Hotel Cozumel

Hotel is great for Scuba Divers as they have lockers for the dive gear and Dive Paradise is on site, my wife is not a diver and had issues with the WIFI not working most of the time and the food not being up to the level of other all-inclusive hotels we have stayed at on Cozumel. The hotel is close to town which was nice as we walked there nightly.

Updates are needed...

Having stayed here numerous times, I think the management would be aware that the rooms need updating. Same bedding, furnishings, etc. since day 1.

My meeting time with Ruebin was to be at 4:30pm. I showed up at 4:45pm and he was not there. I left a message on his cell phone to leave message at front desk but he did not. I ended up paying $15.00 for a return drive to airport.

Never ever stay at Hotel Cozumel resort
Aug 19 2016
Never ever stay at Hotel Cozumel resort, The food was horrible, the service was terrible and after getting our money stolen out of our safe and having to spend a full day running from one police station to the next to file a report was unbelievable. Raul B The desk manager assured us the maid was fired and that the police would get the money from her because they have ways of getting the truth out of people. He acted as if he was helping us and in fact was in on it we caught him in so many lies and how he treated us was horrible . After we filed a police report and brought the police back to the hotel they did not like that and treated us terrible for the next 24 hours and tell we could pay to move to a new hotel . I was so afraid of something more happening to us .

I will start by saying the majority of the hotel staff were excellent, very friendly and helpful. This staff includes the restaurant, bar and cleaning. I am extremely unhappy that an Apple representative was only at the hotel 1 hour each morning when we were always diving so I had to book our excursions through the hotel and therefore was very misled and taken advantage of money wise. I was tole a price and then had to pay additional costs. When I tried calling Apple to ask questions about the excursions they couldnt answer them and said to talk to the representative at the hotel, which there wasnt anyone. Food at the hotel was just ok we ended up eating in town a few nights due to this.

Vacation March 2016
Jul 06 2016
I booked vacation through Apple to Hotel Cozumel and Resort all inclusive. However, booked back in November and was sent itinerary in December. When we got to airport in Chicago were told we were too late and our flight time to leave had been changed to 2 hours EARLIER?! In over 30 years of flying anywhere had I NEVER once had a flight change that was earlier than scheduled. Needless to say we (myself and my 3 children) missed our departing flight to Cozumel. My original flight was also direct, the next available flight to Cozumel was the next morning and had a layover in Miami. I was NOT happy. When we left the next morning we arrived as scheduled and hotel was aware of our missed flight and 1st night. Spoke with Apple representative who was able to get an additional night at the same hotel, but I had to pay $250 extra for the extra night. American Airlines was decent enough to fly us out and back a day later at no extra cost. The kids loved the pool, the snorkeling area across the street from the hotel was not as beautiful as it appeared in photos. The sandy, 'man made beach?' was not that great either. Food was mediocre. Mexican holiday was going on as well and a lot of families were there with multiple kids, cutting in line and just all over rude. My youngest son would often get overlooked or ignored while waiting in line for a burger or something to eat. French fries were always put out in batches and disappeared within 5 minutes by vulture like families who acted like they had not eaten in a week. Room was nothing special, had to walk all the way around the hotel to get to ours all the way in the back. Had 2 double beds and had 2 pillows for 4 people. Had to ask for extra pillows and towels multiple time. The entertainment staff was great, always including the kids in activities whenever possible. Would I come back here for vacation, probably not.

Unfortunately this hotel was the biggest dump. By far the worst hotel we've ever stayed at. The food was absolutely terrible as well. We dreaded eating every day and ended up losing weight on our trip! The overall trip was very inexpensive which was probably why it was the grossest hotel imaginable. Not only was the food terrible, they NEVER change the menu, and we found hairs almost daily. Will NEVER skimp out on another vacation after this experience nor would we ever go back or recommend this place. In addition on our last day when our luggage was supposed to be in a locked and secured area, it was not. We found out by walking past the "secure" room finding the door wide open with no one in sight! We stood their over 5 minutes and no one came. We had to go to the front desk to complain.

