Although the over all accomadations were good I would not rate this particular resort a 5+. I’ve been to other IBEROSTAR resorts that were a lot nicer and had better food options. I woul probably rate this resort more like a 3.5 or 4 but nothing above that.

Third time at this resort, renovations looked great, our only complaint is that the food choices seemed cut back since the renovation. The breakfast at the pool restaurant used to be steller, now there was 60% less choice, food was dryed out and cooked into the heated pans. We are not picky, but we could clearly see a difference. We spoke to our Apple rep. and he said he heard the same complaints from many other repeat clients.

Upset 😭 in Punta Cana

When arriving at the hotel they screwed up our reservations & couldn't stay in the room we booked & paid for. We were told we could move the next day so by the time we checked in we lived out of our suitcases until they moved us the next day. This room the sir wasn't working properly & the toilet wasn't flushing right. So I called down &a they sent people down & told us it would take a while. We needed to shower & get ready for our dinner. It first couple days we're disappointing. We have stayed here 2 other times & had to problems. We also brought some people with us & they screwed up there room also. They gave us a vocher for the store but I still think we deserve a refund for the first night. I tried to find an Apple rep for days & when I found one he was very rude & said he couldn't help. We were very disappointed 😔

The first 4 days were Ok. We didn't get turn down service as stated. We had to call to have the refrigerator restocked and we were only left beach towels on the first day. They also didn't restock our conditioner. The last days there we must have been assigned a different housekeeper as we had beach towels, turndown service and the towels made into shapes with the fresh flowers.

Our room was right next to the lobby/entertainment area. Could hear the music and talk till about 11:30 each night. There was mold on the bathroom wall. While there was a phone in our room, there was no cord connected, therefore when we needed something, we had to walk to the lobby. Asked for this to be corrected the day after arrival; was taken care of on our last day. Several other family members had problems with their rooms that were not addressed. No hot water in the entire resort one day-so cold showers. We have stayed a 4&5 star resorts throughout the Caribbean and this was a 3 at best. Given what we paid, I expected more. There were 20 family members staying here. (10 rooms) Some members tried to get into a specialty restaurant and were told no availability. But when others went in for their reservation, there were many empty tables. I think they say they have these special dining options but they want you to eat at the buffet. Easier and cheaper for them. The buffet had many choices, but most of what I tried was just fair. The specialty restaurants were pretty good. Most of the staff were very friendly and helpful. Not much of a drinker but did have a bad experience with one bartender one day when I asked her to make me a specific drink. We had a good time in spite of this because we were with family. we are going to make this an annual family trip but will not be back to this resort.

Simply great service - another great beach vacation.

Vacation was ten excellent days, July 8-18. Lost count or how many times we've been there, but this was the fifth one just since the start of 2017. We go back for many reasons: lovely beach with lots of palapas; great staff everywhere (reception, buffet, housecleaning; activities; etc.) Management staff that we've met is fully involved in their operations and takes particular attention to problem-solving. As other reviews have noted this was a bad time for seaweed. But a quick Google search will show that the problem is all around the Caribbean and Florida right now. Heroic efforts to remove the seaweed were ongoing all-day throughout our stay, but didn't detract from our enjoyment or use of the beach. We just booked our next ten-day vacation at the Iberostar Bavaro Suites for mid-December. Looking forward to seeing our friends there again.

many opportunities to pay more!

Iberostar Suites is a gorgeous property! Within 30 minutes of arrival we had spent an additional $1500. All rooms are the same basically but location is based on category. It is easily a full mile walk to the beach from the basic room group. First upgrade, unlike the RUI there are categories of alcohol, where you may sit on the beach, upgrades on toiletries in the room, upgrades on snacks in the room or available at the beach for consumption. Even where and how easy it is to check in is available for upgrade. Use of wet areas at the spa another upgrade. Do not bring solid black sneakers. Mine were stolen! While I am sure most of the workers do not steal, security came and thoroughly searched my room to make sure they really were lost. They said they would get back to me in 48 hours, it is now more than 48 days and no response. I did send a follow up email which also has not had a response. I booked though AMEX, Amex set up a conference call with the Iberostars people in Miami. The call was recorded. Questions regarding which resorts we could use were asked and answered. Two days before trip we were told that we could not use some of the facilities. Amex called Iberostar and played the recording but the manager said their person was wrong and would do nothing about it. This is a family resort and we are a family of 5. Sadly le Coupole only has tables for 2s and 4s. I do not speak Spanish so I did not understand le coupole means couple I read the blurb online and it said adults only. The youngest in our group was 23 and again disappointed in Bavaro. The website shows lovely pictures but does not have the necessary informaiton to make good choices when looking for a place to stay.

