A Little Oversold
ANDREW B.

We were told (Including on the invoice from Apple) that we were on the modified Eurpean food plan; which was breakfast only. By the way, so did the hotel. After the hotel checked with Apple, they and we were told that is not correct and no breakfast included. This cost us $30 per day. The rooms in the hotel are "Tired" they have not been upgraded in 20 years ads the bathrooms need attention.

A good hotel if you're in the Executive rooms.

Starting off I would like to make sure everyone knows my husband and I stayed in an Executive room which was on the top floor of the hotel. We had a beautiful view of the ocean and some of the mountains on the island. By staying in the executive room we were able to get free breakfast and snacks. The variety for breakfast was nice usually yogurt, fruit, eggs, some type of meat, they always had coffee and soda available. Everyone who worked there was very professional and nice. Our room was comfortable and we had a well-stocked bathroom. I've seen many reviews talk about poor or slow service, THAT IS THE ENTIRE ISLAND! I tried asking why the service was so slow to one of the exchange students from Holland and she didn't know either and was too afraid to ask. The only thing I honestly disliked about this hotel was that the carpets were not clean. If they did a carpet cleaning it would look %100 better.

Lovely stay at the lovely Hilton Curacao.

The Hilton Curacao is on the beach and has a lot of amenity. There are two bars, two restaurants and a wonderful breakfast buffet each morning. The food at Cielo, one of the restaurants, is absolutely delicious. Room service is prompt. The menu is limited, but what we had was tasty and well presented. I would rate this hotel a 5, except that service is very uneven. ALL the staff are friendly and willing. Only some are able, however. A lot of catch as catch can in the field of knowledgeable employees. All that said, the room was clean and we had no "problems". Lovely atmosphere. I definitely recommend the Hilton Curacao.

Don’t stay here

We ended up leaving just after a few hours here. The room was so dirty. Moldy and smelly, bathroom not clean. My asthma acted up. Opened up the curtain and dust everywhere. It’s clear that they don’t take care of this place. So surprised that this place has a Hilton name on it. The sand had cigarette butts and small trash. So disappointed. The water was very clear and nice. The pool looked nice. I will never be back. Don’t wast your money or time.

Dated hotel, poor service, nice and well maintained grounds

I'm probably being generous by giving it 3 stars but the grounds are well maintained and the snorkeling off the beach is quite good. We're at the end of a 3 week trip to Curacao, we spent 5 days in the Hilton at the beginning of our trip and we have 3 days at the end of my trip using points. We stayed in an AirBnB in the middle. I'm a lifetime diamond member and I booked an executive floor ocean view room for both stays using points. The first stay, I got the category room I booked. The room was dated but clean and comfortable with a working air conditioner. The balcony and ocean view were great and it was quiet, so nice to sit outside in the evenings. I checked in for the second stay this afternoon, and when I arrived they gave me a 3rd floor room overlooking the parking lot. I told them I had booked an ocean view executive floor, they told me no, I booked a garden room but since I was a diamond member they would upgrade me to a junior suite. Not sure how they would have handled it if I wasn't a lifetime diamond member. I had the printed confirmation in my suitcase but didn't want to rifle through my suitcase in the lobby, so I accepted the keys and went to the "upgraded" room. I'm not sure what defines it as a suite, it's similar to the one I had during my first stay except slightly larger to fit a small wicker couch inside. The ocean view I paid for is really a view of the maintenance sheds and the volleyball court. Beyond the volleyball court behind some trees is a partial ocean view. The room is very close to the air handling system, so it's really loud on the balcony. It's also right above the kitchen so there's a lot of noise from that also. The room I booked cost more points than the room they gave me, this is clearly not an upgrade. After I got to the room I found my printed confirmation and took it back to the front desk to talk to the manager. He agreed that I clearly booked an ocean view executive floor room, but that as of this morning, they no longer have that category room because they have done away with calling the 5th floor the executive floor and are closing the executive lounge. He did give me a $100 resort credit for my troubles, but to be clear, this is an inferior room to the one I booked. I'm going to deal with Hilton Corp over the details of a point reimbursement because I think it will be easier than dealing with the staff here. This room is on the opposite end of the hotel from where I stayed the last time, so I didn't realize how loud it could be. It's right above the restaurant and there is a band playing and it's extremely loud. I can see how any room on this end of the hotel would be a problem for people with small children who were trying to sleep. The air conditioner doesn’t work nearly as well as it did in the previous room. It’s rather warm in here and it’s going full blast. The room is clean and the bed is comfortable though. The bathroom and shower are nice. Hilton let's you make requests for things you want in you room on your arrival, such as drinks, extra bedding, etc. I requested extra pillows and got a confirmation email with my request. I don't believe the hotel staff has been trained on this. It took 3 phone calls and trip to the desk with the confirmation email to get the extra pillows. They made it seem like a huge inconvenience. I know it's a small thing, but the small things add up. Checking in and out takes forever. Plan on waiting in line for 30 minutes for more. The food at the hotel is actually pretty good. The service is not, particularly at the beach bar. More than once they forgot to put orders in, forgotten to bring drinks, and are generally slow. Bartenders at both bars are not really trained. For example, today I ordered a pina colada and my husband ordered rum and coke, the bartender made both drinks with Dewars Scotch. The bartender said she didn't know the scotch was different from the rum because they looked the same. Not sure you should be behind a bar if you don't know the difference between rum and scotch. She was very nice though and did make us new drinks, so there’s that. Desiree who works in the soon to be defunct Executive Lounge is excellent. She's very helpful, has lots of suggestions on what to do and will make reservations and such for you. Not sure what her role will be after the lounge closes. Hopefully, she’ll still be employed there because she is really great. Bottom line is 2 different stays, 2 vastly experiences. I'd stay here again in a pinch I suppose, but there are much better choices on Curacao. Next time I’m here I’ll do an AirBnB.

The rooms could use a good cleaning and the decor needs a refresh. The dining experience sucked. We had warm food one night and all other times, it took 30-45mins for the food to get to us and it was ALWAYS cold. The was very little flexibility in the menu, specifically the kids menu, and we traveled with our toddler. Our best meals were offsite. We never had any resort guest services around the pool or in the beach area.
