The only issue we had was when leaving the hotel for the airport. We were told our shuttle would be there at 4:30am. The shuttle never arrived and we had to take a cab to the airport. While the expense was minimal ($40.00), the shuttle was part of our overall package. Other than that - the trip was great.

We would highly recommend a stay at the Grand Palladium! Apple really has their act down when it comes to transportation to and from airport and guest check in and check out. Top notch! Made our vacation even more laid back and relaxing. Thanks Apple!

the ac didn't work well in our room. the hotel conplex lost water 3 days in a row -each day was a differnet section. The buffets had no variety every meal was the same food selection every day. it was disappointing. but on the upside the staff and hotel and staff at apple guest services were amazing. we had some issues and whenever we approached them it was handled quickly, effeciently, and professionllly.

The 1st two days our ac didn’t work & they acted like we were crazy. Went to workers, front desk & Apple person!!! Guessing others complained bc on 3rd day they dug up the floor & was fixed. We were suppose to have 2 beds but only had 1 king which we let slide since ac wasn’t working!!! Then we had trouble just getting wash clothes & towels. Was told to come back later....but then entertainment was awesome!! The workers at the pool went above & beyond making all feel welcome!!!

The beach is AMAZING, and the resort itself has a number of pools that are all well maintained and have nice features like plenty of shade and hammocks. The adults pool was our favorite, since it did not have loud kids, had comfy chairs, and had daybeds as well. The food was the only downside, but you can only expect so much from an all inclusive. There was no local food whatsoever which was a bummer, and the buffets were mediocre. The only positive when it came to food was that the a la carte dinners were much better. Overall I would not do it again, but the positives of the resort and beach make up for the mediocre food. Check in was also a hassle, but all other aspects of the room were above expectations.

The first three days of my vacation were a wash. We booked and paid for a sea view jr suite at the grand palladium punta cana. We were given a no view room several buildings back from the beach facing a road. it was impossible to track down the on site apple rep I wasted three days trying to get it rectified and in the end I had to sign a waiver saying I wouldn't write a bad review for palladium to get my room changed to something remotely close to a sea view. I will tell everyone I know not to use apple and just to steer clear of the D.R. all together.

I see Expedia rating is 3.6 out of 5. About right. RESERVATION: We reserved 4 rooms, but two were allegedly unavailable in our price range, so we had to pay extra to get what we’d already paid for. ADEQUATE SUPPLY OF CHAIRS: There were plenty at the beach under umbrella trees, as well as at the pool. If you wanted a pool towel, you needed to get there before noon (or wait). BEACH: Atlantic with waves; no debris. TENNIS AVAILABILITY: Courts “for Club members only” are fine, but 3 courts for non-VIPs in poor shape: surface worn, parts peeing, fence too low, no lights. FOOD: Huge, but buffet food was often not hot. Restaurants closed without warning. They ran out of what should be staples, like passion fruit. Even fish cooked to order was tough. Coffee didn’t meet expectations, except in lobby bar. Overall, the food was mediocre. BARS: Plentiful ICE: Not always available. MINI-BAR: Re-stocked in morning, so if you sleep late, you may have to wait; fridges varied in temperature. NON-HARRASSMENT: Hotel rents space to vendors, and others prowl the beach, not to mention time-share and spa employees bothering people. Teen girls in our party detoured to avoid aggressive jewely salesmen. TV STATIONS: A large number in many languages, but not that many US. WI-FI: Spotty QUIET: The pools had the usual annoying music. Beach-goers could avoid noise. Rooms were especially quiet. STAFF: They seem to enjoy helping guests, though many don’t understand much English. CLEANING: Hotel offers a choice of cleaning times, but these aren’t honored. Some days we were cleaned in the morning, some we needed to ask the maid to do us next. GROUNDS: Nice like most resorts.. ROOM: Poorly designed. Impossible to turn on shower or Jacuzzi (in same unit) without climbing in. Rooms with 2 beds had frosted glass walls, so bathroom privacy impossible. TRANSPORTATION: A huge resort, with trams frequently circling. There are speed-bumps in their roads; what does this say about how their drives are supervised? (and they can trip you up at night) ELECTRICITY: Could shut off for short periods. WRISTBANDS: Required, apparently to keep guests out of the VIP area.. CASINO: We won on slots on our only visit I see Expedia rating is 3.6 out of 5. About right. RESERVATION: We reserved 4 rooms, but two were allegedly unavailable in our price range, so we had to pay extra to get what we’d already paid for. I was told there would be a rep at our hotel everyday... There was not. In fact, I only saw one, the day we got there. It was very disappointing. I had questions about excursions, but I was not ale to ask them due to no rep. I was told to look for the blue shirt with flowers, there was not an a rep present. I also feel like I should have been warned about the lack of people who spoke English. This would have been nice to know. Had I known that English was not valued here, I would have picked a different resort/destination. Over all my vacation was fine, the resort was very nice, the staff (even though they could not understand me) tried very hard to get me what we wanted. My disappointment is not with the resort, it's with Apple.

