Grand oasis
Jun 27 2018
Apple provided misleading information. All inclusive the better restaurants and bars were excluded. Nice room with great ocean front room but no beach access directly from the building. Long walk to get to the beach. Note that we paid extra for grand plus room and still excluded from restaurants, bars and the party zone. Very disappointing vacation. We have been to Rivera maya on 14 occasions so it is not the country, just this hotel.

Nice but Party Central
Jun 08 2018
We stayed at this facility with our best friends as we were celebrating their 10th anniversary. At 1st glance it we thought it was a great place to stay. However, after trouble with our rooms, they did not honor our requests that we had given in plenty of time, the extremely long wait for help with switching one of our rooms becasue the A/C didn't work, the coffee pot annd mini fridge in our new oom didn't work, and that this was definitely a party resort, makes it a place that we would't stay again. Also, the entertainement was fair on some place and great on others, but being able to see it without constantly looking around someone, did not leave us looking to find any more shows or acts to watch. The map is very confusing to follow to locae the resturants, and our friend got attacked by a peacock when we come walking out after eating. The staff that witnessed it never stioppped to make sure that she was okay. If you want a party resort, than this is for you.

Party resort

When we arrived on Monday mid-day the pool swim up bars were all ready full of 20 year olds partying and drinking.....which was the case our entire stay. We were thankful that this resort had so many pools and swim up bars as some were not so consumed with the drunk 20 year olds. Overall fun resort but not quiet and relaxing like others we have stayed at.

Welcome letter was someone else’s, no welcome gift, robe/slippers. Room was not cleaned everyday, barely stocked our water. And finding water in the hotel or outside places is impossible. Room service doesn’t provide water either. It was quite frustrating.

This is spring break central....only its allllll the time. Took over an hr to check in, 3 hrs to get wifi, and the food at ALL restaurants on property was so so so bad, that we skipped meals just to not have to put any of that slop in our mouths. Nightmare. No we wont be returning, and I will steer everyone possible away from this resort. I guess you "get what you pay for"! It was one of the cheapest for all inclusive but I might never do an all inclusive again if this is what it looks like. Absolute nightmare.

The Vacation Everyone Needs
Mar 07 2018
I thought the Grand Oasis was perfect for what I was looking for. The resort itself is huge, so there are plenty of options and a variety as well. If you want to party it up there is a pool with lots of young people right near a tiered deck with lots of music. However there are several other pools with lots of open seating that are very peaceful (you'd never even know a party was going on not too far away). The resort is pretty easy to navigate and just nice to walk around. The beach is beautiful as opposed to other Mexican beaches that you may not actually be able to sit on, just be careful swimming the riptide can be pretty extreme. There are lots of options for food, the quality is what you would expect for a resort cooking in mass quantities-- I actually really like the tacos at the pool probably the most, but there are also several restaurants with views of the ocean. The burlesque style show is quite entertaining. Overall the staff is extremely friendly and fun. I went on this vacation alone for a few days rest from dental school and was able to meet tons of people, as everyone was very friendly. The only suggestion I think I would make for this resort is having some kind of posted list of daily activities. There are things going on such as volleyball or morning yoga, but they could easily be missed if you didn't happen to be walking by or actively seeking it out. I would recommend and would also return! Very happy with my experience.

We booked 3 rooms all with double beds. When we arrived, we had 3 rooms with king size beds. This was ok for 2 of the couples. The 3rd room were newlyweds and their friend. The hotel stated they never guarantee double beds and neither could Apple. Eventually they put a cot in the room. No one card that the 3 people were sleeping in the same bed. Everyone, include hotel and Apple employees referred us to someone else. The said see the concierge on the 5th floor in our building, which no one was there. The food was mediocre at best. We were given a welcome sheet that stated they left a free bottle of wine. One room received it, the other 2 did not. Again, no response from anyone. I ordered a birthday cake, it never arrived. All the employees act like they are taking notes and going to rectify the situation and you never see them again. We have been to Cancun many times. This vacation, by far, was the worst experience we have ever incurred. I would never take children to this hotel as we saw 2 fists fights while we were there. One with a man literally bleeding everywhere. The medics showed up to help. The other was a young woman being punched in the face. Really, I am almost ashamed to stay I stayed at Oasis Cancun. I am going to call Apple in the next few days to see if I can get any refund on the room itself. I will probably again be referred to a nonexistent employee. THINK TWICE before going here.

