Great time with my wife and my two daughters. The location is fantastic and the facility very nice. Great staff, very kind and accommodating! I hope to be back soon! Need to fix the reflective glass in front of the spa. I saw three birds fly into it and crash to their death!

Hyatt Regency was the best. The hotel manager Mark and the 'Shore' restaurant manager David were outstanding. Mark at the Hyatt was outstanding and took care of us in the best possible way. The Hyatt hotel in Honolulu is an amazing facility with an amazing staff. The hotel restaurant the 'Shore' is wonderful and the food is 5 star. David the 'Shore' manager has done a world class job putting together a menu and food quality that is second to none. The Sheraton at Waikiki is a great location and wonderful building with great beach access and pools. The Sheraton though lacks in staff service and a management staff that is not very capable of dealing with or following up on special requests or concerns. United Airlines.........please read below....wow what a disappointment and ripoff.... United Airlines hates families United Airlines hates babies United Airlines uses Federal Law to commit fraud against passengers United Airlines treats customers as criminals United Airlines refuses to ‘speak’ with customers United Airlines traumatizes small children United Airlines charged us $79.00 per ticket additional to upgrade our seats on an upcoming trip to Hawaii. This was for a total of 4 passengers consisting of 2 adults, I child, and 1 infant in which they were fully aware of. Upon arriving at the ‘United Airlines’ terminal at LAX international the United Airlines clerk informs us that we are not able to check in due to the fact that we are seated in a row with an emergency exit. Emergency exits cannot be occupied by any children or by an adult holding an infant. When we tried to explain that ‘United Airlines’ charged us additional for these seats and were aware of who was traveling the response was always….”there is nothing we can do”…. ‘United Airlines’ clerks would then move our family into seat all over the plane. If we wanted to sit together as we have made arrangements prior and paid extra for we would have to do it on our own. When ask of the clerk if they could locate some passengers that would be willing to switch seats the response was “…we cannot do that…” This though was only a valid statement for some passengers as the same clerk proceeded to page our 7 year old daughter to the counter to find out is she would switch her seat with another woman who was having similar problems. Once on the plane we find out that upwards of 5 families are all having the same problem with ‘United Airlines’. ‘United Airlines’ lies to the customer and takes their money; when called on it at the airport the clerks then use Federal laws to shut you up and ignore you in order to just continue this fraud as they wish. On the plane ‘United Airlines’ has no facilities for baby changing on an over 5 hour flight. Flight attendants tell families that the planes were not meant for such distances and were not outfitted for such a trip in the right way. ‘United Airlines’ flight attendants then proceed to instruct us to change our 8 month old son on the floor in the rear of the plane in front of an “emergency exit”. This is an “emergency exit” such as we were told children including infants could not be near. “United Airlines” on our return flight from Kauai, Hawaii Lihue Airport give families no assistance with check in at their semi-staffed touch screen check in counter. The clerks are more comfortable assisting the single passengers and or couples not the families. When clerks are asked to assist you they take your information and while you wait continue to assist various other single passengers with numerous questions. “United Airlines” clerk even refuses to listen to any information from us and again states to us that our seats are not valid since we have an infant and we are booked in an “emergency exit”. This is the same seats in which we were once again changed and additional $79 per ticket for. Since the clerk refuses to discuss the issues with us they walk away and tell us to figure it out at the gate. When arriving at the gate we find 2 additional families having the same problem as us. The clerk there tells us that there is nothing he can do and wishes to seat us all over the plan. In this moment and as seen in our first flight our daughter is traumatized again hearing that “United Airlines” is taking her away from her mother. “United Airlines” then continues to put the burden on the passengers to get on the plane and figure out there seats. “United Airlines” flight attendance then use Federal Law to shut you up and tell you to take the mixed up seats in which the clerks gave you. “United Airlines” also ensures that no service is given to families as clerks check in with flight attendants and point out the families mentioning to them that they are being problems and do not require service. “United Airlines” again on our return flight gave us seats in which were not what we paid per our upgrade and also again had us on a plane not suited for babies. No baby changing areas are supplied and the flight attendants on this flight said “…there is nothing we can do; you figure out how to change them and we will tell you if you can do it or not…” Once all is said and done and you get your family home traumatized from traveling with “United Airlines” you feel it is necessary to contact them and discuss the issues as reasonable adults. Well, “United Airlines” refuses to speak with customers. “United Airlines” staff and supervisors state to you that the company “United Airlines” has “….elected to only communicate via email with customers on their website…”….”…we do not speak with customer over the phone…” Wow, fraud, lies, traumatizing families, bringing tears to little children, putting babies in harm’s way and against the same rules they steal your money with. “United Airlines” is the company that puts share holders first and customers a dead last.

