Nice family resort

This property is perfect for families with kids, lots of activities, a kids pool, and lots of wildlife to amuse them. The grounds were amazing, green, gorgeous, and well kept. The main pool is pretty deep, but still nice. The beach is average, but easy to walk. Service at the pool/beach was a little below average. The servers hustled very hard, but they had too much ground to cover. You can tell the quality of service by the number of people walking up to order drinks at the bars....there was always lots of people lined up trying to order drinks here. The rooms were fine...except the beds are small! Housekeeping was prompt and efficient. Food wise, we found lots of choices and enjoyed many meals at their variously restaurants. The breakfast buffet was one of the best that we have experienced! Overall we would definitely come back, especially if we were traveling with children. Thank you to all the hard workers at the GPC who made our vacation so enjoyable!

Just returned from a 2 week stay at the Grand Palladium resort, which was fantastic. The resort is made up of 3 different hotels interlinked with walkways mostly covered, through the jungle. These walks are very short with some amazing wildlife. Or you can jump on the many golf buggy type cars that run constantly around the site. The staff are very friendly, apart from the odd one or two ( grumpies). The food was excellent with a choice of buffet or Al a Carte. The choice on offer is so varied, we never found ourselves wanting for anything. The bedrooms concist of seperate 3 story Villa blocks, which can get noisey at times, especially if you have children in adjoining rooms as we did. You can opt for adult only rooms, which are additional cost. The swimming pools are great, loads of loungers with the bar staff walking round to take you orders. Special thanks to Jorge who was excellent at this. The beach is a short walk from the pool, which also had loads of loungers and is kept in an excellent state. The sea life is amazing, just waist deep you get loads of fish swimming around you. The hotel provide free snorkeling equipment, paddle boats & Kayaks for you to use as often as you want (max 1 hour per time) you need to leave them ID so take a driving licence. Bathing towels are also provided free, which you can exchange if needed for use by pool or beach. We found the resort catered for everyone, quiet areas, adult only, childrens great play area, or sports was all available. You will also have the option to go on several excursions, which be warned are expensive, but well worth it. Coco Bongo is a fantastic night out, you will never forget (Cerque Du Soleil mixed with night club). Snorkeling with Turtles was also amazing. We 100 % loved our time here & are planning to return as soon as possible. Excellent value for money.

We flew with Air Transat and stayed in a lovely Colonial Mayan Suite. The view from our room was jungle. With that came lots of bird song to enjoy. Since our winters are long and cold time spent on the balcony listening to them was incredibly peaceful and most welcome. We have been to the resort many times and were given gold bracelets at check in. This is a perk we are so grateful for. Thank you to the Palladium for recognizing their loyal repeat guests. We were so excited to visit the new TRS Yucatan and see all of the changes. I have to tell you that even though not all projects were 100% complete, we were so impressed. The amount of work that had happened in 4 or 5 months, with an active hurricane season, was amazing. The new infinity pool is breathtaking and will only get better as the trees and gardens mature. There are 2 bars and the Helios Beach club to provide guests with snacks, drinks, and meals. You would not have to leave if that was your choice. We enjoyed a few mornings lounging on the comfy chairs here during our visit. We found the new umbrellas a bit of a challenge to open the first time, once you figure it out it gets easier. We are beach loving people so try spend as much time as we can there, we love the Colonial Kantenah beach area. This beach is long and varied with both areas for swiming and snorkeling. There is no beach access for swimming on the TRS Yucatan end of the resort complex . We enjoyed all of our dining experiences, trying the new TRS offerings was a fun treat. The food and service is top notch. It is great through out the resort complex but the new TRS is a step above. IMO. Chic Cabaret is an amazing dinner show. We had so much fun this evening. If you have the opportunity to go to this show, while visiting the GPRM or TRS Yucatan, you should. The food could use improvement here but the experience as a whole can’t be beat, as far as resort entertainment goes. Thank you to all of the Palladium people who work so hard to make our vacations all that they can be. If you have any questions I would be happy to answer. Happy Travels ! A side note for those who book private transfers when you have an included one with your vacation package; make sure to let your tour company rep at the airport know. We waited and wasted an hour and a half at the airport while they tried tracking a couple down. There 6 upset people who could have had that much more time at the resort. Shame on those who are so inconsiderate of others.

