Hotel rooms are OK, The White Box rocks, Pools are fantastic

The hotel rooms are a bit outdated. They need improvements such as TV picture quality, bath tub plugs, and refrigerators. The restaurants, however, are very good. I'd like to mention especially The White Box where you can enjoy great course meals. The food was excellent. The staff there are the best, they will make you feel like you're a special guest. Francisco, the head waiter, made sure that my family receive excellent service. He was so personally kind and attentive that we had the best dining experience in many years. Ricardo and Farit also provided excellent service as a team. We would love to go back there. Thank you, Francisco. More>

We stayed at the Grand Oasis for about a week. We had a room in the main pyramid that was very nice and well maintained. The room was standard and was nothing spectacular, but they did provide room service that was delivered within the hour. There are many restaurants and bars to choose from, but not all of them are attached to the part of the hotel that you are staying in. A lot of restaurants are attached to the Oasis Hotels that are next door and are not in a short walking distance. We ate at the Sushi restaurant that was right by the pool and it was delicious. Joy's is also great if you want snack food later at night! The pool bars were very nice and the pools and beaches were very well maintained. If you are looking to go to the gym you are better off running on the beach or swimming in the pool. The gym was very small and there is limited equipment and you have to take turns with the people in the gym. Overall it was a great trip and I would recommend going back! More>

Loved our Stay...Awesome place!

We LOVED our stay and thought ALL of the restaurants were fantastic! Loved the all inclusive..food and drinks! We had a gorgeous ocean view room, decorated beautifully in nice aqua blue tones. :) The room was cleaned impeccably each day! All the staff were outstanding!!! I just hope they are paid accordingly...;) They all work so hard!!! One day we got the biggest kick out of the door greeters that would break into song when you left or returned! Very cute and energizing!!! But we only left once!! So much to enjoy at the resort! 16+ restaurants, yes! Bars scattered throughout and many other amenities! An awesome show was going on in the botanical garden when we arrived. Now to offer a few suggestions for improvement....yes, sorry here goes. Have the Concierge that checks you in actually tell you what all is available!!! We learned slowly by trial and error or other folks staying there, and some of the staff. They would see our armbands and tell us we could do this or that..... Really???!!!! Things that should have been explained upon arrival. For example..restaurants, the clubs, the beds by the pool and beach!!! We didn't know we had access to those until we had been there 2 days! Even then we got a huge run around from different staff members telling us different ways to reserve them...one said it was $40 which it was not. (I think a lot of this depends on your "package") After going to the front desk, then told to go over there and then down there....it ended up being first come first served....enjoy! Wow... We could have saved a lot of time and STEPS had we known that to begin with. Once you check in....is there such a rush to get your luggage to your room if it is pouring rain outside and you have to go through it to get there???!!!! We were running, following our guy getting poured on and then unable to run in wet flipflops! Somehow I had an umbrella....but that was of little help. Surely there was an alternate way to get to our room?? Or couldn't we just have stayed and watched the show in the botanical garden until the downpour subsided?? When we started following him rushing out the main hotel we had no clue it was raining. Ok, speaking of our room....twice we were awakened at 2:30 a.m. by LOUD guests....arriving to their rooms....I would guess intoxicated? The noise echoes thru the building and was enormous!!!!!! Several other folks slammed their doors in protest. Shame on such rude boisterous guests.....and I was ready to slam my door as well! I assumed even if I called the front desk by the time anyone got there the loud, yelling, partying guests would be in their room. As far as the rooms...all was wonderful except the lighting...or lack of (bathroom) and oh my gosh, that GLASS partition in the commode area to the room!!! Really??!!! Half is frosted, but still. I don't want anyone watching me "go" nor do I want to see anyone else! As far as the Wi-Fi....could that not be provided?? In this day and age it is most needed..without having to pay extra. The location of the hotel does not lend itself to ANY other available sources. Now don't get me wrong....The Grand Oasis and Pyramid is a wonderful place to vacation and we plan to go back!!!!! It can remain a wonderful resort with our feedback, right??!! :) More>

