Nice property
Nov 20 2017
Everything was great. Room had a nice view. Wish they stocked a refrigerator in the room. Did not care for the buffet. Ala cart restaurant was good. Staff was very nice. When we checked in and everything was closed they had a nice box lunch for us to eat. Pools were pleasant.

More than I expected!

My 3 children and I booked last-minute all-inclusive vacation with Apple. I wasn't expecting too much as it was last minute however, I was suprised with the excellent hospitality we received from the Holiday Inn staff. Everyone was courteous and friendly. Extra shout outs to: Gabriella and Raquel at the front desk. They always had a smile and were very accommodating, Alan presented a very detailed and scenic bike tour, Arnulfo at the Terraza is very friendly and efficient server, the bartender at the Terraza was also efficient and friendly but I forgot his name:( .. My children ranged from teen, tween and school age- they all enjoyed swimming everyday, all day. I would definetiely recommend this hotel and package for families.

Good clean place to stay

The Holiday Inn is dated but it is cpean and the staff is friendly. The food was good, and the drinks were strong. Lots of kids here, but did not detract from the ammeneties. You are about 75 miles from Cabo San Lucas. Cabo San Jose where this hotel is at is quite a bit more calm and friendly.

Couldn't have been better!

We had a GREAT time at this resort this week! The Activities Pool was tons of fun to watch, even if you did not indulge in the water aerobics or volleyball or whatever else Alan and Lili cooked up for you. Beautiful grounds, good food, decent drinks, and a fiesta featuring dances from different parts of Mexico. Horses on the beach, leaping mantas, gorgeous moonrises, and lounges everywhere: enough for all! Will definitely be back.

Fishing trip booked through Amstar representative at hotel - Aldo
Jun 14 2017
June 5th fishing trip was overall a very poor experience. The vendor used for the trip was very poor and ill-equipped. Crew acted as if we were not expected, had nothing ready or prepared for trip as promised by booking agent Aldo. Captain & mate had very poor interaction with us as customers.

It was a nice hotel. Little windy and unable to swim on the beach adjacent to property. Had to walk about 1 mile to swim. Hotel rooms need some updating.

A Great Baja Experience

Sunshine, swimming pools, cabanas scattered on a long stretch of beach in January with all meals - a gourmet menu from its a la Carte restaurant (must reserve table) - and unlimited beverages, alcoholic and non-alcoholic, included. What more to ask for? The Pina Colada and the red wine from Italy were exceptional, excelled only by the dining service and its eager waiters. Other fun things we did nearby were whale-watching off San Lucas, San Jose's twin city; snorkeling at Chileno Bay; and a tour of Flora Farms with a delicious lunch harvested from its gardens. The surises and sunsets were spectatacular from our bedroom. The only black mark is its stained, old, sad shower..

Great location for a relaxing getaway!

I arrived at the hotel on the 13th, my room was ready to go and the service was excellent. The room itself was a partial ocean view with a balcony and it was perfect. We overlooked the adult pool and estuary and I highly recommend it. It was quiet and provided a great view, plus some chatty birds in the morning. The rooms that overlooked the activities pool were nice, but can be a bit louder as we had a friend staying in those rooms. As for the restaurants, we were pleased with the options. First, the buffet. Breakfast was by far the best meal we had at the buffet. Plenty of delicious options and everything was fresh. Lunch and Dinner wasn't quite as good. As we only ended up there for dinner twice over the course of our 4 nights. Lunch had some decent options. The a la carte restaurant on the beach was the much better option for both lunch and dinner. Food was prepared fresh and was of higher quality in my opinion. All of the bartenders were amazing, and the choices for drinks were endless. We participated in several of the events (nightly shows, karaoke, and some pool games) and were impressed. Hotel does a good job keeping people entertained. We walked to downtown San Jose del Cabo one night, took about 20 mins. Easy, safe walk that was well lit and well traveled. Lots of construction down there but it is going to be beautiful when complete. Now this place does quiet down at night. As we got in trouble one night for be loud in our room at 10pm. The only place open late is the sports bar by the buffet and they lack many seating options in there. Overall, I was impressed. This is a cheaper option for Cabo and it turned out to be exactly what we needed. A place to get away from the cold and relax. Might spend a bit more next time and get a place with more food options, but Holiday Inn was perfect for where we are now.

We went there as a family, two adults and two kids under seven. We requested first floor room at the front desk and the guy checking us in was wonderful and very accommodating. We got a room on the ground floor and close to the front desk. We found the room very clean, housekeeping ladies were wonderful and accommodating especially during afternoon nap time for the kids. What we liked the most is how family friendly the place felt, our kids spend most of their time in the kids pool and walking on the beach and building sand castles. The kids club was mostly crafts, our kids weren’t interested. The food was okay, we preferred the Al a carte for lunch but their menu was limited. Thanks for the many people that suggested the fish tacos, they were our favourite. The buffet was okay the first two days then it got repetitive, it was fine for our kids. We found they could always find something to eat. My only worry is when you see a dish for lunch and dinner you can’t tell if they are reusing it or it is fresh. We also thought the yogurt and milk were left out too long and most days. I know by the time we left, all of us had stomach issues and our 3 year old had to spend a night in the hospital. If there was a lesson for parents out there, is please, watch to make sure your kids don’t drink the tap water when brushing teeth, you are better off using bottled water. Also avoid pre cut fruits, try eating ones you can peal. Another recommendation, use the safe, it was very easy to use and we didn’t have to worry about our electronics and other valuables.

Not a big fan of Holiday Inn but this place was decent. I was not very happy with original room assignment but staff were happy to change it. Clean and quiet with a nice beach. Food was ok. Lots of activities.

Our first stay as couple of winter-weary Canadians left us with a good impression of this sprawling, older, well maintained resort. Our room was spacious and had a view of the main pool, the beach and ocean beyond. The furniture was a bit dated but the king bed and bedding was very comfortable. Check in and check out was a breeze. The food, although not exciting, was fairly good with healthy choices at all meals. The only disappointing meal was the Wednesday fiesta in which most of the food was cold and unappetizing - which was unfortunate since the event was laborious for the staff to set up and execute. The staff was courteous and helpful -the servers, housekeepers, the front lobby staff - all made our stay in this little sunny paradise relaxing and stress free. We hope to be back.