Great for young families

Stayed here for 2 weeks with our 1 and 3 year old. The water park was great and the staff their are all hard working and always smiling. Brenda was and the rest at the kid clubs were awesome and the kids had so much fun. We miss you Brenda!!! Dario made sure we were driven back to our room safely every evening. Daniel works at the pool bar and always had my drink ready with a smile. The pools are big and plenty of chairs by the pool. I am 5'7 and found the pool slighty to deep for me. The beach is close to the resort but a bit rocky, plenty of chairs. The rooms we had issued with ants most days in our rooms so maybe someone needs to clean a bit better. The food wasn't the best we have had it was either cold or some cases overdone. I think they really need to work harder at this problem. The buffet line ups to get in were always long and I don't really understand why that was expect for dinner when it was always empty because the food wasn't the greatest unless you are into overcooked pizza and fries. We did eat at the Japanese restaurant which was good and that's about all the kids would eat. Mesquites are everywhere in the evening they drive around in a truck spraying a chemical which does't help. Yes I know they can't help it but it's good to know you may not want to stay here if that bothers you. Even though most people were amazing here I did find some of the management just didn't seem care. One actually when asked for Ketchup tried to pass off bbq sauce as ketchup and then proceeded to tell me I was wrong. I was really a piss off especially when it was towards the end of our trip.

Love this place

Lovely place which is very big with plenty going on. With 4 receptions, 14 restaurants and 19 bars plus themed pop up bars they set up in receptions of a night which one night would be all different gins, another night whisky's, martinis to name but a few and were all branded. Alfonso who worked the bars was very professional and made amazing drinks. Restaurants: Having visited all the restaurants our favourite was ribs and more which we visited 3 times as the service and food was outstanding. The Italian and Brazilian were a bit of a let down as the Italian food was cold and the Brazilian was a let down due to poor service. The main buffet restaurants were good but the hacienda buffet had more choice than the Tikal buffet and the buffet at white sands was beautiful and definitely recommend you try the White sands buffet. Some staff at some of the restaurants are friendlier than others Estafaneria was really helpful, one waiter told me they had no decaf coffee and wouldn't have any for some days but another waiter got me some just five minutes later. All the hosts at each restaurant are very helpful and friendly. We only had to prebook the sumptouri restaurant where you have the show cooking, this is definitely worth going to. Pool: Lovely pools with plenty to choose from, we generally did the beach and adults pools again both bar tenders were excellent at the adult pools. Entertainment : Plenty of things to do and always live entertainment on in bars and restaurants in the day and of an evening. The nightly shows in the theatre were really good and all the entertainers practice long hours and work really hard to provide such professional shows. Our favourite was the young man and lady in the bowl diving into the water. We also enjoyed the 60's themed evening with the disco and heart balloons & dancers. There is always something to do. The colonial lobby was the busiest of an evening and as soon as the theatre finished there was always a live act on in the colonial lobby. If you wanted a quieter evening you could visit the Kantenah reception or white sands. We had a few evenings at the white sands, there were only a handful of people there and the service from Rosa was the best, she is so friendly and jovial and cannot do enough for you. We went into playa del Carmen one night by taxi which cost 400 Mexican pesos but coming back they wanted to charge us 700 as we started to walk away they agreed to do it for 500. Lots of shops and bars, not what we expected but a great experience. We ate in a restaurant there and the service and food was fantastic. Lots of wildlife in the resort which I must admit I was apprehensive about prior to our trip but I loved it. We definitely would recommend this holiday.
