Have had my eye on this place for a while now. Finally took the trek to PVR. Anytime you go to an all inclusive you already expect the food to be mediocre. The food was decent. French restaurant was the best. Skip the Brazilian it’s not tasty. Their chips and guacamole were actually my favorite. Drinks were a plenty. We decided to stay at the Hacienda which is an adults only resort and it’s very secluded private and nice. We did the swim out suite since I’m a diamond I was upgraded from the garden saved a ton of money. The swim out normally that I’ve seen at other resorts connects to the main pool these are just individual pools on your patio. It’s a cool concept we took advantage of it but it’s not private so keep that in mind if you wanna get your freak on. The sushi rooftop bar in the main hotel was very good the sushi chef makes it fresh to order and the view is perfect and a nice breeze up there. The Miami vice was the most popular drink. Staff was great. We did order room service and they never came so that’s why I can’t give them a 5. The food was a 3 and the resort was a solid 4 / 4.5. It’s definitely worth the $$$ because you don’t have to worry about drinks and you can stay on the resort the entire time and be perfectly happy.

I want to go back!!

Amazing place, great service, comfort and excellent atmosphere. We have a Sr. person and there were not issues trying to move her around the facilities, thus she was able to enjoy the place same as the rest of the family.

My wife and I discovered Hacienda Hilton (Adults Only) on our resent trip to Puerto Vallarta. GM Hernan Vanegas has done a great job in putting together an outstanding staff and ammentites that start with the Talavera Restaurant which is a large outdoor restaurant surrounded by a beautiful lagoon style pool with a swim up palapa bar. Head Chef Feleciano Duenas at Talavera did an outstanding job of preparing many gourmet meals for our dinners at the Hacienda. Over the last 45 years my wife and I have traveled extensively both domestically and abroad and we would have to say that Hacienda Hilton compares well with the many 5-star hotels such as The Ritz-Carlton, Hotel Emma in San Antonio and The King George V in Paris. It's an all inclusive hotel including Starbucks on the lobby level for coffee and snacks! The ground floor rooms have their own small pool directly outside your bedroom patio. and the 4th floor rooms have Jacuzzis on the private patios of many of the rooms. My wife and I plan to go back very soon so that we can be treated like royalty again and again. We had rented a car so that we could travel around to the Four Seasons in Punta Mita and other fine dining places for dinner. After returning from Punta Mita on our second day, I returned the car and had all of our meals at the Hacienda! You won't need to convert to peso's since US currency works great for tipping purposes and other needs.

Not a Hilton experience

If your desiring the normal Hilton accommodations it will not be here, if your looking for a good pool with lots of alcohol not really caring about the room you’ll be just fine. The Brazilian restaurant is atrocious, just skip it. The Mexican and French were great with the Mexican being the best for quality and service!

