Email | Share |

Perched high above the sweeping Pacific coastline is the deluxe Parador Resort & Spa, considered by many to be Costa Rica's most romantic destination. Boasting jaw-dropping panoramic views, sprawling grounds, and exotic wildlife, Parador Resort & Spa is dedicated to the protection and preservation of nature's wonders. In fact, the resort has earned a CST rating of 5 (Certified for Sustainable Tourism), the highest award on the scale.

Located in Manuel Antonio, Parador Resort & Spa offers first-class accommodations and a long list of exciting activities. Take a romantic walk along a white-sand beach. Swing through the rainforest canopy under hazy streamers of light. Experience piano music and fine dining at La Galeria, or slip away to La Reina Private Dining Room, an enclave of romance and Medieval style. The resort boasts four restaurants, four bars (including a swim-up bar), a world-class spa, three ocean-view pools (two are adults-only), tennis, and a fitness center. All suites offer spectacular ocean views from the terraces.

Scenic trails point the way to resident reptiles, rainbow-hued birds, and three species of monkeys. Evoking the Old-World charm of a traditional Spanish settlement, the resort pairs a breathtaking natural setting with European elegance.

Best Hotel + Surf Lesson

We are from Germany. In this hotel we had our best customer experience from our whole trip through Costa Rica. Great place to be and best Customer service to book a trip inkl. transportation. We can really recommend the surfing lesson. 3h for 70$. We were beginners and it was an amazing experience at the beach. Thanks to our contact person Evelyn Lopez, everything was easy for us. We send her a mail, got a list of tours, said that we want to surf and paid it online. All the rest was done by the hotel. great experience! PS: Surfing Season is from April to November

Saw monkeys, sloths and all kinds of wildlife on the property. Staff was extremely friendly and courteous. Property was immaculate, well-maintained and suitable for all ages. Breakfast was great, restaurant options in El Parador were limited though.

This hotel is owned by the Spanish Government and some of the things about it are run like a civil service department - this sets a tone which can occasionally jar, or annoy. Seated staff on reception - like entering the town hall and the slightly superior attitude which goes with it. Not getting the bill; right; not apologising - just saying I'll correct it. No customer satisfaction drive, the inability to alter the content of one of the dishes for dinner - I wanted the fish with fries, they brought me the fries but insisted that I also had the beetroot flavoured rice. Having had a toilet situation with the black spaghetti the previous evening I wanted what I wanted not what the chef though was good. The whole menu was like something off 'Master Chef' - the losing team. Get a grip and give the guests what they want, not what you think is best. Having said that, the hotel is awesome - I'll go back; but I'll get the phone numbers of the local takeaways. The decorations are fabulous old style Spanish - I kept staring at all the furniture and fitting. The non-supervisor level staff are great - helpful, courteous and hard working. The path to the beach is like a short-cut somebody has made across a piece of rough ground - please get this sorted - 10 Tonne of hard core, or scalping would fix it in an afternoon - get the supervisors to do it, they need the exercise. There's monkeys and sloths galore - lots of photo opportunities.

The hotel was full of character. It was beautifully decorated, and had excellent facilities. The room was comfortable and had an attractive balcony. There is a good bar with cocktails. You can eat there, but you can also eat in the grand restaurant where you will do well. The swiming pool has statues, one being of a crocodile and one of a lovely young woman. There is a private beach.

We loved our vista suite, but it was a big splurge. The infinity pool and Fragata restaurant are great. Good breakfast in the main restaurant. The place is very well maintained and all the staff are very helpful and friendly. Easy to hop in to Manuel Antonio for meals and to the park for a visit. The resident monkeys are an added bonus!
