for us and did not want to schedule anything. Rented a scooter for $50 with our Air Canada representative Wilson and it was great and easy to get around. Got some snorkeling in with William from Dresil Divers as he was a lot of fun. He is there on an internship so he rely on tips to be able to stay down there and deserves them as he works hard. Eddie from Dresil Divers got me in the pool but did not have time to actually dive. But thanks Eddie. I will be back. The one I want to mention the most is Cristian Brito Canche. He is a waiter at the evening buffet and was energetic and funny. He treated us well and seem to really go the extra mile compared to others. Keep up the amazing work Cristian. The resort really needs to do something about the septic smell that was near the theater that made it unbearable to watch the shows. The beach is clean and lots of chairs. The pool area was good. Could have more choices of tequila as most of it was not good for shots compared to other resorts I have been at.

Amazing vacation!!!!

My wife and I were at the Iberostar for the week starting Feb 9th 2018, we were greeted by friendly staff right away with a drink upon arrival. Check in was quick and easy and we were shuttled to our room with our luggage. The room was not huge by any means but a decent size, was fairly recently updated and very clean. The bed was a bit firm for our liking but not terrible. We left the maid $20 usd the first morning we were there and she kept the room very clean and tidy every day with a new towel creature on the bed every day and a full fridge with beer, water and pop. The grounds were well taken care of and full of natural beauty including lots of iguanas, peacocks, parrots and flamingos. Almost a jungle type feeling while you are there. Food at the resort was great with two buffets and three Ala Carte, we only did the Steak Ala Carte but we weren’t impressed with it. Buffet food was always good with a good variety of food that had a different theme everyday. Beach buffet had good food including burgers, hotdogs, nachos, fries etc. A few different bars around which had friendly staff and good drinks but tended to be a bit slow during peak drinking times. The beach was small but never packed full of people, kept clean and there was always beach chairs available. Swimming was best off the stairs on the pier due to the shore being a bit rocky, huge amount of fish and other creatures around the pier which was great for snorkelling. While snorkelling around the beach we saw a few different types of fish, some coral, a couple manta rays and a few starfish. There’s a diving charter and store right at the resort with pickups for dives right at the pier. We didn’t do any dives but from what I here it’s a good area for it. We did a snorkelling excursion and a fishing charter which we were picked up directly from the pier, very handy. Snorkelled three reefs on the Alberto’s snorkelling excursion, all three were great and so was the guide Isa!! Fishing charter was fun although the water was extremely rough that day which led to my wife getting sea sick, we caught a Mahi Mahi and a barracuda. The entertainment during the day was very good, nightly entertainment was not our style as we tend to like live bands with a variety of music including cultural music. The only negatives we had all week was a septic type smell everyday depending on which way the wind was blowing and I had a shower door hinge break causing the entire glass door to smash leaving broken glass everywhere including all over me and a few small cuts and scratches. We called the front desk and the staff was there right away to clean it up and offered me medical attention which I declined because it wasn’t needed, the door was replaced in a couple of hours. The situation was a fluke accident and they took care of it properly and quickly.

Do not hesitate, book it!

My family and I had a great time July 2017. It had been 17 years since I had been to Cozumel and it didn't disappoint. Iberostar staff and facilities were top notch. We did not have any issues with smells in our room. The food and drinks were great. Had a great time and look forward to the next visit.