I've just returned from my holidays and I'd like to present my short opinion (I believe that there are so many reviews of this hotel that there is nothing special to add). I strongly recommend it. Despite the small drawbacks (such as a bit too slow check in process, problems with the flush in the toilet, a bit strange solution with a transparent wall in the toilet- there should be some curtain !, some drinks in the mini bar weren't completed daily, sometimes there was definitely too cold in the restaurants) I spent great, relaxing time. Among the things that deserve particular attention are beautiful grounds with extraordinary gardens, beach, swimming pools and great atmosphere. As for food I really recommend la Catedral restaurant, bar in Bavaro lobby and Hemingway bar. Visit in the Bhogali restaurant was a bit disappointing (decor is really nice as well as the staff but some dishes were far from original, Indian flavours). And last but not least- I' m rather not a person who takes part in games, animation activities but during this holiday I participated in the aqua aerobic. I' d like to thank Sugar (apollogies if the nickname is not correct) for a nice moments ! To sum up, Grand Palladium is a huge complex but you don't feel overwhelmed. It's an ideal place for a total relax, perfect for everyone.

1.5 stars. Will keep it to the point. The awful: Lobby/Desk staff - No one knows the policies or knows how to communicate them, leading to you, the "guest", forking over plenty of money at the end of the trip that was not at all previously discussed. Either they completely do not communicate that there is a separate charge or they explicitly tell you that an item is complementary when it is not. This must happen regularly, because the staff and drivers are trained to take your bags away from you and not give them back until the desk staff take your money from you. Stay away from the Punta Cana supervisor named Anny, if you can. Beach/Pool chairs - the majority are broken or heavily worn. I witnessed a poor older lady with swollen ankles fall out of a lounger on the beach, because her son was trying to help prop up the back of her chair that would have never been propped up because it was broken. A la carte restaurants - Dishes range from flavorless and poorly executed to mediocre. The waiting game to be seated is just that, a game. The restaurants stay virtually empty until 830 or so, then they let people in in droves. Tip: Go at 6:15pm and put your name in for that two hour wait, then go take a nap. People with reservations get priority, which are primarily obtained if you've agreed to a timeshare presentation or have already been in the resort for about a week. (We agreed to a timeshare presentation so got reservations, then backed out because they guaranteed it wouldn't be more than an hour, then admitted that it would be definitely more than an hour. They did threaten to cancel all of our dinner reservations unless we agreed to the presentation anyway. Ridiculous, rude, and good way to ruin a customer's vacation) The bad: Service - Don't bother asking for anything even slightly out of the ordinary like a clean knife, because it fell on the floor (they will be confused because you have one right there), or ask what is in the mystery smoothies (they should have pre-printed signs because they were the same everyday), or ask for the mango ginger mojito from the drink menu, which apparently they don't have and never have had. (yes, that really happened). When a bird starts eating off of your friend's plate, and you see it from afar while at the buffet, and also see the staff notice but not shoo it away and then not bother to tell you when you sit down in front of that plate. Service or person-to-person consideration is not a priority here. Cocktails at the beach or pools - they are poorly mixed and wayyyy too sweet. I was probably being too optimistic there. Stick to beer. Salespeople - They are everywhere except inside the restaurants. On the paths, at the pools, in the lobbies, on the beach. Selling timeshares, excursions, jewelry, pictures with monkeys, etc. A firm "No, thank you" usually makes them move on. As others said, be careful getting in and out of the shower. The tub was built way too high. The good: The "secret" adults only pool and the female server they have working the pool. She is delightful and works hard to keep everyone happy. The kids club and the kids pool at the Punta Cana. Definitely ideal for any child. Food options - there are a many different buffets in the entire complex of the three resorts, which serve a variety of cuisines. The food is fresh, but generally just ok in preparation. Note: all the buffets serve exactly the same food. The three to four complexes make up a very large area. It's great for morning walks of the beach or just the grounds. Cocktails at Hemingway's and in the lobbies. Top shelf alcohol and made well. The groundskeepers and maids - the resort is kept very clean and pruned.

Excellent vacation - warm, genuine staff

We stayed from January 27 - February 3.Beach - spectacular, pure joy to see the colours of the water, the waves, the sun, the soft sand.Food - pretty good, lots of variety, you can get anything custom prepared at the buffet. Excellent omelettes at breakfast, excellent crepes, pistachio ice cream and homemade waffle cones. Amazing fresh grouper grilled for you. I loved the spaghetti with mussels at the Italian restaurant and the cannoli.Staff - The most wonderful staff I have ever met, at an all-inclusive resort. Warm, genuine and thoughtful. For example, remembering what drinks we like to have for lunch, hot coffee refills at breakfast, just friendly all the time. *** The staff make all the difference ***Facilities: great gym, nice outdoor sports complex!!! so many outdoor tables to sit, relax and sip a cocktail, beautiful pathways lined with trees and flowers.
