Hotel was ok, the combination of two hotels with small pool areas and small restaurants is not great. It would have been a great vacation except for a few things. As I stated the restaurants were small and you had to weight in line to be seated. Couldn't get a reservation at one of the restaurants because they only took reservations at 4:00 pm. And within 5 minutes the capacity was taken. They elevators wee horrible and you had to wait it seemed like hours for the elevator. Took the stairs from the room most of the time. I loved our trip to Cancun but would definitely stay at an different hotel. Room and view were amazing. They also did not have balconies

Our wedding was a complete nightmare. We visit MX every year and this was by far the worst travel experience in my life. 2 day’s into our trip I realized we were not receiving certain perks that we had purchased with our $2,300 US Dollar wedding package (Not including the thousands spent on air fare and hotel). We spoke to concierge and were told that the wedding department never informed the resort of our wedding (2 days before our wedding). Most of the 33 items listed in our wedding package did not exist or simply didn’t happen. We were totally bait and switched upon arrival. We were treated TERRIBLE by the staff. No one would allow us to speak to a manager the entire stay. The room was small and smelled of mildew. I chose this resort because it was “family friendly” for the flower girl. We all left vomiting for days with a terrible viral stomach infection. Wedding Package: · AUTO Smart for the wedding.* · VIP Bracelet for wedding couple. Elevators were horrible

Elevators were horrible, always getting stuck. Very slow could not Elevators were horrible! Always getting stuck! Very slow could not accommodate guest,always a line. We found only 2 restraints to eat, the others were not very good. The beach with hammocks were great, pools were great! We still had a great time!! The worst was the elevators.So if u are on low level would not be bad for the price!!

The hotel was OK. Food was only fair. While at the beach or pool, was hard to find a server to take our drink orders. The staff was not as friendly as I would have hoped. I would probably not go back to this hotel in the future. Was OK for the price.

I was supposed to meet with Mr Santos on the next day after my arrival went there no was there from APPLE tried the next day still nobody I had to have someone call the contract number talked with someone they said the rep would contact me in the morning he didn't. I went over again he was there made my return time and that was it. Everything i ask her said go to hotel desk for expect swimming with the dolphins. I was under the expression he was going to help me out.

Telemarketers at the lobby pretend to be hotel concierge and their uniforms doesn't say the hotels name. They offer hotel free packages but the truth it's a timeshare presentation. They keep on asking us every morning at the lobby and it's very annoying. They are like those telemarketers at Cancun airport.

Only complaint is the elevator. Its so small and can only fit four people. It stops at almost every floor. So you have to wait another 5-10 mins for the next one.

We were pretty disappointed in this resort. It seemed like the very basic stuff was included and if you wanted anything extra it was for more money. The beach sucked. IT was only .5 miles long and from the edge of the resort to the water edge was about 150 feet. The food was okay there just wasn't enough of it. We were always hungry. The rooms were so noisy that we didn't sleep for the 4 nights we were there. Our concierge was very uninformed about what was and wasn't offered as part of the all inclusive package. We will never go back to this resort.

I'm a bit surprised Apple Vacations would offer this hotel. There are 2 very small elevators of which 1 was constantly broke. 2 small womens restroom stalls near the pool, always out of toilet paper or hand wipes. Long lines for snack bar and drinks, frequently out of towels. Electricity went out for 1.75 hours Sunday night, room got very hot and stuffy. The recessed light in the shower fell out of the ceiling while I was in the shower, no caps on electrical joints. Will not return to this resort.

We arrived to Grand Oasis Palm in a evening and had been denied to be excepted, because, according to the manager, Apple Vacation canceled our reservation. He told us that we can leave or he can move us to other hotel. We booked this hotel with a purpose to celebrate Christmas with our grand kids in a area of calm ocean and kids friendly environment. We had no opportunity but to be moved to Grand Oasis Cancun. The hotel was fine, but the ocean was very rough and we were not able even to get close to the ocean. The next morning we visited the Apple Vacation representative Eric Monpain. In our 20 years of traveling we never met anybody more helpful than him. He spend two days in a phone trying to get us back to Grand Oasis Palm overcoming the resistance of the management of the hotel. They insisted that it was Apple Vacation fault not theirs. Eventually, they let us to come back after we wasted almost 3 days of our 7 days vacation. We would like this incident to be investigated by Apple Vacation and if it is really Apple Vacation fault, we need to be compensated for the lost time. We would like to recognize Eric Monpain for his exceptional professionalism and dedication. He is the one who let us enjoy the rest of our vacation.

