Hard to say...

... because like with all reviews they are subjective. Lovely hotel, huge, not my thing, mixed service from staff, fab gym, fab breakfast, loved the Marcus restaurant, easy to walk into town, and lovely views. Did not get amazing customer service, just big standard really. No one went above and beyond. My room was average, smelt of damp, the shower head was not consistent as water came from random holes not all, and the bathroom did flood a little after each shower. The cleaners were amazing since it is a big hotel. I would not return for a personal holiday, but does the job for business: Wi-fi good, breakfast good, comfy bed!

This hotel was beautiful on our honeymoon and even more so 35 years later. The staff is pleasant, friendly and quick to accommodate you. The Crown & Anchor and 1609 are fantastic restaurants. Our room was spacious with a balcony and amazing view. Highly reccomend this paradise for any vacation.

Expensive but service doesn’t match the room rate

Spent three nights here. Hotel has had a big renovation recently and rooms are nice as are the staff. Room rate is high so you expect service to match. First morning there was a huge wait for a table for breakfast and I was ignored once I did sit down until they gave me the bill. I did complain and they went out of their way on day two to compensate. On day two they did not clean the room until 6:45pm. I had to vacate room after having only just returned from a full days meetings. Laundry service fantastic. The hotel in nice but they are short staffed and this is affecting service. The lobby bar is cold and unwelcoming in my view but it is a question of taste. I know this hotel can do better and needs to or reduce prices to match the service being delivered.

Superb!

My husband and I have recently returned from a wonderful trip to Bermuda, staying at this fabulous hotel. Before we travelled, we were worried that, being a very large property, the Hamilton Princess might be too 'impersonal' and full of business people attending seminars and the like - or perhaps full of wedding guests attending various weddings. However, it was totally different from what we expected. Initially, we were allocated a room overlooking the infinity pool and Restaurant 1609. As we had booked a deluxe harbour view room, we were very disappointed as the harbour was not in view. Apparently, before the completion of the infinity pool and Restaurant 1609, it had been a harbour view room. However, we spoke with Reception and they kindly managed to locate us a room towards the end of the hotel where it was extremely peaceful with the added attraction of it having a fabulous view. Twenty years ago we stayed at the Southampton Princess during which time there was a mini shuttle ferry service between the Hamilton Princess and the Southampton Princess (sister hotels at that time). This meant you could dine at either hotel with ease so we were extremely disappointed to see that this service had been stopped. We appreciate that the two hotels are no longer 'sister hotels' but we think it would be very advantageous to both properties if this service was reinstated. Regarding the hotel itself, the service - particularly that received from Reception and Concierge (Roxanne and Kendia in particular) was exceptional. All staff were extremely kind, attentive and very knowledgeable about the area. We had full breakfast included in our package and were not disappointed - the food was superb. Nothing was too much trouble for staff and the chef even baked me a 'dairy-free' cake as I could not eat any of the pastries on offer. I was delighted. The hotel's private Beach Club was superb with all the facilities you might expect - food, drinks, toilets, even sun cream and water, plus comfortable sun loungers - and even hammocks in the water! One day, we walked from there to Horseshow Bay - a walk of about 20 minutes (but avoid doing this during the hottest part of the day!). Hamilton itself is a lovely town with lots of very good restaurants which we explored each night. Do try 'Harry's' (an upmarket restaurant very close by) where you are made to feel very welcome; the food and service was excellent Similarly, 'The Lobster Pot', (a more casual dining experience) had similarly excellent food. Unfortunately, we did not manage to dine at 1609 at the Princess but were told this was very good food - and they apparently serve an excellent fish chowder. Overall, we cannot rate the Hamilton Princess highly enough. The works of art scattered throughout the hotel are what we would term 'very interesting' and totally different, providing food for thought. The two swimming pools (infinity and adult only) are delightful and service was again excellent. Thanks to everyone for your kindness and attention. We loved our stay here and definitely hope to return!

Highly recommend!

We were actually booked at the Cambridge beaches resort and was not impressed so we checked out after one night. We booked the Hamilton Princess and wow what a difference! Great location, great service, great food! Our room had a great view of the harbor! Highly recommend staying in the lower rise rooms toward the end of the hotel...very quiet. We used room service a lot and ate on our balcony overlooking the water! The spa service was awesome! It is very expensive for a massage. However, they had a deal where your next massage was only $99. So we booked two days in a row for massages! It was awesome! I highly recommend you taking advantage of the shuttle that takes you to the Hamilton princess beach club. It is a nice beach and you can eat while you’re there. The food was good. We will definitely be back and would stay at the Hamilton Princess again! Bermuda tips: Take the ferry if you want to go on the west side of Bermuda. It’s very cheap like $5 versus a cab which would be around $50. Definitely go to Horseshoe Bay! The pink sand was pretty cool to see! If you stay at this hotel, you can walk to all the shops downtown. Shopping was great! I love that there was no sales tax!
