We are presently on day 6 of a two week holiday. Yes we are still here. First the positives- reception, communal areas, gardens are all beautiful. Some staff are lovely, pleasant, smile and speak to you like friends, especially the waiters around the pool area. Think that's it for the positives now the negatives. Room furniture and bathrooms need updating. Housekeeping keep missing things out of your room that should be replaced, we have had to ask for t bags, milk, and water, our mini bar has never been stocked up at all during our stay. Bar near reception has really bad service unless u tip them, they actually ignore you and serve someone else especially if they are female. Drinks are full of ice and of poor quality. Restaurants - the main one, some staff say you are my family I will look after you but if you don't tip then you are no longer family. Some don't even greet you with a smile rather than a frown. The salt pots are full but holes are blocked so no Salt they only need to put a few rice grains in the salt and all would be fine. The buffet food is just warm by the time you sit down its cold. We have never been asked if we would like wine with our meal only water. Steak house - ate there last night well what a shambles that was we had a booking for 9pm but was told we could arrive for 8pm and he would sort it. We arrived and was made to wait while 9pm. We sat at 9pm and by 9.30pm staff were dragging tables around setting them for bfast, they were shouting at each other over our heads and this is a supposed to be a speciality restaurant, no way it was abysmal. Food was just warm when arrived although starters were all cold. We left before finishing. Jambalaya- starters cold, mains was warm but not hot although nicely presented. Staff decided to remove plates before all had finished. Again speciality restaurant like being in a cafe. Dominicana restaurant- all food again cold good quality but cold. I opted for the cannelloni which has just been put out on display again stone cold although tasty. Staff very attentive here and at least we were asked if we wanted a drink. Staff pleasant here and happy. Entertainment- staff do majority of it. Basically dancing to music and audience participation which can be very boring to watch. We have not seen a singer or group from the outside just staff doing their thing. The dancers are good. We are not afraid of tipping and have done so every day since being here to the staff who are polite, friendly, and have a smile. We are a group of 4 adults.

Exceptional service

Wonderful service. Our butler Corder was very accommodating. Our room was always stocked with Items we preferred. The couples massage was very relaxing. The spa had a variety of options. Many activities to do though the day in addition to enjoying the beach side pool. Mini-me hosted archery which was very fun. The wet bar bartenders made exceptional drinks. At the cigar bar, Kelsea and Ingrid, were more then helpful when it came to selecting our style cigar choices, as well as making innovative mixologist drinks. I highly recommend this resort as the ultimate couples get away!!!

At check in, our room was ready. We had first a room at the second floor (first for European); because my wife have a problem with the stairs they quickly changed to the ground floor. No problem. The people at the reception were speaking very good English and are willing to solve all the problems. At booking the rooms were stated standard Junior suites. Arriving at the room, we had indeed a room which was according to the description of the booking. The rooms where cleaned every day. The cleaning lady always made a special thing with some towels. When it comes to the restaurants, the general buffet restaurant is really good and has a very big variation. Every day there is a new theme in the evening. There is always live cooking for breakfast, lunch and diner. The big chef asked if we needed something special to eat. If it’s not present in the normal buffet restaurant, they would cook it for us. My wife asked a meal in the form of Thai curry. Chef Danilo and Orlando made it very good for us. According to the booking, the mini bar in the room should be refilled every day. After two times we complained at the reception that the mini bar was not done, we don’t had any problems of refilling with the mini bar. Also there are some à la carte restaurants for dinner. This restaurants has to be reserved and there is a very strict schedule to enter and in these restaurants you have the feeling that there is a kind of time pressure. Therefore, after a 2 dinners in different à la carte restaurants, we always had our dinner in the big buffet restaurant. There is a very big swimming pool with bar, buffet restaurant and burger cooking. The beach is very nice and beautiful, including a beach bar. Every day, some people are cleaning the beach. At the bar there is plenty of international (non-)alcoholic drinks. The bartender (I remember Santiago Frias for example) are very entertaining and always remembered our favourite drinks. Every evening there is a show to entertain the residents at the club. These shows have every evening an other theme. The only drawback is that the most common language of these shows are in Spanish. At reservation there was a possible upgrade for access to the Spa area and to have access to the jacuzzi, sauna etc. . This was only 80,00 EUR per person and for the two weeks stay that we had in mind, but was not possible during the reservation. At arrival, we asked for that upgrade and was not possible. After visiting the Spa area we could use the Spa area for 25 USD per person and per day!!! We are travelling the whole world in all inclusive, but this was the first time we had to pay to enter the open air jacuzzi. Besides the Spa is a fitness centre. This is a very well equipped and practical space to do some daily exercise. We really enjoyed that fitness room. During the check out we wanted to check the weight of our luggage. At the reception is a scale but to use that one we had to pay 1 USD per luggage and this is really unacceptable for us. The domain is very well maintained. Every day we see people cleaning the garden, cutting the grass and people doing some repair / painting on some of the rooms. Conclusion: We really enjoy the holiday in this place, special the beach, bar, buffet restaurant. One big drawback was the fact that we had to pay for the jacuzzi and the weighing scale; this is unacceptable for us and really the first time for all the places we went around the whole world.

We've been coming here for 13 years and will continue to. The staff is just remarkable, rooms clean and the food is wonderful. The beach is gorgeous too! Would highly recommend people to visit any of their properties.

Worst experience in my life!

Problems all around in every way. But, let's start with good. Always enough chairs at the beach and pool, the resort grounds always looked nice, and the wedding coordinator and staff for our wedding were amazing. Other then that, we had to switch rooms 3 times to get the correct room and a room that was in good condition. Our maid threw away our wedding cake! And we all got E Coli from their food. We ate no where else besides the resort so the e coli came from their food. We are so sick! The List goes on and on, but we will keep it short and just stay away from here!