While the hotel had wonderful rooms, the food was sub-par. The service at the bars were great. The beach was very crowded and the pool was small. There were only 2 elevators and it caused an issue anytime we wanted to leave or return to our rooms.

Ok, I'm here last day of my vacation and I must write a review. I chose this hotel because online and several reviews raved about the kids club. I have 2 children age 3 & 4 so this resort I thought was going to be perfect for me and my husband to get some alone time.... Not quite! The kids club is open from 9am - 9:45pm, u sign in and you are not allowed to leave the resort and u MUST put the location of where you will be in the resort. In addition, they request for you to come check on ur child every 30mins to 1hour! Which is CRAZY! How do I have a romantic dinner with my husband?! It takes at least 30mins just to be seated and drinks to be ordered. On several occasions they went to look for me and my husband because per them "my daughter was crying because she said she was hungry" mind you they feed the kids lunch and dinner. My child picks over her food then play, then picks some more then play, so I don't understand if she was crying for food why didn't they just give her some. Another time they went to the beach to find us becuz my daughter was crying again and per them she was crying because she spilled food on her dress" .... We used the kids club 4 times and 3 times they came to find us becuz my daughter was crying for a fixable reason. They are children, sometimes they cry....and per the front desk young lady, if my daughter cries again she can not stay at the kids club. They have a cool playground but the children at the kids club can't use it. Only if accompanied with parents. On a positive note, they have good activities for them, cookie decorating class, lil clown shows, pool party. I'm funny about my kids being in water without me being present but they had a pretty attentive life guard on duty. They do feed the kids lunch and dinner and all the ladies are nice. They also show a movie at nightly, but shown in Spanish so my kids didn't understand it. Also they are not allowed to touch the kids so no help to bathroom nor changing after pool party, I had to do it. My 3 year old still requires assistance to help with potty'n and changing...just a lil help. I have brought my children to Cancun before and other resorts do not have such ridiculous rules if checking in every 30mins -1hr.... especially when it will take u 15 mins to walk to one side from the other. And they let u leave to go on an excursion. We tried to utilize the babysitting services since the kids club wouldn't allow us to leave off property and unfortunately I lost money on my excursion I prebooked because they must have at least 24hrs notice. The girl wouldn't check to see if someone would be willing...she just said sorry those are the rules. And FYI it is 15bucks per kid per hour... I have 2 kids... So 30 bucks per hr which is quite expensive. This resort has an issue with running out of food. On 3 different occasions they ran out of something. 1st night our flight was extremely delayed. We arrived late. I ordered room service around 12 am and they had ran out of several items. 2nd time we boarded captain hooks pirate ship, everyone got food except about 25 of us. I questioned about the food cuz my kids wanted some, they told me they ran out and offered me ice cream. 3rd time was at the snack bar, got the nachos and they ran out of the chili. My room was very small no room for kids to enjoy or move around but was adequate. They charged us 175 pesos per room service order. The cleaning ladies we good fresh lining and towels. Maki Taco was very good. Almost walked out after looking at the menu but one waiter convinced us to stay and I'm glad we tried it. Raquel, waiter was Excellent and Luis was Good. La Bamba restaurant was horrible! I mean horrible! We paid extra for 2 lobsters, wasn't good at all, it was a rock lobster, I paid extra for fried shrimp, they grilled it in a pan and called it fried ...was not a pleasant experience And excited about the seafood menu. Agave tacos was really good. I enjoyed trying the different tacos, would appreciate if they had queso to go along with the menu. Best bar is the sports bar, nice drinks. Nice bartender. Hamburgers at the snack bar is disgusting. They need more adult entertainment. Was bored on several occasions. I would appreciate if someone from the hotel got back with me about my concerns. As of now I can NOT recommend this hotel

