10 year wedding anniversary at the Palladium

We were married at the Palladium 10 years ago and so we decided to celebrate our 10 year anniversary there (best decision ever)! We were there 1 week and the staff couldn’t do enough for us! We had a Mayan suite (romantic bungalow) and when we arrived, there was champagne and a cheese tray in our room. We also had chocolate covered strawberries and another bottle of champagne delivered after Fermin Peraza found out it was our anniversary. Thank you. We were also surprised by 2 absolutely amazing suppers. Celia Benito Andres planned a romantic dinner for 2 for us at the cenote. We had our own wait staff, a special supper and she even arranged a Mayan blessing for us. She is one of the most thoughtful and kindest people we have ever met. Nowhere have we traveled has a manager ever taken such personal care of us. Another amazing person we met is Diego. He is the manager at the El Goucho restaurant. When e found out it was our anniversary, he planned a special 7 course dinner just for us. He picked every dish himself. Amazing! We were treated so well, it was unbelievable. I didn’t think the Palladium could do any better than our wedding, but I think our anniversary took the cake! If you want a resort that treats you better than family, this is the place.

A lovely relaxing week in Riviera Maya

Goal of vacation: Lots of sun, sand and sea, plentiful frosty beverages, good food and some Yucatan sightseeing. Our goal was met in fine style by the Grand Palladium Kantenah! From friendly, fast, efficient checkin, that got us to our room quickly, to the lovely beach, the spacious pools and those desirable frosty beverages, the whole family had a great time. We grazed the buffets at will, spent quite a bit of time in the water and had the kind of relaxing vacation we needed. Really, there were no significant complaints about the facilities, the food, the beverages ... and definitely no complaints about the staff, who were always helpful and friendly. Really, the only problem is that we had to leave. Oh, and there was a WiFi issue in our room for a couple of days, but seriously, you come to a place like this to disconnect. The villas that comprise the resort are fairly spread out, so those who do not like to walk may want to ask for rooms closer to the lobby buildings. We had no problem, especially since the walk gave us a chance to walk off our buffet over-grazing. Plus the walk through the mangrove mangles let us take in some native wildlife. There are three hotels in the complex, the Kantenah, the Colonial and the White Sands, with a fourth adults-only hotel, the TRS. This gave us options when it came to dining, entertainment or pools. We tended to stay at the Kantenah and Colonial, since everything we needed was in the two very close hotel lobbies. If you want a Riviera Maya vacation with no worries and an excess of fun and relaxation, you'll do well to book your vacation at the Grand Palladium.

this is a great resort that offers many options for relaxing: large pool with swim up bar, kids pool with water slides, small quiet pools for adult relaxing, great bar services, over a dozen restaurants and buffets, and all facilities are very clean. food was great and a very large selection. We have been there before and will definitely bed coming back.

Great overall visit!!

This was my first all-inclusive experience. Overall, it was very good. The grounds are beautiful and the staff was great. They work very hard and could be seen in the am working and then later in the evenings as well...with smiles and willing to do anything you ask. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food at the different restaurants after hearing that most all-inclusive food is not very good. As a foodie, I was happy most of the time. I would say that some of the food at the breakfast buffet had been sitting out for quite a while though. The drinks and variety was also generally quite good. Our room was clean and quiet, but the mattress seemed a bit tired and the beds were small doubles and not queens as I would have preferred. The beach was nice and large so getting chairs was not a problem. However, most of the area was very rocky so going in the water was difficult. Also seaweed was a problem and there was a crew constantly working at removing it. Activities were plentiful but I found that the schedule on the app was not always correct and with grounds so large, it was difficult to know everything going on. An activity highlight was yoga and the stretching classes at the beach. ALEXIA, the yoga instructor, was EXCELLENT and her classes were a great way to start each day. She had great energy!! Only wish we found her morning class at the spa earlier in the week.

Great family vacation enjoyed here and dietary needs looked after!

Air Transat Pckage. Arrival- arriving in Cancun we located our transfer vehicle. It was nice to have a van with a few people vs a bus stopping at numerous resorts. We asked the driver to pull over at a gas station for beverages. About a 45 min drive from airport to Grand Palladium complex. Check in was a breeze and we were explained the dietary card program. Excellent program by the way. More later. Shuttled to our rooms and shown rooms by bell boys. The rooms are in 3 story villa buildings housing several rooms per. The buildings are dotted throughout the property and you access the main buildings with the lobby and connected restaurants etc. The basic rooms here all have outdoor space and your view is of lush greenery. Provides a jungle like peaceful setting. Rooms are large and appointed with mini fridge, coffee makers etc. Pools/Beach/food - you have access to several other facilities within the property. The GP Colonial shares the main interior building. Restaurants are on both the Kanetah and Colonial side. Two hotels properties join up at the main pool. It’s huge. Swim up bar and separate kids pool area with slides and toys etc. The pool area is busy until Mid afternoon and serviced by bar staff until late afternoon daily. There are bathrooms well located around the pool area and between the pool and beach etc. You also have access to GP White Sands pools and restaurants and bars and beach area too. It’s another huge pool area. From this pool area there is no ocean view but it’s surrounded by a water lagoon system and some rooms are in small villa buildings like Kanetah and Colonial and some rooms are perched over the water and have boat access. Between these 3 hotels there are several small pools dotted throughout the property and one very tucked away adults only quiet pool. There is one other hotel on the property and it’s The high end hotel TRS. I can’t comment on this hotel and it’s amenities. We never made it there. We really enjoyed the exoloring and spending time at different pools and beach areas. If you are very mobility challenged or don’t enjoy walking long distances they do have shuttle Services most places, but the spaces between drop off points and entry points might be a bit much for some? All public spaces were all well appointed and well kept. The food was good to great. Breakfast buffet was the least enjoyable. Lunch buffets offered plenty but the evening food was the highlight we ate at different a la Carte all but one night. The service was never bad and dining spaces were very well appointed. Plenty of attention to dietary options. Servers and chefs showed genuine care and knowledge of Celiac disease and gluten free options. I even had a gluten free pizza made to Order! Beach - the only downside or negative was the beach. I understand the area is a huge coral reef, however this means the beach is a rocky and entry into the ocean is tricky. This didn’t stop us from playing in the ocean but it kept a lot of people out of the ocean etc. Also at some places on the beach there are some washed out areas etc. Never had a problem finding beach chairs though. Overall it’s a very nice place with lots of amenity options etc.
