Excellent resort hotel

Stayed here for a week early January on a leisure visit. This is an excellent resort with clean and tidy rooms All the staff are very friendly helpful and polite, nothing was too much trouble. A big thank you to Carisia who we saw around the hotel and executive lounge and always had a warm friendly welcome. The hotel is in a great location to explore the island and has a great selection of restaurants and an amazing pool area with direct access to the beach. We will be returning soon.

Beautiful beach

We have just spend a wonderful 7 nights at the Hilton. The beach is beautiful and clean white fine sand, fairly private with just an odd friendly vendor or too - happy to leave when you say no. The sea is a little rough and possibly not the easiest to swim in but lovely clear water. Always lots or loungers on beach and poolside, the hot tub is great on a grey day. Our room on the 2nd floor had a fabulous view, the room facilities were sufficient, lots of plug sockets, iron, hairdryer, safe,tv and a small balcony to admire the pool and sea. There was a coffee machine and large fridge in the room too. It was kept beautifully clean with towels changed daily and the bedding was changed through the week. The location is perfect and from our walks along the beach is one of the nicest beaches and hotels in this area. Taxis at the front of hotel may seem expensive but are convenient, or catch a reggae reggae bus for 2 BDS each - so easy and a new experience too. We were sorry to have to leave. Great location, hotel and staff.

Nice, very nice, outpost in an urban setting

We were here for a week and Gold status with Hilton generated a number of nice perks. Check-in was uneventful. Our executive king oceanview room was well maintained and clean. The staff members we met and spoke with were the most sincerely courteous we have encountered in the Caribbean. Breakfasts were consistently great. Our sole attempt to lunch poolside was a disaster, our orders resulting in grossly overcooked mahi mahi in the tacos and fish balls that were nothing but grease-flavored hush puppies. (We did not finish either dish.) Accordingly, all our other meals were at restaurants off the property. Those results there were hit or miss and rated elsewhere. The tour desk was helpful and efficient; we used them to arrange a catamaran excursion and a rental car. During the "shipwreck" dive on the catamaran trip, we realized we could have just taken our snorkeling gear and walked to Browne’s beach from the hotel. There, a few boats have been sunk just offshore to create habitat for sea life and an attraction for the tourists. Had we just gone there on our own time, we could have missed the “shoulder to shoulder” snorkeling with the boat people! We were very pleased with the hotel overall, but any Bridgetown hotel is in an urban setting. Walking into town required courage as the sidewalks are intermittent, narrow, and poorly lit. Driving on the island required real bravery because the roads are in terrible condition and are, basically, unmarked, but other drivers were courteous. We never achieved the level of comfort and enjoyment we felt on other islands in the Caribbean, but I don’t think staying at a different property in Bridgetown would have changed that.

A wonderful place for rest and relaxation on a fantastic island! If you're looking for a wonderful spot, choose here! It has the sun sea and sand and some of the best food option on the island. You will be satisfied

I am Diamond Status with Hilton. I had a reservation and when I arrived to the hotel which would have been like 4:00 to 4:30PM, I was told that my room was not ready. Maybe it's different at this hotel, but I thought check in was 3:00PM or later at most hotels? After some discussion, I was offered another room which wasn't the type I booked, but I accepted. The location of the room was fine with a great view, so I didn't mind the two beds instead of a King that I had reserved. I had also wanted a higher floor, and this room with two beds gave me that. The room is very well appointed, light and bright, not dated, so all good there. The one glaring thing wrong that I found so far during my stay here, is dining here on the property. Except for breakfast when I find the service to be good, and the more formal restaurant that is off the bar where I found the service to be good (when open), is that the special Saturday evening Pasta Dinner they have in one of their dining rooms was very poorly executed. One chef behind a table preparing individual meals for a long line of frustrate people waiting their turn. Items that were pre-prepared were out when I arrived at 8P for Saturday evening dinner. The service in their bar area for dining was awful. Then theres the taste of the food. The only food I have had here that I can say was good in my opinion was the "Jerk Chicken" that is served on Sundays at the dining area next to the pools. All other food I have had here at the various dining areas is average at best, and hardly that. So, don't come to this Hilton expecting excellent food and service. I didn't find it, and I have tried them all here. Tonight, I left the hotel and walked to a restaurant down the street that I saw had mixed reviews. So, while the room is very good, the beach is very good, the dining options that are here are lacking. Would I stay here again? Yes. Next time I will do my research before coming and decide where to go outside of the hotel to dine.