Hilton Puerto Vallarta This is a solid 4 star resort. We had a great time, and this Hilton shines in many areas. It’s not perfect, and there are a few drawbacks making this a 4 instead of 5 star resort in my eyes. We stay at a lot of Hilton properties, and are HHonors Gold Status. We have stayed in the Cabo location, Fiji, New Zealand and many others both in the states and internationally. Pros: -Very close to airport which makes it easy and convenient (10 minute drive). There is a set rate of 250 pesos or $18 as of June 2018. I found you cannot bargain the rate inside the airport, it seems to be almost unionized and the driver has to pay at an airport booth when he leaves. 250 pesos exchange is about $12-$13 so cheaper and smart to get about $100 exchanged into pesos at your bank before the trip. Coming back from the Hilton to the airport it is 125 pesos flat rate. -The workers are VERY nice and genuinely helpful. I read online tips are included in room rate, but you can tip if you feel you had great service and want to. I found this to be very true. There was zero pressure to tip. We did, and more when we had awesome service, but no one was acting like it was expected. -Room. We were upgraded to a Jr Suite. It was pretty large, nice bathroom with a tub, separate shower. We had a small pool as well on our deck on the bottom floor. You can tell the aging of the hotel, paint chips, rust outside. Nothing terrible but you can tell it’s older. -Food. We really enjoyed the dining options, but had to find out what worked best for us. The Buffett was great for breakfast, lots of options and I always got made to order eggs, homemade tortillas fresh in front of me and asked for avocado slices. I never saw avocado or guacamole out at breakfast, but I did see it at other meals. After a few sit down dinners we decided to eat at the buffet for dinner and really liked the flexibility of going whenever we wanted and it was nice to just swim in the pool after which was right next to the buffet. Again-fresh taco meat (chicken, steak, pork and veggi/fajita options to choose) and tortillas at the food stations were a staple for me!! Our favorite restaurant was the Talavara (at the new The Hacienda adult only resort that connects via bridge between a hotels). It’s open only 12-5pm BUT had the best options of sit down for us. We found ourselves there everyday for a late lunch. Appetizers options of chips and guacamole, nachos, buffalo wings, potato slices, ceviche and calamari. For the main course we loved the sirloin bacon burger, pita burger, fish tacos and more! Hugo the server and the lady manager were SO nice! It’s right next to the pool at that resort (SUPER great decor/landscape/vibe at The Hacienda-just not ocean front like main Hilton next door). That pool also has a swim up bar. I loved being next door at The Hacienda to soak up the quiet adult only pool and perfect design and vibe. The main pool at the Hilton had an area outside by the pool/beach area with nachos, grill to cook burgers and hot dogs, pizza, chicken nuggets, etc. If we had our kids (and there were TONS of families with kids) we would have ate there more. Really good food and convenient. Rooftop pool has a bar and sushi till 8pm. I enjoyed the sushi roll I got, they serve about 5 or 6 to choose from and make them fresh. We liked hanging out there in the evenings, watch sunset and stay till the pool closed at 10pm I was not as impressed with the sit down Mexican restaurant. It’s on The Hacienda side (AMAZING DECOR though!!), but super limited menu. Only one appetizer option and it was some veggi thing. No thanks, we want chips/guacamole, fish, etc. We did enjoy the seafood soup and I liked my steak dinner, there just were not enough options and the menu seemed too “fancy” to us. Fogo the Brazilian steak house. First off we were 5 minutes early for our seating and they made us sit outside (it was really humid and hot mid June). I agreed but the bugs were biting and it was just uncomfortable. I was a little annoyed because there were two 4 top tables open inside and a table for about 10. After 15 minutes and clearly no one was coming I asked to be moved. They were hesitant (I have no idea why, if anyone with 4 came they could sit outside since they were the late ones, and there were still plenty of tables inside). Eventually we were moved, but I hated feeing annoying by asking. Food was ok, the filet minion was either not filet or the toughest and worst I’ve ever had. Rib eye and sausage were both good. But not good enough overall to return. We hadn’t heard good things about the French restaurant and my husband only brought khaki shorts and collar shirts and the sign said pants only. They probably would have allowed him in, but if you want to go it would be good to know it has a somewhat upscale dress code for a beach resort. Drinks overall were cold and good. Wine quality was average at best and hard to find Chardonnay (almost all white was Pinot). Beer was basic, corona, corona light, pacifio, bud light...I like dark and IPAs-as expected they didn’t have those. Hard alcohol selection seemed pretty decent quality for an all inclusive. La Bonita is a coffee shop by the rooms and you can get lattes, cappuccinos, etc for free! We thought they were an extra cost, but our second to last day realized they were free! Cons Beach- not a total con but it’s a VERY average at best beach. No one is in the water or playing on the sand. It’s kind of rough sand and literally people selling things will walk up to you every 5 minutes. They will leave you alone when you say no thank you, but it still gets old. Vendors are allowed in the Hilton beach chair area and you can’t just relax without saying no over and over. They also just stand right in front of you, between the pool/chairs/ocean view. For at least an hour 4 guys just stood there, they are probably in 100s of pictures when anyone wants to take a pictures of the ocean, vendors will be in every background. At the Hilton Aruba that was not allowed, and it was much better and just relaxing that way. Internet-it’s included in our stay because of HHonors but I had to re sign in multiple times each day and that was a little annoying. Power Outages. On two of our 5 days the power went out, on and off for about 30 minutes to an hour for a total of 4 hours or so. Not that big of a deal (unless you took the elevator! We stopped after that started happening just in case). Leak. There was a wet floor sign and wet towels in the middle of the hallway right outside of room 106, next door to us the whole stay. There must be a leak in the ceiling, but it’s a major eye sore and I assume has and will be that was for months or maybe even years. Overall really good vacation and we will return. I will remember all the genuine and kind employees! I hope some improves will be made updating the main Hilton building, beach vendors and restaurant menu options...but besides that great hotel and trip!