We had a fantastic time at the Grand Oasis. This was our second time staying at the Grand Oasis. We checked in without any problems and our room was waiting for us. The resort was very well maintained and the staff was awesome. We wanted to take extra time to mention Fernanda and Edith from the Sports & Entertainment Team. They were very friendly and energetic. They always took time to check on us to ensure we were having fun. That meant a lot to us! The bartenders were great, always keeping us with drink in hand!! The Sports & Entertainment Team really makes us want to keep coming back! More>

Well, Let me start by saying if you are looking to travel to Cancun on a really tight budget and don't mind missing on some of the finer things then this isn't a bad place. We stayed at the Grand Oasis Cancun with the ocean front room. So we were able to skip the whole standing in line forever to check in. we went into this little place I believe it was called the Sain'ka club or something to that effect. anyway we were able to go into there when we first arrived and they had juice and little finger sandwiches there for you to eat. They were very unorganized, I had three concierge staff ask me what my name was and finally someone was able to assist me. So after checking in and all the minor stuff, they told us we would be able to get in to the room at approx. 3:00pm.. No problem we would just take a walk around and see what was here at the resort. I mean it would have been nice to get into the room after a morning of traveling but we had already read the other reviews and we knew we wouldn't be able to get in early. So we go back to the private area at approx. 3:00pm and now there were about 25-30 people in here and like I said before there was no organization. No one knew who was here first and there was no staff member to direct you where to go or what to do. So there were people that had just arrived and were checking in and there were people like us that had already checked in and just awaiting room keys. So after another three concierge staff members asked me my name I was finally able to get the room keys. We get into the room and it doesn't seem too horrible. We get our things set up and head out into the resort. It was raining all day so we weren't able to go to the beach or pool. so we just kind walked around and got a feel for the resort. The resort was a little dated and there were leaks in the roof everywhere except the rooms.( At least not in ours). we went to the sports bar and couldn't find a table to eat at because they were all wet because of the leaks in the roof. After sitting up at the bar ,we waited for about 20mins and no one even came over to ask if we wanted something to drink. They were a little busy so I was willing to let that go but the entire resort was not very informative. no one said hey with your package you chose these are the benefits of your package. Except for the people in the tan Suit jackets that are every where. Little did I know they were time share "vultures". They sucked me into their world by asking me if We had received our free bottle of Tequila yet. Of course im in Mexico and I would like a free bottle of Tequila. So we walked with them and sure enough they attempted to sell us a timeshare.. We said no and they still gave us a bottle of tequila however I just wasted another hour and half of my trip I could have been somewhere else enjoying myself. So on the day before we leave I ask the Girlfriend, "how do we get to lay on one of these fancy cabanas on the beach?" She said she didn't know , So I Went back to the Special "VIP" club where we checked in and asked and one staff member asked me If I still had the letter we got at check -in that told us of all of our benefits with our package. I Told him no We never got a letter. so he prints one out and signs it and says we have to take this letter to the person standing at the booth next to the cabanas. So after reading this letter it states that with our package we receive a free bottle of wine upon arrival and Free 24 hours of Wi-Fi and coffee maker in room and a whole list of other benefits that we weren't aware about. Now I'm a little upset because I could have been enjoying these things all along Had I know what we were entitled to. So My biggest concern was the lack of information that was provided to us. we went to the restaurant called Cocoa for some seafood and I seen on the map that they had lobster. So we went to the restaurant and there was no lobster on the menu. So in my experiences you usually don't ask for something that's not on the menu. So after asking guest services the next day as to where I can find lobster at the resort and they told me that I had to ask for the lobster at the Restaurant. So just to throw that out there. there were just many things I wished I Had known before we got there that's all. The room was ok , don't expect Ice cold Air conditioning. there were several times through out the night I woke up sweating. Overall it was an ok experience, I would consider returning to this resort again but I would definitely look at the competition as well More>