The whole Cancun area is full of hotels from the moment you get off the plane till the end of the strip! However this hotel is on the quiet side with calm waters and absolutely stunning views! When we booked we made sure to get a room with a sofa bed. Upon check in we found out that was not the case. I checked with front desk and they very politely informed me that the original room that I booked is in the renovation zone where the elevators are not working and it's pretty loud (we were travelling with our 4 year old daughter and an 8 month old son) the front desk than asked if they could set up an extra bed in our room to help! Boom. Problem solved within minutes. We had gorgeous views of the waters and Captain Hook ship. However at night it gets pretty loud due to the partying on the ship but we had brought noise machines with us and they sealed out all the noise from the outside. The sink got clogged a couple times and it took us a few phone calls to get it fixed (same with the toilet) but everyone was very polite and courteous and tried to help as fast as they could. It's a huge resort and so water pressure in the showers can be a problem. Also the temperature of water went from luke warm to hot and back to luke warm the entire time we would shower (so we ended up standing away from the shower while bathing to make sure we didn't get burned). They have a few pools but being right on the beach we really didn't use the pools (they were very nice and spacious). The beach has ample seating area and a towel hut! The kids club was a hit with our 4 year old. They had some thing for every one and took very good care of our daughter. There was plenty of eating options at the resort along with a snack shack at the beach! We went to Maki Taco (ahmazing sushi!!!) Los Agaves (they had delicious tortas and tacos for lunch and very authentic dishes for dinner) we also went to the seafood restaurant and that was good too! There's a coffee shop just for the Grand oasis customers and the coffee is great with lots of options. Fresh coffee every morning!! There's also a Tequila bar again only for Grand Oasis people. The customer service is beyond amazing and everyone greets you . Gives you a very warm and welcoming feeling. This property is also gated and very safe! We took a bus ride into the downtown area to get some souvenirs. Again the front desk was very helpful to guide us! Premade drinks were as expected watered down However if you ask they'll make fresh drinks to your taste. Overall we had a wonderful stay there and will surely come back.

We stayed at the Grand Oasis Palm over Christmas and the weather was beautiful. It was our first visit to cancun and I stayed with my husband and 2 children (10yrs and 22 months). The hotel is about 30 minutes from the airport. The biggest complaint is they charge for WIFI and the lack of lifts available. WIFI is charged at $30 for 5 days per device, or $45 for 2 devices for 5 days. There are only 2 lifts and waiting for them was a little frustrating. We had a standard room at the front of the hotel which was nice and quite for our children at night time. Room was spacious and cleaned everyday. Room service is not free which isn't much of a problem as soft drinks, beer and water are free in the fridge in the room. The rooms are very basic and the air conditioning system could do with updating. It wasn't too much of a problem for us as the temperature wasn't too hot but I can imagine it being an issue in the hotter months. We didn't have a balcony which would have made drying clothes a bit easier but there was a washing line over the shower. The resort is buzzing and there is always something going on for children so you will never be bored. The evening shows were amazing and the pirate ship experience was very good fun. For hotel guests it is free on a certain day (Friday for us) if you book with the concierge. We had an amazing time and if this is your first all inclusive you will not be disappointed. The hotel is clean, staff are friendly, and you have everything you could possibly need. There are several places to eat and buffet has quite a variety of different foods. Our favourite was the buffet restaurant near the kids area next to the pirate ship (I forgot the name). Food can get repetitive but there is always something for everyone. Restaurants need to be booked between 4 and 5pm for a reservation that evening. Queues for that can get long. The food is lovely though. The beach is stunning. We spent most of our time there as the sea was so warm and calm. My kids loved the sand. The snack bar on the beach can get really busy and they serve the same food everyday which was a bit annoying but my kids loved it. They had chips, burger and nuggets everyday. Staff are amazing. They work so hard and still manage to be helpful and friendly. Ricardo and Daniel from the excursions team are amazing. We booked swimming with dolphins, Jet Ski, and Scuba Diving with them, Overall it was a wonderful holiday and I would defiantly recommend The Grand Oasis Palm, It is a nice, friendly , family resort . Apart from the few little things that I have mentioned overall the hotel has no issues. I have two 5 star and above experiences to compare it to so I have been spoilt and cannot say it is a luxurious hotel but it is a comfortable resort. Thank you Grand Oasis Palm we have left with some wonderful memories.

