Having stayed here numerous times, I think the management would be aware that the rooms need updating. Same bedding, furnishings, etc. since day 1.

My meeting time with Ruebin was to be at 4:30pm. I showed up at 4:45pm and he was not there. I left a message on his cell phone to leave message at front desk but he did not. I ended up paying $15.00 for a return drive to airport.

Never ever stay at Hotel Cozumel resort

Never ever stay at Hotel Cozumel resort, The food was horrible, the service was terrible and after getting our money stolen out of our safe and having to spend a full day running from one police station to the next to file a report was unbelievable. Raul B The desk manager assured us the maid was fired and that the police would get the money from her because they have ways of getting the truth out of people. He acted as if he was helping us and in fact was in on it we caught him in so many lies and how he treated us was horrible . After we filed a police report and brought the police back to the hotel they did not like that and treated us terrible for the next 24 hours and tell we could pay to move to a new hotel . I was so afraid of something more happening to us .

I will start by saying the majority of the hotel staff were excellent, very friendly and helpful. This staff includes the restaurant, bar and cleaning. I am extremely unhappy that an Apple representative was only at the hotel 1 hour each morning when we were always diving so I had to book our excursions through the hotel and therefore was very misled and taken advantage of money wise. I was tole a price and then had to pay additional costs. When I tried calling Apple to ask questions about the excursions they couldnt answer them and said to talk to the representative at the hotel, which there wasnt anyone. Food at the hotel was just ok we ended up eating in town a few nights due to this.

Vacation March 2016

I booked vacation through Apple to Hotel Cozumel and Resort all inclusive. However, booked back in November and was sent itinerary in December. When we got to airport in Chicago were told we were too late and our flight time to leave had been changed to 2 hours EARLIER?! In over 30 years of flying anywhere had I NEVER once had a flight change that was earlier than scheduled. Needless to say we (myself and my 3 children) missed our departing flight to Cozumel. My original flight was also direct, the next available flight to Cozumel was the next morning and had a layover in Miami. I was NOT happy. When we left the next morning we arrived as scheduled and hotel was aware of our missed flight and 1st night. Spoke with Apple representative who was able to get an additional night at the same hotel, but I had to pay $250 extra for the extra night. American Airlines was decent enough to fly us out and back a day later at no extra cost. The kids loved the pool, the snorkeling area across the street from the hotel was not as beautiful as it appeared in photos. The sandy, 'man made beach?' was not that great either. Food was mediocre. Mexican holiday was going on as well and a lot of families were there with multiple kids, cutting in line and just all over rude. My youngest son would often get overlooked or ignored while waiting in line for a burger or something to eat. French fries were always put out in batches and disappeared within 5 minutes by vulture like families who acted like they had not eaten in a week. Room was nothing special, had to walk all the way around the hotel to get to ours all the way in the back. Had 2 double beds and had 2 pillows for 4 people. Had to ask for extra pillows and towels multiple time. The entertainment staff was great, always including the kids in activities whenever possible. Would I come back here for vacation, probably not.

Unfortunately this hotel was the biggest dump. By far the worst hotel we've ever stayed at. The food was absolutely terrible as well. We dreaded eating every day and ended up losing weight on our trip! The overall trip was very inexpensive which was probably why it was the grossest hotel imaginable. Not only was the food terrible, they NEVER change the menu, and we found hairs almost daily. Will NEVER skimp out on another vacation after this experience nor would we ever go back or recommend this place. In addition on our last day when our luggage was supposed to be in a locked and secured area, it was not. We found out by walking past the "secure" room finding the door wide open with no one in sight! We stood their over 5 minutes and no one came. We had to go to the front desk to complain.

It was great getting away, a much needed vacation for us, but I would not even give the facility a poor rating. Much lower. :(

We've been on Cozumel many times. This was our first stay at Hotel Cozumel and Resort. We enjoyed our stay and found this hotel to be well run. It is clean and efficient. Public areas are tidy and the pool impressive. Food is not bad. Not a lot of variety, but well made. Suggest the beach restaurant for lunch. Nice waitstaff. The cerviche was a welcome surprise. Very spicy and fresh. Valentin provided great service at both lunch and dinner. Our room was small and overlooked the pool. Housekeeping kept the room clean and tidy. Balcony had places to hang wet items and the room had a large closet with more than enough hangers. Also appreciated the drawers to store folded items. The rooms could use freshening and updating. The lockers at the dive shop were a great plus. We would definitely consider a return visit.

The bed was comfortable, and overall, that was what mattered most. After long days of diving, I needed to be comfortable. That said, the showerhead was set at 5 feet high, which made showering difficult. There was always food, and always drinks, but whether the food was good or not was another thing. That said, the breakfast omelet bar was always a win, as was the evening pasta bar. The diet coke was almost always stale, but the poolside bar made a killer pina colada.

Nice hotel and resort

We just got back from spending 8 nights at Hotel Cozumel and Resort. Overall we were pleased with our experience and would consider staying there again. The Resort is a quick ride from the Airport. Check in and check out was quick and easy. The public areas are clean and well maintained. Rooms are on the small size, but there was plenty of storage in the closet and drawers. It was more than adequate for two people for 8 nights.Housekeeping kept the room tidy and clean. Food was okay. Not a lot of variety, but we didn't go hungry. We enjoyed lunch across the street at the beach restaurant. The cerviche was outstanding and one day they served battered fish which was very good. Breakfast and dinner were good too. Lots of fruit at breakfast and made-to-order eggs. The waitstaff was attentive. We enjoyed the good service (lunch and dinner) from Valentin. WiFi worked well for us - a bit slow at times but we weren't in any big hurry. I think Hotel Cozumel offers a good experience at a very reasonable price.
