Nice place for the money. We got upgraded which was a bonus! It was clean, staff was very friendly and the grounds and rooms well taken care off. We wanted to try something less expensive than we had before and were pleasantly surprised. We did have the black wrist bands which included all restaurants and bars. Would definitely recommend it. Went with a group of my friends, so much fun!

Came here with a bunch of my friends (we're 20) after we finished our second year of university and had an amazing time! The resort is good and the food was good too. The best part is that there hundreds of other young adults around the same age so you met so many people and had so many people to party with. The downsides were that the hotel basically shut down after 11:00 pm. All the bars closed so you couldn't get drinks except for the one disco they had that was really lame and sketchy. You basically HAD to go off the resort if you were going to have a good time at night. Which wasn't a horrible thing because downtown cancun was AWESOME but cover each night was like 60$ (drinks included) so you had to spend a lot extra. So it was kind of annoying that you couldn't really have a good, fun night just by staying on the resort but going downtown is super fun and not sketchy at all. Highly recommend Mandala beach club, Coco Bongo and the City. Another annoying thing was it was impossible to get bottled water (you were allowed to call the front desk and get one per person per room a day) but other than that you couldn't get any (they told you to go across the street to the convinience store to buy water). Also when you came back from the bars at 4am there wasn't any food open so no drunk food :(. All in all the resort was such a fun place to be during the day and highly recommend it but keep in mind that you are going to have to spend at least 200$ extra on packages to go downtown for nighttime. This is a nice all inclusive hotel but if you are looking for a high end hotel, the is not your place. The staff is very friendly and the meals were good. Rooms were very clean even though it took till the end of the day to have them serviced. The swim up bars in the pools tend to be crowded because there are just 2 of them. Be careful of the guys at the beach selling cigars, I was turned off because walking with my daughter one guy offered to sell me drugs. The resort needs to pay more attention to this since this resort is more family oriented. More>

Be sure to talk to your travel agent (or make sure that everyone in your family is on the same all-inclusive plan). My brother was not allowed into several restaurants because his particular all inclusive travel plan was different then ours (and other family members). It was very frustrating as he was unable to get into several restaurants. They also check bands on the beach, and gave us a hard time for being together. More>

This place is just misunderstood. let me break it down real quick here. try to stay with me. There are three tiers: 1. Lite - cheap/poor 2. Grand Plus - good 3. Pyramid - the best of the best And in between those tiers above, are 'levels' based on who you booked with - yes, this is important to them. Say you booked a 'grand plus' with Expedia vs Somedudes Travel agency that gives them occasional business, the guy who booked with Expedia will receive a different bracelet than the 'somedudes' travel agency even though they both booked the same 'grand plus' room. The room, will a little better and any complaints from the Expedia guy will be quickly resolved. Understanding the above, you are not going to get a super nice room, check-in is not going to be super fast and you will not have use of some restos and bars! basically, you get what you pay for. Now, we had a Grand Plus room, which was in the 'side' pyramid, on the 4th floor. the room was dated, but nice. It was clean, had a nice flat panel and the AC was so cold I had to turn it down. I had a very nice modern digital safe (free) and a fantastic view of the beach. You can tell the resort was the cream of the crop at one point in time, now it show's its age well. With cracks in the pools and walls. You can tell they are trying to maintain it, however I watched a 'kid' attempting to plaster some sheetrock and it looked like a very inexperienced person doing the rapair - as if they have never applied plaster before in their life. This is also how some of the other repairs appeared - like they were done by someone who simply didnt know how to install the tile, or fix the wood, or whatever it was they were fixing. The GOOD! The food - Awesome! I cannot believe some of the restaurants are actually included for free. The Brazilian steak house was amazing, the Mexican restaurant and even the buffet was incredible. Fully stocked and very tasty food, I was very happy with the food. The Cafe's were also always stocked, no lines and provided 'starbucks' type coffees, for free. awesome. I honestly don't know what people complain about. The SHOW - INCREDIBLE. and it's free. an AMAZING SHOW EVERY NIGHT, FREE! yes, hot in there, but you are in Mexico. in the summer. hush up with your complaining and do what I did, head to the nice air con bar. jack and coke you say? all top shelf, REAL liquor no crap here (in the lobby bar). The room had a nice little cold fridge, fully stocked with beer and drinks, loved it. Staff and cleaning people were very nice, most of the time (be sure to tip them!) and whenever I asked for extra towels or anything, they were happy to provide. Now, for the bad. My room was not made up 2 days of the 5 I was there, this was disappointing. As some people mentioned, the pool bars closed at 6 sharp and would run out of ice and stuff to make drinks by 3pm. So basically, beer only after 3. This was examined every day. they simply ran out and did not restock. weird. I saw a roach in on of the buffet areas.. some people had a heart attack, me, who cares. We had a rainy night - woke up to puddles from the balcony and apparently so did everybody else. geez, invest a little money and buy some rubber seals! cheap, easy! While most of the staff was awesome, there were some that even if you tipped, simply did not care and acted that way. maybe they were overworked, or whatever the case, then just go home. dont stay at work with a negative attitude. If I had to pick something that bothered me the most, is the LOUD and DRUNK kids coming back to their rooms at all hours of the night to the wee morning. Now, the problem is not with them, they are drunk. The resort needs to put a guard or authority figure at the entrance of each building to REMIND these young DRUNK kids that there are people sleeping. that they should proceed (somewhat) quietly. I think if the resort did this, it would be in much better health with the ratings. but some nights, man, I was about to get out of bed, put cloths on and pick a fight with a bunch of drunk kids! :p As for the lines that people complain about? if you go at the peak of summer during spring break - there will be lines in ANY resort. We went right after and experienced no lines. Would I visit this resort again - YES! the price is right. the food was awesome and it has a nice location. there were some problems, but I had a blast.
