We came to Xcaret for the second half of our Mexico Vacation, spending the first half of our trip on the west coast in Puerto Vallarta. We drove ourselves to the resort in a rental car, which was extremely confusing as there a variety of parks and areas with the Xcaret name and brand. I would recommend using their shuttle from the airport. We arrived a few hours earlier than check in allowed. They do no offer early check in but will hold your luggage and let you use the facility and dining areas. Myself and my partner stayed at the adult only part of the resort, Fuego. We were very happy we did this. It was worth the extra cost for the seclusion from larger parties and families when we wanted a more quite low key setting. The entire resort offers a variety of areas to soak up the sun and enjoy the pools and lagoons. The lagoons were a big part of why we choose this resort. It seemed like such a neat way to approach landscaping, water activities, all paired with the ocean backdrop. The lagoon itself was very unappealing during our stay. There was a ton of debris floating around daily, we didn’t step foot in it once. The food was great as well. Our favorite was the Fuego Adults only restaurant. They had the best food options and quality for every meal. We ate there so much that on our final night they brought me or a special gluten free dessert and a personalized card thanking us for our stay signed by the entire staff. The manager here was amazing and extremely accommodating. They buffet was super unique as well, everything was Mexican based which was an awesome change compared to you standard buffet options. We came for dessert every night. Our private butler that comes with the Fuego room was fantastic, Eric and Nidia. We changed our plans almost daily due to weather and illness. They helped us to reschedule everything, even late at night. Overall, Xcaret is a fantastic new alternative to the traditional all inclusive. Food that you want to eat, drinks you can taste the alcohol in, and a property that you won’t get board at. And to top it all off, access to all of their parks and attractions. We decided it was a good experience, but would not come back alone. Next time we want to bring our nieces and nephews as the overall package seems to be more geared to families. Xcaret provided us with some of the best hospitality treatment and staff we’ve had the pleasure of interacting with on our travels.

Absolute Mexican Beauty

As a travel agent, I have been selling this resort since it opened and have been selling the Xcaret products for years and have visited the parks in the past. I can absolutely say that this resort is like no other I have ever been to. I was in awe from the moment I arrived. There were of course small improvements which I will mention below but overall, our trip was great from the beginning to the end. In terms of beauty, there is no other All Inclusive resort that compares. Pictures and words truly can not describe how beautiful this resort is. I have to preface by saying that I was adamant that my kids have a true experience with the Mexican culture. I did not want to take them to an American resort in Mexico, I wanted to take them to a true Mexican resort so they could experience the music, the food, and the beautiful nature. This resort did just that. My kids commented on how cool it was to feel like they were in another country vs just being at an all inclusive. In addition, with two active that are preteen and early teen this resort was perfect for keeping us active. We loved all the fun surprises all over the resort. Resort Experience: We had a very easy check-in process that was started on the bus. Once we arrived, we were greeted with our homemade ice pops and completed the process of checking in within a half hour. Our guide then took us to our room and showed us around the room. We booked a Riverview Suite and absolutely loved the room we got. We were in 4525 and it was great. The size of the room was great and we loved having the two patios. The bathroom took some getting use to with having kids but we adjusted. Our biggest issue with the room was the lack of storage space. There are only 4 drawers in the room and we definitely did not have enough room. We had to keep some items in our suitcases and it was hard fitting 4 full size suitcases in the rooms. We tried to pack as light as possible knowing this was an issue but it was even less space than we anticipated. We loved the room service, our little turndown amenities, the housekeeping staff, and the mini bar restockers. They all did a great job. We loved the pools at the resort. Even with the main pool getting a little crowded, it was never an issue because there were so many other pools to choose from. We enjoyed exploring the river and enjoyed the beach also. If you are a beach person, this resort is probably not the best for you because it does not have a huge beach with chairs and umbrellas but my kids really enjoyed it. It was definitely a bit more rough than other resorts we have been too but my kids liked it. We joked it was like the “Jersey Shore” with nice clean water. The kids were able to ride the waves, etc… Our main complaint with the water options is that there was no hot tub. After days spent at parks, I would have loved a hot tub to sit in in the evening. We also think more signs and better marked maps would be helpful. We did not always mind exploring but sometimes we just wanted to get somewhere and would get lost. We were not given a map when we checked in so we spent the first day and half pretty must lost at all times. We finally went to the lobby and asked for the map. It wasn’t until then that we were given our Welcome Pack. Our other main complaint was the closing of restaurants for the convention groups. We completely get that they need to accommodate these groups but we never got to eat at the steak restaurant because it was closed almost the entire time we were there for a Comcast convention. At times, we did feel like the resort was a little overwhelmed with the Convention groups but overall they did a decent job of keeping them separate. Dining: We had a great experience with the dining options. We enjoyed all of our meals and liked the variety of the buffets. We ate at Las Cuevas, El Mercado, Chibali for breakfast, Las Playas for lunch and dinner, and Teatro Del Rio. We had great service at all of the restaurants and food. We were pleasantly surprised by dinner at Las Playas. It was one of our favorite meals and my daughter loved their caesar salad at lunch. We also really enjoyed Room Service. Our biggest complaint is that the dinner options don’t start until 6. This was really only an issue for the night we wanted to go to the show at Xcaret and Xplor Fuego. A buffet is included at Xplor Fuego but we would have loved a dinner option before we went other than the buffet. Parks: This is such an amazing feature of this resort. We went to every park and also did Tulum and Xenotes. Our only issue is that we were exhausted by the end of the trip. We compared it to Disney in Mexico. We kept saying we were going to take it easy but then we would end up doing something instead. We loved everything we did but it made for little downtime. My advice is that you make sure you give yourself enough time to enjoy the resort also. The resort is amazing in and of itself and has so much to do. I felt like we did not make a dent in the activities. We each had different things we liked at each park. Don’t skip Xenses. We were on the fence and decided to go on a whim and it was one of our favorite activities. It was also very nice that the lockers, towels, and food were included for resort guests. We loved the pictures also. If you are looking for a resort that truly lets you experience Mexico this is the perfect option. This was a trip to always remember. We hope to go back and I am sure I will be sending even more clients to the resort now too.

My husband, our son and I went last November to Mexico and Stayed at Hotel Xcaret Mexico with some friends. The experience was fantastic. This resort has everything and more. It is a beautiful property with a lot of enjoyable swimming pools and activities to do with children or without them. I loved to wake up early to meditate in the balcony of the spa with the beach view. The Gym is well equipated and perfect to start or end the day. The food and its options are wonderful, I found vegan and gluten free options, as well as all kinds of food. The service stands out, people are friendly and helpful. Since that experience we decided to be part of the Mexico Destination Club and now I am planning my 40th birthday there with another 7 families. The service while planning our next vacations has been impecable. The agent JOSE CARLOS GARCIA SALINAS has been available 24/7 to help us in all the logĂstics to prepare every possible detail to make my dreamed birthday a reality. I can wait for the month of May....
