My sister and I go to the Ixtapa every year and stay at the Posada Real. We love this hotel because it is small and very quiet. Our vacation time is to relax.

Small resort, needs updating, room had a smell of mold that played havoc on our sinuses and lungs. Very small room, rust in the bathroom with a broken handle on the bathroom door. The food is always the same and not very good. But on the bright side, the pool was awesome and the hotel is right on the beach. Would not stay here again

My husband and I took advantage of a great Sun Wing "final fling" over the Easter break this year. The resort is small by comparison to many of the other hotels on the beach and the staff are excellent as they get to actually "know" you during your stay. They are extremely helpful at the front desk and several speak excellent English, (which was invaluable in solving a sunset cruise pick-up debacle). The room we had on the third floor had a massive over king sized bed and was kept clean throughout our stay with the added touch of towels made into lovely shapes and adorned with flowers. The food was typically Mexican and we loved it! There is also an "a la carte" menu and we had amazing shrimp and steak for about nine american dollars! The drink menu is extensive and the service was usually very good. The swim up bar staff were not quite as quick as the restaurant bar, but the wait was never very long. The only downside to this lovely resort was the fact that we forgot what a huge holiday Easter is in Mexico and about 4 days into the trip we were suddenly inundated with kids in the infinity pool with inflatables and assorted toys to maneuver through on the way to the swim up bar. There is a separate pool and playground area but unfortunately, many families did not spend their family time there. The noise level in the hallways in the mornings became a bit ridiculous as well as children were left to race around unattended shrieking at the top of their lungs. A quick and loud "silence" seemed do the trick and I did this several times to catch a few more hours rest. None of this is the fault of the resort, the employees we spoke were no more impressed with the lack of parental supervision than we were. We will return here for sure, just not during a major local holiday!

So disappointed and so dirty!

We have been traveling to Ixtapa/Zihuatenejo for many years, with multiple stays at Posada. It has been our go-to place as we love the beach and the infinity pool - with a good price. We travel with another couple and their room was as dirty as ours: mold in the bathrooms, bedding that looks like it hasn't been updated/changed in years. The infinity pool outer edges had black mold. The lower pool: no attempt to pick up plates, drinks, uneaten food so birds were flocking and sitting everywhere. Sad to say this was our last stay at the Posada - or in Ixtapa. Many places in Zihuat that are far superior for the same money

Inexpensive, good time!

We stayed for a week and enjoyed the beach. We walked to restaurants every night, of which there are many. The beach, as always was very nice. The weather was great which is why we chose Ixtapa. Price was great.

stayed at the posada real ixtapa at the beginning of feb.for 14 nights..we were all inclusive including all meals and drinks and found that the majority of guests were booked as semi all inclusive which gave them breakfast and drinks.would have to consider the semi option on our next visit however the nearest area for meals is approx.10 minute walk away ..overall a great little resort and will book again..