Hi there, I’ve so much positivity now and i am really enjoying my vacation. And there’s no “however”, only some suggestions. Can you guys hire more peeps for the seaweed crew. ~12 is now enough they can’t even finished the darkened seaweed of the day before. Perfect nest for mosquitos, vectors for zika virus and malaria. Latest CDC recommendation is no baby for 6 month for the gentlemen who got bite by mosquitos, it can be asymptomatic. Can we have real chopstick for Japanese restaurant? Come on u guys are 5 stars!! The Asian in me is highly upset by the apparent green tea in my desert. Green tea grow as a plant it is not w green powder that taste like ginger. Everything else was perfect though! Except our 5 attempts in 48 hours to try to get a second bathrobe. When we finally get it, the person put it on the bed right on top of the wonderful heart shaped towel art with flowers and all made by Mrs Adriana. That’s so much irrespect man. Oh and the windsurf instructor who tried to take the board in the middle of my reservation to give it to the peeps who paid for a class. Raymond... that was a cheap shot. I got it, it ran yesterday in the middle of their class but don’t u find 3 beginners in a 10m corridor filled with seaweed is a bit too crowded? And we reserved first with ur english speaking friend Lucy. It would be important that you talk to her, she has the schedule dude. Communication is the key Raymond. That’s all I can think of with a bit too much of mamajuana. The French restaurant was really good. The steakhouse wasn’t bad but has a lot of mosquitos. The cook at the Japanese restaurant is really good and entertaining. But Asian cuisine is not all about soy sauce bro.

Amazing family vacation location!!!!!

Let me begin by saying that anyone who would give 1 or 2 stars for this resort, must be out of their mind. While I understand that everyone’s experience may be different, the fact that you are in a beautiful setting, with exceptional care by the staff, should be enough to warrant a better rating. In fact, those people that would give such a poor rating, are the type that can never be satisfied, and frankly should not go to a resort, where their poor attitude may end up rubbing off on others trying to have a good time. Everyone that you encounter here will smile and say hello. People are working extremely hard including the maintenance workers, wait staff, housekeeping, front desk, security, and entertainers. They deserve your respect, and actually should all be tipped for their hard work. I understand that it is not a requirement to tip while on an all-inclusive vacation, but if you do not, then shame on you. You should keep your cheap behind at home too, along with the “can never be satisfied” complainers. There were 10 of us that traveled here from the U.S. and we met 20 family members that came from Argentina. My cousin was married on the beach, in a beautiful ceremony provided by the resort. We couldn’t have been happier with our stay. Thank you to JJ, Baby, Pantera, and all the other entertainers for your smiling faces, and all that you do.

Family vacation at Iberostar Bavaro

It was a nice trip to Iberostar Bavaro. Check in was a little crazy with so much people but still ok. We had a room at buiding 5, beside de lobby. AC was working really well. The cleaning lady was nice and everything was kept really clean. The people at the hotel comes from all over the world wich is really nice. We don't like hotels where one country rules the place. The buffet was good, our waiter Carlos was a real gem. A++ for him. The a la cartes where good, but it was tough to get reservations. The concierge basically told us it was full all week.... But i found some place with the Iberostar app... I Found out later they were selling time sharing too. Just wow... not sure that's the way to go. Pool was nice but we are not pool people. The beach was really nice but the last 2 days it was overrun by a ton of seaweed... We loved this hotel and the destination but we will choose a different place next year because of that. The hotel guys did the best they could do to remove it. But it was too much. That's nature not the hotel fault. A solid 4.5 stars for us. PS Beware of some die hard fan group online that keep saying that all is fine and they clean seaweed every morning, it's true, but sometime it's too much of it if you are a beach person. It's a nice beach for sure, but it's a risk when you consider the amount paid for a family vacation.