This is a review on my trip to Cancun Mexico from February 10th to 17th 2018. I stayed at The Pyramid at Grand Oasis, which I book Via Apply Vacation. First I will say my booking with Apply Vacation was perfect from beginning to end, 10 out of 10. I stayed at the Pyramid at Grand Oasis Cancun, to start the Web site is confusion at its best. Is the resort “The Pyramid at Grand Oasis or just Grand Oasis Cancun. For me, you need to make it better understood just which resort I’m booking. On arrival I was greeted and pointed to the check in office for GRAND PLUS, and met by Maro Delgado and the check In was pain less and easy. But I had to go back to office for WIFI information and then had to wait 24hrs to use it. Also no Robe & Slippers in room got them two days later. Both come with Grand Plus. I could go on and on about the little things good and bad, but to keep this short. I’ve stayed here back in 2016 for 7 days and at the time it had a 5 star rating. I am going to give them a 4 this time. “I’VE ALWAYS BEEN A FIRM BELIEVER THAT YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR” I think I got what I paid for (good price). Reason for my lower rating: Door handle came off door over an hour to get it fixed. (see picture) Air Condition not working well, didn’t get cold enough (Glad it wasn’t really Hot) ??? TOWELS STUFF IN COLD AIR RETURN????? (didn’t take pictures) Patio door does not lock (safety concerns) Lights in Bathroom is not bright enough (new LED bulls – must be trying to save electricity) Water on the floor in the hallway, they put towels down. My guest slipped on the wet floor (she is ok, see picture) Over all of the restaurants were clean and very nice, but the food was just so so. In conclusion I would not recommend The Pyramid at Grand Oasis / Grand Oasis which ever they want to call them self a 5 STAR RESORT but a 4 STAR. I’ll give them a half star because of the outstanding staff, they are 5 star on their own.

Good but not great

We had a great vacation, but it could have been better if they had accommodations for disabled persons. My sister had a stroke, she can walk but there were stairs every where and no railings for her to hold onto. To stay at this hotel, you need to be able to walk. Each day we walked about 10k to 15k steps just in the resort. Even to get to our room we had to walk up steps to get to the elevator, definitely not ADA friendly. We loved Cancun and will return but need to stay at a different hotel so that I am not working so hard to get my sister to and from the room. The activities were fun. They had exercise on the beach with stretching in the early mornings. I loved the dancing and the staff was very nice.

Worst Service Ever - Severely Understaffed (Should be Semi-Inclusive)

We stayed at the Grand Oasis All-Inclusive from July 1st to July 5th 2018. Based on our experience here, we will not be returning here again. We usually vacation in Cancun and Playa Del Carmen at least once a year and know what to expect, so you may TRUST our review. Check-in: Our experience started terrible from the time we checked in. It took approximately 20 minutes per room to check into this place. We had 2 guest in front of us in line and by the time we got our room key, an hour had passed. I watched the guy checking us in work the menus on their outdated computer outdated check-in software. The poor guy had to basically write computer code to check us in going from menu to menu, different computer programs and entered the same data several times. He ran to the back office for papers, went to the other side of the room to make copies, Very inefficient!!! The Rooms: Rooms are usually not a deal breaker for us since we just sleep in them, but our room was not what we expected. It looked like our room has never been remodel since the oasis was built about 30 years ago. our room was smaller than expected. In order to fit 2-full size beds in there, they were pushed together. that just left enough room on either side for a night stand. The safe looked like it was fabricated at a local welding shop, with no locking device on it. For the air-condition, your temperature and fan speed is preset and you cannot adjust it at the thermostat. It barely cooled the room and was very uncomfortable at night. Minibar - (a dorm refrigerator) Only stocked every other day. It was stock with pop, water, and 2-bohemia beer bottles. Unless you bring your own bottle opener don't expect to drink the beer. You wont get these opened by hand, and I had the impression this is why they weren't the twist off kind, so they didn't have to restock the beer. Once you drink your 4-water bottles provided don't expect to get more. They don't serve bottled water at the bars or restaurants. We had to go to the store and buy our own. Its not like you can drink the tap water in Mexico. Room Phone - we typically never use them but ours didn't work. Room Noise - The doors aren't sealed to great and you can hear everyone in the hall. Room noise usually don't bother us, but they were very noisy even in the middle of the night. Restaurants: Their are several around and are limited to certain hours. We ate at the buffet designated for the Grand, the food was not the greatest and did not have much taste. There is no reservations needed for the other restaurants but the ones we did try are also buffet based with only ordering one main item from the kitchen. Most of the restaurants are outside, and they have a terrible bird problem that land on the tables and try to eat your food. Coffee Shop: Coffee and Me Shop was only staffed by one person with long lines in the morning. Every morning they were out of stocked items and we could only have cappuccino or regular coffee. So don't expect any other coffee drinks that they show on their menu. (Just imagine your favorite coffee shop being staffed by only one person, very frustrating) Bars: These were only staffed by one person, and most of the time there were long lines including the pool bars. dos XX is on tap and don't expect to recognize any of the brand of the liquor bottles on the shelf. Pool: the pools are nice, plenty of room for everyone. Be careful going to the bathroom because they are downstairs and very dangerous when wet. I seen a couple of people slip and fall. They are definitely not ADA accessible. The pools don't connect like you would expect since they advertise this as the longest pool in Cancun. Night Show: Great shows but don't expect to get a seat unless you pay for it or buy a dinner seat. You will have to stand and if your short you better hope your in front because you wont be able to see over other people. The only thing we enjoyed was the pool, cabanas and being right on the beach. They do have enough lounge chairs for their guest. The outside is kept up nicely which makes for all the great pictures you see, and trash is picked up by the staff. Check-out was also fast.

