The hotel does not match Apples stated claims. Hotel is run down, dead flies everywhere. Check in staff is less the friendly. Property is overcrowded and checking is difficult when it is busy. A wedding is held daily at the Hotel and makes for chaos. Pool area does not accommodate amount of guests booked. Constant battle for chairs at the pool. Our towels were stolen and security constantly at the pool patrolling . Indicates a problem. We have booked many vacations through apple and have never been disappointed until this time.

Five Star Get-a-way!

We love the Grand Palladium in Punta Mita. Although the resort is a little older than the other resorts in PV, the staff does an excellent job of keeping the facilities clean and up to date. Any issues (non-functional TV remote) were handled immediately and with a smile and an apology. The staff are what makes the resort what it is. Always a friendly 'Hola' as you pass by and an eagerness to help in any way possible. We love Matias at the adult pool bar! Thanks again for a wonderful trip!

We were asked if we wanted to upgrade to the Royal Suites, we accepted the offer for additional monies. Once upgraded, the rooms and service were excellent. There was a problem of communication of when a room would be ready. We were told 3PM then packed our stuff and met at the lobby, ( we stayed one night in regular room) it was a few hours before our room at the Royal was ready. The shows were so-so....but maybe we are spoiled. We liked the Grand Palladium, Riviera Maya MX much, much better

Very Lovely Stay

The lovely welcome with a fresh juice beverage at the reception desk was so nice. All the hotel staff were friendly and helpful for our whole stay. We loved the free boogie boards and sandcastle buckets, etc. Loved playing in the waves on the beah and swimming in the saltwater "pool" for our daughter. Just a nice, relaxing place to stay. The food at the Mexican restaurant was excellent. The other restaurants we tried were fine, with the fresh-pressed juices at the cafeteria being exceptional. The only downside for us was the beds were quite small, more like a double than a queen. That was probably stated in advance and I overlooked it. Otherwise great stay! Highly recommend a daytrip into Sayulita by cab (about 25 minute drive) to check it out.

Wonderful, restful vacation.

Our recent vacation to the Grand Pallidium in Riveria Nyarit was above and beyond what we expected. There were no problems with our direct flight or transportation to the resort. The Grand Palladium is a beautiful, unique resort. The rooms are lovely, but most of our time was spent outside. There are 3 pools, our time was spent at the adult infinity pool. I can't say enough about the service at this resort. The staff went out of their way to make sure our stay was enjoyable. The check-in staff called our room at least 3 times to make sure everything was fine and to see if we needed anything. I would definitely return to the Grand Palladium and would recommend a stay at this resort.

Missing the Mark

The staff was amazing. They were courteous, helpful and always positive. Loved them all. Our room left a lot to be desired. In the 21st century, we now require outlets by the bedside and a few more than a couple throughout the room. Our patio door was stuck and the curtain was unhooked at the hanging rod. It took them 2 days to correct this. They came by every day but always after 8:30pm when we were getting ready for bed. The shower floor was so slippery, it was very difficult to relax when showering. The beach...well there was none on our side of the hotel. It was all slippery rock. It was not all we had hoped.

Excellent Mexico getaway

Feb 04 2017
This hotel was located beautifully on the beach and had many amenities that were excellent. The setting, the staff, the bar service and selection, the little things like flowers in the bathrooms, and cloth napkins etc. really made you feel special at all times. The cleanliness was also top notch. They washed down the pool area and raked the sand leading to the beach every day. Honestly, the accommodations were excellent. Great beds, nice linens, a free mini bar stocked daily. All really great stuff. Now for the not so good things. Buffet food isn't our favorite and I have to admit this was the one disappointment we had. The Mexican food was good, but the other cuisines were not what we expected and were actually subpar. But there was enough variety that you could always find something that filled your tummy, so I guess it can't all be good. One other thing that wasn't good at all was the wine. We decided it was due to the weather conditions and the inability to keep it cool, and properly stored away from light etc. This was true even of the higher quality wines available for purchase, because believe me, we tried. And finally, there was an issue with the sewer system outside our room. You could see where the manhole had actually had sewage back up into and overtop it, and spread out into the surrounding lawn and plantings. This was really quite disgusting. We complained about this at the front desk, but they never sent anyone down to ask about the issue although they said they would. It didn't back up while we were there, and we were on an upper floor, so we decided to let it go, but it really was something I wish could be remedied for health and safety reasons, as well as aesthetics for future visitors. And there was a lingering odor from this as well, so that was one unpleasant item. We did keep our patio door shut and our air conditioner on because of this. Overall, this was a great place and our vacation certainly wasn't ruined by the items noted above as being subpar, but I think the hotel could improve on their rating greatly if they addressed these issues both maintenance wise, and addressing some of the shortcomings in the food and wine. Thanks for letting me advise you of these things.

Staff are very accommodating!!

