My meeting time with Ruebin was to be at 4:30pm. I showed up at 4:45pm and he was not there. I left a message on his cell phone to leave message at front desk but he did not. I ended up paying $15.00 for a return drive to airport.

Never ever stay at Hotel Cozumel resort

Never ever stay at Hotel Cozumel resort, The food was horrible, the service was terrible and after getting our money stolen out of our safe and having to spend a full day running from one police station to the next to file a report was unbelievable. Raul B The desk manager assured us the maid was fired and that the police would get the money from her because they have ways of getting the truth out of people. He acted as if he was helping us and in fact was in on it we caught him in so many lies and how he treated us was horrible . After we filed a police report and brought the police back to the hotel they did not like that and treated us terrible for the next 24 hours and tell we could pay to move to a new hotel . I was so afraid of something more happening to us .

I will start by saying the majority of the hotel staff were excellent, very friendly and helpful. This staff includes the restaurant, bar and cleaning. I am extremely unhappy that an Apple representative was only at the hotel 1 hour each morning when we were always diving so I had to book our excursions through the hotel and therefore was very misled and taken advantage of money wise. I was tole a price and then had to pay additional costs. When I tried calling Apple to ask questions about the excursions they couldnt answer them and said to talk to the representative at the hotel, which there wasnt anyone. Food at the hotel was just ok we ended up eating in town a few nights due to this.

Vacation March 2016

I booked vacation through Apple to Hotel Cozumel and Resort all inclusive. However, booked back in November and was sent itinerary in December. When we got to airport in Chicago were told we were too late and our flight time to leave had been changed to 2 hours EARLIER?! In over 30 years of flying anywhere had I NEVER once had a flight change that was earlier than scheduled. Needless to say we (myself and my 3 children) missed our departing flight to Cozumel. My original flight was also direct, the next available flight to Cozumel was the next morning and had a layover in Miami. I was NOT happy. When we left the next morning we arrived as scheduled and hotel was aware of our missed flight and 1st night. Spoke with Apple representative who was able to get an additional night at the same hotel, but I had to pay $250 extra for the extra night. American Airlines was decent enough to fly us out and back a day later at no extra cost. The kids loved the pool, the snorkeling area across the street from the hotel was not as beautiful as it appeared in photos. The sandy, 'man made beach?' was not that great either. Food was mediocre. Mexican holiday was going on as well and a lot of families were there with multiple kids, cutting in line and just all over rude. My youngest son would often get overlooked or ignored while waiting in line for a burger or something to eat. French fries were always put out in batches and disappeared within 5 minutes by vulture like families who acted like they had not eaten in a week. Room was nothing special, had to walk all the way around the hotel to get to ours all the way in the back. Had 2 double beds and had 2 pillows for 4 people. Had to ask for extra pillows and towels multiple time. The entertainment staff was great, always including the kids in activities whenever possible. Would I come back here for vacation, probably not.

Unfortunately this hotel was the biggest dump. By far the worst hotel we've ever stayed at. The food was absolutely terrible as well. We dreaded eating every day and ended up losing weight on our trip! The overall trip was very inexpensive which was probably why it was the grossest hotel imaginable. Not only was the food terrible, they NEVER change the menu, and we found hairs almost daily. Will NEVER skimp out on another vacation after this experience nor would we ever go back or recommend this place. In addition on our last day when our luggage was supposed to be in a locked and secured area, it was not. We found out by walking past the "secure" room finding the door wide open with no one in sight! We stood their over 5 minutes and no one came. We had to go to the front desk to complain.

It was great getting away, a much needed vacation for us, but I would not even give the facility a poor rating. Much lower. :(

