The Vacation Everyone Needs
Mar 07 2018
I thought the Grand Oasis was perfect for what I was looking for. The resort itself is huge, so there are plenty of options and a variety as well. If you want to party it up there is a pool with lots of young people right near a tiered deck with lots of music. However there are several other pools with lots of open seating that are very peaceful (you'd never even know a party was going on not too far away). The resort is pretty easy to navigate and just nice to walk around. The beach is beautiful as opposed to other Mexican beaches that you may not actually be able to sit on, just be careful swimming the riptide can be pretty extreme. There are lots of options for food, the quality is what you would expect for a resort cooking in mass quantities-- I actually really like the tacos at the pool probably the most, but there are also several restaurants with views of the ocean. The burlesque style show is quite entertaining. Overall the staff is extremely friendly and fun. I went on this vacation alone for a few days rest from dental school and was able to meet tons of people, as everyone was very friendly. The only suggestion I think I would make for this resort is having some kind of posted list of daily activities. There are things going on such as volleyball or morning yoga, but they could easily be missed if you didn't happen to be walking by or actively seeking it out. I would recommend and would also return! Very happy with my experience.

Never recommend this place.

We booked 3 rooms all with double beds. When we arrived, we had 3 rooms with king size beds. This was ok for 2 of the couples. The 3rd room were newlyweds and their friend. The hotel stated they never guarantee double beds and neither could Apple. Eventually they put a cot in the room. No one card that the 3 people were sleeping in the same bed. Everyone, include hotel and Apple employees referred us to someone else. The said see the concierge on the 5th floor in our building, which no one was there. The food was mediocre at best. We were given a welcome sheet that stated they left a free bottle of wine. One room received it, the other 2 did not. Again, no response from anyone. I ordered a birthday cake, it never arrived. All the employees act like they are taking notes and going to rectify the situation and you never see them again. We have been to Cancun many times. This vacation, by far, was the worst experience we have ever incurred. I would never take children to this hotel as we saw 2 fists fights while we were there. One with a man literally bleeding everywhere. The medics showed up to help. The other was a young woman being punched in the face. Really, I am almost ashamed to stay I stayed at Oasis Cancun. I am going to call Apple in the next few days to see if I can get any refund on the room itself. I will probably again be referred to a nonexistent employee. THINK TWICE before going here.

You Get What you pay for.
Feb 21 2018
This is a review on my trip to Cancun Mexico from February 10th to 17th 2018. I stayed at The Pyramid at Grand Oasis, which I book Via Apply Vacation. First I will say my booking with Apply Vacation was perfect from beginning to end, 10 out of 10. I stayed at the Pyramid at Grand Oasis Cancun, to start the Web site is confusion at its best. Is the resort “The Pyramid at Grand Oasis or just Grand Oasis Cancun. For me, you need to make it better understood just which resort I’m booking. On arrival I was greeted and pointed to the check in office for GRAND PLUS, and met by Maro Delgado and the check In was pain less and easy. But I had to go back to office for WIFI information and then had to wait 24hrs to use it. Also no Robe & Slippers in room got them two days later. Both come with Grand Plus. I could go on and on about the little things good and bad, but to keep this short. I’ve stayed here back in 2016 for 7 days and at the time it had a 5 star rating. I am going to give them a 4 this time. “I’VE ALWAYS BEEN A FIRM BELIEVER THAT YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR” I think I got what I paid for (good price). Reason for my lower rating: Door handle came off door over an hour to get it fixed. (see picture) Air Condition not working well, didn’t get cold enough (Glad it wasn’t really Hot) ??? TOWELS STUFF IN COLD AIR RETURN????? (didn’t take pictures) Patio door does not lock (safety concerns) Lights in Bathroom is not bright enough (new LED bulls – must be trying to save electricity) Water on the floor in the hallway, they put towels down. My guest slipped on the wet floor (she is ok, see picture) Over all of the restaurants were clean and very nice, but the food was just so so. In conclusion I would not recommend The Pyramid at Grand Oasis / Grand Oasis which ever they want to call them self a 5 STAR RESORT but a 4 STAR. I’ll give them a half star because of the outstanding staff, they are 5 star on their own.

Good but not great
Feb 13 2018
We had a great vacation, but it could have been better if they had accommodations for disabled persons. My sister had a stroke, she can walk but there were stairs every where and no railings for her to hold onto. To stay at this hotel, you need to be able to walk. Each day we walked about 10k to 15k steps just in the resort. Even to get to our room we had to walk up steps to get to the elevator, definitely not ADA friendly. We loved Cancun and will return but need to stay at a different hotel so that I am not working so hard to get my sister to and from the room. The activities were fun. They had exercise on the beach with stretching in the early mornings. I loved the dancing and the staff was very nice.

I've been to several all inclusive hotels in Mexico and this was by far the worst one i've been to. We forgot a real gold chain in our hotel room and the staff said there was nothing there when they went and looked. We know for a fact it was left there and have never before been to a place that is dishonest especially about something like that and the amount it was worth. Not only that, but this hotel has the lowest quality of food probably offered in Mexico. The 'hamburgers' were a light tan color and mostly every restaurants food did not sit well. lastly, every time i have been to a resort the employees are amazing. The people, besides a select few, did not care about you or even had a smile on their face. The best part of the whole place was the beach, clearest beach i've been to in Mexico.

