Not too bad

Arrived early due to flight, around 12pm, still didn't get my room till five.. That was the only bad thing I could say besides Expedia not setting up my transportation back to the airport properly, had to pay for a cab while my friends were taken by shuttle.. Made no sense, even after I showed proof that I payed to the driver he still didn't take me.. Not using that shuttle next time.. The food was not great, but you won't starve.. Drinks are not strong, ask for extra shots.. I was buying Hennesey from down the block everyday.. Lol! There was a problem with flooding too when the rain came, and my key not working half the time.. Other than that I had a great time, the resort is beautiful, so are the beaches.. We went after spring break so it wasn't that hectic, but still live in the party scene.. I went clubbing outside the resort, that's where it's at.. Crazy out there but good, had no problems.. Room was comfy, and clean.. Fridge filled and room cleaned when needed.. More>

Very nice hotel, beautiful beach but sea very dangerous

We stayed here in June, we found a man underwear in the drawer, which means that nobody had opened this drawer during the housekeeping session. Apart from that, the room for four with two queen size beds and seaview was very beautiful. It is huge so it is sometimes difficult to find a place to eat, and it takes long to get a single glass of water. The sea is besutiful but as the beach is exposed, the waves are very strong so don't expect to swim, just try to stay up ...A lot of noise at night, around four o'clock when night clubbers come back to their room shouting ... I liked the quality of the food in the restaurants, not in the buffet restaurant but in the specialty restaurants. But you could't get any mojito in the all in forfait, you neede to pay in a bar, very disappointing. More>

Went during spring break .Will never go back during that time. The food was marginal at best The staff was very helpful. The rooms need some updates. Hopefully those issues will be fixed in the future The pools close to early. The cigar bar was fantastic More>

I had a great time at the Grand Oasis

Here is an honest review from my experience at the Grand Oasis. Before I start, I must stay that I was skeptical after reading the reviews on here, but I decided to give em a try anyways. I had just graduated college and wanted a getaway to party and I am pleased that I chose to celebrate with the Grand Oasis. First and foremost location is perfect, ground are gorgeous and kept clean, the beach was breath taken. The staff was pleasant the whole time and provided exceptional service. The reason for 4 stars: My only complaint was the drinks were overly sweet and some of them tasted like there no alcohol in them at all. When i realized that I started taking shots instead of ordering well drinks and that did the trick. Our room was in Playas 1, (Pyramid room). At times I didn't even want to leave the room. We had a balcony overlooking the beach a must have when there. The fridge was stocked with beers, soda, water and chips when we got there and it was restocked once a day. I mostly asked for water because I am not much of a beer drinker. We had plenty of towels in the room. The first night when I got there the safe was broken so I decided to walk back to the front desk next day to have it fixed. Come to find out every building have a guest service desk in case you need to get something fixed in the room or request housekeeping. So if you experience any problems with your room there is no need to call front desk or walk there, every building have a service desk open from 7am-11pm. You can even check out with them too! Super convenient My safe was fixed within 10 minutes. Also whenever I requested housekeeping, someone always came within 10 minutes Pool parties was popping every day. I had no problems getting drinks wherever I was. I had breakfast twice at the Tunkul Buffet and it was great every time with so many options. Food was ok nothing spectacular, everyone recommended the Brazilian steakhouse but I didn't have the chance to dine there. There was so many options for entertainment my favorite was the fire and drum show, the circus show, Coyote night club and the beach club. So overall I did not personally experience any of the problems mentioned in all the negative reviews. I had an amazing time, I enjoyed the beach, the pool, the parties and much more. I will definitely be back and I plan on bringing a bigger group. If you're just trying to have a good time with your friends and not planning on travelling with kids this is the place for you. Stay at Playas 1 or 2 near the beach and the parties. I did meet a few people who were complaining while there but they all were travelling with kids and wanted the hotel to have someone available to carry their strollers. Unfortunately in the hospitality industry you cannot please everyone. So moral of the story do not trust all the negative reviews on here. I was skeptical too and still I decided to try it for myself and honestly I looked at other hotels in the area and I am not sure I would of have as much fun somewhere else. More>

The resort was really nice, most of the staff is really great. One thing that really helped us was the oasis plus program. I would definitely get this. Loved the beaches and the many restaurants. The pools were kind of dirty but overall very nice. The rooms are not very good. We had to switch to another room because of the AC to find that the new room had the same problem. It also had a broken toilet and a bad fridge. It did have a nice balcony. We had a nice time here overall. More>
