Before I go into my rant, let me first say that I realize that everyone has different vacation preferences, goals, and expectations. My girlfriend and I have three goals for this vacation: eat, drink, and swim. The swimming was the only thing we managed to enjoy. This was our first trip to the Dominican Republic and our first experience with an all-inclusive resort. Upon our arrival to the resort at around 1:30pm, we were told that our room would not be ready until 3:00pm. There was no budging on the time. The resort complex is ridiculously huge. It's more like a small village. We stayed in the Bavaro section of the resort and our room was a 10 minute walk from the beach and a 5 minute walk to the buffet. Nothing was easy to get to. The shuttles/tram only come around every 20 - 30 minutes. Be prepared to wait/walk. The food was mediocre and flavorless. We were led to believe that food and drinks would be served in some form 24 hours a day. It's not. Breakfast is during limited hours, lunch is during limited hours, dinner is during limited hours, and room service is during limited hours. If you're hungry between those hours (which we were a lot) be prepared to starve and wait. The resort staff were some of the most unhelpful, unwelcoming, rude, and unknowledgable hotel employees I've ever encountered anywhere. The first time we ordered room service we ended up ordering it 3 different times and waited 3 hours for it to arrive. It was stone cold. The vendors in and around the resort, and especially on the beach are highly aggressive and are not shy about dragging you to their tables to sell you their wares. Asking for help is nearly futile. No one knows anything other than what their profession entails. We felt we were constantly stared at, made fun of, and blamed for any number of random things. Just because we didn't speak the language doesn't mean that we didn't know what was being said about us. It was very clear what the opinion of "Americanos" is. Nothing was every fully explained. We were handed our room keys and a map and basically left to fend for ourselves. The mini bar had 2 waters, 3 beers, and a few sodas. These drink are not nearly enough to stay hydrated and are only refilled once daily if you're lucky no matter how much you begin. For what we paid for this vacation, we felt that we did not get the service, treatment, or food quality we expected. If you're like us, and just want to relax on your vacation, this is not the place for you. You can be near the beach, near the lobby, near the restaurants, or near a pool, but you can't be near all of it. For us, weren't close to anything. Be very mindful of your room location and it's proximity to what you're interested in. The beach was beautiful and amazing. Everything you imagine a Caribbean beach should be. But that being said, it's likely you could find a similar beach at any other Caribbean resort. The snorkeling/swimming with sharks excursion was well worth the money. It was the highlight of the trip. I would definitely NOT ever stay here again and I would be extremely reluctant to stay at any other Palladium-owned resort. We learned some valuable lessons. More>

I came to this hotel on sunday afternoon the checking was really fast. The food at the resort is really nice and tastefull, i love the sport bar like a lot, the sportbar burger is amazing, the enviroment at the same sportbar is great, the room was amazin as well, is big and we had everything that we needed. There is a lot of shade at the pool in case you dont want the sun, and the service with the staff is amazin. Also we spoke with corina from rr.pp department she was very nice and friendly to ask how we were doing at hotel, very professional and kind, really liked her actitude, we are coming back on october to this hotel 5 stars. We have been here for five days, it's been horrible. They have a beautiful beach, glorious weather, golden sands, all you would expect from this destination, BUT it is then ruined by the unhelpful, miserable and downright rude staff! Food is same everyday and cold, you can have champagne for breakfast but not with your evening meal, expect nothing you report to ever get fixed or replaced and don't expect to be served straight away, rude rude rude, unhelpful. I will never ever recommend or stay here again. Tbc More>