Perfect in some ways, awful in others. Overall, it was a budget all-inclusive, so expect budget things.

I just spent 5 nights/6 days here with my wife and 3 kids (ages 12,10, and 7) and I'll give you the run-down. I'm going to do this by category and give you the good and the bad.. If you're planning a major stay here, then you're going to be dropping some cash so you deserve a detailed review...Strap in..here we go. ROOMS First the good: We bought a family suite that had 2 rooms connected by a door. There was plenty of room to spread out and although there were 2 queen beds in the kids room and a king in our room. The way you accommodate the 3rd kid was a bench-like couch (we called it the "altar" because it was on this raised dais that had a cushion on it. But it was large enough to accommodate any of the kids (and they rotated who got that bed) We had to call down to get the sheets and blankets, but they came right away with them. It was actually a little cool the week we stayed and the A/C even at the highest temp made it uncomfortably cold. We just left the A/C completely off and it was good. But if you are here during a hot time, you'll love the A/C. Adriana our room attendant was awesome. She went out of her way to make sure we had enough of everything. The bad: The shower function on the tub/shower was not reliable. You'd have to pull it just right to get it to stay in place for the shower to work. The water itself has a sewage type smell about it. I avoided injesting any of it at all costs. They give you plenty of bottled water and that was what we used to brush teeth, etc. There is no way to avoid noise in the hallways or outside by the pools. At night, we'd hear people coming down the hall and the marble hallways made an echo that amplified the sounds. But overall, most of the noise died down after midnight. POOL/BEACH The good: The pools are really nice, well-kept, and clean. Plenty of room for everyone and one pool had more of the kids and DJ while the infinity pool was quieter and big enough for lap swimming. The beach was clean and not many hucksters coming by to sell things. There were plenty of beach chairs and we didn't have a hard time finding 2 under an umbrella even in the middle of the day The bad: It's windy. We visited another hotel on the other end of the strip and didn't experience this. The breeze might be nice if the weather is warmer, but it was in the 70's for us and the breeze + shade made things a little chilly. There's also a swarm of hungry and fearless seagulls, but as long as you cover your food up with a plate, they leave you alone. There are also no hot tubs/jacuzzis. Unless you get a spa package and then you get a alotted amount of time to soak and they weren't even piping hot. Not impressed there. THE FOOD We hit the buffets most mornings, the pool grill during the day, and the reservation only restaurants for dinner. Some of the restaurants require getting a reservation and that can be tricky...more on that a little further down. The Good: Lots of choices, lots of restaurants. For breakfast, we tried all of the buffets and liked Sisal the best but Dos Lunas was also great. For lunch, we usually snacked at Dos Lunas or the buffets near the pool. For dinner, we tried all of the ones that required reservations and our favorite was MakiTaco. The staff was what made the difference. Noe was tireless in making sure we enjoyed every course and was friendly to the kids too. He was really upset when he got one part of our order wrong and the next time we went there, he remembered us and made a point of making sure we got the royal treatment. My wife and I got one night to ourselves and loved the experience we had at Careyrey. It was romantic and the food was awesome and really well presented. All that was missing here was some Barry White music after dessert. The Coffee shop was great and the two barristas worked hard to make sure you got what you needed. It moved really fast.. Starbucks could learn a thing or two from these ladies. We aren't drinkers so I can't comment on the quality of the alcohol and we didn't experience the cigar bar nor the cantina, but some of our fellow guests said they were really nice. The bad: The lines to get into the buffet. Unless you go early or late, you could expect to wait 20 mins or so to get a table. Also, the reservation only thing... here's how it works. You can't call in a reservation. Someone in your party has to show up at 4 O'clock and they take reservations from 4-5PM. Only, you really need to get in line at about 3:30 to have a good chance of getting a reservation. We always got one, but only because it took 1 day for us to learn that you can't just show up at say 4:30 and get one...they go fast. I'm sure they have their reasons for this, but I really hated having to keep an eye on my