SEAWEED!!!!

This is what the "beach" looked like. Find out about the seaweed BEFORE booking. We were never advised, nobody there seemed to care nor did they even apologize. A waste of 7 days and about $5,000 for the trip.

Trampoline for a bed?

the bed was as if someone had used it as a trampoline and crushed all the springs. You could roll from the edge of the bed into the centre and then fight to climb out of the bed over the springwall - bad sleep as a result.

Outstanding!

The hotel, room, and staff are wonderful. We had an issue with the Barbados Blue Water Sports and the Hilton has been wonderful helping us. (The Hilton manager did attempt to contact us a few times but we haven't spoken yet) we are still here at the Hilton and I am very impressed with everything. We are already looking to book here in the Spring.

We had a great week at the Barbados Hilton. The location and physical facilities are excellent. Very nice pools, very nice well above average beach, and the ocean swimming area is well designed. We have stayed at this Hilton seven times! The staff are friendly, professional, kind, courteous, helpful, positive, etc., and they all smile. We shall return!

We flew in on the redeye from JFK and arrived to the hotel very early in the morning. To our surprise at the time of check-in we were told that our room was ready and as a diamond member they were waiving the early check-in fee, not only that we were also upgraded to a junior suite. What a great first impression. We were jet-lagged, exhausted and to be able to go straight to our suite and rest was a wonderful start to our holiday. The room was spacious with a separate living room area, two fridges, two full bathrooms, two flatscreen TVs and two ocean-view balconies, one with a small table and two chairs, the other with a large comfy circular love-seat. I appreciated the charming Caribbean beach themed decor wicker furniture, tropical blues, sandy neutral tones, with picturesque ocean and pool views as the backdrop. The Hilton's perfect beach location, was seemingly empty during our stay, we never had a problem with the hogging of umbrellas or lounge chairs. Although it is located within walking distance to a few restaurants, we chose to rent a car since parking was ample and free. It should be noted that breakfast for elites is NOT in The Lighthouse restaurant, but in the lounge where it is hit or miss. Unfortunately, the executive lounge is one of the areas where improvement is definitely needed. As other reviewers have mentioned it is somewhat of an ordeal. Hot canapés and Hors d'oeuvre are rationed out and limited as they are served by staff who pop in and out of the kitchen rather than left in chafing dishes, for adults to serve themselves and the bar operated on an honor system...a staff member who waited by the bottles with a pen, paper and measuring shot glass. As a diamond member of all the Hilton lounges that I have been to this was the strangest experience and quite honestly a turn-off. We dined at the Water’s Edge Bar & Grille and had drinks at Careenage Bar a couple of times, paying your typical penalties for the convenience of being able to dine at your hotel. Despite the lounge offerings the food was surprisingly good at the Water’s Edge, although the drinks could have been much stronger at both bars. My only other grievance was the quality of the bed which was rock-hard. When checking out my spouse complained of back and stiff neck issues having slept on what seemed like cement blocks for four nights. We split our time at another hotel for the opportunity to explore the West Coast, which we preferred, but if we returned and had to stay in Bridgetown we may give the Hilton a second chance.
