We went for our 20 year wedding anniversary and fell in love with Grand cayman and this hotel. Everyone was very sweet and went out of their way to make our stay the best. Planning our trip to go back next year!!!!

Hotel is the best, great pool and beach area. Give you chair covers & umbrellas complimentary. Water floats in the ocean. Reefs near to snorkel. Great service for daily activities. Maids very good, just one day they forgot some towels and cream for our coffee. No entertainment in the bar so not that it was fair, just NA. Area was nice and big TV's for Olympics.

We went with our two sons for a college graduation gift. We had a very nice time but it was super expensive! We could not get a drink for under $10 except at happy hour and even then the drink were limited to just a few choices. The food specials were so expensive also! Breakfast was so much, We finally found a place across the street that was somewhat reasonable to feet two very hungry young men. We thought about going to the special lobster night but it would have cost us $400 US dollars for the 4 us us after it was all said and done. We instead went into town and had an amazing meal for half the price. I thought the beach was very crowded but the staff and service there was excellent. The pool was very hot , not refreshing at all, but it was getting into their hot season so maybe that is why. We enjoyed the island and we are really glad we vacationed there, just not sure if we will go back. Just very expensive.

I thought the staff was wonderful, the beach was just beautiful but the area to sit out was so crammed for so many guests.. felt very crowded but it was ok, we still had a great time! Loved the floats in the water!! The rooms were very nice, maid service was excellent! We had 2 iPhone 5's stolen from the beach during sunset which was really sad, we let our guard down I guess,. The hotel staff helped us look and contacted the police. No luck though. Other than that it was good, just found the prices there for everything were really expensive. Not many happy hours and the ones that they had were really limited to just a few drinks. I was there with my two sons and husband and we spent a fortune just trying to feed everyone and drink. Just no occasional deals. :( Not sure I can afford to go back sadly. It was really a beautiful island but it was just really expensive to do anything, especially times four!

The staff at this place went above and beyond any other place ive ever stayed at. The hotel always was very clean and smelt so fresh. Their resturants are a little pricey but tastey. good beach when calm, always enough chairs and umbrellas. great location , walking distance to many good resturants or just a short bus ride away @ 2.00CI each.Ocean front worth it if your not over the restuarant. Over all GREAT PLACE, with themed dinner nights and smores on the beach when not windy. . LOVED IT DAVINA AND GENOVA are the best , need anything go see them.

When we arrived at the airport, we had no transfers to the hotel, so we had to get a cab. It cost $18.75, so we told the girl at Marriott and she said we should tell our travel agent. At the end again, we almost missed our flight because our transfer NEVER showed up, so Alisa at the Marriott called Tropicana Tours and they never showed up, so we had to get a cab again.....$18.75 again. We have our receipts. We are very disappointed with APPLE VACATIONS, the last two times we traveled with them. We took many, many trips with APPLE and the last few, we always have some kind of a problem. Our transfers were included with the package but we DID NOT have any either way. We almost missed our flight back home because of waiting for our transfers that never showed up! Also, we felt the food was VERY expensive at the Marriott. Please reimburse our transfers monies both ways. Thank you! The rest of the trip was fine and we really enjoyed Grand Cayman. It is beautiful. Terry Raible

Great Stay

Friendly and welcome staff. We got a partial ocean view and were very happy with the room. Beach has no real sand areas. Stairs going down to beach go right until the rocky ocean. Definitely wear water shoes so this doesn't ruin your stay. Lots of floating devices: floating trampolines to lay in, floating areas to lay and relax on the calm warm Carribean waters. Pool area is small, but plenty of entertainment for kids: story time by pool, mermaids, pirate, free hair braiding. Restaurants have excellent food, but expensive. Ask for a microwave in your room, they will bring u one for free. Public beach called Royal Palms is 10 minute walk. They have restrooms, bar, restaurant, near shops. Would stay again.

