Friendly staff, very helpful. Nice people. Nice beach, drinks are welcome and good quality. (Real coke, sprite, rum, vodka,...) Food was of good quality and yummy. Excellent desserts & cakes. Plenty of everything and every style. Very friendly staff at the buffets. Restaurants were surprisingly good. Did the Japanese (nice show!)and Chinese ones. Friendly and yummy. Did the Indian one as well a bit later and that one was also very good. Overall very clean hotel, also the rooms. Nice infrastructure and gardens. Worth an evening walk. Rooms were spacious, however the only 'minor' and the reason it did not het 5 stars. We had a junior suite. Bathroom was big but the hot tub did not work. Played around with it myself and got it to work for 5 min. Checking with the staff learned it was a known problem and so...well...live with it...But when it actually worked for 5 min it showed it was not used in a long time and I preferred to stick to showers. Which was a mess as well due to the strange choice of bathroom layout (water everywhere...). Also the room infrastructure lacked top quality. Not blocking but slightly annoying. USB ports not working, night lights hanging loose,... Didn't do justice to the overall feeling, service and quality of the hotel. We would certainly book again, but probably a more luxurious/assured quality room.

We are definitely not coming back!

Let us start with the positive ones: 1. The WiFi is a good bonus. We didn't need to use our cellphone data plan and our group was able to communicate through FB messenger and get each other updated with our whereabouts and plans for the day. 2. The security safety box that is a welcome treat because it was free of charge. 3. The A la Carte restaurants that does not have any limitations with regards to the number of reservations we can make allow us to try different menus each night. The only fall back is the Japanese tepanyaki reservation that gets fully booked as early as 7am. The best A la Carte is the Brazilian (Rodizio) and La Parilla (American) - these are the only restaurants with the best services. 4. The drinks were all ok except some drinks are too sweet - the coffee and tea are very good. 5. The amenities were all good and fun - the exercise machines in the gym were all updated. Our kids enjoyed the recreational activities that is for their age. The negative ones: 1. Customer Service - I will give them 1 🌟. Staff pass by the guests without acknowledgment of a simple "hola"! Most food servers are grumpy and unaccommodating and not hospitable at all. There was an incident where 2 food servers who was making fun of my daughter by talking among themselves and saying "ching chong chang" and looking at my daughter's way probably thinking that she is Chinese. She was in line for the fish to be cooked and here comes a Spanish guest and he was served first before her. 2. So many times and I even lost count the number of times I requested to have my son's bed replaced. It has one king size bed and one single bed. Our 3 kids and my niece were sharing that room. My youngest being the biggest (he is 6'3 in height) has to have his own bed but he doesn't fit in a single bed. My request went to deaf ears and the front desk did not even offer to change our room for our convenience and comfort of my son. 3. There was a time we were asking for directions at the front desk and one staff has to show us using the hotel map and she gave us wrong directions. She is not familiar with the hotel's locations. 4. Lost of power in our villa - there was a time where some of our group didn't have power for 10 hours. Can you imagine not having AC with temperature in the 30's, not a single update from the front desk. Our group has to call and request for updates. They did not even offer anything to make them comfortable. 5. Lost of hot water, continuous running water of the toilet, no water to flush the toilet - this is just in my room. Not once did front desk apologize in any of these inconvenience. There was a time I was so fed up that I went to the front desk and demanded to speak to the Manager, she didn't even showed her face (the nerve)! I was left to deal with my own problems. 6. Some staff does not know how to speak in English! 7. My room gets cleaned very late - almost 4pm each time 8. Some of the food are salty - specially the soup. The selections were ok but it would have been better if it was changed more often. 9. Numerous times I have reported the AC temperature in our room because it does not go down to 24. We are perspiring every night because of the humidity. Not once did they do anything about it. The only time it went down to 22 was on our last day at the resort. 10. THE BIGGEST DISAPPOINTMENT - the beach!!! In our 8 days of stay - it was only cleaned ONCE! You can see the seaweeds from the beach and shore line. Until now, me and my son are suffering from itchy hives and rashes because of this. People go to these tropical places because of the beach - this resort should do everything in their power to maintain it clean. 11. Last but not the least, almost one or 2 members in each family got sick - either with diahrrhea or flu-like symptoms.

Definitely recommend this resort

This was a great trip and very good hotel. Very good pools and beaches to hang out at. Very easy to get drinks from the bars right by the pool and beach. The room was very close to the beach and multiple pools. The one complaint I had seen on Trip Advisor before coming was that the property was too large and too spread out. That is somewhat true, it is a large, spacious property and the restaurants are spread out across the whole property. Depending on where your room is, you could be quite far from a place you'd like to go. However if you don't mind walking 10-15 minutes, you'll be fine. Here is my one complaint. In the restaurants, the service is not very good. Be prepared to wait to order and then wait for the food. Some of the staff seem to not care at all. Also, if you show up to the restaurants late for dinner, there will be long waits to get in or they may just turn you away. The buffets are pretty decent though and obviously you get the food much quicker. Definitely recommend getting a massage too. The pool in the spa is awesome

We stayed at the Adult section the Royal Suites, so I can only speak for that which was fantastic. Royal suite has their own lobby, pools, beach area and 2 exclusive restaurants. We were a group of three families with kids 18+. The kids had their own rooms & the resort accommodated our request to put our kids room beside ours. Only thing thu was that the bed was king size which is understandable since it's the adult sections. Beds were very comfortable. My sons didn't want to share a bed but there was a sofa bed & house keeping came very quickly and made it up. It must've been comfortable because my sons never complained about it. The rooms in the Royal suite section are beautiful and large. Our room had an area with a sofa and chairs making it very comfortable. We're not big drinkers but there seems to be a bar everywhere you look. And there is always someone coming to take your order and bring your drink to you. Mind you that was in the Royal Suite sections so I can't speak for the other parts of the resort. The wait staff people at the beach specially Loretta was wonderful. Always walking around asking what you would like and carrying a tray full of drinks with a smile on her face. We also had our own lobby which was air conditioned and that was so welcomed when you came in from outside. We were there the 1st week of August and had no trouble finding beds with shade. There was always lots available. No need to go early and reserve it. La Gourmet Restaurant was exclusive to the Royal Suites and was fantastic. You could order your eggs or omelet they way you wanted and they would bring it right to your table. The food was always fresh & the service was impeccable there. We also had dinner there a couple of times and the wait staff were fantastic always happy to see you. We tried a few of the restaurants as well. Mexican was okay, not fantastic but something different to try. The wait staff again were fantastic there. The Japanese was good and fun since the chef cooks the food in front of you. So really recommend that one. Again the wait staff were grt. The Brazilian is good if you want to try something different. They come around with different meets on a stick and carve it right there for you. Not the best food I've ever had but was nice to try. The Indian restaurant was very good. You don't have a lot of choices on the menu but we all loved what we ordered. We definitely would've gone back if we had time. The décor is also very lovely. They also have sports facilities like tennis, soccer & basketball which was all the way to the other end of the resort. So we had to use a golf cart to go there since it's hard to walk in that heat and sun. I guess the only negative thing would be that the resort is very large and that you need to get a rid on the golf carts if you would like to discover other parts of it. That's probably why we never made it to any of the shows and never found out where the theatres. Thank you Grand Palladium for a wonderful vacation and treating us like Royalty.
