Grand Oasis Cancun is a HUGE resort! I am horrible with directions and I frequently.. and I mean REALLY freakin frequently got lost trying to navigate my way around the resort. If you have any sort of walking disability please do not stay here, if you do- you must beg for a room close to the main lobby. My cousin (male) and I went together and we just asked for a 2 bed room. They gave us our keys and we started the journey to our room, just keep swimming swimming swimming. once you have walked for 10 minutes just casually walk up 6 flights of stairs in non air conditioned air. Finally we arrived at our room with a/c what a relief !! We walk in and theres 1 bed.... Let me tell you we are from Toronto- not Alabama. We ended up being so tired that we couldn't imagine carrying our luggage all the way back to front desk to complain so we sucked it up and shared a bed (it did seem to be way bigger than a usual King bed so honestly we each had enough room. Then I look at the washroom...... Theres a freaking window in the washroom that faces the bedroom, what is this a honey moon suite? again- we sucked it up. Food is decent at best if you're cheap. I highly suggest working food upgrade bracelet into your budget. You will see so many reviews saying that the steak house is the best- but like the idiot you are you will want to try all of them (obviously we did) let me tell you something, just go to the steakhouse!!!! This resort is for teenagers- DO NOT BRING YOUR KIDS, go to disney land- don't be selfish this is not for kids, and not for retired couples. go elsewhere, the pavement is VERY uneven. The resort is BEAUTIFUL- they spend alot of money on maintenance. They are constantly repainting, and fixing everything. I water pipe burst one day outside and they fixed it, there was a fire one day but it got put out. If you're 19-29 and want a cheap tan and edible food, this resort is for you, if you're older than 30, pay more and go somewhere nicer. If you're over 60- go home. Oh! The guys outside the front on the driveway are the best to buy stuff from, and they will get you fresh coconuts from the trees! They made our trip.

Saw blood on floor & doors, sheets & comforter dirty, missing tiles & mold in bathroom , ants in room, bathrooms on property smelled of urine, servers wiped sweaty head & continued cooking, resort refused partial refund after numerous phone calls and after speaking with Better Business Bureau. Wifi is horrible and not free. Room safe could have been carried out of the closet and it was not free. There was no privacy in the bathroom as there is a glass window looking from the toilet out toward the bed. There are no bathrooms by any of the pools, no servers walking around to see if you want anything to eat or drink. Restaurant by the beach was disgusting. We waited to be seated for dinner over two hours each night then we also waited over an hour to get food. Buffets were disgusting and not maintained . They served an alcoholic drink to my nine-year-old niece. Never came back to offer refills on our drinks. All public bathrooms on property smelled like urine and we're not maintained. Nothing is convenient to get to everything is a long walk. Checking in took 2 hours and there is no air conditioning in the lobby or restaurants. Rooms don't get cool either. Room service doesn't include water or soda. Bottled water is impossible to get. Four out of five of us got sick. I wouldn't go back if they paid me. For an all inclusive resort, they don't like to include anything! SAVE YOUR MONEY! We checked out after 1 1/2 days and went to the sister resort (Grand Oasis Palm). It was better.

I'm currently staying at the Grand Oasis Cancun.  I've stayed here before a couple of years back and had a great time. This time I brought my family with me.  Check in was fine, we got the grand plus package which gives you a personal check in experience (VIP).  However shortly after we started experiencing some issues.  The color of the water in the room, an odor and some low water pressure regarding the toilet.  We were also not pleased with a small situatuion in the pool regarding something floating around and a foul odor in the Coyote Loco, club.  I booked here because they offer some good shows and nightly entertainment, plus the beach here is beautiful but the above named issues were putting a big damper on our vacation. We decided to send management a lengthy email including the above issues and a couple of minor ones.   The management team contacted us back via email and informed us to please reach out to our local concierge service.  They also informed us that they are going to forward the email to their higher ups. We have a concierge service on our floor so we stopped by to see what can be done to help resolve some of our issues. That is where we met Daniel. As soon as we stepped in he already knew who we were and told us that they have upgraded our status at the hotel to have additional access to some of the other restaurants which were excluded from our original booking. He informed us that he will personally be taking care of us for the remainder of our stay. He set up our reservations at the restaurants which were actually much better than the buffet food and made sure that somebody stopped in to address the foul odor in our room which has since then been resolved. Ironically I walked into the Coyote Loco bar the next night and the unpleasant smell was gone, I guess our emails were passed up to higher management. Some issues are beyond Daniel's control to resolve such as plumbing but he is more than competent at doing his job well and had made our stay here more pleasant. He also checked in with us a couple of times and personally walked us down to dinner and made sure our table was set up so we can have an enjoyable dinner. My family and I thought he was management but it turns out he is in fact just concierge. We are happy that he was there for us and overall a great asset to the Grand Oasis. Though most of the staff at the Oasis are friendly or cordial at the least, we wish there were more staff there with Daniel's attitude and willing to go the extra mile to make sure that our time here was a great one.

My friends and I went thinking we were going to have a good time. We bought the cheapest package knowing that we would not have access to all the restaurants and bars. However, what we didn't know, was that we would be treated like junk. We were told that our mini fridge should be restocked every day, but over the 4 days we were there, it was not restocked once. I didn't care about not having sodas restocked, but I did care about the bottles of water we were supposed to have. After drinking, we needed water! We called multiple times a day asking for bottles of water, and always got the response "we will check on that". We never received any. When we would go to the front desk to find out where we could get some, they told us to go to the VIP lounge, but when we went over there, they told us they couldn't serve us bc of our wristband color (identifies what you have access to - also leaves a huge tan line on your wrist). We were constantly sent on a wild goose chase just to get a bottle of water! It's supposed to be all inclusive - just give it to us! The cleaning service was also no good. They congregated outside our door every morning around 7 am setting their carts up and even though we had our "shh sleeping" sign outside, they were so loud and didn't seem to care at all. We were also given 3 towels every day when we needed 4, so we had to share. Also, our room was so hot and humid. The outside door didn't lock, and didn't even close all the way, which kept it hot in there. We wanted to use the safe in our room, but it had a huge hole in it, so we weren't able to use that at all. Luckily nothing was stolen from our room. The pillows are flat, lumpy, and hard as a rock. Very uncomfortable to sleep on. To only good food we had was at the Mexican place by the pool, the rest was not very good. I don't know about the places we didn't have access to. There were a few good things - the Zumba instructor was super nice, and the bartenders that we met down by the beach were awesome and made good drinks. Unfortunately, that's where the good ended. If I were you, I'd book somewhere else.

Please book elsewhere

I read the reviews upon going, however I thought I would give it a try. BIG MISTAKE. It is not all inclusive like it states. We were only given a couple of restaurants and entertainment events that we were allowed in. Food was horrible. Our hotel room was so humid and hot, we had no AC. The ceiling was leaking water all over our floor. There were roaches in the hallway, we were only given 3 towels per day when they knew there were four people staying in the room. They never restocked our water bottles and soda. It literally had to take us yelling at them to finally give us water bottles because they would send us in circles. It was quite ridiculous. Honestly, stay somewhere else. We would get calls to our room at 6 in the morning and the maids would stand outside of our rooms early in the morning and be extremely loud. Literally, worst hotel I have ever stayed in.