Spoilt for choice

This hotel is huge! So many choices of restaurants & bars! We only came for a week so tried to get round them all! Right on the strip so 5mins in a taxi from coco bongos & the bars. The pool is a quarter of a mile long so there is always loungers. We sunbathed by the dj everyday as we were a couple was brilliant. The entertainment & games were really funny! There is a show in the reception which is brilliant we had food & cocktail9s & booked to watch the show. The rooms are lovely very clean, we read reviews on here that the bathrooms leaked-ours did not. Right on the beach so you have the choice of pool or beach. Literally everything you want & need in this hotel & spoilt for choice! We did a private meal on the beach at the white box. The chef creates dishes for you & he made us steak & lobster which was unreal! We also had a trio of deserts I was so full but didn't want it to end! Absolutely loved it!

Never again.

Girlfriends and I stayed at the resort for a few nights of our Mexican vacation and I can get over how glad I am that we were only there at this resort for a short time. The staff is mostly rude, uncooperative, and not willing to work with you if you don’t speak Spanish. . They were so so rude to the three of us. For what you pay, you’d think that you’d have an experience with good food and drinks right? Wrong. The food is awful and the drinks weren’t great either. The wi fi worked well, but trying to get it is another story. We paid for the package with WiFi on purpose because we ended to have internet access for work. We got here and they insisted that we didn’t and ended up charging us more money for it. After a two hour run around mind you. The grounds aren’t clean. We found something nasty just about everywhere we went. There were ants all over and trash and it was kind of gross. There were three of us in our party and upon arrival we had to add the third person. It was almost the amount of money for one whole night to add the third person that we had already added when we booked the room. We feel like we got ripped off and that it was a huge waste of money for the most part. I wish refunds or even partial refunds were a thing but since why aren’t we have learned our lesson and we will never stay here again. Ever.

Worst Resort I've Been To
Amrit D,
Mon Jul 16 08:22:21 EDT 2018
When people tell you this resort is below par, believe them. All the food here is disgusting and in some cases even unedible. We already had known that so I wasn't expecting much but holy that was the worst food I've ever had. Looking past the food, the actual resort and rooms aren't the best but hey this isn't a luxury resort. All of that was tolerable until we saw how bad these guys are at service. Resort staff kisses their teeth and makes comments when they are asked to do anything if a tip isn't involved. So when this resort is labelled "all inclusive" expect having to pay a substantial tip to get anything at all done. At some of the pool bars the bartenders ignore you and serve you last if you don't have a dollar in your hand. Even after doing small tasks they will come up to you and ask directly for a tip, something that really turns anyone off from giving them anything. The first day we were here we were chilling on the balcony of our room and closed the door behind us. When we were about to leave we realized the door had somehow been locked from the inside (due to a faulty door). This was around 11pm and with no way of contacting anyone we had to scream at pedestrians passing by to try and give them our message of us being trapped. As a last hope we messaged our friend in Canada to call the hotel and tell them to get us out of there. He was repeatedly hung up on and told that they don't understand English. After waiting outside for 3 hours on the balcony we were ready to go to sleep, not expecting anyone to come. Finally a knock at the door and they come in and realize its a faulty door. Again the guy did not speak english and said one word "sorry" and left. Without any remorse and on top of that they didn't even fix the door. Being a resort in Mexico, bottled water is a necessity and most days we had to ask many housekeepers and employees who would often forget to bring it. Many of our days were spent unable to even get water. The staff here don't appreciate a tip, instead they expect it and even ask for more if they aren't satisfied with it. Overall the worst service ever. Besides all that, we had a blast at the clubs outside the resort, so any other resort with a similar location should be great if you guys are planning on going out most nights.

Beautiful grounds

Just returned from a four night stay. The ground are incredibly beautiful. Pool was nice. The food was pretty much your resort type food. Long waits in the morning for breakfast which was not worth the wait. The bar staff by the international/Mexican restaurants were great! Shout out to Martin, Philippe, and Ian. The swim up bar was crowded and smelled nasty. The rooms are in dire need of updates. Rooms are run down. Towels were hard to obtain. Room smelled of sewer. Check in was an hour long. Two staff members checking guest in at prime time. Read the reviews before booking here,