My husband and I visited the Grand Palladium Royal Suites for our honeymoon (adults only side of the resort). We had never been to Mexico prior to this visit. After being attacked by another resort at the airport to set up a visit to invest in a timeshare, we were faced with the same situation again at the resort. Maybe this is commonplace in Mexico? We did not expect it. After setting up a time to discuss the resort's timeshares, the front desk put us in building 5. All of building 4 was closed for renovation. Our room was on the third floor and there was no elevator. Having had 3 knee surgeries in the past 2.5 years, it was very difficult for me to continually go up and down the stairs several times a day. Additionally it was 95+ degrees every day we were there, so by the time we reached the bottom of the stairs we were already sweating. Our room had not yet been remodeled and our bed was extremely uncomfortable. The grounds that the resorts are on are beautiful and meticulously kept. However, we did not know that Punta Mita is 45 mins to an hour from downtown Puerto Vallarta. We wished we had done a bit more research regarding the location as a lot of the activities we wanted to do were closer to/ in Puerto Vallarta. This was also our first visit to an all inclusive and unfortunately we were not blown away. There are several restaurants on the property, but the food at all of them was mediocre. The construction noise was not a deal breaker but steadily went on from about 8am to 5pm daily. The staff at the hotel are what make it shine. All of them are extremely friendly, kind and accommodating. They are happy to get you anything you need to make you happy and more comfortable.

We have had an amazing holiday and been able to relax. The facilities are good, although we didn't get a chance to use all the water activities due to waves. We spent most of the day at the adult only pool where the Relax Bar Team more than looked after us. The amazing team are Melissa, Rodrigo, Luis & the best barman in the world Matias are the best. I highly recommend the mango tango!

OK Hotel but don't try to leave, Beware of the taxis!
Dave G, Sheffield

Most of the other reviews are OK about this hotel. Food is good, building work happening at present is a pain but OK. However beware of the taxis! Essentially my son hired a minibus to pick our family up, all staying at the hotel, to attend a family event. Put simply the taxi drivers at the hotel would not allow him out without paying an imposed fine. Whilst you might argue this is not a fault of the hotel - The Hotel Staff Allowed this to happen, did not intervene or call the police. Essentially two hours of our day was spent resolving this issue. The message to the hotel and Tui - get a grip on this issue, actually call the police - rather than standing around arguing for hours. For a 5 star hotel they could take much more care of the guests! Lost two hours trying to make a trip out from the hotel!

We just returned from our holiday at the Grand Palladium Vallarta Resort & Spa. This was our first visit as a family of three. Having travelled to other all inclusives’ in Punta Cana and Cancun I can say this hotel exceeded my expectations. The hotel itself has a distinctive vibe where we felt the hotel created the ambiance of being a personal guest in their private home. At no time did we feel like another hotel guest. The hotel is set up so that meeting other guests is part of the experience. We meet many guests who will become our life long friends. Unlike other hotels there are plenty of activities for all guests. The hotel supplied three amazing surf staff EDR, ELIVIN and VICTOR who all took time to teach each of us to surf, paddle board and body surfing. What a blast. Our daughter went surfing with each of them all six days. She is still talking about how they helped her improve her skills to surf the waves. She wants to come back as a result of their kind, caring and stress-free experience. Well done gentlemen! Thank you to lifeguards ROBERTO & EDURDO who attended to my small scrap. They are attentive and well trained in their first aid skills. To the waiters MANUEL & MACARIO who made sure we were well hydrated. A huge thank you to the fitness instructors GABEY and MIRAM! For someone who has two left feet, I have finally learned how to do the Zumba! What a great feeling – thank you! To DANNY and ALEXANDRE who were dancing at the club – you two helped a lot of folks learn how to dance. You were patient and persistent in teaching everyone on the dance floor how to Salsa, Zumba and learn many other cool dance moves. I have never seen the social staff dancing at a resort before and I believe all the staff and dancers got the party started! Well done To all the staff at the buffet especially VINCENT and our captain at the buffet in the evening I apologize I don’t recall his name but he always made a point to come and say hello to us each evening. He was off on Monday evening and we never had a chance to say goodbye so please do so. The entire staff at the Mexican restaurant and the Bamboo restaurant was outstanding! We loved watching the staff make the guacamoule and the Bamboo chef who created a leaf out of wasabi. I have never received this attention to detail at any restaurant in North America. I would recommend that everyone try both restaurants. The entire executive at the Grand Palladium should be proud of how their staff is creating a very unique experience thus enhancing their brand. I have not seen this attention to detail at any other hotel except maybe Disney. All staff from the dishwashing staff, maintenance staff, housekeeping and any staff member we encountered during our stay smiled or said hello when we walked past them. Well done! We’ll be back with more family next year!

Well only 4 days in

I am here at the moment with my Mr.Gawel and I would like for others to ignore the poor reviews that are on here. Yes there is building work but you hardly hear it. The food is cooked well. Always something. The staff well nothing is to much. This is one of the reason that I feel the need to comment now. Forget tippy g they have a genuine want to help. Nothing is to much and always tentative to everyone's needs. They do not stop. Sports bar amazing. Lobby bar amazing. Those that complain obviously have nothing better to do and are nit picking so to say. I guess they are just looking for more for their mo at however to be honest you couldn't get better. Weather well so far after a few days o my one early morning shower. That's all. Hot hot hot all the way. Room 1232 which we are in for the next week and a half. Can't complain. Well I guess I will be back in a week and a half with pictures bit look forward to writing it with pictures to follow.