It was great getting away, a much needed vacation for us, but I would not even give the facility a poor rating. Much lower. :(

Mediocre property

We stayed a week here and the best thing about this property is the staff. The hotel needs updating but is clean. The hotel is not on the beach as the pictures look like. There is a tunnel under the street to the beach and one of the restaurants. I wouldn’t recommend all inclusive as the food is not great. The snack bar serves fried food, soggy pizza and chips and French fries with cheese sauce every day. The breakfast buffet is the only time I would recommend eating there—great made to order omelet station. Snorkeling is good if the water is calm, but better off going to sky reef down the road.

My husband and I stayed here for 5 nights and really enjoyed ourselves. It is conveniently located between the two shopping areas with all the cruise ship crowds. A thirty minute walk in either direction will get you to any type of restaurant or shopping you might like. The food was good. It would recommend trying some of the Mexican dishes offered. I find it strange that people come to Mexico and expect an American buffet. Be adventurous and try the Mexican food. It is delicious. Berta cooked wonderful breakfast food and the pasta was great. They have a large assortment of desserts cut in small pieces so try a few eachevening. At the snack bar by the pool we had chicken tacos and guacamole and but were terrific. Each evening the offer a main dish that was good. I particularly liked the chicken and fish the best. The waiters were attentive and helpful. The pool is fun and drinks are refreshing. The service was good from Martin and Roberto. They had activities to keep you entertained. Jessica taught us some dancing moves, I played volleyball, ping-pong, a tip the cup game and others. We took a bike ride up north from the resort and saw a lot more of the island. The bike are free to use from 9:00 am until 5:00 pm. They also have kayaks to use at the beach and snorkeling equipment to use for free. I enjoyed the evening show, Name that Tune. The others not so much but many people were at Karaoke night but I did not attend. The snorkeling was good right from the beach area. There was a lot of interesting things to see. It is not a sand beach but it is beautiful turquoise water to swim. There are plenty of chairs, hammocks and loungers to watch the boats go by. They have a grocery store just a few blocks north of the resort where you can purchase anything you forgot. The cash register will show your charge in dollars and pesos. It felt safe in Cozumel at the resort. The only place I did not like was the high pressure sales people at the tourist shops in town. I would probably purchased a few items if the people did not pressure you to buy from their store. I just left the shopping area to avoid this behavior. I rented a scooter for $25 for 24 hours and drove all around the island. It was fun but a little scary through the areas with a lot of traffic. Overall we had a great time and would recommend the hotel to others!

Sexual Harassment and Nightmare Vacations

The buildings are old and the food mediocre. The location is close to the Down Town Cozumel, however it has no beach. Despite this, my wife and I decided to stay because we are saving money. On Saturday, February 9, 2019, at night, -a security person- asked to my wife to move her vehicle and while he was talking to her, he fonded my wifes buttock and waist -presumably. I talked to Miguel Fernandez (Administrator), requesting an apology and a scolding to -the security person-. He aswered me that the security person put his hand in my wifes ass per error, and refused my request. Given my insistence, Mr. Fernandez recommended me to call the police (with his smile). When the police arrived, they made a report about all what happend with names, etc... I was afraid that the employees of the Hotel would take some actions agains us (all the hotel staff protected and hid the security person). The next day, apparently my cars key was stolen. I informed people at the hotel, however, nobody found it. My vacations were a disaster, I spent more money and I lost time. I do not want this to happen to anyone, therefore, pay something more and never visit this hotel in your life.

We stayed at the hotel for 7 days at the end of January 2019. We enjoyed our time at the hotel. It was very clean, the staff was very friendly and the service was excellent. We had requested a fridge in our room via e-mail prior to our visit and they had a fridge available for us. We enjoyed the breakfast and lunch and ventured downtown each night for supper. The beer, wine and Pina Colada's tasted great and the bar service was very good. The snorkelling at the resort was good and the proximity to downtown was very handy. Really good value for the cost.