Very nice place to stay

We were here for four days in mid-November. The rooms are spacious and well-appointed with hair dryer, coffee maker, fridge, safe and fully functional Wi-Fi that you didn't have to log into every day. We like a cold room at night and were able to get the temperature down nice and low. That's not always possible, as hotels sometimes set a range that you can't go above or below. The lobby bar selection could have been a bit better, but the food was pretty good. We loved the lobster quesadilla! The service is maximum friendly and we were well-received by the locals. The pool is beautiful and between there and the beach, there were plenty of deck chairs for everyone. Very good hot tub too. Now that Marriott has merged with Starwood, maybe they can import some Coca-Cola onto the premises. Sorry, but Pepsi just doesn't do it for us. Coke was available at the gas station across the street though. The beach had disappeared with the fall storms and there were many sharp rocks and shells to negotiate during our beach walks. Not the hotel's fault at all and we look forward to seeing a different beach when we return in March.

This is a clean well staffed Marriot. Ate in all the restaurants we did not have a bad meal. Breakfast had very good choices from buffet to meal deals, the prices where no different then around the island. Two people really stood out, Rhonda works for Red Sail and work at the Concierge desk in the front lobby. I have never come a cross a person so helpful and friendly. She is a wealth of knowledge. The beginning of our trip was not perfect weather for the beach so having a car rental we stopped to get a map and asked her about what was open it being a holiday on the island, well she spent at least 15 min marking spots on the map and provided Drive times. The hotel had some beach erosion which didn’t me it good for sun bathing if you like your feet in the sand. The hotel made arrangements to setup at public beach with lounge chairs, towels, umbrellas, water and hotel staff. It was good but very crowded as cruise ships sent people to same beach.Rhonda informed us of a place called Hemingway’s which had been a Hyatt before hurricane Ivan. It has the pools up and running, beach chairs , umbrellas and a restaurant. You can use it for free, but would hope you buy drinks and food from them as you are not allowed to bring any drink or food with you. Great location. We also met the food and beverage manager Alberto he is a great asset to the Marriott he is a very hard worker, have seen him clearing tables, serving and always stopping to ask if everything is OK. A very pleasant man to talk with giving you the feeling he really cares the you are enjoying your stay. I’m sorry I spelled the food and beverage managers name wrong.

THERE IS NO BEACH. I’M NOT KIDDING.

We arrived on 11/19 and were SHOCKED that there is NO BEACH. We booked 2 rooms for my family back in July. We came to the Caribbean for guess what? A BEACH. The management here told me that it’s been this way since early September. Thee is NO EXCUSE for not informing guests in advance about this problem. After a lot of discussion, the manager Elliott tried to re-book us at another hotel on the island with more beach but no luck. Not surprised. It’s Thanksgiving week, The pool area is tiny and now everyone who would be sitting in the beach is crammed at the pool. The manager did reduce my rate but it’s still a huge amount of money. MARRIOTT should be ashamed of themselves. At the end of the check-in process the front desk agent informed us that they were providing shuttle buses to a public beach. No thanks. If you’re booked here and you and the beach is important to you make other plans.

This hotel is the by far the best hotel I have ever stayed at. The staff are amazing, not just helpful but super friendly and they just can’t do enough for you. There are so many good things about this hotel. The warm welcome when you arrived, the different themed evenings with the most delicious menus and most gorgeous setting. The pool guys are out of this world - couldn’t have found a more friendly bunch, in paticular Damian and arjay. Just the nicest guys ever who didn’t let anyone lift a finger. The hotel should feel very proud to have staff so committed and engaging. They make the place. This hotel is a must for everyone, whether travelling in a family, friends or romantic getaway. The brunch on a Sunday is out of this world and again the hotel breakfast restaurant is transformed into this absolutely gorgeous place (it’s already beautiful). They don’t overbook so feels calm and very happy Sunday. The gym is good too and visited this a few times. Again I can’t rate this hotel high enough - a week in paradise and came home feeling totally relaxed - make sure you go!!!