First Ever Scuba Vacation
ColonelDancer, Victoria, Texas

This was probably the most fun i have ever had on a vacation. I wish i could describe the people here with more words than just “fantastic, pleasing, accomodating, super friendly, joyful, willing to help...just dang “happy”. So different than the States, where most people that are in the service industry have their noses so far in the air they would drown in a good rain shower. I loved the people and the hotel soooo much i cant wait to come back. They made me feel welcome whether it was a maid, cook, bartender or manager and they were all “happy”. I have never been waited on as well as at the Hotel Cozumel and Resort. We booked an all inclusive to Dive with Dive Paradise which was just across from the hotel on the water. And the water....the most georgeous water i have ever seen. The beaches and water of Texas are murky brown. Cozumel was Heaven on earth! And the people were Angels. Even walking down to the town to get food or supplies or shopping people were friendly and accommodating. And even the laborers on the street you would greet them and they were happy to talk to you. Of course being in the shopping areas (where the tourists from the cruise ships would flock in at a rate of 3000 people plus from 9am till 4pm) were kind of normal of the “hawkers selling you and being a little pushy”. But it was ok, they need to make a living. And as long as you were respectful and said “no gracias” they seemed to be ok. Of course we tipped alot (because the workers depend on tips when their 8 hour day wage is about $3.50 (U S currency) “a day” not an hour) because the people were worth it. I digress. Back to the resort. The hotel was very nice and spacious. Rooms were large with a nice bathroom and plenty of hot water and cold ac. The outer porch balcony was spacious. Rooms were very clean and we had daily bottled water, fresh soap and shampoo. The balcony had drying racks built in for “scuba gear to dry”. It catered to divers. The gift shop in the hotel had the best deals on Scuba/Cozumel tee shirts and toiletries, etc. There was an inside “sports type bar that would fit about 50 people and it was great! Good drinks! The outside had a large pool and cabana area and outside bar that would stay open till 1040pm. But while we would “socialize” until 1am the inside bar would “last call” about 1230am! The hotel resturant had great buffet breakfast lunch and dinner. Breakfast was great, fresh with eggs, omelettes, breads, cereals, beens, potato dishes, croissants, etc. Lunch and Dinners were hearty and they had a great “pasta area”. The wait staff was super! They knew your name on day one. They knew your coffee, tea preference as soon as you walked in. The outside pool bar had a small buffet from around 11am till about 4pm. All the divers would slosh in wet and hungry and they had a fresh salad bar, popcorn, french fries, nacho chips, pizza squares, and usually a couple of dishes like chicken/fish nuggets, steamed broccoli or cauliflower. And the best fresh pico de gallo i had ever tasted. I ate toooo much of that stuff! And they had a “salsa verde” (green hot salsa) that had a wonderful “kick” to it. There was a “entertainment group” of what we called the “ninos”. They would do entertainment at nite at 8pm. You have to see the “stage dance show” one nite there. And the other nites at 8pm they had either “Games, Bingo, Name that Tune” in the Sports Bar. Those “kids” were the most happiest and fun people ever. Johnathan, Catalina, Desiree Lupita, even taught me some dance steps. Privately. I saw them performing for the stage show that nite and asked them what one of the steps were. I told them i was a ballroom dancer and they were doing something that looked like a “lasso”. They showed me. It was cool. Down in the lobby they had desks set up where you could sign up for things...Jeep/Scooter rental, Swim with Dolphins, Submarine Tour, etc. If you wanted a cab (and they were everywhere) the guys at the front steps would get you one. We had one cab take us to “the other side” of the island and he said “i will come back in 2 hours”. (Because that side has no electricity (things close at dark there)the businesses run on generators). You have to go check out “The Coconut Bar”. The only pans of the hotel we noticed was the wifi is not the best and is slow. And the electrical sockets in the room are worn and your plug ins would almost fall out if you didnt have them “angled just right”. But that was all i could pick on. The rest is just tooo fabulous! Of course their was one person in our group who didnt have much good to say but then she wasnt a social person and i believe she was born with a silver spoon in her mouth. She complained about everything on the dive, the ocean, the hotel, the food, the room. But then there are those that are just chronic complainers. But i can tell you this. If you want to visit Cozumel stay at this resort. If you want to dive go across the street to Dive Paradise (they even have a tunnel that goes under the street to connect you to the Dive place and beach). You will be soooo glad you did. You will not be the least disappointed i promise you! Thanks to all the staff at Hotel Cozumel and thanks also to the wonderful people at Dive Paradise. This is where im gonna go every year...and if not to dive...just to be pampered by great people!

I stayed for 15 days in this hotel and I am very satisfied, the service is very good and attentive, the structure and services of the hotel are also very good, the food is very tasty, and the prices are excellent. The location of the hotel is wonderful, you can walk to the center in just 20 minutes, the hotel's dive operator is very competent and professional, we did great dives! .