watch to make sure one of us got over there in time. Can't you just call it in or make it with the concierge whatever time you want? THE SHOWS The good: This is probably the best part of the resort. The shows were all excellent. Our favorite was the Latin Night/Cabaret thing. The main character in the show's interludes was really talented and the dancers were all excellent. The Maya show was also excellent and we enjoyed the sights and sounds. If you plan to go, I'd recommend you get there 15 mins early to get some decent seats. In some of the shows there were people sitting on the floor and standing along the walls. The bad: Nothing really. We sat about 5 rows back from the stage and the speakers are LOUD. I even thought about bringing some earplugs. WI-FI The good: It works and seemed adequate to get emails and even watch a you-tube or two at night. The bad: I had to pay for it.. $45 for 2 devices for 5 days. That's a rip-off. You cannot even get basic wi-fi for free. You pay. That's not right. THE SPA We had the kids stay at the kids club for one afternoon and the two of us got a couples massage and the wife also got a mani/pedi. The Good: The attendants were very nice and the masseuses were good. I could say I've had better, but we only paid about $220 USD for 2 -50min massages + 30 mins in the jacuzzi + the mani/pedi The bad: Of all the places to catch a whiff of that sewage smell, it seemed to be a little stronger here. The jacuzzi was not really that hot (101 degrees) but it was ok. GETTING AROUND: You will need a taxi. There are flat rates and we were still within the range of the "zona hotelera" which is 800 pesos each way. This hotel is located at the far end of the strip. About a 30-40 min ride. It might have been because of the time of the day, but tell the driver to go the route through the city center and not the zona hotelera way and you'll shave about 5-10 mins, especially at night when the partiers are out. When you arrive, I would consider finding a ride service and pay in advance so somebody is waiting for your group with a sign. We tried the super shuttle and it didn't seem to matter whether you got your own van or did a ride share. We stood outside waiting in a queue for about 45 mins. If the weather wasn't in the 70's that would have really been unpleasant. We didn't really need to leave the resort for anything, but you can't walk to much of anything other than the Pirates cove marina a few blocks down. If you're a runner, there's a decent paved path all the way down the strip, but you will be assaulted by some of that sewage smell from time to time. It's pretty bad. OTHER THINGS: Bring some cash for tips. They never stick their hands out, but I wanted to recognize some of the really good folks there. I'd say anywhere from a few dollars or peso equivalents to maybe $5-$10 or so for the dinners is probably enough. There's a kids club. We tried it for one day and the kids all had a good time, but one day was about all they wanted over there. We didn't want them playing video games and that's exactly what they wanted to do when they got there. The SISAL buffet had a baloon clown who made some of the most detailed baloon animals I've ever seen. He told me he studied at clown school and has been doing this for about 8 years (1 year at this hotel) I mean exquisitely detailed sculptures and seemed like works of art. They charge you for the use of an in-room hotel safe too!! About $7 USD a day! I will close by saying that we booked this through booking.com and it was half the price of any other hotel with 3+ stars. This was a bit of a last minute idea to do this and we did do this in the middle of the high-season. So, you get what you pay for, but this was a good value for the spend. There will be a few annoyances, but remember that most of your friends are shivering back home and you're complaining because it's a little windy or your sushi wasn't perfect premium grade?... gimme a break!

Water and elevators go out regularly

We joined a couple other families and the kids had a great time. While the hotel was clean and fun for kids, the water and elevator regularly went out. Water going out was especially horrible. Had soap in my hair when it went out once. The stairwell wraps around the elevator and i’ve never seen so many people walking up 8 flights. Good for fitness i guess. Restaurants were average and the 3 buffets essentially served the same thing. The white box was the best restaurant. Agave was also pretty good. Didn’t get to eat at careyes. No kids allowed. NO wifi included in either the oasis palm or grand oasis palm. 7 dollars a day for 1 computer or tablet. Also, the car rental place in the hotel tried to rip me off by chrging twice for the deposit on the rental car and only refunding one. Had to call my credit card to get my refund.
