Very good place, yet full of very dissapointing experiences

First thing to notice when you came in the resort is how beautiful the gardens and how huge they are. Really well maintained fauna in the resort, just staggering! Second thing I was pleased was the good english on the reception, giving me hope that may be other personel will speak as well, proving myself wrong afterwards.      Then we came in our room which was as expected from the photos we saw on their website, quite nice and very large and spacious! In most hotels in Europe the whole room is smaller than the bathroom in our room in the hotel ! But apparantly maybe 1 or 2 weeks ago they refurbished some part of the room and throughout our stay (1 week) really bad smeel of recently painted room was everywhere, which in my book is nowhere near 5 star hotel experience. Other than this everything else with the room was fine.      Then in the first morning we decide to go to the nearesr pool (it's a huge resort i think there are 8 of them), but for our dissapointment there were no free bedchairs, most of them with a towel on them and only like 30% were really occupied. Later we learnt that people get up early like 7-8am, go to pools and put their towels on the bedchairs for some kind of reservation and afterwarda they come to the pool whenever they want. Maybe even they don't come the whole day,  just come in the evening to pick up their towels. So we learnt that if we want a nice bedchairs on the pool we need to get up early and "fight" for them. This is just humiliating, for Gods sake this is a 5 star all inclusive hotel and you have to do tricks in order to have bedchair on the pool. This is ridiculous! Still there is place on the beach for those like us who can't reserve bedchair in 7am.      The service at the pool was not great to say the least. If you are lucky you will be serviced once every hour. Imagine you order a beer, they give you one (only one choice of beer in the resort, so if you don't like it - no beer for you) but it is served in a small cup, no more than 200ml, so 1 hour is eternity for such a small amount. Other than that they have only 1 cup style doesnt matter what you order not very 5 starish either. The quality of other liquids in the bar is questionable as well, but I guess this is more personal preference. For me was mostly fine. Animation on the pool was good enough in my opinion.     The resort advertises 8 a la carte restaurants and this is true. But what you don't being said is that there is thousands ot people who want to go to these 8 restaurants where you can get proper serving not buffet style. So first night we were told no reservations possible and when we go to the restaurant there was approximately 90 minute queue...so that more than dissapointment for me. We were also told to came the next day at 6pm to be seated immediately. That wasn't tha case. We were there at 5:55pm, despite being very early for dinner we were eager to try the cuisine, and there were about 50 people in the queue waiting 6pm for the restaurant to open doors. About 6:20 we were seated. I felt like I have been treated like some sort of pig. For me to wait like this in 5 star hotel is ridiculous. So despite there are 8 a la carte restaurants they are nowhere near enough. Otherwise the buffet has always free tables and has some good food. As a whole not dissapointed from the cuisine. Mostly from serving point of view they are disastrous.      As I said, earlier like 90% of the staff do not speak english or if they speak they know like 6 or 7 words. So we have hard time understanding each other, this offcourse provide worse experience for us. So if you don't speak Spanish be prepared not to communicate much.      I said some of the weak points of the hotel, but don't get me wrong there is alot to like in the resort. Prety much everything else was on spot! But there was some big issues I want to help them solve them, that's why I'm writing this much, so they can provide better service! I want to apologise for my bad language as English not my native language. I'm from Bulgaria

Amazing place!

Food is VERY good. Service is pretty good. Third trip here...still à GREAT vacation. However some young male need to improve their clients relationship . They need more training. They have too much attitude . Just let them know they are selling their country image so they might be more friendly. The ladies like corinna, gerardina are very friendly . We also cannot forget Hector a True professional and the hemingway team very professional oriented and so nice people. Have a nice day. Ps: perhaps see you next year .

first time at the grand palladium bavaro here in punta cana. overall was a positive experience. the food at the a la carte was superb. the brazillian restaurant was by far our favourite. the spanish restaurant was also really good. both i would highly recommend. we came here with our 2 year old daughter and we chose this particular resort because of their kids water park. this overall was a great feature for a wonderful family vacation. Jokairi good job
