Kids Club is excellent

We thoroughly enjoyed 2 weeks here. We had 2 children with us (8 and 9) and they had a great time. The pool was not too deep for them and the resort restaurants and staff all catered for them well. They especially enjoyed the kids club. They could select from a range of activities and come and go as they pleased (as long as they were collected by a member of our party) and get as involved as they wanted to. All the staff knew their names and went out of their way to say hello if they saw them around the hotel. Tessie was particularly engaging and was instrumental in making the children feel at home, confident and safe.

I stayed at the hotel from 1-15 august 2017 and I could not fault the hotel in any way. We were a party of 8 which included 3 children and there was something for every one. The A la Carte restaurants started to get busy at 7:30-8 which meant that there was a 45 minute wait which didn't bother us so it was enough time to grab a drink in the Infinity bar and soak up the amazing sunset. The variety of restaurants caters for everyone and although we had 3 children with us, they ate off the adult menus. The children's menu is used throughout all the a la carte restaurants so if you are travelling with children who don't like seafood for example don't let that stop you indulging as the kids can still order a spaghetti bolognese! The staff were so friendly, accommodating and above all honest. I left my kindle by the sun beds around the pool in the hurry of scurrying away from the rain and the pool attendant handed it in, I never did find out his/ her name but I'm very grateful! The children in our party used the mini club where the ladies there were absolutely amazing and clearly loved working with the kids! Thank you to Tessy and Candy the kids certainly took a shine to you and will miss you! The hotel entertainment was average, I found the content of the dancing shows very repetitive although the dancers are amazing and work so hard as I had seen them rehearse every day in full costume in the heat during the day. The pre- entertainment is well worth getting involved in- I won a free full body massage! Talking of the massage, I would never have thought to go to the spa but it was fabulous. I had a full body massage and the lady I had was very good and made me feel at total ease and even more relaxed! Also included were the non motorised water sports by sunset cove. We used the pedalo and kayaks and the kids loved it. I also highly recommend the jerk hut on this beach! Amazing food. The rooms were cleaned every day providing us with fresh bedding and towels and the maid was very accommodating when we were in the room if there was a rainy afternoon. We booked ricks cafe, dolphin cove and chukka. All three excursions well worth doing! All in all an amazing holiday and can't wait to return! Thank you Grand Palladium!

We have just returned from a fantastic family trip to the grand palladium. My parents and kids have never been on a long haul before so it was abit daunting for them but the hotel and its staff made it our most enjoyable holiday. The food rooms pool and beach was amazing but in particular the kids club was brilliant my kids couldn't wait to go and see tessie and the team each day the activities was very varied and and shows were well thought out. Can't wait to visit again

We celebrated my husband's birthday and the 22nd anniversary of the youngest son and his wife. We were upgraded because of this and our room overlooked the sea and I loved hearing the sound of the sea crashing on the shore. Our room included a Jacuzzi which we didn't use. There were 7 restaurants and we enjoyed the buffet 3 nights, the Grill (steakhouse) 2 nights and the Italian restaurant 2 evenings. The waiter in the Italian restaurant went to another restaurant to get us ice cream for dessert. The food was plentiful and delicious at all restaurants and the buffet had numerous choices including flavored coffees. You can't make reservations so you put your room number in and they call out your number when you can be seated. Our room was at the end of a line of buildings so we used the shuttle to take us to dinner and the pool. The pool was enormous and never crowded. We loved the huts by the pool and never had trouble finding one. The pool was occasionally closed for a few hours when someone became ill in it. Our shower was extra large and the AC worked so well we slept under an extra blanket in our king-sized bed. We tried changing the temperature but were unable to. Sheets are changed every 3 days unless you request more frequent changing. Bath towels are HUGE. We were given a card to obtain a beach towel and the card was returned when we returned the towel and there is a $20 charge if you lose the card. The shops were overpriced. There was a pull out towel rack on our patio that we used for drying our swimsuits. There was no clock in the room. Guards were always in sight and there was a guardhouse not far from our room. We would see them walking by as they changed locations. This was the first hotel we have stayed in where we needed the shuttle to transport us and they ran about every 15 minutes and would hold up to a dozen people. We were in building 18 at the far end of the resort. The only woman driver was especially thoughtful at delivering us to a location for the pool and the buffet as she would back down the hill to unload us at the drive we needed. Our "fridge" was kept stocked with various drinks that were included. We were given about 6 bottles of shampoo, conditioner and lotion and they were replaced as we needed. Our building had 3 floors but there is no elevator. We were on the first floor and the rooms surrounded a atrium that was lovely. About a dozen performers worked very hard every evening in the theater to entertain us. There were 2 huge overhead commercial fans in the open air theater that were turned on for the show so we were never uncomfortable. We could use the other hotel at the resort and they had kayaks and the kids rented a sailboat for 20 minutes for $35 and really enjoyed it. We were to leave at 7 AM but the Apple rep never turned us in and I had gone to their desk 3 times asking if we could leave later for our 11:30 flight. She said we had to leave at 7 AM but obviously never reported us for a bus as we were waiting from 6:45 and by 8 AM we took a cab to the airport. The driver from the hotel was greedy and wanted a large tip for a $65. trip. He said we could just tip him and he'd get his money from the company. We gave him $40 from the two families but we could also have gotten the money for the trip from Apple (called Amster or something close to that name at the hotel). We thought it would be easier than trying to get our cab money but there was a Apple rep in the airport who looked us up and evidently would have given us the cost of the taxi. Our mistake!

Excellent with accomodating food allergies, great food selection. Beautiful 5 star resort but Poor service.

Pros: Beauttiful resort but in need of some tlc in certain areas. Views from our room 1606 on the first floor, size of the room, water sports, segway for $35 hour, selection of restaurants, great food. Great Service with accomodating food allergy to nuts and peanuts all you do is show the allergy card they provided us to the servers and the chef comes personally to your table! My son ate at the buffets, the Poseidon and the Italian Restaurant and even ordered room service. My husband and I went to the Indian restaurant and The staff at the Indian restaurant were Amazing, they were so friendly and professional. The Italian restaurant was very slow ( we were there for 2 hours) but the food was good. The general manager should use the staff at the Indian restauarnt to train the others at the resort. My son enjoyed the video game room, the pools and the food. My husband and I loved the sailing and Roane on the beach was so helpful and had a great personality. Cons: 90% Miserable staff who are not friendly at all and are rude. If you ask many of them a question, they ignore you, they don't smile and they don't respond most of the time. It is rather stranger because we have been to many islands and many all inclusive and have never experienced this before. This was our 6th time to Jamaica but our first time at this resort. We had a great vacation in spite of the cons because we tried to focus on the positives. I wish management will take more pride in training the staff to provide great service and to put a smile on their faces.
