The resort was beautiful right across the street from the beach. Rooms were moderate, my boyfriend and I had an issue with the bathroom being dirty with black hair in the tub, having just checked-in and being blonde it clearly wasn't from us. There was a bit of a language barrier with housekeeping and it was difficult trying to have someone clean the room again. STRONGLY ADVISE NOT CARRYING ROOM KEY WITH CREDIT CARDS, I found myself making multiple long trips back and forth from my room to The front desk because my key wouldn't work. No fault but mine. For some reason we couldn't charge anything to the room we had to pay up front for food and drinks by the pool and bar. This was a little odd to me for a resort. The staff were very helpful and nice. Everything was great until we checked out after a 3 day and got the bill. The room was paid in full prior, we looked closely to find miscellaneous "Charity" taxes from "UNICEF". This felt very scheming only because we were never asked to donate, as well as no proof or recognition anywhere on the property. This felt like they were trying to embarrass us for complaining about these "charity taxes". My concern was how do we know if the money actually goes to charity?? We were never told "charity fees due at checkout" when I booked the room. When we inquired about the charges, the staff were so quick to issue a refund, as if it happens often and majority don't catch it. It's a shame to have a small part of a beautiful experience leave a bad taste as this did.

Great vacation

Our family of four stayed in this hotel for week over Christmas. While the bathroom was not in perfect shape, the shower was strong & worked well. Cleaning staff did good job. Hotel breakfast was good & it was nice to eat outside in sun. The grounds of the hotel and pool were perfect. Cab to old town was about $3.50.

Awesome garden and pool. Average and old fashion rooms.

The best of this hotel besides its location in Bocagrande and its atmosphere is definetely outdoor areas as the pool, the garden with lot of animals (even sloths can be spoted) . Staff are attentive and very helpful. Architecture of the hotel is nice and you feel good if you love Biltmore style in Miami or Nacional in Havana... We enjoyed a lot the experience here , we had lunch and breakfast and were more than ok for us. Cons on the other hand come from the old fashion style of rooms that need a urgent update , bathroom is small and need some repairs too. Details as lack of light bulbs and batteries in the safety box send you a message as client that more could be done by management. Overall anyways is good as our comfort sleeping was awesome and this is more important for us travelling than the rest of things mentioned above. I will give you another try when visiting again Cartagena.

Hotel is very clean love the pool. Location is perfect and everything is within walking distance. My children especially enjoyed the wave pool. Highly recommend this hotel. We will be staying here again!

This was a 3 star dirty, poorly managed hotel. Breakfast was ok, pool OK. Room was very poor. Only redeeming feature were the grounds. I advise if you want 5 (or even 4) star experience do not stay here.
