GH Baha Mar is the largest of 3 hotels that make up a complex of restaurants, casinos, pools and beach front that is impeccably maintained and "fueled" by over 4500 staff members (we asked). This was a 'reach' resort for us and our budget, which I share because people's experiences are generally relative to expectations and budgets. We stayed 4 nights, had a partial ocean view room that was amazing, and loved our entire experience. The great: The STAFF were outstanding. Not a single negative or even neutral experience. Always there to help, to get an umbrella, get your order for food from pool or poolside or beach, answer questions...Requel and others at concierge desk went above and beyond for us. The POOLS are numerous, varied, and wonderful. Something for everyone - shallow areas in many for children, more adult oriented pools with swim up bars (or just order from the pool), the grotto pool with built in aquarium space and diving hole, waterfalls, chairs in sand, on cement, in gazebos, in the water, sort of in the water...you name it they have it. And rarely was it hard to find a chair. We did not feel we were in Chair Hunger Games. There are at least 4 towel/lotion/water stations on the paths connecting pools. There was a flamingo area. A bird sanctuary. Various bars and restaurants and food trucks. The BEACH had soft sand and beautiful views and again, no Chair Hunger Games. In the water they set up anchored rafts to lie or sit on. Always a free kayak or paddle board to try. Overall, the layout with all the palm trees, green space, paths, plants, amenities was truly impressive. Despite the resort being huge, each area felt comfortable, well staffed, and not over crowded. The meh: water fountain show, we did you forsake us? it never happened while we were there despite being told it would happen every half hour. It was like waiting for the Great Pumpkin. Casino location questionable. The main way to get from your room (east or west tower) to the pools/beach forces you to go through the casino. Not exactly family friendly and sort of at odds with the laid-back resort vibe. We did enjoy the casino here and there, but not when having to traipse through in wet pool clothes. There is a way from east tower to get down by getting off at floor 7 and then taking stairs or an outside elevator, but that is not well marked or used by most. The ugly: We knew from reviews that the food prices were insane. They were. You cannot get out alive if you eat there and are budget conscious. Best we can recommend is Cafe Madeleine for breakfast (delicious) and the taco food truck on west end of beach path. We eat a lot so we also ate our money's worth at the Regatta buffet (one dinner, one breakfast - more impressed by dinner than breakfast). Apart from that, and despite being emotionally prepared for the prices for months ( : ) ) it was still hard to conceive how they could justify the prices. We met many well-off guests who were equally dismayed and who, while able to afford it, felt they were being robbed. Baha Mar, your guests may have $$$ but they still know when they are being taken advantage of. And those of us who splurge for this kind of trip are forced to go off resort to eat. Which we did for 3 of our 4 dinners - Wok n Roll near Sandals (take the free shuttle!), Cafe Matisse in Nassau (expensive but better quality and value for the money), and the Arawak Cay fish fry area (local experience). Second grievance: oh lord the LOUD MUSIC blasting from SLS hotel pool...not so great. Sometimes with Rated R lyrics - okay for me, not okay for kids. Resort needs to have SLS keep their volume under check. Our only other complaint, and this is more serious because it is about safety: Baha Mar needs to do something about the free boat that goes to Balmoral Island. OK, we are in another country with different safety regulations. And the boat is not Baha Mar's, we just had access to it. And it was free after all...Got it. But that boat...no life jackets, and no safety protocols, and they just back up to the dock and have people jump on and off without even tying a single rope to secure the boat - they just rev in reverse to keep the boat at the dock. We are boat people, have been to other Caribbean islands and on lots of kinds of boats, and this thing was a disaster waiting to happen. With all the money Baha Mar has, it should help ensure the safety of its guests who go to Balmoral for the day (another great activity, btw). E.g., encourage guests to 'check out' a life preserver for the trip from the towel kiosk. OK now to sum up: fantastic place overall. Expensive, but you get a lot of luxury for that luxury cost. Beautiful, immaculate, friendly, relaxing, perfect in almost every way. I forgot to mention that we loved the "cashless" environment - didn't bring cash/credit cards with us anywhere during the day.

This resort is huge, part of the Baha Mar complex among with SLS and the Rosewood. You can handily use all 3 hotels pools and venues which are cashless. It has a lot of outlets, pools and a big casino which got busier through our 6 night stay towards the weekend. It’s not near much and cabs are expensive but there is so much variety you probably won’t need to leave the complex.Distances can be overwhelming but the rooms are modern, comfortable and have great views. There are adult only pool parties, to kids pools and everything in between. It’s a huge operation so if you like more intimate places or have mobility issues it may not be for you. Amazing flamingos and sea life on the property. We had a great time.

Very nice

I hope I'm not writing this to soon. It is our 3rd day of 7. The rooms are very nice. The only problem is towels. We have 4 people and housekeeping only leaves 3 towels. We keep calling and asking for more. They do bring them to us but is there no learning curve here. The restaurants have been good, very expensive. Drinks outrageously priced at about $16 each. Note to management, take a business class, at 16 bucks I have 2 or 3, at 10 clams I have 15. The mocha espresso is the most delicious drink I've ever had, that is worth the price. We will return to stay here again absolutely.

Worst service ever

Very bad service, being an Explorist member, and a frequent and loyal member of hyatt, this has been a very disappointing experience. The service is very poor, and the front desk tried to charge us more with no explanation. Definitely not recommended.
