Nice property
Nov 20 2017
Everything was great. Room had a nice view. Wish they stocked a refrigerator in the room. Did not care for the buffet. Ala cart restaurant was good. Staff was very nice. When we checked in and everything was closed they had a nice box lunch for us to eat. Pools were pleasant.

More than I expected!
Aug 02 2017
My 3 children and I booked last-minute all-inclusive vacation with Apple. I wasn't expecting too much as it was last minute however, I was suprised with the excellent hospitality we received from the Holiday Inn staff. Everyone was courteous and friendly. Extra shout outs to: Gabriella and Raquel at the front desk. They always had a smile and were very accommodating, Alan presented a very detailed and scenic bike tour, Arnulfo at the Terraza is very friendly and efficient server, the bartender at the Terraza was also efficient and friendly but I forgot his name:( .. My children ranged from teen, tween and school age- they all enjoyed swimming everyday, all day. I would definetiely recommend this hotel and package for families.

We had never been to an all inclusive resort and it was awesome!

Good clean place to stay

The Holiday Inn is dated but it is cpean and the staff is friendly. The food was good, and the drinks were strong. Lots of kids here, but did not detract from the ammeneties. You are about 75 miles from Cabo San Lucas. Cabo San Jose where this hotel is at is quite a bit more calm and friendly.

Couldn't have been better!

We had a GREAT time at this resort this week! The Activities Pool was tons of fun to watch, even if you did not indulge in the water aerobics or volleyball or whatever else Alan and Lili cooked up for you. Beautiful grounds, good food, decent drinks, and a fiesta featuring dances from different parts of Mexico. Horses on the beach, leaping mantas, gorgeous moonrises, and lounges everywhere: enough for all! Will definitely be back.

Fishing trip booked through Amstar representative at hotel - Aldo
Jun 14 2017
June 5th fishing trip was overall a very poor experience. The vendor used for the trip was very poor and ill-equipped. Crew acted as if we were not expected, had nothing ready or prepared for trip as promised by booking agent Aldo. Captain & mate had very poor interaction with us as customers.

It was a nice hotel. Little windy and unable to swim on the beach adjacent to property. Had to walk about 1 mile to swim. Hotel rooms need some updating.

Great property and staff

The property is located at a lovely location and with most of the beaches in the area being unswimmable, it did not bother me that their beach was the same. They are located in walking distance to some shops along with a Walmart that is only a ten minute drive away. Very quiet on the beach and relaxing. Staff was great and serviced all of our requests with a smile. I would certainly return, but I rarely got to the same place twice. Even though I did meet a few people that have been to the property numerous of times. Would certainly recommend this property to friends and family along with other Holida Inn Resorts and that is coming from someone that works for Marriott!

Nice place

Nice place. Average. Pool closes at 9pm, kind of early for summer vacation but management said that's the standard time. We spent a day at another resort one of our vacay days and they closed at 10 pm. Clean. Restaurant's food was good but limited/same menu. Buffet was delish for breakfast, alright for lunch and we didnt try it for dinner.

Excellent location and great staff!

Excellent location and great staff! Everyone was so friendly and helpful. Rooms were comfortable and nice. Veronica was awesome at the activities pool, and our bike tour into town with Yolanda was excellent! We will definitely be back at this resort!

This is our third time to this property, and we love it. We traveled this time during the low season, so there was not as many activities, etc, going on, but that meant more time in the pool. There was a party for the 4th of July, which was a surprise. The resort is pleasant and clean--the rooms are nice. We did have a problem with our key card on our room, it actually happened twice where they had to call maintenance. After the second time I received a call asking if we wanted to change rooms for the inconvenience. I thought that was a really nice touch as they did not have to do that--stuff happens, after all! We did not change rooms. The thing that really makes this resort are the people--both the people staying at the resort and the staff. You will not find a lot of stuffy people here. People are friendly and will talk--I heard several comments about how pleasant everyone was (could be the booze! lol). There is no party scene here, mostly families and the older generation. We always find friends to eat and chat with from all over the world, but mostly they are from Canada, the US, and Mexico. I also think this atmosphere is due to the staff. The staff is the best part of this resort, and I hope they are cherished by their management! This is not a 5-star resort, so you will not find that kind of service. What you find is better--a group of people that will welcome you with a big smile and as a friend. Elva at the Dolphin (kids') pool has been there a long time, and this year she saw me and smiled and commented on how my son has grown. She recognized us! And every day she greeted us with smiles and conversation (she's expecting a grandbaby in December, next year I want to see pictures!). Octavio at the same bar is also amazing. Chava at the buffet was exceptional--every day he saw us, he waved us over to sit in his section. He made sure that my son was well fed, and always brought him extra orange juice, even when not asked! We adored him. We also enjoyed Oscar, Benito & Francisco. A note on the food--we really enjoyed it, and did not have an issue with temperature. When we went the pizza oven for lunch was broken (sad) so my son was disappointed. Breakfast was great at the buffet. We always took our lunch at the beach-side restaurant. First dinner (aka snack) was at the buffet, second dinner was at the restaurant. This year they went to a reservation system for the restaurant--but it was simple. You simply wrote down your name on a piece of paper that was located in the buffet every morning. There was no long line. The only thing I'd change is offering a mat for the bathroom--the shower is slippery (don't ask me how I know...ouch)! I work in the travel industry and every year we think about going somewhere new and trying new things, but we would miss our friends so much!

Veronica made things very fun. Staff very friendly and everything very clean. Rooms are just a bit aged but not bad at all. We had a great stay there and enjoyed the very quite and relaxing resort. Huge beach area just can't swim like most of that area