The room size was great. Came in to a stocked mini fridge, champagne , & dessert. When it got rainy the windows shook and the wind made them knock. Super annoying, especially while trying to sleep. The staff was friendly and helpful. Having the beach right outside the hotel was lovely as well.

Not an All Inclusive Vacation
Feb 01 2018
I have stayed at all inclusive resorts through apple vacations and have never been disappointed like I was on this trip. The package we paid for online didnt get us access to all of the restaurants, we had to pay an extra $100 when we got there. Room service wasn't included and there were no servers at the beach or the pool like at other resorts we stayed at. The maidstaff came to clean our room and didnt remake our beds. the just folded down the top sheet., the bed skirts were thrown on the floor and my earrings went missing. Overall, I was just so disappointed. I had so much fun on my past trips, I definitely didnt expect to encounter this experience.

I had been to Grand Oasis before and had better experience. But this time staff was rude, maids did not come every day, there were long lines for restaurants, breakfast and lunch staff was always extremely rude, and we had 3 teenage daughters in one room and had asked for two bed and only got one. They were rude and refused to exchange rooms. Hotel not very clean. Hallways noisy at night. Things were banging on roof in wind. Room keys would continuously quit working. Pool tables in sports bar were like playing pool in wet sand. For what we paid, I wish we would have gone elsewhere.

A fun hotel to stay at!

This is a great hotel to stay at if you are looking to have a fun time. They have a good variety of restaurants, bars and entertainment. I loved he beach club! They have a different party every day in the afternoon and it was a blast. I also liked that if you woke up early you could reserve a day bed overlooking the water at no charge. Another great thing about the hotel and Cancun in general is that you can easily walk to bus transportation to anywhere you want to go in the city. I’ll comment on a few of the concerns people have posted about. Bracelets: this hotel does have 3 bracelet options indicating which restaurants and bars you can eat at. The black bracelet is the best as it doesn’t have any restrictions. You are able to pay $50/day to upgrade to this from the basic purple bracelet. For me, it was worth it. Cups: some people were concerned that the drinking cups were not cleaned out well. They do look to wash and sanitize them. In addition if you don’t like it you are allowed to bring or buy a cup and they will gladly refill it included. Beach: some people thought that the beach was on the dirty side. It’s not really any better or worse than any other beach. They do have staff that walk about and help clean up. The waves are a bit rough but if you are a decent swimmer you will be just fine. Safe Lock: these are not included and cost $7/day. Worth it for a peace of mind, ask when you check in so you don’t have to wait in line twice. Check in: we were smart to arrive mid week and had no problems with checkin. It maybe took 15 minutes at the most. Staff: the staff here was very friendly!! They were always very helpful to answer any questions you have. Recommendations: as tourists I think it’s important to tip your staff and support the local economy. In addition this property does have a lot of Peacocks. It’s sad and embarrassing that people get drunk and try to take out feathers or chase the peacocks. I think that guests need to be normal human beings and leave them in peace or the hotel should remove them and find a better home for them. Overall I loved this hotel and met a lot of great people. It isn’t your luxury hotel but it’s great for having fun.

This was the second time my husband and I stayed at the Grand Oasis Cancun. It is a beautiful location and we decided to bring the kids this time. It was perfect for our family and everyone had a great time. The pool is fabulous, the beach is beautiful and it was super easy to catch a bus to explore further into Cancun. We did have a couple of issues/concerns: 1. Check-In/Check-Out needs to be more efficient. It took way too long for both but especially Check-In. For a resort of this size, it's processes should be a lot quicker. 2. The 2 beds in our room ended up actually being pushed together to make one very large bed which we were unable to separate. It made for an interesting week of co-family sleeping 3. The food was rather disappointing. Even with the large number of restaurants to choose from, it felt like the same food was served everywhere and it was rather bland. We would definitely go back again however I will never not book 2 rooms for the 4 of us again...

We went for my friends birthday. After reading different types of reviews we still decided to go there and take the chance. Although the food wasn’t the greatest the entertainment was really good. A group of the guys there brought there own professional speakers and was allowed to have their own party in the pool and beside the disco . They really made the resort all come together with their good choice of music vs the resorts music. The rooms were good very clean and had a balcony . Staff was friendly . Only issue that I thought could be better is having unlimited water bottles . Will defiantly recommend to a younger crowd

Went with two friends, had high hopes despite the reviews. Check in takes forever, we were lucky enough to only wait 45min. People were in line the next day for hours. They charge for every single thing. $200usd for a black bracelet which is good to have not worth the price. Skip it. Buffet food is gross, by noon majority of the restaurants are closed, only left with left overs from the night before. Staff do not use gloves when making I mean reheating burgers on the grill. Staff are jaded, over worked, unless you tip everytime you're getting terrible service. They charged for a lock $7usd/day for a safety box which isn't even electronic its a box with a hole on top and you put the key in and lock it. Lose the key, yup you might, put it in a good spot. It's 2018 who uses those locks anyway. Our fridge was never I mean never stocked. Buy water or stock up because you won't find water at 3am not in your room or anywhere. Two months ago I stayed at the RIU, best resort ever!! Everything is stocked! Staff are friendly rooms are clean, they have entertainment at night. Fresh BBQ at noon. This resort is over hyped. Trying to live off their name have fallen down from quality. Skip and go to either omni(next door) or RIU cancun! Skip this resort trying to live off its name. Go to RIU Cancun!
