Spend a couple of days at this beatiful resort and everything was fantastic, since we arrive they make us feel like home. Special mention to Jonathan the bellboy, also Niko at the front desk he gave us a huge help with all the questions we had. Hope to be back next year...

Very nice hotel in tourist hub

We spent 2 nights in this hotel having just left an area with limited electricity so this felt a bit like luxury. The pros are the exceptional view from the balcony and the fun pool area. There’s so much space and an ‘in pool’ bar which I always enjoy an inordinate amount (despite the husband’s eye rolling). Our room was at the top of a funicular which was fun. The staff were really great. Couldn’t do enough, so helpful all the way through our stay. Slight downsides: the hotel is a fair way from the main drag. They do run a shuttle but the last one leaves at 5.15 so it doesn’t really work if you want to go out for dinner. It’s quite narrow, busy roads so we didn’t want to walk. Hence a cab is really your only option. Also the food in the bar was fine but nothing to write home about. Overall if you are visiting Manuel Antonio, I think this is one of the nicest places with good reason.

Absolutely stunning views and incredible staff!

Our Wedding was absolutely amazing! Best choice we could have ever made with having a destination wedding! Harold Rojas went above and beyond anything I could’ve asked for. He truly is a god send when it comes to being a wedding coordinator/planner! Anything I wanted or needed he made sure it would be handled within minutes. He communicated with me every step of the way when I was in the states. He got back to me so quick I never felt worried and if I did he would call me and ease any worries I had. The day we finally got to meet I felt like we had been friends for years! He has such a kind heart, an amazing personality, and I’m sure that we’ve made a life time friendship! He wanted our wedding to be as perfect as we had invisioned it. The other staff at the hotel were also very accommodating and so nice and professional. All the wildlife we saw every morning and evening was fantastic. We didn’t even have to leave the resort if we didn’t wanted to because we saw sloths, howler monkeys, white faced monkeys, toccans, iguanas and tons of other birds! We truly felt like royalty! We spent our honeymoon traveling Costa Rica and nothing came close to our stay at the Parador Hotel! I can’t say enough great things about this place. We will definitely be back someday soon! Not a five star hotel

We stayed at Parador for 3 nights. The reception staff, bell boys and housekeeping were all very friendly. Unfortunately the restaurant and bar staff were not! Everything felt like it was a difficult request and lots of small things added up. We had booked a Premium room but I think they were under maintenance so we were upgraded to a room in the new block. It smelt musty so we had to air it. Breakfast was average with the fruit the least tasty throughout Costa Rica. Lunch and dinner (a la carte) were much better. If I go back to Manuel Antonio I will look for a smaller more personal hotel.

Great resort but didn’t have the 5 star edge

The resort is lovely and we spent a great day by the adult only pool which has views out to the ocean. We saw a number of monkeys in the trees by the pool area and birds too. In the evening we did the nighttime walk which was brilliant. The guide was knowledgable and we were able to see a number of frogs and toads, as well as the sloth which makes its home in one of the hotel trees. The evening meal was delicious and we enjoyed each mouthful. Breakfast was also good. The room was ok, perhaps a little dated with a slight musty smell but it was clean and comfortable. I’m not sure I’d call it 5 star. Two small things let the hotel down, we arrived before our room was ready and we were told we would be found when it was; despite us telling them we’d be by the pool this didn’t happen. Secondly we called for milk to go with coffee in our room and it took about 30 minutes to arrive. While these are very small things, for a 5 star hotel you expect everything to be perfect and they are things which could be easily fixed. All in all the hotel is lovely and the staff were great. We also stayed at the Plaza Yara (we couldn’t get 4 nights in either so needed to split it over two hotels) and whilst I’m pleased we stayed here for one night - because of the the nighttime walk and food - I preferred the smaller feel of the Plaza Yara. I should say that we were really helped out by Jordon on reception when our transfer didn’t arrive when we were leaving. He contacted our agent and made sure that everything was sorted for us which we really appreciated.