Poor location for hotel lobby

I think having the lobby on the second level is a poor location. While there is good escalator access, there is limited elevator availability and no signage to locate the elevator(only one). As a result those who prefer to take their luggage with them especially on check must navigate the escalators. My wife struggled with luggage at the bottom and subsequently fell at the bottom and luckily does not appear to have a serious injury. We only found the elevator on the last day after checking out and handing our luggage to the bellmen. Even a bellman commented on the poor location of the front desk.

Things were going well until the staff went on strike.

We were having a really good stay at the Hyatt until the housekeeping and restaurant staff went on strike. We were awoken at five am halfway through our week to picketers shouting on megaphones. The noise was constant throughout the rest of our stay becoming louder each day from five am until midnight each night. It echoed through our room even with the balcony door closed. We would have loved to have an open door in Oahu on Waikiki Beach! The food was fair, but twice my our food was incorrect. One night we got an item that wasn't even on the menu, two days later we got the wrong item.

This was my second trip and best over all. The hotel was excellent and the staff very accommodating.The only disturbance was a demonstration outside the hotel early in the mornings. We tried not to let it bother us and enjoyed the beach as much as possible.Lovely trip over all.

My husband and I generally thought our overall experience on our trip was good. There were about three times the maid service did not show up until after 3:00 PM, which we were fairly disappointed about since we were gone all morning. We had to call housekeeping a couple time to have them tidy the room. The food on the menu's did not seem appetizing enough for us to stay at the hotel to order food in the restaurnat or room service. Although, from our understanding the hotel is re-vamping the restaurants. There was construction going on at the pool, therefore we heard a little noise during our afternoons at the facility. However, overall the staff was very friendly. We were quite suprized there was a gift for us since we were celebrating. The hotel gave us a free bottle of champaign, flower lei greetings and a free picture frame. We thought this was very nice. I would recommend this hotel to family and friends in the future. Great location for the hotel.

If you’re looking for a tourist attraction stay, THIS IS IT. perfect location, beach right across the street!! Staff in Kai Coffee are full of aloha! I loved it. Checking in is seamless, hotel was very clean, and staff were exceptionally nice. Get a float in the ABC store and have it blown up and head straight to the beach...you won’t be disappointed.

Always a pleasure to stay there Very convenient location Staff is pleasant and helpful. requested an upgrade but was full so best to consider upon booking. Enjoyed market on Tuesdays and Thursdays Convenient to all in Waikiki.

I've traveled to many places over my years. The stay at the Hyatt Regency Waikiki Beach is at the top of my list! The staff, location, hotel overall was outstanding. This is where I will stay when I return.

This hotel is perfectly situated across from the beach. Great location to beach access. Busy street, which is great for walking but a little noisy. I don’t outdo request a higher room up. Although beach view is beautiful, it is also noisier since it is street view. Waikiki not not like other Hawaii vacations with quiet sand beach. Lots of good options and of course lots of shopping. Honolulu has changed since my last visit 20 years ago.

Hi , Just a few things we would like to mention about our stay with Hyatt, We chose this hotel for our stay in Waikiki for a holiday and to celebrate our 28th wedding anniversary. I had with me a surprise bottle of expensive Champagne ,to my surprise there were no glasses in the room , after a to call house keeping they informed me that they do not supply glasses and that i would have to go to the pantry myself on a different floor to find some plastic glasses ,not good enough! a two star hotel would supply champagne glasses !There was tea and coffee in the room ,but with paper cups! A two star hotel would supply real cups and saucers ! We booked the Buffet for our Anniversary Dinner for 8.30pm upon arrival we were told that there was a 30 minute wait ,after making a bit of a fuss we were seated firstly at table in the walk way ,i told staff that this was not good enough for our anniversary dinner, they then found us another table , we sat there for about 10 minutes without any service ,during that time we noticed that all the tables around us were still covered in dirty plates ,the buffet was over crowded and understaffed ! We left and found a very nice Restaurant at another Hotel down the road that was clean and very accommodating so good that we went there three nights in a row ! Come time to check out I had to question the $37 per day Resort fee, i was given a card which listed "complementary": items such as pool towels, pool chairs, water bottles ect many more "complimentary items that we didn't use, after complaining about having to pay for complementary items that we may have used 2 towels and water bottle , i was refunded half of the fees100% would have been much better , I would suggest to any Australians to refuse to pay this Fee as a 2 star hotel would supply a towel , all in all we found the Hotel very impersonal relying on high turnover ,next time i think we could find better value for money.
